The weather was so perfect, absolutely gorgeous for the date she had basically conned Sadie into. More like blackmailed, but really who is keeping track of that? Both hands were clasped around the straps of her backpack as she strolled along through the now well know orchard. She was even humming softly to herself as she smiled. It'd be nice to see the green haired girl again. Maybe she'd get to try some of her cooking tonight too. This thought brought a brighter smile to her lips and lifted her steps.
It didn't take long to get to the tree the two had first met at. She checked her wrist watch then pursed her lips. Almost an hour early. Okay so Viv had been a bit too excited it seemed and ran out as soon as she had changed after school hours. After all, she couldn't wear her uniform while climbing a tree. The white would get all marked up. She glanced around for a moment or two, listening to the birds twitter back and forth before she shrugged off her paperlined backpack and pulled her dressy top off. If she got a headstart on collecting then they could talk more. At least that was her rational thought.
Now that she was in just a tank top and jeans she could travel up to the higher levels of the tree without a problem. The dark locked girl swung her backpack back on after unzipping it and began her ascent into the tree, plucking any of the fruits that caught her eye on the way by.
She had to climb down a few times to remove the brown paper bag from her backpack and set up a new one in the fabric container. So by time Sadie would arrive three or four paper bags were already filled to the brim and waiting to be collected from the base of the tree. Of course, she had left any apples that weren't ready to fall on the branches to ripen fully. Hopefully they could use all of these, otherwise they would have gone to waste.. Maybe the ones they didn't use they could turn into the headmaster to be used in the kitchens or something.

Sadie had agreed to this because it meant she would get her apples and be free from an annoyance at the time. She was not one to ignore her word, and so here she was, somewhat against her will, and making absolutely zero show of it. She wore her Lulim uniform with absolutely no flair to it at all, had decided against makeup as normal, brought with her only her phone and a bottle of sparkling water as she deemed it customary due to absolutely no reason whatsoever other than she didn't want to show up bare handed, and she had even almost ignored her hair entirely. Instead of that, she straightened it and that was that. This was just upholding her end of the bargain, nothing more, so she wasn't going through hoops about it.
She even took her time getting there, stopping at a tree here and there to pick an apple herself. She only found one she truly enjoyed the look of, and so she ate it while making her way down the orchard. She could tell she was getting closer when she stopped hearing movement and started to only hear the nature surrounding her. It was nice.
But of course that would end soon, as she had a forced date with a rather loud woman. She didn't hate Vivian, not at all. That would be petty. She just... Wasn't really interested in her. Or anyone. Or anything aside from her work, really. She was the kind of person who devoted so much of herself to her work that she forgot how to enjoy things - or for that matter, what it feels like to not have anything to do.
Upon seeing the bags of apples, she did have to nod in reply at the effort that must have been put into acquiring them, but that was about it for recognition.
"Good afternoon, Vivian."

"Evening, Sadie."
Vivian was far more soft spoken today than the first time the two had seen each other. Maybe the quiet of this place had sunk under her skin and calmed a bit of that fiery spirit, highly unlikely, but perhaps.
She dropped from the lower branch and gently deposited the bag next to the rest. Her long digits quickly brushed through her naturally straight locks, trying to remove any sticks and leaves that might have been stuck there.
"I thought you might have forgotten.."
Ah, so that was the real reason for her gentler nature, she had been worried the girl wouldn't show and that was why she didn't stop after the first couple of bags. It was better to keep busy than to fret. She smiled lightly and tilted her head toward the bags before grabbing her shirt.
"Will this be enough or would you like me to collect more?"
With her shirt now tugged back into place and her hair arranged around her, she finally turned fully to her date. A timid smile was offered before she continued.
"I tried to pick from the highest branches since they're the thinnest and would break under the weight of ripe fruit the easiest if it was left. It should produce better since it isn't trying to put nutrients into fully ripened fruit anymore."

There was rarely a moment for Sadie where she genuinely felt badly about her actions, and so seeing this girl's face when she confessed that she thought Sadie wouldn't show really didn't do anything to her. The stoic, emotionless face she always had stayed where it was and so did her monotone voice.
"You said to be here, and so I am." she stated plainly. And then came the talk of apples. Yes, her tactic was technically speaking true, but...
"You realize that the middle of the tree is usually about the same right? Climbing to the highest point does little more than putting your life at risk."
as if to demonstrate, she grabbed one of the branches and pulled herself up to it with one arm, then used the other and her legs to leverage herself so she had a leg over either side of the branch. Riding it like a broom, in a way.
And yes, you probably saw that. You know what I mean.
"Even from here, you could just reach up and pull the higher branches down. It's far less dangerous."

