Himiko nodded in agreement with Homura's description of dancing and music. It really was fundamentally different than martial arts, or in Himiko's case, riding a horse. Footwork was important in both dancing and martial arts, but their purposes were a bit different. She really could relate to the comment about music and the soul. There was a deep connection between the two that words simply could not describe accurately. When you really felt a song, it resonated with something deep inside you. As she considered this she smiled in satisfaction - she knew exactly what Homura was talking about.
"She'd be happy to hear your praise, I think. It was kind of short notice but I'm glad that she was able to get it done for me all the same," Himiko remarked about her friend's craftsmanship. She shrugged at the question about the Etoile, "I've never been really interested in it myself, that's true. But if someone I knew really wanted to, if they were a good friend or more, then I'd reconsider. In fact, if she asked me and we were close, I'd do it without a second thought. And if I did I would fight as long as I could to ensure we would win!"
A big, confident grin emphasized her determination to win a competition she had just said she bore no interest in entering. What she'd said was the truth of the matter. If a girl who was close to her, friend or otherwise, asked her to compete for Etoile as a pair she'd do it. Not for herself but for the other girl. An adventure for the heart of another was perhaps the greatest one of all.
"So long as you enjoy yourself, who cares if you dance alone or with twenty people? I at least don't think there's anything odd about dancing solo. It makes you feel good, right?" Himiko replied to Homura's explanation of dancing by herself. She blinked in surprise when she was asked about her own ability to dance.
"Yes. Though I must warn you that it's nothing really suited to a formal dance like this one," the girl admitted with a wink, "I learned from one of my sisters, since it's part of her job. So I can dance like an idol, but not like a lot of the other girls here. However, if you want me to invite myself to join you in dancing so that you don't have to ask yourself, I can arrange that."

What a curious way of going about the Etoile competition. Most girls (like her, though she wouldn't kid herself into ever thinking she had a chance) would either love to be Etoile or had absolute disdain for the idea altogether. She had to admit to herself though that it was a good way to go about it, and she found herself silently agreeing with the sentiment. "Idol dancing?" she inquired curiously, her eyes widening as though impressed, and indeed, she was. "Learned from your sister? Your sister is an idol? Oh, how interesting! Have I heard of her?" She paused, catching herself. She'd get to know more about Himiko's sister later. She found herself somewhat envious about an idol sister, but moreso, it came from her place of not having a sister or brother at all, and she had always wondered what that was like to have one. She never quite understood what it was like to fight with a sibling, but she would admit she wished she had one. She had always been a lonely child her entire life... and maybe she could have actually pursued her dreams rather than just being slated to inherit her family's school. After a moment of deliberation on the rest of Himiko's words, she smiled and began to speak again. "You're welcome to dance with me if you'd like, you're here, right? So you might as well have some fun. There's someone doing the music up there and she takes requests, anything we want as long as it's appropriate, so if the music they're playing now isn't quite to your liking, why not go request one?" She chuckled to herself. "Besides, having something for people besides couples could be fun. Maybe you can show me a thing or two, I don't think I've ever really danced in any particular style... just what felt right."

Talking about her idol singer sister was not typically the kind of conversation Himiko had with people. There was no reason to deny that sister's existence of course. Her resemblance to Himiko was too striking to claim absolutely no relation. They hadn't spoken much since the incident at the recording studio, mostly because of her sister's annoyance and pride. So when Homura was impressed, Himiko again shrugged at the question. For her it was as normal to have an idol singer as it was to buy bread at the school store.
"Her name's Kanna, and she's still performing even though her popularity is going down. Keeps talking about being in a 'death spiral' of her career or something," Himiko explained to her curious compatriot, sounding a little bored by the subject material. She smirked as she added, "When I was little I wanted to be like her, but she told me I wasn't pretty or good enough at singing to do that. Then she said I could, but she was just trying to save her own career by adding a novelty to her act. Unfortunately she didn't like the fact that I sang in tlhIngan at the recording session."
Himiko laughed at the memory of her sister's expression when she'd discarded the suggested lyrics. The memory faded as Homura managed to make sense of the complicated statement she'd put forth about dancing. She appreciated that Homura wasn't pushing her too hard to join in. It made her feel more comfortable about considering the option. That consideration lasted about two seconds, as she figured she might as well. Plus she had a partner so it was even better!
"I really don't think of my dancing as a style so much as a force of.. well, me. It's based off of what I learned when I wanted to be an idol, but I just kind of improvise the rest," she grinned again, full of confidence and with a reckless gleam in her eyes, "So if you don't mind I'll join you. If you like the music that's playing I'll do my best to dance to it. It would stain my warrior's honor if I did not try."
She added cheerfully and a bit teasingly, "Even if some girls might mistake us for a couple, right?"

