"Aw, I'd never hurt you Acchan...but if anyone gives you a hard time, you know who to call."
Atsuko smiled at the girl's words. She doubted she would ever need Yuki's assistance, since she didn't make enemies very often. Still, it was nice to know the white haired girl would be there for her. The thought brought a small smile to Atsuko's face.
A goddess, huh? She giggled at the girl's compliment. Yuki really was the nicest person she had ever met...and probably the best friend she would ever have.
The blonde listened happily to Yuki's story, although the part about her getting hurt made her worry. In response, she pulled the other girl even closer into a hug. "Just be careful ok?" she whispered. "I'll worry about you too much."
Backing away from the tight embrace, Acchan happened to look at Yuki's face while they were still at a close distance, not even an inch apart. And she stopped breathing, for just a moment. The girl's eyes, a beautiful cerulean blue, were stunning. And for a second, Acchan was lost in them, before noticing every other perfect feature of the girl's face. Realizing she probably looked like an absolute weirdo, she quickly pulled the rest of the way back, blushing.
She had almost forgotten what the other had said looking at things in a new perspective. Smiling, she thought about how truly amazing Yuki-chan was. Saying something like that showed how smart and insightful she really was.
"That's amazing, Yuki-chan." She smiled at the taller girl. "I'm happy I've met such an incredible person." Suddenly, butterflies filled her stomach. Looking at Yuki, and thinking about it for a second... "Yuki," she said nervously. "I really like you."

Before leading the way over to the refreshments, Shun caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of her eye. A flash of an expression. One that had recieved news that was not ones liking. Well, Shun would have to address this matter. With a friendly smile she lead the way over and poured herself and Maiko a glass of punch, each. Although glass was probably giving the plastic cup a little too much credit.
"Oh?" She quirked an eyebrow at Maiko's revelation. If someone had wished to join, Shun was not about to deny the company. This was a large event, after all, so why shouldn't they entertain a third person to their little party. Shun smiled at Maiko and gave a nod and her approval, "But of course! By all means, invite her over."
She watched the Miator girl turn and call out with a wave of her hands. Curious she looked around the older girl to try and spot the girl in question.

Kotomi still hadn't found any people she knew and continued to walk around the ball's venue bored. Kotomi was in a mint green dress that reached her knees and it had a black ribbon tied around it with a bow on the left side. She curled her long red hair and wore a headband with pearls on it. She stopped at the snack table and grabbed a cup of punch and a cookie. She found her way through the crowd and she saw a girl with glasses, curled red hair wearing a blue dress. Kotomi hadn't really seen her before and assumed the girl was one of the other schools. She noticed that the girl was alone. 'Maybe this is a chance to make a new friend,' Kotomi thought to herself. She decided to take her chances and approach the girl. "Hi!" she exclaimed. "I"m Kotomi Hinata from Spica, it's nice to make your acquaintance." People like us we've gotta stick together Keep your head up, nothing lasts foreverThere were so many voices around her, Kagami almost didn't hear the one calling out to her. She turned around, trying to distinguish where the call had come from, and finally her eyes settled on a familiar face. She locked on a taller girl with long, long blue hair. She gave a tiny, subconscious smile; Maiko. The kind girl she had met in the woods. She made her way through the multitude of people, until she made it and stood directly in front of her new friend. She bowed her head before saying, "H-Hello, Maiko- Chan." She hadnt expected to see anyone she knew here. She was relieved beyond believe that someone, someone she considered a friend, was reaching out to her, just like she did before. Kagami blushed a bit. "It's .. It's good to see you again. Are... Are you having fun?" She smiled, genuinely hoping that the answer was a yes. Here's to the damned, to the lost and forgotten It's hard to get high when you're living on the bottomNotes- sorry if this kinda sucks. Going from Mai to Kagami is quite a jump XD

Post by Aideen Sudakov on Jul 19, 2013 20:06:32 GMT -5
Alice was always kissy, it was a bit odd to Aideen, but she'd seen French movies and things. That was just what they always seemed to do. Still, it did seem like it would match well. Aideen had completely forgot about accessories. She generally did. Outfits were hard enough without them but the corsage was beautiful.
"I wanted to come. I've never been to the winter ball before. It always seemed silly to come without a partner. Plus I wouldn't have really known anybody else so I just spent the night in my room. It was just easier that way. But now I've got you and that's really nice."
Alice was the better dancer too, that was obvious. Alice was quite obviously leading and Aideen just tried to go along with the flow as best she could. Aideen wondered if there was some kind of ballroom dancing club that did lessons or something for the next dance. She could surprise Alice though at least the other girl didn't mind the mistakes Aideen made. "Thank you Alice, I've been practicing a little and trying to figure it out. The internet's got a lot of videos on it." She smiled.

