Theme:Under the Sea Setting:Year after year, the Winter Ball is held in the same location. Just for fun, lets say tonight is also Christmas eve. Despite the pretty coral and sea shell decorations, there is a small Christmas tree (decorated to match the theme) set up by the snack table. Feel free to bring a gift, or donate one to be randomly given away and place it beneath the tree. Or perhaps, someone has a gift for you instead? Rule:No less than 100 words per post please! All schools participating. :3

Jojo smiled as she had gotten herself ready for the ball knowing her friend, a friend that happened to actually ask her out from a date to go to the ball, would be going in blue for the dance. The two of them had happened to buy dresses weeks ago and she happily enjoyed all the same timing, even though the buying of dresses was way before they actually had the actual date. She smiled, working herself into the coral red dress, fluffy as it was in the manner that she only smiled, her red hair pinned back with a braid. The dress accentuated her frame, her blue eyes looking about while she only grinned with a smile, enjoying the time of just setting herself up. Rolling her neck around as she soon then put on a small seashell necklace, and then she was ready. All of the makeup disregard, never actually taking any on her but rather the dress and her frame aided each other in the best of ways. Jojo would only smile, walking towards the actually ballroom and now she was happy she actually is in the ballroom dancing club, since she would be capable of enjoying time there with the same manner. And another good thing would be that she would happily be watching and even seeing the new etoile do their own dance, to open up the ball hopefully. Jojo knew that the two being of different schools must have riled up some individuals but Jojo thought of it as cute and delightful in the same manner. It made her heart swell up and enjoy the times that much more without any constraints on just who or where they were. She smiled once more, walking towards the hall and soon enjoying her time even more now as she was waiting at the fountain in front of the hall for Sara to show up, wondering just how much more beautiful her friend would be, or rather how much more beautiful her girlfriend would be. Jojo did bring something in her left hand though, a small gift she had actually bought for Sara-chan with a blush to her cheeks now that she was looking down at it. A necklace of its own kind, though she would wait until Sara opened it to see the special things about it. She smiled more now though, with her mind thinking of the reaction Sara would have with the necklace she bought. Her eyes closing and a light and lovely sigh came from her lips as she waited outside patiently, not minding the weather as it was picking up its own pace it would seem. Image Help for Dress

Sara'd been antsy all day, and it felt like a fairly massive flight of butterflies had decided to move in and make her stomach their residence that morning, and they had yet to leave. Of course, the snow that was all over the campus had done little to help her mood, rather, as it had done for the past five years, it merely made her more nervous and uncomfortable. She took a few breaths to calm herself, to remind herself that everything was going to be fine tonight. It did little to help her, though, and her hands were clenched tightly in her Dress as she walked toward the auditorium where the ball was to take place. She'd spent nearly a quarter of an hour going over her appearance before heading out, making sure her earrings were in place (they were nothing fancy, just simple fake crystal studs), that her hair wouldn't come out of its bun (which she'd had an embarrassingly difficult time doing that evening) and that her dress was in perfect order The dress itself made her smile, she'd only picked that one because it was almost the same shade as Jojo's eyes, and because it was one of the ones her girlfriend (and that thought alone was still enough to make her blush) liked the best. She stopped for a moment and let her hands uncurl and smoothed the dress out, her fingers a little numb with the intensity with which she'd been gripping her dress. Of course, the cold didn't help, and the snow just made her uncomfortable. A smile broke out on her face as she approached her destination and saw her date waiting for her (though she was a little upset with herself for making Jojo wait out in the snow), and she just wanted to run over and throw her arms around the girl. Her dislike of the snow won out though, and she only walked up, but did throw her arms around her girlfriend, a huge smile on her face. "You look beautiful, Jojo." she said as the butterflies started to dissipate. There was no way this could go wrong. Withdrawing her arms, she slipped one of her hands into Jojo's right hand (as she'd noticed the redhead was holding something in her left) and smiled at her. "Shall we go in?"

Curious, a raven haired girl poked her head around the corner. The whole room was set up with marine decor, something to be expected of an Under the Sea dance. Sena hesitantly walked into the room, still looking around. It wasn't really that she was nervous about being there - more like she didn't know what to expect. It was her first time going to a dance like this, not to mention socializing at her new school. Well, it wasn't really new anymore, afterall, she had already been there for a couple months. That didn't mean she had friends, though. But maybe that would change tonight! It had been a last minute thing; a decision made on a whim because she didn't have anything else to do. An old cosplay had been selected for her dress fir the evening, complete with flower like hair ties, which held her black locks in the usual low pigtails. Knowing no one, Sena parked herself by the wall, deciding to just watch and wait for now. If nothing else, she could use all these pretty dresses for drawing practice later!

