What kind of clothes does you character wear when she's not in uniform? Flowing dresses in floral colors, or neutral, nature-inspired outfits of browns and greens or golds. She prefers sensible shoes, such as boots or slip-ons, rather than fancy heels. For decoration she'll wear beaded necklaces, wooden jewellery or cute things, but she rarely wears any metal.
What Clubs is you character involved in?
Book Club: Yes
Other - Environmental Club (planting trees around Astarea, recycling campaigns, fundraisers for environmental groups, etc)
Is your character on the Student Council? - Yes
If yes, what does your character think of the student council president, Naomi Shizuoka? Anja thinks that Naomi is quite a character, and admires her for her open mind and her kindness, although her flirtatious nature makes Anja a little wary of trying to make friends with her - she isn't very good with overbearing people.
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Anja is a relatively quiet, short-spoken person, partially because of her accent which many she is self concious about. However, she has strong opinions and ideals about the world, and if pushed enough will voice them.
When interacting with others Anja tends to be very sweet and demure, preferring to follow others' suggestions than do things that she wants to do, though when involved in something she particularly enjoys she can become very energetic and animated.
Anja cannot stand cruelty in any form, making her very involved in human and animal rights movements. The idea of a person hurting another living creature is terrifying to her, and as such became a vegetarian in her first year at Astarea. She is also very environmentally aware, and worries greatly about the state of the natural world.
Anja's other interests seem to be a little bit strange for a girl as sweet as her, especially because she spooks so easily - she loves horror stories, particularly classic novels such as Dracula or H.P Lovecraft, and can often be found reading books from her homeland's folklore as well as from around the world, however she knows the difference between fiction and reality and enjoys scary stories anyway. She has been known to dabble in the occult, owning a deck of tarot cards in her dorm, though sticks to relatively tame subject matter, such as basic divination and meditation.
Anja believes she has the soul of a rabbit, that was displaced somehow before she was born, but keeps this fact a secret because the one time she mentioned it, she was dismissed as having a very active imagination.
What does you character think of the Etoile position as a whole? Anja doesn't understand it - she thinks it's romantic and sweet, and also a good way to keep students in line, but it just seems so different from anything she'd ever heard of that she's still trying to wrap her mind around it.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday? Anja wouldn't mind being Etoile someday.
What does your character think of Shizuka Myuzu and Chokone Manatsu, the current etoiles? She thinks they make an incredibly attractive pair, and Chokone seems to be such a nice girl. Anja would like to be friends with her, but hasn't exactly had a chance with how busy Chokone always seems to be. Shizuka seems to be a wonderful young woman that Anja looks up to, because in her eyes she seems incredibly mature, and she understands why Chokone would want to be around her so much.
What does your character think of the other schools? Anja is unconcerned with the rivalry between Miator and Spica and will make friends in any of the schools given the chance.
~History~
History before Astraea Hill:
Anja was born and raised in Sävsjö, Sweden, on the outskirts of the relatively small town. Her grandfather runs a moderately sized law firm in Jönköping City proper, and so Anja has always had her needs provided for by them, never going without. Unfortunately, this outcast her quite a bit, with other children being around her only because she had money, and they wanted to use her for it.
Her parents noticed her loneliness, and decided that she needed to get away from the small town. One of her relatives had attended Astarea Hill when she was a little older Anja's age, and so her parents agreed that going out of country would be a good experience for her. They hired a tutor to teach her conversational Japanese for a year and a half before she was enrolled at Lulim Girl's School.
First Year: Anja arrives at Astarea Hill. Anja is still tutored after school hours by one of the older students in Japanese, but has a good grasp of the language even if she is not completely fluent. She still tends to respond in Swedish without thinking, though. She joins her clubs, and makes a few friends. Although her grades aren't at the top of the class, she still manages to keep up relatively well, especially thanks to other students being kind enough to help her. During the summer she visited home, which is a relief because she had suffered rather severe homesickness for most of her first year.
Second Year: Anja just finished her second year. She is still being tutored in Japanese, but now has a firm near-fluency, though mistakes are still common in spoken language and much more common in written. She doesn't talk much, because she is self-concious about her accent, but she joined the student council this year so that she could get better about her self confidence, and also because having her mind on something serious might help her still lingering homesickness. The year did well to help with this, but she still has a long way to go.

Her cards had prepared her for turbulence, though not in the weather sense but in the sense of a turbulent, changing life. A quick reading in the morning before getting on the air plane had told her all she'd needed to know about the day to come. The ride had been long and rather uneventful, although the nice stewardess had taken good care of the twelve year old travelling alone - not something that happened often, mind you, but it was her reality as of now. She had spent most of her time listening to her music player, and she wondered if she'd even have anything in common with the girls at her new school.
Lulim's girl's school, one of three super-famous worldwide private schools. She had just gone to the nearest public school back home, but hadn't really managed to make any friends. Her Aunt had gone to Astarea Hill, but she had gone to Miator, whereas Anja was going to Lulim.
Now she sat in a car, leaning against the window as she gazed out over the rolling countryside, one of the nuns from the school having come to get her to bring her to the campus. It wasn't often that someone went to Astarea without even any family in the area, but the woman didn't seem to resent her for it. A few times the woman had tried to make conversation, but Anja had only politely humored her and she'd since given up. Anja simply didn't feel in the mood for conversation - the reality that she wouldn't be seeing her family for almost a full year had sunk in while she was on the plane, and it made her feel sick to her stomach.
She only came to realise that she had fallen asleep when she was gently shook awake by the nun. Rubbing her eyes, she peered around the campus before undoing her seatbelt and sliding out of the car. Her legs felt like jelly and it took her a few moments to get her bearings before grabbing her duffel bags from the back seat and hoisting them over her shoulders to follow the lady inside. This was the start of her first year at Lulim Girl's School, and she was determined to make the best of it.