Homura listened politely to Himiko's story, looking dour when hearing what Kanna had done to her, but her lips cracked up into a wide smile at the description of Himiko's revenge plot. She found it quite amusing how devious the other girl could be, Homura on the other hand felt she was far too cowardly to get revenge on anyone, even if she did have someone to get revenge on. Would she ever need to? "Kanna... Kanna... ah, I think I've heard of her. I was never much of a fan, though I wouldn't turn her off if she came on the radio. Well, I think your sister was wrong. I think you're quite lovely, and what I've heard of you on the choir, you have the voice of an angel. Don't ever let anyone sell you short. But I have to ask... what is that... uh..." she paused, trying to work her tongue around it, and failing spectacularly. " Pfthagen?" To her it sounded like something from those books that her mother had. Lovecraft, was it? She never did quite understand it, but then again she'd read them out of curiosity as a child and hadn't really picked them up since. She did remember having nightmares, though. As Himiko continued on about dancing, Homura smiled. "I'll field any weird questions about us if anyone has suspicions, don't worry. If you don't want to pick a song, let's just go with whatever they put on." She laughed softly to herself, wondering just what was around the bend. It was just a dance, after all. She offered Himiko her hand, a friendly smile on her face, figuring they could talk a bit more once actually on the dance floor. OOC: I tried to wait to give others a chance to post but after 24 hours nobody did so I'm responding, sorry for the wait!

"Thank you for your very kind words! You can be sure that no one will sell me short again. Kanna's deception did make me learn to take care of things myself, and made me who I am today," Himiko related, casting her eyes up as she thoughtfully added, "I guess she helped me more than I realized even if she didn't mean to."
Generally, speaking a constructed language from a foreign science fiction source just confused other girls. Getting stares of incomprehension from classmates was pretty common. A lot of times people just thought that she was choking on something or making strange noises. Himiko was pleasantly surprised that Homura was actually making an effort to ask about what she was saying. Her failed attempt to repeat what Himiko had said just made the raven haired girl's smile wider.
"Ah! You speak of thlIngan!" she exclaimed excitedly, somehow making the guttural word sound cute. She tapped the bronze pin on her sash, "It's the official language of the thlIngan wo'! A hard language to learn, but I managed to teach myself over a year or so."
Himiko was still giddy as she explained further, "When Kanna told me I couldn't be an idol, I hid in my room for a while. I watched this American TV show, and it really helped me feel better. So I decided I should be strong like the aliens in the show, and even learn their language. A lot of girls think I'm coughing or something, but it makes me happy. Hopefully you don't find that too weird to dance with me?"
With Homura's hand offered to her Himiko actually blushed a little and hesitated before taking it in hers. She wasn't really sure about dancing but it would be a shame not to try. There wasn't any pressure on her to be spectacular or anything, but still she felt the fire burning inside her. Driving her to do her best in dancing with this girl so as not to disappoint her. As the stepped out onto the dance floor she looked over at Homura and blushed a bit again before covering it with a smile.
"I'll follow your lead, Homura. Just start dancing when you feel like it and I'll take inspiration from you," she suggested kindly while stepping back enough to watch her partner get things started. All the while she held on to Homura's hand.
OOC: No problems! We've kind of taken things over for the moment, it seems.

