Stepping onto the stage she managed to turn on one light, though unexpected it shined blue. She could hear the soft creek of the wooden floors under feet. She had told Alice would be here today, though at the moment she had beat the young woman there.
She shrugged in in a boyish manner as shed be fought, yet she really couldn't be more excited to dance. Yet then the worry came. It was her first few days here and though she had gotten her school uniform she decided to wear what she was now comfortable wearing. A light pink dress shirt held to her body quite tight yet it didn't look restricting it only gave her a slimmer look . The shirt held against black slacks which led to her feet, covered in a ballroom dance shoe she was very ready to dance even if they didn't today.
She waited for a moment or two, that was until worry set in, she hasn't danced in so very long maybe she could practice a bit. Closing her eyes she held her arms up ready to hold her partner of air. She hummed a small beautiful song as she took her first step , a little stumble at the start not use to leading as her father had told her she was to if she ever danced again.
Once started her mother was right , she was born to dance, she crossed the wooden floor each step flowing nicely there were hints of her not use to leading but it was nice either way. How a mother would know this at two who knew. Most would shrug it off as a proud mother , but she ended up being right.
Jessica just needed to be polished that's all-words of a mother if she was watching now

Her request for a partner had finally be answered. Answered by a girl by the name of Jessie McKnight; an apparent new student of which school Alice had yet to conclude. The girl had stated that she had had prior experience, but it had appeared as if it had been striped away from her. How long ago had that happened? Would she still know how to dance? While any prior experience wasn't a strict requirement, Alice was interested in seeing what this girl could do. How she initially performed mattered little to her overall. It was all down to compatibility in the end. After all, one cannot perform a successful dance if they cannot find the perfect sync with a partner.
The snowy white widow entered the spacious theater only to find what she assumed to be the respondent of her letter, Jessie McKnight, up upon the stage, performing a ballroom number with a nonexistent partner. Bemused, Alice adopted a superficial position - crossing one arm across her torso and propping the other up onto it to rest her chin on her hand - and watched her. Frozen blue orbs cataloged every flowing movement. They were a few stumbles here and there, perhaps due to the prospect of not having danced in a while, but they were quickly overshadowed by a more natural flow the longer she seemed to go on. It seemed as if miss McKnight, as Alice temporarily knew her as at the moment, had a natural talent for dancing. Granted, it was a little rough, but all what needed to be done was to smooth it out.
After another moment of observation, Alice dismissed her analytical stance and slipped along the sides of the theater and up to the stage. The melancholic blue light created an ominous shadow play across her ivory features, highlighting the natural malice in her frosted blue eyes. It trickled like a shadowy blue paint down to her proper dancing shoes and white stockings and feathered over her formal black aristrocratic Lolita outfit. Clearing her throat, she quietly made her presence know:
"Miss McKnight, I assume?"

Not a step of someone coming was heard but a lovely voice echoed pulling her from her dance. Causing Jessie's face to burn red, a quick elegant bow showed her apology. As she stood up she looked at the lovely woman in front of her the blue light gave her shadow a twisted twin look , arms neatly crossed she looked older, but yet seemed as though younger. Though Jessie was unsure she finally thought it maybe good to speak up, her tone boyish as she did so , yet hits of a higher pitch were scattered in. " H-hello Ms Alice i am sorry i wasn't there to greet you i was um...practicing i didn't want to make a fool of myself if you wanted to test our skills out."
As she looked at the young lady she lifted her hand out " My name is Jessie, it is a pleasure to meet you and i am more than excited for this opportunity."
Blinking, she gave a soft smile as she waited for a response, she noted that the blue lighting gave a mysterious beauty to everything she even found that her own bamgs had now a tint of purple twisted in. though her hair was pink it was quite a change and her smile widened it was like a painting that caused all colors to have a hiddenmagic twisted into it. The other thing she noticed they were still the only ones here which really did help with her nerves.