A little hop, swing and twist and she was on the branch next to Sadie's. She had even glanced off to the side when the girl was climbing into the tree. She did have a skirt on afterall and just because Viv is a flirt doesn't mean she's a pervert as well. Her back was pressed up against the trunk while her legs stretched out on the thick branch before her.
"Yeah, I could have. But, I would rather leave the easy to get ones for the nuns. I didn't know if they would come out this far, but.." The dancer shrugged and tucked a few stray strands of hair behind her ear.
"I was careful with my footing. I even tied a lead around my waist so that if a branch broke I wouldn't fall too far." She pointed to the rope that was barely visible in the front pouch of her backpack.
"But thanks for your worries. It's nice to know you care."
Okay, fire definitely wasn't gone. She could definitely be sarcastic still.

Okay, if she wasn't about to listen to fair warnings then Sadie would be done giving them. This part of the date seemed to be more or less about to go in circles anyway, so she just flipped herself down off the branch and back to the ground, landing almost as plainly as her expressions.
"In any event, you chose this spot at this time for a reason." she crossed her arms, not in a pouting way but more in a questioning way. "I believe it's time you show me why."
Right to the point, without a care in the world about the emotions that could be present right now. She simply wanted to get this through, and as bad as that may sound, it was the truth. Sadie's emotional connections were limited, and her range of expression even more so. At the moment, she probably sounded a bit cold. That was fine.
"And please don't do anything dangerous like that again for something as whimsical as this."

Viv shifted, laying forward on the branch, her arms crossed and she rested her cheek against one.
"I researched the best time to pick apples in this climate.. that's the only reason for the date. And I wanted to give you enough time to get whatever you had to do after school finished before you came out here. This tree, because it was where you said you wanted to come to pick the apples for the dish you were planning to sell. Apple Roses and Cider, if I remember right."
Of course she remembered. She had spent plenty of time researching how to make both after talking to Sadie about it. Now Viv was trying hard to not show her growing want to pout, so instead she flipped onto her back to look up at the sky through the branches. Her hands tucked behind her head and she took on a more standoffish attitude.
"Why are you here if you don't want to be? You shouldn't accept things if it'll just bother you." She cast a sideways glance at the girl, before looking up again. "And you're just wasting time."
Why did she want the green haired girl to like her so much? Was it the challenge she presented? To break down her walls? Was it worth it? But why? She'd never had to work to get people to like her at Reinhardt.

Sadie couldn't help but nod along with everything. Yes, everything.
"You're correct about the time." she confirmed. "And you're correct about many other things. This is a waste of time for me."
Harsh.
"But I like to indulge in time wasting activity sometimes. Not often, but sometimes." she gave a tilt of her head, and as if in thought, closed her eyes for a moment before offering her hand to the woman.
"Come on then, let's do things people do on dates. If I'm going to waste my time, I expect you to make sure I enjoy it."
Without actually waiting for the response, she gripped the woman's hand and mingled them together tightly at her side, pulling the girl closer to the tree. She had only the intent to sit down underneath it for a moment, in all honesty.

Is this one of those times?"
Viv reached out and placed her hand in Sadie's then slid out of the tree with an almost unnatural grace, letting herself be led by the slight hand tugging. Now that she was at her side and realized what she was doing, the Knight quickly slid to the ground, pressing her back against the tree and took hold of the girl's hips in a modest way to ease her down onto her lap. Giving her no chance to protest.
"You'll get your skirt dirty if you sit on the ground. Jeans are easier to get stains out of than uniforms."
Her arms slid around Sadie's waist, loosely and she rested her chin on her shoulder, murmuring. "Actually.. I have no idea what I'm doing. I've never been on a date before. But, I'll make it as enjoyable as possible for you. Why don't we play twenty questions or something? I don't know much about you, Miss Sadie."
But I would like too.
"Or we could go for a walk? Maybe take the apples to the cooking club building and I could help you out with whatever you needed to make roses and cider. I'm not the best cook, but I'm pretty okay if you tell me what you want done."

"Yet to be determined." she stated flatly. "But we will see."
There was a thought that came to her. This date was already done before it started wasn't it? That wouldn't do. Sure she was here a pathetically but she still. Showed up so she still set aside a certain time slot for this. She had to fill that time up. It was time to extend this section of the date.
"You've gathered so many apples, surely this would be enough to bake pastries with. But what about apples to snack on during the walk back? We need those too. "
She found herself from her previous position to another one, back on the ground.
" Let's pick a few more, eat those on the way, and make the greatest pastries Astraware will ever know."
As if not waiting for an answer and simultaneously ignoring the rest of the situation, she picked up two of the bags and wrapped one around her arm while carrying the other. Her upper body strength was already demonstrated before and it could be noted that she could do three bags on one arm if she wanted, but she left the other for Vivian just because it was more a United activity that way. From there, she took one of the apples from the bag, spun it atop her finger like the smallest basketball ever, and then took a bite, skin and all.