Homura seemed genuinely interested in Himiko's story as she led her to the dance floor, carefully finding a somewhat open area for the pair of them to dance. Nobody seemed to be particularly interested in the pair as of yet, which gave her some relief. In all honesty, Homura was nervous. She had danced on her own, and in groups of friends, but with an actual partner? Now that was different, and she swallowed heavily. It's just a dance, it's just a dance, it's just a dance..."I don't find it too weird to dance with you," Homura responded as she got her bearings. Being told to lead, well, this would be an adventure. "I find it fascinating. My mother has an interest in foreign television programmes, though I don't understand it much, but I think if you enjoy something, that's your business, and I don't think anyone has the right to shame you for it. You like what you like." Homura was reminded of her own passion for food, how she had become reclusive when she was younger and began to cook to work through that. She'd never really had... friends, but being able to do something and create was like a breath of fresh air for her, especially when she discovered she'd had a talent for it. It seemed that Homura and Himiko were similar in more than that their names started with the same phonetic. She slowly began to lead Himiko in a dance, keeping in time to the music though taking it slow and easy to start, so they could both get used to the rhythm. This was a song she didn't recognise, but found to be energizing - and reminding herself to find out what it was called later - and soon her steps began to come naturally. She held Himiko's hand in one hand, the other simply resting on her shoulder, having decided to let Himiko decide where to lay her other hand, she'd warmed up enough to her to not mind her touch. She could feel her face blushing, hoping sincerely Himiko couldn't see it. She didn't want to field questions about it, and as casual as she tried to act she simply couldn't justify blushing - just a dance, just a dance, just a dance - though she had to admit, her heart pounding in her chest gave her quite a thrill. Was dancing with another person always like this? If so, she wasn't sure where she fell on that topic. "It reminds me of me," she said, just loud enough to be heard. "When I was little I had trouble with bullies... not physically, but they'd exclude me and mock me. I felt very down, so I started cooking. It made me feel happy and alive again, so I suppose I can relate to finding a passion in something. I'd like to know more about your language, if you have time. If it's a fully structured fictional language, that would be fascinating!"

Ever since the gossip letter was covertly slipped under each dorm room door on campus, whispers of The LeRim Prince spread quickly. Tales of a handsome blonde knight swooping in to save a delicate princess from the tragedy known as the Miator Ruins was told around campus, girls fawning over the fairy tale. The so-called "prince" was Yuudai Sato, a sixth year at Lulim who was best known for her boyish features, piercings, and love for music. The lucky damsel, who was truly a princess in the prince's eyes, was Emiko Nekokuran, a delicate lamb with the voice of an angel. The smaller girl was the light of Yuudai's dark world, a sight for her sore eyes, and a soothing escape from her dejected life. Today, one could say that the prince truly lived up to her name. Wearing a noble, white tuxedo lined with a striking crimson undershirt and a handsome tie of the same color, emphasizing out her sharp, scarlet eyes. Her blonde bangs were swept to her right, her short locks poking out from behind in an organized mess. Her fair skin was free of piercings, and her pink lips were curled into a small, handsome grin. In her hand was a white rose, thorns professionally removed of course - a gift for her beloved princess. The tawny took a deep breath as her slender fingers took hold of the auditorium door. Tonight was the night. The night she had always dreamed of. Yuudai and Emiko's first date.... And their first public appearance as a couple. The music filled the prince's ears as she opened the door, the sight of a winter wonderland correlating to the brisk weather outside. Girls danced and chatted in their best outfit, dresses and tuxes highlighting their personality. Yuudai's maroon moons scanned the room, searching for her sweetheart. She knew that she was running a bit late but she hoped that she didn't keep her angel waiting too long. notes: sorry it's kinda short!

As the lamb's chocolate eyes continued to scan the room, she finally spotted a familiar face. Dressed in a dashing white tux, maroon eyes glistening in the light, her prince had finally arrived. Both excited and nervous, Emiko straightened up, smoothing out the skirt of her dress. She could feel her heart beating wildly in her chest as she took a timid step in the blonde's direction. "Yuudai-kun!" She called out, her soft voice drowned out by the music. She slosly made her way across the room, trying her best to be polite and not step on any toes as she stumbled through the sea of girls. When she was finally close enough to be heard, she tried again. "Yuudai-kun!" The soft smile she held grew brighter as she spoke, her heart racing at a speed she didn't even know was possible. Despite all her nerves, she still couldn't hide her obvious excitement. This was, after all, the first time she'd attended the winter ball. It was also the first time she'd ever been on a date. She still couldn't believe this was all real. Here she was, in a sparkling lilac ballgown (just like the princesses in her fairytales), about to experience the first day of happily ever after with her handsome prince. It was, quite literally, a dream come true. Part of her wondered what had made someone as wonderful as Yuudai take an interest in someone as plain as herself. 'Yuudai-kun could probably have any girl she wanted... But...' She looked up at the blonde, smiling lovingly. 'I'm so glad she chose me...'