The red hue painting the other girl's face betrayed that she was clearly embarrassed. That or just shy or nervous. Perhaps both. Blue orbs pursued the boyish girl as she bowed as if they were judging her. Alice was doing the exact opposite in reality, but her naturally grim features almost always falsely conveyed otherwise. This Jessie McKnight appeared boyish for a girl. Her hairstyle conveyed it more than her choice of clothes. Not that that really swayed Alice to think any differently about her; a lot of girls that she had seen here recently around the large campus bore the same hairstyle. Short and boyish. Had she ever flattened her snowy white fanned out bob down, she would probably look similar.
"There is no need for apologies, miss McKnight," the snowy haired girl corrected with a graceful wave of a lily-white hand, "I had not made my presence initially known in the first place."
As for making a fool of herself, there wasn't really any possible way she could do that. Not now, at least. There hadn't been a skill requirement, and Alice honestly expected many follies within first practice with someone. Even the most skilled dancers would have a challenge adjusting to the flow, rhythm, tune, and internal symphony of a brand new partner. Alice, herself, in part, possessed a naturally smooth, flowing grace that edged a little mystery too it. Of course she had danced with others before, but there were times where she would purposely accelerate the tempo to throw the other off guard; most of the time they couldn't match, but there wasn't any way you really could if you weren't in tune with her gliding strides and mischievous nature. She wasn't one to present her innermost self easily, either, so predicting and matching to her would be difficult at first.
A hand was soon extended her way, as well as a name and a statement of excitement. She wondered just how much dancing meant to this girl. She assumed quite a lot, or at least a substantial amount.
"Alice Chantal Shigeki Himeno. A pleasure, as well." She rarely offered her full name in introduction, but she guessed it might be proper, if this girl did in fact qualify for her dancing partner. She seemed kind of like the shy type, which teased Alice's renowned flirtatious, manipulative side, but she reminded herself to keep it under control. This was supposed to be formal. But even so, spider's were known to bite. Whether they injected any venom, however, was entirely up to perception.
Though slightly hesitant, she reached out and gently gave the girl's hand a light shake, not very used to enacting that form of greeting. Her own hand was ice cold and pale, like a living corpse."I am pleased to say you dance quite exceptionally." She added, more or less genuinely.
(I do write to music, and that song is absolutely beautiful! Truly an inspiring song~)

A sigh of relief was what was first caused by her. She learned the others full name and the other even told her she was a good dancer. Which meant a lot, though she was also the type to take any kind of a ' nice job' will full emostion, after all she didn't get much from the last few years. she wondered why the girl needed a dance partner, she didn't have one that was clear but was there some kind of event ? rather ponder over this she spoke up once again. " May i ask, Ms Alice , why the request of a partner?"
She noted the slight difference of up bringing she used the first name rather then last, would that bother the other, oh dear she hopped not. As the snow angel took her hand she noticed it was rather cold, ice cold. An idea popped in her head as she turned to her bag luckily not far away grabbing her jacket she held it out as if a waiter with a drink. " It is rather cold in here, would you like to borrow my jacket, and do not worry it is tight fitting so it wont get in the way."
Taking a nervous chuckle she hopped her generosity was taken, she wasn't use to the charm of a male , but as her father had taught her giving a jacket was one of the things boys did. Though he no longer had power over her it was still a nice gesture. Though it was a moment of mystery, for who knew why the girl had such cold hands, and maybe it did not bother her.

