~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL? DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE IN THIS WORLD? FOR A GIRL? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I think ... I've made a wrong turn? Where ... am I?" Rika had been trying to find her way to the library but somehow she managed to get herself turned around and end up on another area of Astrea grounds altogether. Where she was didn't even look like her school but rather one of Miator's rival schools to be exact. Judging by the uniforms of the girls that were present here in what appeared to be a garden of roses, this looked like the Lulim campus. The uniforms they were were plaid pink skirts so she was sure these were Spica girls. Although there were girls from that school here as well as girls from her own school. Right in the middle of the garden itself were tables decorated with clothes, decorations, food and beverages. She wasn't sure if she herself was supposed to be here but no one had noticed her enough to tell her such so she cautiously pressed forward and began to look around. It's not as if this area wasn't beautiful. It was. Incredibly beautiful. Nothing that she had ever seen before. The flowers were taken such good care off that she couldn't help but to stop and kneel down to take in the scent of them. "They're so lovely and they smell nice. I wonder what all of this is for. I don't think I got a memo or anything about a social event going on." She wasn't sure if she was supposed to know what this was for and what it was about but it didn't seem all that bad. The girls that were present seemed to be having a good time, talking with each other. Rika was too busy admiring the flowers, proceeding to reach her hand forward to touch one of them. Her mind was no longer on finding the library anymore. The hazel eyed girl wanted to know more about this garden and the event that was taking place with all the girls here.
There wasn't a moment's rest of the caramel-skinned girl. Every couple of moments, she would scurry obediently off to a table to serve a girl or attend to a request or check up on the chattering group. Most visits were quick - she wasn't the star of the public eye. No, most girls longed for the attention of the Princes that waltzed about. The Lulim student didn't even think there were that many girls who resembled boys in Astrea. She wasn't too much of an extrovert herself, but being able to be in the rose garden made the position worth it. Lumi loved roses. They were the only things that kept her sane way back when. She felt secure in their flowery embrace and expressed disappointment when they wilted or died without a chance to reach their full potential. She kept an eye out for swaying flowers as she worked, making sure none got trampled or were wilting. Everyone around her sparkled just as radiantly as the luxurious flowery figures if not even more. She, the thornless rose, had no right to be in their presence at all. She was just a mere shadow; a thornless rose; in the wake of their blossoming beauty. An outlier like her would only poison their beauty with her existence here. Those were the thoughts that always revolved around her head when tending the clothed tables.
"There you are. Please, don't be hesitate to inform me if you need anything else." She supplied the robotic reply, and flashed a sweet smile, her emerald eyes reflecting its warm curvature. She'd said that so many times now that she could say it the same each time without even trying. The girl waved her off and laughed at something with one of her friends. Lumi bowed and stepped back, nearly colliding into a passing girl. It was crowed here, and sometimes there were a few bitter, bossy girls who attended, but that was what Lumi enjoyed. Serving others higher than herself, being able to tend to even just one of the lovely roses of Astrea. Her own petals might have bloomed, but they paled so far in comparison to every swan in Astrea. She would always be that ugly duckling looking up at the beautiful, glistening beings before her. Fixing her round glasses, Lumi glanced up from the grass, painting the scene with her green gaze. It glistened over a girl whom seemed enthralled by the roses. No one seemed to have noticed her. Was she here for the same reason the other girls were here? Lumi watched her for a moment from the center of the activity. She was moving towards the roses, even taking a moment to stop and go to touch one. Being the guardian of the roses as she was, Lumi moved silently past a few tables and curiously approached from a diagonal angle. Her stature began sagging into itself as she approached out of habit, pedestaling the girl as a higher status than her before even meeting her. The tight coiled braid of hair around her head bounced ever so slightly when she moved.
"Ah, welcome to the rose garden, miss." She kept her voice soft as she spoke as to not possibly startle her, a very slight Hindi accent slipping in with the fluent Japanese. A bow lowered her torso parallel to the grass.
(I hope you are alright with me posting in here. If not, just let me know~)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL? DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE IN THIS WORLD? FOR A GIRL? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (OOC: I don't mind at all. I was hoping someone would respond to it and it didn't just sit forever, lol.)