"Under the Sea". It was, according to sources, the theme of the Winter Ball. Last year, she didn't have a chance to go. Naoko had arrived far too late. Not that she was all that certain if she would have gone, or not. Tonight was different. There were opportunities. And Naoko liked opportunities. For starters, she had found herself a rather impressive get-up for the night. It was even one of those occasions where her outfit actually fit a sensible pattern. Which was probably the only sensible thing about it. The ruffled shirt and the long coat flowed pretty nicely. Even the cutlass and flintlock pistol looked good, attached to the belts around her waist. She would really have to give credit to LeRim's prop department. Provided she acknowledged that it was where she actually "found" the two items in question. With a swagger that would make any pirate proud, Naoko went straight for the punch. There were a few additives she would be using to alter it's recipe. And she had made sure enough extras that she might even be able to turn a profit. Nice to know that dances could be good for something. A wry smirk stretched across her face, as the teal-haired girl stirred her drink. "Where, oh where shall I begin?" she mused to herself.

Post by Yukari Iru on Mar 8, 2014 23:26:10 GMT -5
The crunching of the snow beneath her pink kitten heels seemed to echo with every step, though it did eventually become less audible as the bubbly second year hummed cheerily to herself. After all, walking in eerie silence had never been particularly appealing. Yukari was on her way to the Winter Ball, an event she'd sadly missed out on the previous year. She'd been put under the impression that it was improper to attend such an event without a date (thanks to an encounter with a certain raven-haired bully). But this year was different. She knew better now. Because of that, the petite pinkette wasn't at all nervous. In fact, she was rather excited. The Winter Ball was a chance to reach out and make new friends! And, of course, to see a plethora of girls in pretty dresses. That was always a bonus.
Yukari donned a red lolita-inspired dress, adorned with ribbons, lace, and cherries. Her long, pink hair was curled at the ends, accessorized with little red cherry pins and bows. As a tribute to the dance's marine-inspired theme, she wore a small, pink seashell charm in place of the bell on her collar. And, of course, no outfit would be complete without her signature kitty ears. In her hand, she held a single red rose, which would be a gift for...well...whoever could tolerate her the longest, she supposed. Despite it being incredibly cold outside, she'd forgone the idea of wearing a jacket; the scatterbrained pinkette had never been one to think ahead...or rationally, for that matter. Still, the chill that sent shivers down her spine prompted her to quicken her pace.
Finally, she arrived. As she stepped into the building, she couldn't help but gaze in wonder at the sight before her. The decorations were absolutely stunning, matching the underwater theme to a tee. A bright smile tugged at her lips, her eyes glistening with joy. "Wow..." She murmured under her breath, her baby blue orbs slowly taking in the scenery as they scanned the auditorium. Suddenly, something new caught her eye. She spotted a lone girl, leaning up against a wall. She looked a bit lonely, which was part of the reason she'd caught Yukari's interest. But the main reason was her dress. Being the intensely dedicated cosplayer she was, Yukari recognized the black dress instantly. Without a moment's hesitation, the pinkette strolled over to the girl, offering up a friendly smile. "Hi there! Excuse me if I'm being too forward, but this is the first time I've seen another cosplayer here and I just had to say something. I love your dress!"

Just as she was about to walk over to the punch table and get something to drink, more people started streaming in, so the otaku decided to stay and watch. One girl in particular stood out among the others: She was dressed in a cute red lolita dress, and a pair of kitty ears were perched atop her head. Sena's eyes widened in surprise at how cute this girl was! She was almost certainly younger than her, too. Maybe she would go talk to her later...
Before she could think about the matter an further, the pink haired girl started coming towards her! Dumbfounded by her own luck, Sena fixed her posture and brightened her expression, trying to look like she was thoroughly enjoying herself. After all, it wasn't every day that you were apptoached by a cute little sister type in a lolita dress.
But what could such a girl want with a tall, dorky girl like herself? When the girl finally approached her, Sena smiled brightly. Another cosplayer! "Wow, I'm glad you like it!" She beamed. "I never thought that I'd be recognized here. Your dress is adorable," she replied. "I could never pull off a lolita dress. My name is Sena, by the way. What's yours?"

