What kind of clothes does your character wear when she's not in uniform? Due to the fact that she doesn’t have a lot of money, Sara’s non-uniform clothes tend to be older and a little worn out, and some of them are a little small on her. As a result, she wears her uniforms as often as possible. Her Swimsuit is a one piece that’s plum colored, and is one of the few new non-uniform clothes she has. Her wardrobe is rather eclectic due to its nature of being mostly from thrift stores, but she tries to make it as consistent as possible.
What Sports/activities is you character involved in?
Choir: Yes
Swim Team: Yes
Other? - None, yet.
Is your character on the Student Council? Nope!
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more: Sara is generally rather friendly and cheerful, and tries to “go with the flow” as much as possible. She is a follower rather than a leader, and is a hard worker. However, she is very self conscious about the way she looks, particularly what she wears, due to the fact that her family is very poor. As a result, she’s very exacting about her appearance, always making sure that her uniforms are in pristine condition. Sara is very energetic, but surprisingly clumsy, and will often forget to pay attention to her surroundings when she’s talking with her friends. Despite all this, she’s still a little withdrawn, still mourning the deaths of her parents, even four years later. Even though she tries to hide it, it’s still obvious to those that know her that she’s still depressed about losing the majority of her family. She tries to distract herself from this by putting her all into her school work, extracurricular activities and spending time with her friends. She’s been slowly getting better, but it’s been a long process. Though she’d never admit it, and never shows it, Sara is very jealous of people who are better off than she is, and detests people who lord their good fortune over others. She is also something of an insomniac, often experiencing periods of transient, and sometimes acute, insomnia.
What does your character think of the Etoile position as a whole? She thinks that while it's a good idea on the whole- the two best students to represent the schools, it promotes a sort of favoritism toward the school the pair comes from (assuming they're from the same school). Assuming they aren’t, it still puts the school that that doesn’t have an Etoile at a disadvantage, as she feels the Etoiles will promote their own school more than the others.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday?
She's started thinking about it, but is unsure if she'd be right for the position.
What does your character think of Shizuka Myuzu and Chokone Manatsu, the current etoiles? Though she doesn’t know either of them very well, Sara thinks that the two are well suited for the position. She has a lot of respect for the both of them, and would like to think she’s a little like Shizuka. She thinks that Chokone is absolutely adorable, and in all honesty, would love to look like her.
What does your character think of the other schools? She thinks Miator is too conservative and restricting, and most definitely not the school she would want to go to. On the other hand, she likes Le Rim, but feels it doesn’t put enough emphasis on sporting activities.
~History~
Please write in 100 words or more your character's history before she came to Spica.
History before Astraea Hill: Her father was a Trekkie, and her mother loved Arthurian legends and the works of Shakespeare. Evan and Marie Albins were originally from Southern California, and that was where her older brother and only sibling George Arthur Albins was born. When George was five, the family moved to Sendai. Her father ended up working for a local business, and her mother became an english teacher at a nearby school.
Sara was an unexpected child, in fact, after George's birth, her parents were told that they would most likely be unable to conceive again. Nine years younger than her brother, the age gap meant that they didn't interact like most siblings would, however, George went out of his way to look after his little sister. Sara never really cared that they weren't especially well off, and was very happy with her life.
Of course, that all changed when she was nine years old, and her parents were killed in a car accident while coming home on an unusually cold winter evening. Sara was nine years old and George was eighteen, and as they had no other family in Japan or in the US, as both of their parents were only children and their grandparents were dead as well, George had to drop out of college and take over as breadwinner and care for Sara.
In the following months, with her brother working multiple jobs to keep them afloat, and having almost no time to spend with Sara, she threw herself in to her schoolwork and extracurriculars with a vengeance, focusing all her energy on them, and spending nearly every moment of her time working on something. Her already high grades rose even higher as she tried to bury her grief and anger, but was exceedingly emotional when it came to the subjects of family and death. She very rapidly became extremely adept at masking her emotions within a very short amount of time, though there were always near moments when she struggled to hide them when it became particularly painful for her. However, her insomnia developed around this time, and though she's never told anyone about it, it has caused her some problems from time to time.
She spent the following three years in similar fashion, throwing herself in everything she was involved in with incredible zeal and intensity, and George eventually pressured her into applying for a scholarship to attend Spica, and to her surprise, she was accepted. She was incredibly nervous about attending the school, as she had never attended a boarding school before.
First Year: N/A
Second Year: Her first year at Spica didn't go exactly as she'd planned it, but she enjoyed it all the same. She joined the Choir, Martial Arts and Swim Team at the first opportunity, and much like before, threw herself into all of it with what had become her usual zeal and intensity. She was pleased that her roommate, Coyote-Hymn Foster, was easy to get along with and didn't mind Sara's long hours. Though she spent most of her time working on schoolwork or in her sports or even exploring the campus, there were a few memorable events that stood out from the rest of the year, including Karida's 'training' for Coyote, her near meltdown in choir, the beach party, meeting Jojo and teaching her how to swim over the summer, despite a rather disastrous first lesson.
Third Year: In the fall and winter, Sara had a brief relationship with Jojo, and attended the winter ball with her new girlfriend. However, this relationship was ill fated, and ended rather abruptly when Jojo left the school with no explanation. Around the same time, Sara aided a Le Rim student, Hiroko Takashina, discover who her long lost sister was. However, aside from that, her third year was far worse than her second. Jojo's departure seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back, and Sara spent the rest of the year steadily spiraling into a major episode of depression, which caused her to lose much of her energy and stop attending her extracurriculars, and sometimes even her classes.
Fourth Year:
Fifth Year:
Sixth Year:
Sample Post: Sara had to admit, Astrea was beautiful. However, that didn't change the fact that it was a very large campus, and currently, as a result of that fact, she was hopelessly lost. She had all her things with her, and was supposed to go to the dorms and get set up in her room before heading to her classes. Despite the fact that she'd been given directions, she'd obviously made a wrong turn somewhere, and now she was here. Wherever on campus 'here' was.
Great, just great. The first day here and you're already screwing up. she thought as she looked around, trying to figure out where she should go. "Come on, Sara, get it together!" she muttered as she started walking again, choosing a path at random. At the very least, she'd probably run into someone who could direct her to the dorms, and if not, the path had to go somewhere, it might go to the dorms.
