I was on another rp a long time ago that had a "random event generator" your rp could be going along as usual when suddenly an admin would bust in to your thread and make something happen, you'd get sick, there'd be a storm or a sudden npc interruption. Not in a random annoying way, but in a way that fit with whatever was going on. I wouldn't do this to you guys beyond just making a suggestion, but I have another idea. Every now and then, a big event happens, such as the fire at Spica, Miator's earthquake ect. What if there was some kind of huge plot that everyone/ anyone could get involved with? Like a mystery or something that players could actually try to solve and an admin could inturrupt threads about the girls solving it with clues or something? Like you're rping as usual when an admin pops in and mentions a key or some other event you triggered to get to the next part. Or We come up with a series of site wide story arcs and have people sign up to be the characters to lead the arc? Or We twist the original boundaries of sp to include supernatural events or other non canon themes just during the arc until it is over and then everything goes back to normal. Almost mixing fan fiction with rp... Just ideas...

Hey Rin!
I am all for these ideas, they sound like a lotta fun. I especially like adding in some fun mysteries into the mix, especially when dealing with a location that's as old as the campus. I'm also kind of digging the idea of the odd paranormal mystery popping up.
Might also be fun to have an arc that could span a year or two, that could involve some if these elements.

YES, I would be totally okay with all of this. MOAR DRAMA AND MOAR TORTURE! Also, I would be totally okay with more weirdness here. Totally okay with that. One thing I would ask is that us non-admin people have a way to suggest ideas for arcs.

Let's start here!
Arc ideas anyone?
I was thinking arc threads could be labeled as episodes as the thread titles to set them apart from regular threads.
I also think these arcs should be able to happen in a way that still allows life to continue as usual for people not participating in that arc. And no arc should ever have the direct intent of making anyone etoile or break our god mode rule. Girls should never become inhuman or have magic powers, but supernatural things might happen around them. Interacting with npc ghosts or stuff like that might be okay.
So with that in mind, let's brainstorm shall we? :3

I think some sort of game sounds fun, like a mystery or something. Or maybe a certain grade could go on a class trip to another country or something? But I definitely like this:
"Like a mystery or something that players could actually try to solve and an admin could inturrupt threads about the girls solving it with clues or something? Like you're rping as usual when an admin pops in and mentions a key or some other event you triggered to get to the next part."
Or having to sign up for something~ I'm in universal studios right now so all I can think about is Harry Potter~ I don't know how we could use that, though, or how many people would want to.

With the new boards under Miator, there's definitely a mystery there. Catacombs, witchcraft, some kind of magic tree. There's potential for an awesome story there. Definitely tied into Miator's past.
Thing is, i don't know what that could be. I have some ideas but I'm not sure how to implement them.
Edit:
Okay so how about this, long ago before Miator was built, the catacombs were originally nothing but an underground river found by traveling religious zealots. Thinking it was a miracle, they built a church there. They buried their dead near the river, adding to it and expanding it every year. As the centuries went on and the group died off, the church was later repopulated by nuns. Some of them however were not so invested in the religion they represented and used the catacombs as a means to practice their more pagan beliefs.
During the second world war, the catacombs were expanded again into a bunker, that was thankfully never used and was reinvented as another burial chamber. The group of witch nuns would invite new girls into their circle until nearly the whole of the church was involved.
As time passed, things changed, to protect themselves from the angry spirits of the true nuns inhabiting the catacombs, the girls built the witch's circle. But it wasn't enough. One of the girls finally wanted out, scared senseless she ran from the tombs only to become lost in the chambers where she slipped and fell by the waterway and died.
The witchs mourning their sister wished to right the wrong and bring her back to life. The legend goes that what they summoned into the body was not the sister...or even human...they had no choice but to kill her again. Believing they would be punished by their goddess of judgement, they each vowed in her memory to never attempt such things ever again. They buried her in the tree chamber and supposedly converted back to regular nuns. Letting their crime fall into legend. The school was founded by one of the few remaining women of the original covenant who went by the chosen name st miator.
Of couse today not many nuns know about the catacombs or the dark history. But the stories come from somewhere, and the spirits deep in the catacombs, are very real. Including a journal documenting the terrible fate of all who might enter the witch's circle...
The arc begins when someone finds the journal somewhere, in the church, catacombs or even in the miator head chancellor's office and.....well after that it's up to them.