She had walked alone from the dorms, not sure where her roommate/ date was. Rin guessed she was taking a test or something, or maybe had some other project to do. So, she'd gotten ready on her own, she was a lifetime nervous. Did she look okay? Was everything right?
Still, she walked through the dark winter wonderland looking like a ghostly siren. She had a long strapless white gown, alarge now crossed her chest with long trailing ties that hung to the floor. The gown itself was so flowy, her slightly movement seemed to make the fabric float. Her usual braids were tied back with another white bow. It really was cold, so she covered herself with a white faux fur wrap.
Once inside the auditorium, she left the wrap with the nun guarding the coats and walked to the center of the dance floor, wore ballet flats hidden beneath her gown. The small pinkette pulled her hands up to get chest, eyes sparkling as she gazed at all the decorations.
"Haaaaaa!" She gawked, then she stopped, suddenly noticing the Christmas tree by the snack table. Rin hasn't brought a gift, she had completely forgotten. It was Christmas eve! She had gotten presents for all her friends, Ubu, Margulu, Kura-senpai, Momoko and Aki. She couldn't forget them, but a gift for to just donate? She hadn't even thought about it. Still, the few gifts nestled beneath the sea themed branches made her feel better.
She turned around, gown flowing in a circle and she looked at the other girls already milling about. No Aki, or anyone she knew for that matter. She blushed some and looked at her feet. She felt pretty, and for once a little free. Light sparkled around her, music was lightly playing in the background. The tiny sparking obs that spun around the dance floor were so pretty. She just had to wait for a friend. Maybe if she stood in the corner of the dance floor, just like this, they would see her right away.
(Her dress is the one in the main post. In fact, that girl looks like an older Rin almost. XD)

Through the doors stepped two girls, both with white hair and generally short stature. The Hiruko sisters, Junko and Kagami. The younger sister wore her hair in an intricate braided updo, wearing an adorable blue dress with a black lace overlay. Her older Onee wore a floor length light orange gossamer gown. The garment was a bit out of what Kagami normally wore, the color especially. But the sight of it had instantly made her think of a soft sunset, and so shed picked it out. The two sisters separated not long after they entered, each looking for their perspective partner. The younger sister walked towards the punch bar, her white shoes with tiny heels (for once, she wasn't wearing her converses!) clicking against the ground. Her light blue eyes were dusted with a sweet pink, and a tiny heart necklace adorning her throat. Some girls glanced at her as she walked past, some even smiled or waved. But sometimes they sneered or glared at her, or turned and began whispering as she passed. While Junko still didn't really understand what had happened to make others not like her, she had decided not to let it bother her. After all, everyone she actually cared about knew the truth. She leaned casually against the wall, a bubbly smile adorning her face. She couldn't wait for her darling prince to show and sweep her off her feet. She and Yoru had been allowed a bit more time together now that she wasn't student council president anymore and her leg was out of that blasted cast and boot. Still, she longed for her, her scarlet- haired true love. Then again, Junko suspected she would feel that way no matter what. No matter how much time they spent together, the snow- haired girl would always want more. She missed her when they weren't together and she cherished the times they were. Her mind briefly wandered back to her best friend and old crush Yuudai, how much had happened to them last year. Though Yuudai had graduated, they stayed in touch as often as possible. She tilted her head back with a smile. Yuu- Kun, I hope you're happy...But as always, she went back to Yoru and eagerly looked towards the door, awaiting the fairytale to begin...

The red pendant that dangled around Kagamis throat matched her light colored dress perfectly, while they clashed with her violet eyes, her silver charm bracelet jingling on her arm. Her cheeks were stained their signature red as she stepped through the crowd. She still wasn't accustomed to the attention that came along with the Etoile name, and probably never would be. But it no longer seemed to completely overwhelm her and she was able to smile back and even say hello. But she was still herself and she found herself needing to step out of the crowd. She looked around for her partner, her heart swelling at the thought of her girlfriend. Tonight was the night, one year ago, Kagami and Maiko had become a couple. As it was Christmas Eve, it was also the day they'd decided to run for Etoile together. It was one year to the day Kagami had found somewhere her heart belonged, someone she could trust with her fragile emotions. She had grown stronger, more confident thanks to Maikos love and guidance, and she couldn't wait to see her now. She didn't have the resources her sister did; whereas Junko was given a monthly allowance, the older sister had to fend for herself. So clutched in her hands was her precious sketchbook, an inked and colored drawing of the two girls stating lovingly into each other's eyes, the pendants around their necks. Though it was relativly cheap, shed also perchased a book full of trumpet sheet music, specifically love songs. In addition, Junko had helped her pick out something else; they had gone to an old bookstore and picked up a classic American novel, one she hadn't seen on Maikos grandmothers shelves. She thought that, after everything shed done for her and Maiko, it was the least she could do. She really hoped Maiko liked it, and she couldn't wait to spend the night in her sweethearts arms...