Scarlet orbs scanned the large auditorium for an oasis in the horde of girls. Yuudai could hardly imagine how stunning her date would look tonight, she could only hope that she looked up to par. The blonde twiddled the rose in her slender fingers for a bit as her gaze shifted across the room, gossip of herself reaching her ears. Once again, it seemed as if she would be the talk of the winter season. In the midst of the chatter, a familiar voice reached the blonde's range, a sweet voice calling out to her. Rubescent orbs squinted, searching through the sea for her dear sweetheart, a faint blush rising to her cheeks as her attention was caught on a beautiful blonde whose dark, rear locks bounced with every step. The maiden was draped in a dazzling, lavender ballgown, accentuated with elaborate ruffles. If the young girl had a tiara, she would surely be mistaken for a royal princess. A relieved grin eased on to the prince's charming features, her rosey orbs gleaming with happiness. The time has come, the night of the ball that every princess had dreamed of. And it was Yuudai's job to make it as flawless as possible.
The prince extended an arm, gently bringing Emiko's hand to her lips. With a gentle kiss and a slight bow, the tawny had greeted the princess with great chivalry, almost as if they had stepped back in time. She had done the cliched move without thinking, the embarrassment on her face clearly visible moments after. But once her eyes landed back on the girl... "You look amazing." she said wearing a handsome smile, taking in the overwhelming beauty of her girlfriend. "Oh, um... I-I got this for you." A tint of pink rose in Yuudai's cheeks as she held out the white rose, a shy note hidden behind her downcasted eyes. There were tons of other things the prince wanted to say but couldn't find the courage to mouth it. All were either too generic or too cliched... Couldn't she think of something original for once? A beauty like Emiko falling for a beast like Yuudai, it truly was a fairy tale come to life, and Yuudai couldn't be any happier. Her averted orbs took a deep gaze at her date, an impeccable beauty for sure, the prince just couldn't wait so show her off to the crowd. Tonight, she wanted everyone to know that Emiko was a princess.

A light blush tinted the little fawn's cheeks as her prince brought her hand to her lips. While many might have found the gesture somewhat cliche, Emiko thought it was the sweetest thing in the world. And the moment grew even sweeter when her blushing prince presented her with a beautiful white rose. "A-Arigato, Yuudai-kun..." She murmured, her eyes shining with delight. She carefully took the rose, the smile on her face never fading. "It's beautiful..." In an unusually bold move, Emiko stepped closer to her prince, pulling her into a warm embrace. "You have no idea how happy you've made me... Ouji-sama..." She giggled softly, feeling a bit silly for calling Yuudai 'Prince' outloud. But somehow, it just seemed almost...natural. Maybe all those days of imagining the tawny as a prince had finally taken their toll on her. Either way, Emiko was undeniably happy. Even while embracing Yuudai, Emiko couldn't help but take notice of the whispering going on around them. Many of the girls were eyeing the couple curiously, as if they weren't expecting the two to be together as they were. 'Or maybe they think we don't belong together...' The sad thought was quickly pushed away. Regardless of what anyone else thought, Emiko's heart belonged to Yuudai, and that was that. Nothing in the world could ever change that.