Vivian fought back the urge to laugh, but smiled all the same. A challenge it would be. Wonderful. The girl moved to her feet, brushing off the dirt from her jeans before she hefted her backpack on then curled her right arm around another of the full bags. She moved into step with Sadie as she grabbed an apple for herself and shined the skin on her shoulder before taking a bite. The dancer chewed then swallowed before she began to speak.
"Well, then. How many do you plan on making?"
She shifted the bag so her palm was under the sack and hefted most of it's weight instead of holding it to herself. A soft hum to herself at the taste of the fresh fruit soon followed her action just before she bit into the apple again. Then instead of being rude and wiping the juice that coated her lips, she let her tongue trail over them.

Hmm... A good question indeed. How many? What kind? Would she sell them? Probably. It was likely in fact that she would have a market stall or something now that she had this much to bake with. To be fair, Vivian would be involved too as it was her effort that picked most of these. The final bag would be hers to pick, but the rest of the effort was not.
And now back to the question at hand. What kind would she make?
"Yes. " she responded. It was meant to imply whatever kind Vivian was thinking of, but the reality was she would make every apple pastry she knew how and base her entire stall after that. At least for this particular sale.
"You'll be getting your portion of the money of course when these become sensational around campus."

"I don't need it. I'm just happy to help. Put it toward opening your business."
Her head tilted to the side then moved back to an upright position. Yes, huh? So.. did that mean every type? Oh Lord.. She couldn't keep up with that. But she'd try her hardest. Had anyone been looking at her features they would notice a steely concentration flash through her eyes and narrow them just a bit. It would be all or nothing. Just like always. She would keep up with Sadie as well as she could. Even though the girl was far more practiced than herself.
The apple was tossed up into the air before it was caught and brought up to her lips once more. It was too good to let it go to waste by only taking a few bites.
"I don't have anything planned for the rest of the day. Don't even have any homework tonight. So I'm yours for however long you need me."

It wasn't too far before she found herself enjoying more of her own apple as well as seeing some slight shift in the tone. She decided this was fine, and allowed it to continue, for right now she had only the interest of the continuation of this event and the eventual profit it would bring
"I am going to sell whatever we don't eat, and you are going to split the gross with me. We will use that money for whatever we desire. I will fund my own endeavors directly."
She said this, but she was heart set on buying something she saw in the shop the other day. A silly thing too. Just a nice jacket, but maybe she could make it like a signature look or something.
"Tell me about yourself. "
Filling in blank space, yes.
" And don't skimp on the details. Find a story to tell and tell it in full. "

"Mm.. Well, I could use a new pair of shoes.." She looked down at her sneakers, but really she wanted a new pair of high tops. There wasn't anything wrong with her old pair. Just a little scuffed on the bottom and the left toe. But you could never have too many pairs of shoes, right? Especially if this new pair matched her uniform. Like the one's she had seen in town the other day, but shied away from because of their price and her limited funds.
"Oh, uhm. Hm.." Her brow crinkled as she tried to think of an exciting story to tell. Then she smiled a bit and shifted the heavy bag once more, even though she hadn't really even noticed it. Just a force of habit, to make sure it wasn't slipping in her hold.
"There isn't much to my life besides dance and music. I've been interested in both my entire life. I trained in the normal categories, ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical. It was all easy. Then I came across street dancing on a trip to London. They were brilliant. But you already know about my love for dance. The real kicker.. I never went to Reinhardt for dancing. I went for vocal. No one knows that. So keep it hush hush if you ever meet any of my friends from there. Everyone thinks I was there for dance and that's the reason they followed me so blindly, I guess. And why they didn't understand why I was the only one kicked out for dancing off premises and involving others. I wasn't a part of the dance academy and was projecting that I was. So that had to end."
Vivian shrugged as she bit into the apple again.
"But, to be a performer you have to have more talents than just singing anymore. So, I picked up street dancing and added it to my more linear background and added some friends to the mix to make it a team rather than a one person show. And I got them into something they loved. So in the end, I think I won. The love of music and dance spread and we shared that love with the community."
The girl glanced down at her now mostly eaten apple before looking over to Sadie. "So why don't you tell me something about yourself?"