She didn't see her friend walking in, instead, she suddenly heard a call from behind her and spun to see her friend.
"Aki-chan! Presento?" She said, saying the word "present" in English, her accent coloring the word. she looked down at the necklace. As much money as her family has, Rin didn't wear a lot of jewelry, none of it meant anything to her. "Aki-chan I love it!" She touched it lightly and then turned, lifting her hair out of the way.
"Will you?" as she asked, implying that her friend help her put on the trinket. Once it was on she noticed Aki's matching one. She smiled at the idea of wearing a matching necklace. "I have something for you too." Rin hadn't brought her gifts for the others, she had left them in the dorms for Christmas Morning. However Rin lifted her wrist, a silver charm bracelet decorated with tiny silver stars and sea shells hung daintily. With a smile she removed it and presented it to the brunette before her.
"May I?" She asked, wanting to put it on the other girl's wrist. It made her feel good. Her first Christmas Eve on Astraea Hill and she was spending it with her first room mate. She really hoped to see her other friends as well this night, and was also suddenly sorry for not bringing all of her gifts for everyone tonight, but then, what would be left for the morning? Even so, she hoped all of her years on Astraea would turn out as wonderful as this one was so far.

Post by Kaguya Jojo on Mar 10, 2014 0:04:06 GMT -5
Jojo saw her friend in the blue dress, accompaniment to her own eyes if memory served correctly. A subtle dress as she smiled and was ecstatically happy that Sara was able to make it without any delay. It was not a matter of her being late, but Jojo being early and yet she completely loved snow so therefore she did not mind in the slightest. Jojo soon also noticed the crystal studs in each of those ears, she herself only smiled when thinking on such things and with the way they sparkled, she knew they were false crystal but she did not mind. The elegance of just using what is around one’s own self was enough for Jojo to fall in love with it. She found herself warmly wrapped in a hug by the girl; surprised she had not seen the girl run to her but that was also maybe because of the snow. Not every girl loved snow as much as Jojo did, she herself anticipated a gentle ease as she walked forwards and easily placed a hand inside the other girl’s hand. Her right now held by Sara-chan as she only smiled. She always loved being capable to love and endure all the jovial pleasantries of such a time. She hugged in close as the two walked into the winter ball’s hall, Jojo beaming with excitement as she had been waiting for a chance to dance with the girl she confessed her heart to. “Oh yes, Sara-chan. I have a gift for you.” She smiled, holding the present in hand, as she held it out for Sara to open while her right hand still held onto Sara’s left. The gift was packaged in a red and blue diagonal stripe wrap paper to go in accordance with their choice dresses ironically. The gift itself was far too different though from what Jojo ever bought in her life before. A dolphin necklace made of sterling silver and sapphire. Such gems and metal correspondence with one another would radiate the light onto it and provide elegant reflection and glow. Jojo could not wait for her friend to open it, her love to open it. Such was a joyful thing when thinking about how Sara will react to seeing something. Jojo originally retrieved the beautiful necklace for Sara’s love of swimming, and with the blue dress, she thought the necklace would look perfect on her girlfriend, the mere thought now making her blush. When she saw the gift open, she would wait for initial shock to pass before asking, “Would you like me to put it on you?” A smile and steady gleam of her own eyes when looking at her friend, expecting nothing in return. Just the mere fact that she was holding her girlfriend's hand was enough to get Sara's heart pounding, and some part of her was still amazed that Jojo had agreed to go to the Ball with her. Mainly because Sara had never really learned how to dance. That'd been the reason she'd skipped out on it the last year. But this year was different, and she was walking into the Ball with the girl she'd fallen in love with.
She'd been wondering what Jojo was holding in her other hand, and was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be a gift for her. "F-for me? Thank you, Jojo!" she said, taking it with her free hand and then fumbling with it, trying to open the wrapping paper with only one hand (she didn't want to let go of Jojo's hand, after all), and after a few moments, reluctantly removed her hand from Jojo's so she could open the present she'd just received.
The necklace was beautiful, and Sara couldn't help but smile looking at it. "It's beautiful... I love it, thank you so much!" she said happily, before the smile faded and her face fell, as she remembered that she hadn't gotten anything for Jojo. "I-I'm sorry Jojo, I forgot to get you a gift. I'm sorry." she said, feeling very ashamed of herself for forgetting, and even though she knew that Jojo would probably say that it was nothing, that it didn't matter, Sara still felt bad for not having anything to give to her girlfriend. She nodded a little glumly in response to Jojo's question, turning so that she'd have an easier time putting it on.
Once it was on, she turned to face the girl she loved and took Jojo's hands in her own. "I know this can't really make up for me forgetting to give you a present," she said, having decided that she would make this up to her girlfriend at some point. "But it's all I can do right now. I love you, Jojo." she finished, before leaning forward and placing a kiss on Jojo's lips.
Once she broke it, she smiled and released Jojo's right hand, and led her into the auditorium. "I'll make it up to you, I promise." That said, they were now in the auditorium, and Sara couldn't help but marvel at the decorations, which were beautifully done, and then wondered if anyone had put up any mistletoe. Though granted, she didn't really need an excuse at this point, she didn't think.

