I say it is a fun variety and not intimidating at all, granted I love multiple topics so I am just a single voice on this.

I'd say no more than 2 events at a time. And they should probably different, ie, olympics and anime convention/marathon thing or something else along those lines.

Also agreed with Sara. Two events, maybe 3 tops, would be best for most seasons. Maybe start them at different times too, so people don't get overwhelmed.

One event per month for example, the winter ball at the start of winter, and the Christmas thread half way through? Instead of posting both on the first day? My only problem is I want people to have time to enjoy the threads, two months of time to post is nicer I think.

Well one per month wouldn't be ideal maybe, I was thinking maybe one one week and then one the next week, particularly to give a frame of reference on -when- they're happening. So chronologically, whichever comes first is what happens first (and then they can talk about the former thread in the latter thread) even though they're both technically available for posting at the same time. Does that make sense?

I see what you mean, makes sense now. That could work.
So which ones should we do now, during summer, and during this upcoming fall?

Well for fall, I like the costume party idea.

So I know that the Winter Ball is a thing in the Winter, but another winter holiday is Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday/Carnival.
Mardi Gras kind of goes along with the Catholic faith because it is a week before Ash Wednesday and the month of Lent. It is a time to indulge before this fasting period.
It's filled with celebrations. Lots of food and parades and music...and some not so classy things. But here, we can always keep it clean. But I like the idea of having a straight up party for the students. The balls and dances are very lovely, but they seem so very proper and elegant where you have to constantly worry about keeping up the rules of school hours. A party allows our characters to be casual while still having a social event. Also, there is no pressure for dates during Mardi Gras-which is something that I personally felt nervous when it came to the balls and dances.
I dunno...just a thought that came up with the fact that Mardi Gras was last night.