"EEP!" Rika had become so entranced by the roses in the garden that she hadn't noticed the dark skinned girl come up to her until she'd said something. Startled, she'd immediately stood up, believing herself to be in trouble for being here since she'd never been to this part of the grounds before. Otherwise, she'd probably visited here frequently during her first week of being a student. But she was still trying to get situated and learning where everything is. She was still getting loss a lot of the time. She was technically looking for the library but somehow ended up here. She blushed in embarrassment and bowed apologetically to the girl despite being welcomed to the rose garden, figuring the older girl was just humoring her. At least she pegged her to be older since she clearly wasn't as short as Rika herself and she also had an elegant and beautiful appearance. She stood back up straight to speak. "G-Gomen nasai. If I'm not supposed to be here, I-I'll leave. I-I was looking for the library anyway and got lost and ended up here," Rika admitted, stammering due to her nervousness.

Oh my, it appeared as if she frightened the girl! Lumi quickly patched together an apology, never coming up from her polite bow even when it was returned. No matter who the person was, Lumi always held them in higher status to themselves. Her emerald eyes fluttered open when the girl stammered out the reason for her presence.
"Huh?" She lifted her head a little to look at the pretty, young girl. "Leave? Oh, no, no, everyone is welcome here!"
The purple haired girl found it kind of cute that the girl had gotten lost trying to find the library. It reminded her of a certain war-veteran school officer that had once gotten lost trying to kind the staff section of the dormitories. A smile flickered across her caramel lips at the memory. Anyways, the girl seemed rather new, so it was understandable that she would get lost. Even if she wasn't new, Lumi would still drop everything to help her. After all, she was meant to serve, not to ignore someone in need or otherwise. What did throw her for a moment was the girl's attire herself. This was not a student of Lulim nor Spica. This girl was from Miator. A Miator student on the Lulim campus not here for the host club in Lulim's Rose Garden... This girl was really lost! That is, if she was trying to find the Miator library.
"Ah, the library? I can humbly escort you there if you would like, miss. Although, if you would prefer to stay here for a little while and enjoy the Rose Garden and the host club event, then you are graciously invited too." Lumi spoke only words of respect and assistance, giving a small smile of reassurance to calm the girl.
(Oh good ^ ^ It would be no fun if it just sat forever, hehe. )

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL? DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE IN THIS WORLD? FOR A GIRL? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Really? I'd appreciate it so much!" she exclaimed happily, then blinked a few times when told what this social gather was all about. "Host club? Is that what this is?" Rika asked, partially turning to look behind her at all the girls that were present there. It would appear that more girls from Spica and Lulim combined seemed to have gathered since the last few moments she'd paid attention to the area. Wow she was really lost. She'd gathered already that she was far from her own campus and that this was Lulim's campus. But getting from here and back to her own was an entirely different problem altogether. She'd felt incredibly embarrassed because of it but she was probably not the only girl that's gotten lost on campus before. She's probably just the first one that go lost and going completely so far that she ended up on another school's campus. 'I'm such an idiot. I really need to pay more attention to where I'm going. I knew I read that map wrong,' she thought with a small sigh. At least the girl in front of her was nice about wanting to help her. It wouldn't have made it any easier, let alone eased her embarrassment if she'd acted differently towards her for ending all the way over here. Plus, she didn't know that this rose garden is where a "host club" was. Rika had never heard of such a thing before so looking from the group of girls she looked to the dark skinned girl and asked her, "What's ... a host club? I've never heard or seen one before?" She'd been cooped up in a hotel room with her brother for so long that it's not surprising that she didn't know what a host club was, let alone knowing that such a thing existed. It didn't look bad or anything. It looked fun but she didn't want to be a party crasher so she stayed off to the side to avoid being noticed. That didn't do much good since she was still noticed but she wasn't in trouble and that was a plus.
Lumi's smile brightened slightly. "Of course."
It seemed like the girl didn't know what a host club was. Lumi hadn't known too much either until her first attendance of the event, which, of course, was tending to attendees since she had signed up for it. She just wanted a chance to be in the rose garden more surrounded by the flowery faces of the beautiful spiraling blossoms. The large roses were pretty, but it was the smaller teacup roses that made the garden fuller and more resplendent. "Ah, host club?" She raised a tan hand to her sun-kissed lips, thinking for a moment. Her body was still arched in the bow. "Um... It's an event put on by the members of Lulim's host club where the girls all over the school can attend and be served by them, like a sort of tea party or gathering. Of course, all of the waitress's are either the Princesses or Princes of Astrea." She paused for a moment, then feeling embarrassed, lowered her head a little more in apology. "I sincerely apologize it wasn't one of them that could offer you a greeting."