Maiko was happy to hear that Shun wasn't opposed to having another girl join them. She'd been worried that the magician would take the proposal as a sign that Maiko didn't want to spend time with her. Their party soon became three strong as Kagami made her way through the sea of girls in gowns and other formal wear. The Miator girl gave Kagami a welcoming smile and wave while considering what she might want to drink.
"It's lovely to see you again, Kagami-chan. How's Lei doing?" Maiko asked, genuinely interested in how her friend's horse was. She also took note of her friend's dress, how it really looked like a princess' - especially with the cape.
"I would say that I'm definitely having fun. Sando-san here showed me a magic trick that was quite entertaining. Of course the evening's even better now that you're here," Maiko answered her friend's question, giving the same smile she'd shown when she first met Kagami. Then she mentioned, "By the way, this is Sando Shun-san of Lulim, a very talented magician."
"So what do you think we should have to drink?" she asked Shun, trying to include both girls in the conversation. Then she glanced at Kagami and said, "Would you like to join us, Kagami-chan? I'd be very happy to have you share in a drink at least."
She hesitated, but then blushed as she offered, "And if either of you would like a dancing partner, I have some experience. I'd be happy to join you on the dance floor."
Note - No worries! It's quite a change of tone and pace!

Ariana still stood in the same spot, but had become somewhat content with standing around and watching the other girls interact.
It was then that she noticed a cute redheaded girl walking towards in her general direction. She didn't recognize her, but it seemed like she was coming to socialize with her. Seeing this, she straightened her posture and made sure she looked presentable.
As the girl approached her, she felt happy that she hadn't been wrong. It would be nice to talk to someone, especially a cute girl.
After her introduction, she offered Kotomi a coy smile and took her hand, kissing it gently. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Kotomi-san. I'm Ariana Hyung, a fifth year in Lulim. You look lovely tonight, by the way. It makes me wonder, why would such a cute girl want to talk to me?"
[of course I don't mind! I'm happy someone wanted to rp with me. ^w^]

Kotomi blushed lightly as Arianna took her hand and kissed it. Despite being at Astrea Hill a few quarters, she hadn't really made an "close" friends yet besides maybe her roommate. Everyone were pretty much just acquaintances to her thus far.
She smiled at Arianna. "Thank you very much, you look lovely yourself and it is a pleasure to meet you as well. I am also a 5th year and I attend Spica. And please, you can just call me Kotomi-chan." Was Arianna flirting with her? Kotomi wasn't really sure. Not that she was uncomfortable with it, it just really surprised her if that was the case.

Shun smiled as the newest member of their little party arrived. Maiko's friend was a rather attractive looking young lady who seemed rather timid. With the taller girl's flattering introduction, Shun dipped into a dramatic bow before the newcomer. She had a feeling she would like this Kagami.
"A pleasure and an honor to be making your acquaintance." she said, a pleasant smile on her face as she returned to her full height. Which, next to Maiko, wasn't all that impressive. Still, from the way Shun carried herself, her height hardly seemed to be a factor in her confidence at all.
As Maiko offered up a drink, Shun was already preparing one more for their companion. She glanced over her shoulder at Maiko's second offer and smirked to herself.
"Why, Maiko-senpai, that is a most generous offer." she said, returning to the other two, "I would gladly share a dance with either of you lovely ladies. The night is still young, I'm sure we'll have the chance to share one or two dances with one another."