It absolutely fascinated Himiko that the girl she was now dancing with was so intent on listening to her. She always stressed the importance of honesty with one's feelings, and didn't detect any deceit in Homura. Someone who was interested in what she was saying about a science fiction show was rare enough. Someone who held interest in that, who also did martial arts, who also was on the student council, who believed people should just follow their hearts with interests? So peculiar that she'd never spoken to Homura sooner.
As they danced Himiko was caught off guard by her partner leading. She'd told Homura to lead with the idea that they'd both just dance kind of on their own. This was different. Himiko stumbled as she struggled to get her bearings; this was her first real experience with this kind of dancing. Her martial arts studies kicked in and she started anticipating the footwork of the dance. Soon she was more or less able to follow along.
Her blush returned when Homura rested a hand on her shoulder. Usually so decisive and reckless, Himiko hesitated before she ended up putting her free hand tenderly on Homura's waist. Being physically close to other girls wasn't unusual for someone who did martial arts and for whom randomly hugging people when she was overly happy was normal. Again, this was different. Homura was so warm! A comforting warmth.
Himiko could feel her own heart begin pounding as she gazed into her partner's eyes. Intended to show she was paying rapt attention to Homura, it also served to cause a realization in Himiko. Those amber orbs were incredibly pretty and drew her in closer. Maybe it was just the light? She recalled her earlier assessment of Homura's appearance as lovely. Now that word didn't do her partner justice. Part of her wanted badly to reach up and see if Homura's hair was as soft as it looked. No, that's not proper or honorable. Keep it together, Suvwl', she told herself, though she couldn't force the blush from her face as easily.
"You cook? A martial artist and a cook? You impress me deeply, Homura. I'm sorry you had to deal with bullies when you were little, though. Clearly they weren't even worth your time, though, since you're a wonderful person. I can tell. You'll have to let me try some of your cooking some day," Himiko responded cheerfully, glad to have something to take her thoughts in a different direction.
Her eyes lit up even more when Homura expressed more interest in the language she spoke. Himiko was giddy again as she answered, "I'd love to tell you more about thlIngan! It's a very direct language that sounds pretty abrasive at first. For example, there's no word for 'hello' or 'goodbye', just 'what do you want?' and 'Success!'. And it's the most popular fictional language in the world."
Cheerful as she was, her attention kept getting drawn back to her partner rather than her passion for an alien language. Without realizing it, she uttered more of the language, "IH' Homura SoH..."
Surprised at what she'd said, she asked, "Do you want me to try and lead? It might make sense, since I'm dressed for the part."

Homura gazed back into Himiko's eyes - some may have called Himiko average in a lot of ways, black hair, light eyes, and usually looked rather low-maintenence to Homura, but Homura had never found that to be true. In her mind, Himiko was incredibly pretty, the type she was sure would grow into a very elegant woman.
Homura, on the other hand, had never been afforded the luxury of casualness, as her family's status demanded that she look her best at all times. They had to keep up appearances, didn't they? She found herself envying Himiko, but that eventually melted away with her gaze.
The girl's hand on her waist intensified Homura's blush - please don't notice please don't notice please don't notice - but somehow, she found herself enjoying it. Dancing with a partner was a very different animal than she was used to, but so far, she enjoyed it.
Though perhaps it was simply because of her current company? She wasn't really noticing anyone else anymore, it was just her, Himiko, and the music. But maybe that was how progression of these events was supposed to go when everything was just... just right.
She was jerked from her contemplation as Himiko began to speak again, a smile widening on Homura's face. She nodded at the request, speaking up.
"Well, truthfully, I used to dream of being a famous chef and owning my own restaurant. But my family owns a dojo, and since I'm the only heir, I have to run that instead. But that doesn't mean I enjoy cooking less. If you'd like me to cook for you sometime, I'd love to!"
Why was she being so open with Himiko? She didn't recall ever telling anyone she secretly wanted to be a chef. Himiko just eased her worries, and being something of kindred spirits she felt she could trust her.
"The only languages I know are Japanese and French... and the second is because we learn it here. I find your tenacity to learn not only a second language but a fictional second language admirable."
After a moment of contemplation on this, Himiko's voice came again, and Homura nodded. "Sure, if you'd like to lead. You're a great dancer, Himiko. I haven't danced with a partner either, so I suppose this is a bit new for both of us. You've got a lovely form, though, and a natural talent..."

People like us we've gotta stick together Keep your head up, nothing lasts foreverThe white haired girl couldn't help but blush again at the word "beautiful". She cleared her throat, flattered; she was so unused to such compliments, and she had received several this one night. Kagami smiled; a full set. She liked that thought. Spica, Miator, and Lulim all together. It was kind of poetic. She looked up, concerned, when she heard the word lonely. Someone as kind as Maiko didn't deserve to be lonely. After a moment, she hesitantly reached over and tested her hand on Maikos wrist. "I... I'm happy you're not lonely, M-Maiko-Chan." She gave a tiny smile, trying to reassure her friend. She looked up and nodded at Shuns words. "I'm g-glad you don't have to be lonely either, Shun-San." She looked down, embarrassed. "I... I don't like people being lonely..." Here's to the damned, to the lost and forgotten It's hard to get high when you're living on the bottom