Yes, she was way below the level of every waitress here. Even the attendees were so much more beautiful and amazing. And then there was her, the rose without thorns and a marionette to whoever pleased to come along and mess with the open strings, tarnishing the beauty of the beauties that made up the student staff. Ah, she wasn't even deserving of standing here among them nor the guests. It always made her feel so out of place and just a bother to those who came only for glimpses of those marvelous Princes and Princesses. The meek half-Japanese girl shook the thoughts from her mind and returned her full attention back to pretty girl in front of her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL? DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE IN THIS WORLD? FOR A GIRL? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rika shook her head from side to side. "Ah iie, it's quite fine. I don't mind at all. I was ... actually trying to hide anyway. I didn't know what was going on and because of that, I didn't want to interrupt anyone so I stayed off to the side." She turned again, her eyes looking upon the beautiful roses in the garden that flourished in the sun's bright light. "Besides, the roses here are amazing and they smell so nice. I've never see a garden like this before. I couldn't help but admire it," Rika admitted to the older girl, sheepishly rubbing the back of her head. "At least I know what I host club is now. My brother Riko-nii-san would be more into something like this since it's filled with a bunch of girls. I'm not into parties like this. I don't mind them but I think everything and everyone has their own unique beauty to it and it should still be admired regardless, don't you think?" she asked of the girl, having carefully pulled off a rose from it's still and handed it to the dark skinned girl, while wearing a smile on her face. "Atashi wa, Nakahara Rika desu."

Ah, that made perfect sense. Trying to hide away so she didn't interrupt anything that was going on with the host club. When the girl mentioned the roses, Lumi's whole face lightened. She loved it when people took interest in the roses. This was her favorite place on Astrea besides the Greenhouse. Many often ignored the rose garden or just left the roses to wilt. The rest of the host club was supposed to tend to it, but many usually didn't. Since Lumi loved roses, she always took it upon herself to nurture the roses herself, tending it each with a nurturing hand. Sometimes she got so caught up in caring for them that she fell asleep sometimes right outside here! "It's beautiful, isn't it?"
She gave a nod to the girl's words. It was kind of ironic that the girl ended up here, having mentioned she was not being too fond of parties. This was one of the host club's louder days. Most of the time, it was quieter, but that was only when many of the Princes or Princesses were absent. If it was just her here, nobody would probably show up, not that Lumi would mind much. She wasn't much of a Princess anyways. Well, not with her hair up like it always was, her aunt and cousin would argue. "That's true." She nodded.
Then a rose was offered to her. A blush blossomed across her caramel cheeks, the rosy pink haze contrasting strangely with the natural tan. Her emerald eyes widened to larger, sparkling green pools. Nakahara Rika. In her flustered state, she almost didn't quite catch the name. She scrambled to compose herself. "I-It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Rika."
She was already bowing, so she stooped lower. The steep angle loosened a few purple threads from the braided coil holding up the rest of her heavy curled hair. She brushed a few back behind an ear as she rose back up, this time coming to her full height. She accepted the rose with an abashed smile - was she even worthy of accepting the friendly offer? - the cherry-colored suffusion still livid on her cheeks. Keeping in the character and air of the host club, she ever so gently took the much paler hand that had offered the rose and pressed a quick yet gentlemanly kiss to the back of the hand before letting it go, hoping the action hadn't disturbed the girl at all. Even not tending tables, she was still in the vicinity of the garden, and had to keep in character as was required. "Lumisade Shirokawa. If "Lumisade" is too long, you may just refer to me as "Lumi", if you see fit.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL? DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE IN THIS WORLD? FOR A GIRL? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The rose garden was beautiful but she found it to be such a shame that while everyone was being pampered by "princes" and "princesses", the garden was being ignored. No one was admiring it but rather admiring the beauty on the surface of ones faces. Rika didn't understand the fancy with appearances but she was young and there were still a lot of things she didn't understand. That and the fact that this would be her first time interacting with others around her own age and older in an actual school environment. The girls here were going to be interested in different things, many of those things she would find to be strange. It wouldn't take long for the hazel eyed girl to figure out all the things she didn't understand but it is possible she' find it strange regardless. The idea of a host club wasn't a bad idea but the meaning behind it needed to be better in her opinion. Maybe. She wasn't a hopeless romantic but rather a short little idealist so her opinion was considered biased. But it was nice that this girl that stood before her agreed with her and didn't think what she said was silly.