One question. Would each story arc have (for lack of a better term) a 'dungeon master' of sorts to drop clues/drive the story so it doesn't stagnate?

This sounds awesome!
I think this could be a good springboard into some other arcs as well. Once one spirit has found a tasty little section of reality, I'm sure it'll have some buddies that will want to come over.
Anyhow, I currently have Shun and Company wandering around the catacombs. They could stumble across the journal while their down there. Also, Coyote has a secret stash in the church's belfry. She could stumble across such an item when she goes to fetch something. She's also searching for information on Hiroko's missing sister which could lead her to the journal if she sneaks into the Miator chancellor's office.
Maybe there could be scraps of the journal spread around the campus? Pages lost and hidden away so as to secure the secret of the circle. But, if one of the students only knows half of the story, they might accidentally bring the spirit back and put all of Astraea into danger. Then, those students who have found the missing journal pages have to find each other and find out a way to defeat the spirit.

Ah yes this all sounds so exciting! I would love one of my two charries in it. Kura because of her good relationship with nuns she can ask around or Faith because she is never where she is meant to be, she would totally stumble upon something!
I agree with the dungeon master idea, so events can be interjected in it and make sure the plot keeps moving. Someone to sort of organise it. I think it should be well organised and some people people should have big parts of it and a few others minor parts, like appearing only once or so if they don't want to be a big part.

Yes there almost has to be a DM. And I think the person who invented the arc, should do it. I say this so that if someone other than an admin comes up with an arc that we decide to use, they get to dm it because it's their story.
If I go first, then it gives everyone else an example to work from. That's okay right?
On that note, yes, I really like the idea of the pages being scattered. I went to bed last night wondering why it would have been like that or who might have done that. Maybe St. Miator thought the journal in whole was dangerous, but too important to destroy, so she hid the pages. Her motives though don't really matter though.
I was thinking that when a page is found, let me know somehow and I will post in the thread with what the page says. Then you can go on from there.
Now I just have to decide if the pages should be found in order or not. It would make more sense if they were mixed up, but then the story might get confusing. What do you think?

Make more sense if they were mixed up. Unless the characters got EXTRAORDINARY lucky. If I were you, I'd write them all up in advance, and then pick and choose, have sorting them out be part of the puzzle, have half of key sentences at the top and bottom of the pages, just to troll with people.

Lol not that mixed up, i just wrote out all of them. They are more like passeges than full pages, but I think it's perfect. I might actually literally cut up the paper, mix them up in a bowl and blindly pull each one out as they are found. So that it's totally random. XD
On that note, just let me know where to interject with a page. There are eleven "pages" total. So search away, I will happily stalk all threads that contain a need for pages once I've been told to read them. XD oh and someone should find the empty bindings too, or maybe the rest of the journal which is either empty or filled with regular boring nun stuff with the interesting pages obviously torn out.
Hey this part of the journal could be somewhere really obvious since all the taboo stuff was torn out. But it would definitely raise questions, why would a nun, especially one of st Miator's founders have anything to hide?

I have two threads where a page or something like that could pop up. In the catacombs with the Occult Research Club. Kakura or Hiroko could stumble across them once everyone gets themselves together and they really start to explore their surroundings.
Also (or alternately if being in two of these threads is too much) if I use my open thread in the church with Coyote I think I might need to edit that around a little bit to make room for the discovery of that page while she's up creating her little hidey hole. Perhaps she could find a hiding spot that already exists and finds a page tucked away in there?
Let me know if that would work and I'll hop on over to fix that thread up.