People like us we've gotta stick together Keep your head up, nothing lasts foreverKagami have a tiny, shy smile. "Lei is very good!" She said. "Sh-she jumped a really high hurdle the other day, th-the highest sh-she's ever done." She blushed heavily as she was introduced to Shun. Her curiosity was piked; she liked magicians. They were intriguing and fastinating. But her social anxiety kicked in and won over her curiosity. She stepped behind Maiko slightly, the only person here she was really comfortable with. "It's... It's n-nice to meet you, Sando- Sama." She cleared her throat, forcing herself to be social. "You're a... A m-magician?" She said, her voice soft with anxiety. "Wh-what... Do you do?" With Maikos height and Shuns obvious confidence as stature, it was easy for Kagami to be intimidated. She folded her hands in front of her. At Maikos invitation to dance with them, and Shun saying she would love to dance with them, Kagami blushed again; the last time shed danced it had been with Ryoko. She but her lip nervously before realizing the other ladies would probably expect a responce from her. "Um..." She stammered, trying to think of how to go about this. "I... I d-don't know how to dance..." There. Not rude, it wouldn't hurt their feelings. She looked down at the ground, embarrassed. Even the tiniest of smiles was enough of a sign for Maiko that Kagami was happy. The Spica girl seemed like she was more comfortable now that she'd joined them, if only a little. Every little step was progress. Taking things too quickly wouldn't help the poor girl. Maiko was happy to be as patient as her friend needed her to be, and to be there to pick Kagami up if she fell.
"Really? That's great! I'm sure she's trying really hard for you because you care for her so much," Maiko responded to the news about Lei's latest achievement.
She smiled with slight amusement when Shun offered to dance with both of them. Mainly because she wondered how it would work if she and Shun were dancing. Maiko's height made her a candidate to lead, but Shun was acting much more like the gentlemanly type who would traditionally lead. It would be fascinating to see the result. She was also a little concerned as Kagami hid behind her ever so slightly, claiming she didn't know how to dance.
Maiko turned enough to look Kagami, then gently as always put a hand on her shoulder. She smiled and told the girl, "That's okay, Kagami-chan. I can teach you if you want. But if you're not comfortable dancing, I won't force you. I'd rather you have a good time than make you do something you don't want to."
She paused a moment, then commented, "I really like your dress, Kagami-chan. You look very, very nice tonight.. more than that, I think you look beautiful. I'm a dull speck on the wall compared to you."

Perhaps timid was a slight understatement. Kagami hid behind the taller Miator, despite showing a certain amount of interest in Shun's hobby. Which, she supposed, was only naturally. It wasn't every day that someone said they were a magician, after all.
The prospect of dancing with either girl delighted Shun, even if one of the would-be participants was showing a good deal of hesitation and even approaching the dance floor. With Maiko, she realized that things could certainly be interesting. Would she take lead, or allow the taller girl to take lead? Either option would be an interesting sight to behold.
"Maiko-senpai is correct, of course." she said, "This evening should only go as you desire. But, if you wish, I am certain that we can accommodate your level of experience. You will be in more than capable hands. Should you change your mind, of course."
Arching an eyebrow above one of her pink orbs, the magician regarded Maiko's last comment with slight bemusement. Sure, she was trying to coax Kagami out of her shell. But, Shun could not resist, "Oh, Maiko-senpai, you must not sell yourself short! You are looking quite beautiful, this evening" she said, "Though, I must agree with your assessment of our dearest Kagami-senpai." She turned to Kagami, "Your dress is every bit as beautiful as you are, yourself."

Post by Coyote-Hymn Foster on Jul 20, 2013 20:06:15 GMT -5
For an evening like tonight, Coyote had labored and agonized over the decision of what to wear. Such a decision was much harder to come by than she could have imagined. Most girls would likely opt to wear some sort of dress or gown. Likely the kind that would be rather flattering and very attractive looking. Coyote's decision...well, that was tricky.
For one, she was not all that fond of dresses. Another reason for her hesitation, was the fact that she wasn't exactly sure she could pull off such a look. Especially after the play. People probably wouldn't expect such a decision from the Canadian. But...could she pull off some sort of suit? Or would that look just as ridiculous?
So, she had raided the costume department of the theater to see if she could something that would work. Even with amount of prep work, she was still unsure if she had made the right decision. Nothing was quite as loose fitting as she normally preferred. Sure, neither was the St. Spica uniform, but she had managed to get comfortable with that, at least.
Light blue pants, a matching collared shirt and white dinner jacket draped across her shoulders. She had already tugged the tie loose and she hadn't even walked through the doors, yet. Even her normally messy crop of dark purple hair had been combed into some semblance of order. Coyote didn't even have that to hind behind. It was an ensemble that almost resembled something you would see in one of those old movies. Was it Casablanca? She wasn't all that sure. Of course, now she wished she had taken her hat. At least that would have given her something to hide behind.
Nervously, she hovered around the entrance to the auditorium. It was a cold night, so it would probably be best to just go inside and get it over with, already. She took a breath to psych herself up and walked over for the door.