She even accepted the rose she'd pulled off the stem which made her smile. This was the first girl that's interacted with her as well as been helpful and really nice. Genuinely nice. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Lumisade Senpai," Rika said cheerfully as she giggled. Although she was taken by surprise when the older girl took her hand and planted a kiss on the back of it. It lasted for a brief moment before she'd released her hand. The action itself had caused the young girl's cheeks to be stained pink as she was unsure of how to react to such a thing. She figured this was why the girls came here to the rose garden that were part of the host club. To be pampered with compliments and kind words. It made a little sense for those that were self conscious about themselves and felt the need to be told they had a life worth living and that their existence meant something.
Must be nice. They wouldn't have to worry about whether or not if they'll get sick again in the near future like Rika sometimes worries. While she might be fine now, there was no telling when her illness will resurface. She was hoping it didn't which was why she wanted to go to school in the first place. To experience what it was like to be a teenager, make friends, maybe get married someday. Though the thought of living long enough to fall in love with someone to get married seemed so far away. So ... far out of Rika's reach. It'd be a nice thing to experience though. For now, she was fine trying to make as many friends as she possibly could and she saw a possible friendship with Lumisade. Realizing she'd been quiet for too long, she rose her hand to her mouth, though her blush steady remained. "G-Gomen for staring, Lumisade Senpai. I just ... gomen ..." she apologized, not sure what the right words were to say in response to the kiss on her hand that the girl had given her.
Being called "senpai" almost made Lumi laugh. She wasn't sure how old this girl was, but she looked around the same age. The purple-haired girl just smiled. It looked as if she was looking into a mirror after she had delivered a kiss to the back of Rika's hand. The young girl's face was dyed in a similar cherry hue. A small giggle slipped past Lumi's tan lips. It wasn't meant, but she hadn't been able to help it.
"Ah, there is no need to apologize, miss Rika." She corrected, giving a dismissing wave of a caramel hand.
The other hand held the rose gently, pressing almost no pressure to it as to not crush it. Many often forgot how fragile roses were. Some were like glass, others, like fire, with a fortification of prominent thorns to guard them. People were no different. Everyone had thorns, no matter how small or dull they were. If you did something wrong, you got pricked. That was the case in almost everyone Lumi had come across except for herself. She had no thorns to guard her being nor retaliate if hurt. Granted, it made her extremely vulnerable, but that only augmented her insecure philosophy regarding herself as a whole. The philosophy that couldn't be altered no matter how many petals were plucked off the exhibited purple rose.
Emerald eyes flashed briefly back to the collection of tables and chattering girls. She wouldn't be needed for a while. It wasn't like the girls were all that welcoming or pleased with her presence anyways; the beautiful princesses and especially the princes it what they had came to see and interact with, after all. "I'm glad you are interested in the roses, Miss Rika. Not many even spare a glance at them when they are here."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL? DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE IN THIS WORLD? FOR A GIRL? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She was glad that Lumisade wasn't offended but became curious as to why she'd laughed. She didn't believe she'd said anything funny but maybe she had and she didn't realize it. Ah well. She wasn't upset at her for being so quiet at not responding right away to the kiss she'd given her on the back of her hand so that was good. In fact, Rika began to feel a little more comfortable around the other girl and brought her hand down from her lips and placed it behind her back with the other one, retaining her smile. This was nice. Finally having someone to talk to. Maybe she would see this girl again in the future. It was possible though she didn't think it'd be as often since it was clear that from her uniform, they didn't attend the same school. It was a little saddening but there wasn't anything in the rules that prevented the students from all three schools from being friends with each other so she had something to look forward to. She might start coming by the rose garden a little more, if only to just admire the roses. "That's so sad they don't because they're so pretty. I understand a little bit why the other girls come to the host club but it's such a shame to ignore the beautiful scenery and only pay attention to what's in front of them. Though I suppose in a way ... that's comforting to them. Everyone has reasons for doing what they do but honestly, I'm just not someone who puts an emphasis on looks. Besides, it's not like I'm considered pretty anyway so I have nothing to worry about. It's not a big deal," Rika said with a sheepish giggle. Looks weren't everything and they do fade within a year's time but if that's what girls that came here liked, then who was she to judge. If it made them feel happier on the inside then she had no right to take it from them. Deep down, she wanted the same thing but more or less to be around longer rather than feeling pretty or anything. But she was going to remain optimistic and as long as she followed the doctor's orders and took it easy then she might have a fighting chance.