A couple of things happened to help change Maiko's demeanor from the somewhat sad form it'd been after the messages on her phone. Even over on the dance floor, with so many girls between them, she noticed Atsuko actually wave at her. The corner of Maiko's lips turned up as she gave a little wave back, albeit belatedly. Shun and Kagami then both assured her they didn't want her to be lonely. From the latter came a further gesture - she hesitantly put a hand on Maiko's wrist. Kagami's soft touch brought a genuinely warm smile back to Maiko's face.
"How could I be lonely in this company?" she reiterated her previous statement, gently reaching over and placing her free hand on top of Kagami's extended hand.
"And you shouldn't worry about being lonely, either Kagami-chan. As long as I'm on this campus, loneliness will never trouble you. I promise," Maiko elaborated, smiling in the same way as when she'd first met the white haired girl. Then she blinked as a thought occurred to her, "And.. and I'm sure that Shun-san doesn't want you to be lonely either. I'm sure that her magic could help anyone cheer up, too."
Then she asked, "So Shun-san.. when you find an assistant, what would she wear? I mean, as a way to compliment the magician's choice of costume?"
Though the question was directed at Shun, Maiko's hand did not move from atop Kagami's. It was too precious of a moment to let go just yet. And she had no idea just why that would have occurred to her. For now she assumed it was because it was a sign that Kagami was comfortable enough with her to take her hand. Which made Maiko happy - the girl was coming out of her shell, and it was wonderful to see.

Pleasant company would have been an understatement. Dancing with Homura there, under the lights which seemed to cast snowflakes down, was much more than simply pleasant company. Himiko could at times focus so much on one thing that nothing else seemed to exist. It was normally during a competition, where victory was all that mattered and a conscious decision had to be made to narrow focus. Now she only noticed Homura dancing with her, the music wafting into her ears lightly. As if they were the only two on the dancing floor. Her heart stirred again, causing her to blush a little.
"Well, no offense to your family, but I think they should find a cousin, or a niece or nephew to take over the dojo so you can pursue your dream. If you want to run your own restaurant and share your love of cooking with other people, nothing should stop you!" Himiko insisted after her partner confided in her, "Unless you could make some kind of dojo/restaurant that combined both! That would probably be really hard and make no sense, though. But I'll definitely take you up on that offer. Don't worry about what to make me either - make whatever your heart tells you to. Whatever Homura makes, I will eat!"
When Homura agreed to let her lead, Himiko wasted no time doing just that. Her feet shifted subtly along with her body as if this were a martial arts maneuver. It was a little rough but Himiko was in the lead and doing her best to not trip over something or otherwise ruin the moment. Though she was new to this, Homura being in her arms motivated her in a way the music alone couldn't. Maybe a way no other partner could have.
Again she gazed at Homura and gulped. The proud 'warrior of Astraea' was unsure of how to proceed when confronted with this. She was so pretty! Homura might have been required to look her best at all times, but Himiko would've thought her pretty regardless. Maybe due to that intense focus on her partner, she saw no imperfections. As they danced the lights seemed to always hit her just right to make her appear literally radiating with beauty.
Another gulp. Homura's encouragement made her want to fight harder to dance perfectly, even if she stumbled now and then. Her smile was making Himiko's heart feel like it was skipping a beat. Himiko also really liked the orange-brown color of her partner's lovely hair. Compared to the girl she was dancing with, Himiko was rather plain. Which was okay with Himiko. A warrior didn't need to be overly beautiful! Their talent, skill and drive counted for more. And Homura had just called her a natural talent.
Himiko was still smiling, though it was softer and somehow more feminine than usual, "I would say you are the superior dancer, but I'm glad my efforts satisfy you. With the proper motivation nothing is impossible! Not even dancing in a way you've never really done before."
"It's strange, I struggle a lot with French but thlIngan almost comes naturally. To each their own," she remarked thoughtfully. Then she chuckled as she suggested, "If you're going to cook for me, maybe I should sing for you that same song I used to foil my sister's plan! After all, I'm sure you've never heard someone with an angel's voice - as you put it - singing thlIngan!"
With that said she settled back into dancing, enjoying her time with Homura on the dance floor. She really didn't want the evening to ever end at this point. They'd kind of known each other for a long time, but were only now really learning about each other. Did she have a right to feel things stirring deep inside her? Himiko felt very happy being in Homura's company, being close to her, hearing about her dreams. So long as she could continue dancing, that would be enough while she sorted through the jumble of thoughts in her mind.