◦ ◦ ◎ WINTER BALL ◎ ◦ ◦◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ Pretend just for tonight that someone actually cared about her. She had been pretending for so long, it wasn't hard to keep up the act.
Naomi always did unexpected things that surprised her. Kiwako didn't know how to react. There was no time to respond before the other girl's arms were around her. Her body stiffened instinctively. And suddenly, the student council president pulled back to assess her. Yes, she was being assessed. She was always being looked at and judged, whether people wanted to admit it or not. And thus, Kiwako had to continue upholding their expectations. Maybe she should become an actress. The thought was amusing enough to bring the ghost of a smile across her lips.
"I am perfectly alright," [/b] she assured the other girl, although the statement was obviously unnecessary. "There was no need to worry about me. I was far from Miator. I'm glad to see that you're safe as well."[/b] Although, of course, she had already known that Naomi was safe. After all, had something happened to one of the student council presidents, word would have spread across campus like wildfire. News of what the presidents, and many of the other students, had spread quickly among the students. Kiwako wasn't oblivious to it. She smiled reassuringly, but the expression was far from reassuring when the smile never quite seemed to reach her eyes. "I hear the student council has been very busy since the earthquake. It seems like you're doing a good job through all of this."[/b] That was, perhaps, the highest praise Kiwako would give to someone in a position that she so coveted. She had exceptionally high standards for the president, after all. Naomi's change in demeanor, reverting back to her normal self, was sudden enough to bring a genuine smile to her face. But the expression flashed only for a moment before her usual polite smile was once again plastered over her features. Kiwako didn't notice that her own body was still stiff, the feeling of the other girl's arms around her still lingering. She glanced around the room, despite already having taken in the sight. The gesture was more of a polite demonstration. "It's beautiful,"[/b] her attention returned to the girl in front of her. Really, Naomi was looking quite dashing in her suit with this lighting shining over her. She was just pretending. Kiwako had to remind herself that any affection shown to her tonight was not to be taken to heart. At a place such as this one, forgetting that would have been dangerous. She couldn't afford to drop her guard now. "I can hardly believe that I'm still on campus."[/b][/font] ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ WORD COUNT: 437 NOTES: Ramble, ramble, ramble. XD[/blockquote]

"That's amazing, Yuki-chan. I'm happy I've met such an incredible person."The taller girl chuckled softly in response. "Incredible? Acchan, you really are the sweetest girl I've ever met..." She smiled brightly. "You make me feel incredible...and that's a feat I never thought anyone could manage." Her voice softened, a warm smile forming as she spoke. Being here with such an amazing girl really did make her feel incredible. "Yuki... I really like you." Atsuko's words immediately struck a chord in Yuki's heart. 'She...likes me...?' A deep blush covered her normally pale cheeks. "A-Acchan..." She murmured, her initial shock slowly fading into an affectionate gaze. Giving the girl a gentle smile, she leaned in closer, her sapphire orbs staring deeply into her lilac ones. "I really like you too..." Her words were spoken softly, but the newfound confidence laced within them shone through. It seemed she had finally been able to comfortably tap into her seme nature. Despite her fairly calm outer demeanor, mentally...she was about as calm as a fish out of water. This sort of interaction was almost entirely foreign to her. While it was true that she had been quite a flirt in the past, none of it had ever meant anything. It had always been empty, void of any and all emotion. But now... Things were very real. Her racing heart, her trembling palms, the swarm of butterflies in the pit of her stomach... At this point, the only thing keeping her from fainting was sheer willpower.