Post by Maiko Suzumi on Mar 10, 2014 4:09:22 GMT -5
Any family with a longstanding tradition such as the Suzumi clan was bound to understand the importance of certain dates and anniversaries. For Maiko they had been part of her life since she'd been a kindergartener. Every year they would celebrate the day St. Miator's was founded, the special holidays of the church and other such events. As she'd gotten older the responsibilities should have increased but now they were less prevalent. Maybe because she was so busy as a member of three clubs, unofficially mentoring her sisters on Astraea Hill, and of course being Etoile. No matter how insistent her mother was about arranging a marriage, she had to applaud her daughter for achieving that milestone at least. Truly a remarkable feat of grace and ladylike bearing that further brought honor to Miator and the Suzumi name.
Tonight was a major event on the Astraea Hill calendar - maybe the biggest social event too, the Winter Ball. As Etoile it was only right that the tall bluenette be present for it. That wasn't what mattered to her as much. Someone was waiting for her at the Winter Ball, someone whose brilliance outshined the sun itself. Each step she took towards the auditorium made her heart pound heavier in her chest. One year ago to the day, all her prayers had finally been answered. An angel had been sent to make her the happiest woman in the world, one who appeared in the midst of a crowd. They had of course met before that night, but this was the anniversary of their realization of love. Their first dance, first kiss. It was a spot on the calendar that Maiko would remember always, even after they had long left the hallowed halls of Miator and Spica.
Against all those odds represented by their families, troubled pasts and maybe fate itself, they had found each other. They were the very first Etoile couple to come from different schools, which gave hope to girls all across campus. A couple that was supposed to be the best example on campus was truly representative of how love could find a way no matter what. And tonight was the night she would once again share a dance with her dear angelic princess. Maiko worried that her gown was a bit too flashy, compared to what she normally would have worn.
It was a floor length gown of varying shades of blue that grew ever so lighter as they descended from the bodice. Along the hem was a bit of white that rose like a gentle wave, sequined so that it shined in the light. Along with this she had a pair of white opera gloves and blue heels that made her even taller. She could stand proud as Etoile and as Kagami's girlfriend without worrying about her height. Her hair was done up in an elaborate bun, held in place by a pair of hair pins which were actually fairly plain compared to the dress. The Etoile pendant rested around her neck as a sign of her devotion to the most important person in her life.
And there, across the room, she was. Resplendent in a surprisingly colorful light orange dress that only served to further make her stand out. Maiko's lips broke into a smile as she quickly crossed the dance floor to meet her beloved. Behind her back she held a gift for Kagami, a box containing a few hand-selected items. One old classic novel her grandmother had picked out, one CD of trumpet music that Maiko had recorded in secret a couple weeks prior and a painting she'd asked a friend to make of them sitting in a meadow dressed like fairy tale princesses, with Kagami's noble steed off to the side. Girls from Miator and the other sister schools noticed her immediately and gasped in awe or watched eagerly as the bluenette approached.
"Kagami-chan! You look absolutely gorgeous," she called out happily as at last she was near her girlfriend, "I'm sorry to keep you waiting, my princess."