(That's alright)
The girl seemed more relaxed now, which only caused Lumi's smile to broaden. She didn't want to make the girl uncomfortable in anyway, nor feel awkward. Her duty was to serve, after all, not to inhibit. Hearing the young girl's comment on the scenery, she gave a slight nod. The elegant scenery was one of the reasons the host club was situated in Lulim's rose garden in the first place. Many just ignored that luxury now and only paid attention to the grand hosts themselves, misplacing the identity of the true blossoms of beauty. Not to say that the hosts weren't beautiful or eye-catching - well, all of them except her - but everyone just brushed off the surrounding flowery environment. The true reason the host club was set here.
"Oh, Miss Rika, I think you are quite beautiful. You're just as pretty, if not even prettier, then the roses." Lumi spoke truthfully in her soft tone, trying not to sound like she was trying to keep her character as a host this time around. Everyone was beautiful to Lumi. Every girl at Astrea was either a swan or a beautiful rose to her no matter the age or appearance, even if their personalities reflected otherwise. The contents of her own sentence brought the small tinge of blush flaring across her tan cheeks. She twirled the rose gently in the other hand in embarrassment. She wasn't trying to flirt of anything - that would be highly unlike a reserved, timid soul like her. She was just speaking the truth and of what she saw of the bright girl before her. She hoped her rosy words wouldn't cause any awkwardness.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL? DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE IN THIS WORLD? FOR A GIRL? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "A-Arigatou gozaimasu ... demo, you're being too kind but I appreciate the compliment. You're very pretty too, Lumisade Senpai. It almost makes me wish I could grow up faster if I could be just as pretty and beautiful as you are," Rika said honestly with a blush on her face. She'd brought her hands forward and began to twiddled her thumbs in embarrassment at what she'd said. The girl was pretty. Why wouldn't Rika think so? Sure the other girls probably favored other traits in a person but again everyone had a natural beauty to them. Rika did too but part of her just didn't feel naturally beautiful. She was twelve so it'd be highly weird for someone to consider a person her age to be beautiful. However, Lumisade apparently felt otherwise about this and complimented her anyway. She wasn't put off about it and appreciated the girl's honesty and kindness.
The purple rose's stance dropped into more of a timid one and she lowered her head a little at the prospect of having the compliment echoed. The blush scrawled across her face brightened slightly. "Oh, no, Miss Rika, I am not very pleasing to the eye at all, but th-thank you."
That was the truth, to her at least. She didn't think of herself to be pretty in the slightest, though that was part of her submissive philosophy and insecurities. She was glad she hadn't caused any awkwardness for the girl. Just embarrassment. It resurrected the flowery smile back onto her caramel lips. Rika had been looking for the library, hadn't she? Ah, that's right, she had. Lumi had almost forgotten for a second. Coming up from her inward posture, she composed herself and smiled. "Would you like to stay here for a little while, Miss Rika? Or are you ready to go to the library?"
As she spoke, she glanced at a nearby rose. It was a teacup rose, so it was dwarfed by some of the larger others around it. Some of the petals were drooping, weighing down its compact flowery head. It caused a slight frown to cross the Lulim student's lips, and she reached out with her free hand to ever so gently brush a few fingertips at an upward angle below the slanting petals, being very gentle as she attempted to fix them. Sometimes the smaller ones didn't get enough sunlight, since they often got overshadowed by their bigger company, and needed to be adjusted a little in order to capture as much as they could manage. Once fixed, the half-Japanese offered a warm smile to the tiny flower before shifting her focus back to Rika.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE FOR A GIRL? DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE IN THIS WORLD? FOR A GIRL? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Oh no, that's not true! You are very pretty so ... don't sell yourself so short, Senpai," Rika encouraged her, pumping up her fists in the process of trying to do so. She didn't want them both to feel down about not believing themselves to be pretty. If anything, she wanted them both to feel happy and therefore, she didn't want to see Lumisade put herself down because of anything others might've said that made her believe that she wasn't beautiful. She blinked a few times when the girl had mentioned the library. Yes, she' forgotten that she was in search of the library and not the rose garden. But now that she was here, she just had to remember where it was in the near future. Maybe she'll come back from time to time, if to only look at the roses. There was no rule against that so she was probably going to start doing it from now on. "H-Hai. I actually needed to find the library so I'd know where it was. That and I was going to need a few books that I didn't have anyway. I appreciate you helping to show me the way, Lumisade Senpai," she smiled, watching her tend to one of the smaller roses. It looked so easy but technically it wasn't. Rika had no green thumb and she'd end up just probably killing the poor plants on accident. She'll settle for admiring them and Lumisade seemed to know what she was doing so she couldn't help but be intrigued enough to watch her.