Had Alice not been so stiff and composed, she would have almost chuckled at the sigh she heard slip off the other girl's lips. There was no doubt she was nervous. But yet again, who wouldn't be? Nervousness often lead to mistakes, though Alice had little irritation in mistakes. They were only to be expected. As for the nervousness however, that could be melted away in time, that is, if the spider hadn't chosen to try and wrap her in her ensnaring web too tightly.
The question that was presented next elicited a slight twitch from the snowy girl's pallid features. An inquiry of her intentions; of her purpose of needing a partner. She wasn't one to present things straight upfront. No she normally was fond of dancing around the exact subject of something before deciding to let it out or not. But, of course, this was a formal situation, and if this was to be her partner, she did deserve to know. "I was sent to this academy to further perfect my areas of ballroom dance and ballet for...a family event when I am to graduate. The requirements for practice in this certain field of dance required a partner, or so specified from the head of my family."
Her throat felt dry. That had been a little more talking in one sentence than she was used to. It hadn't been a full monologue of the request or its future uses, but rather a scaled-down version. As next in line in the hierarchy of the Himeno lineage, she was to be molded into the perfect woman here at Astrea, where she would perfect her mannerisms further, and enhance the fields of elegance through dance. Once graduated, she would have to perform for her family, once for her family's rivals, and once with a man of whom she would not know. Little did she know, however, that this man was to be her forced husband, for the sanctity of dissolving the Himeno family's ancient rivalry with his family. Of course she hadn't known about that, and even if she did, she wouldn't exactly say that at first meeting. Nor at any meeting, at that.
The boyish girl next made a remark about the chill in the theater, one that Alice was quite accustomed to for being in its presence for so long in previous months, and handed her her jacket. The snowy widow drew a curious arm across her torso once more, fingers tensed. Now this was something she hadn't been presented with before. Her impaling gaze flicked up to the girl, studied her face for a second. Should she take it? She wasn't really cold, but found it kind of rude if she didn't accept what had been so generously offered to her. Oh well, she guessed she would indulge her. Taking the jacket with hesitant, curling digits, she performed an low, elegant curtsey, leaving a hand to curl at her chest while the other remained outstretched with the jacket and the signature raised edge of her curtsied, frilled skirt.
"Thank you kindly, miss McKnight." She offered. While a normal person would have smiled, her lips remained fastened into their normal scowl. The spider didn't smile much at all. Smirk yes, but smiling was a rarity in its own.
(As a response to the chatbox, (it's not letting me type in it > - <) I am enjoying our writing together too~ And I apologize if my posts sometimes get kind of long, sometimes I kind of get carried away when I write) (Never mind! Got it working now!)

the snowy haired girl was elegant with her answer. she spoke with enough information that Jessica understood quite well how important it was for this partner practice to happen. She also new what family asked of you was hard to say no too. She only nodded as she watch the girl stiffen slightly at the offer of the jacket, yet she proceeded to take it with a slight thank you.
She wondered for a moment if the other was just being nice, she guessed even if that was the case it wasn't going to be a bother, it was after all slightly chilly. Before her nervus started up again she though she needed to know if they would start today, and how things would proceed. Jessica also was excited to work with Alice. After all the other seemed like she knew quite a lot.
" Shall we begin? or is there more you'd like to speak on.?"
Taking a step closer to the girl she noted she was a tad taller hope that wouldn't be an issue.

Slipping on the jacket, Alice left it open for the most part. Jessie had said it was tight-fitting and in light of that wouldn't be an issue, but the widow simply had chosen to leave it open. Locks of white hair bunched at the collar before settling in their usual curled ribbons. The girl was she eager to dance. She couldn't really blame her though. She herself needed to test their compatibility in the style of dance in the first place. For it was one thing to have a partner, but another to be able to dance at least a little correct with them. Though even if their styles were polar opposites, she'd endeavor to make it work. Or at least honestly try to.
"I believe we may being." She confirmed, batting a ribbon of snowy white hair from an ominous blue eye. Most usually found it difficult to look into the spider's eyes for more than a few seconds. At least, the people back home found it to be. They were frozen; impaling; and glittering with an icy malice that almost edged to a sense of danger. Some would claim they could feel the very imaginary frost of her gaze icing over their skin. There was no way to warm it - no one had really tried - and the only way one could be liberated from its impaling ice was if she closed or eyes or simply lost interest.
Iced eyes studied the boyish girl as she took a step forward. Their height difference was perceivable, but wouldn't necessarily be a issue. Alice had danced with people have many different heights before - some shorter than her, some taller, some of equal poise. This should be no different.
"I trust you are familiar with the beginning position?" She mused. An ivory hand gestured to the girl's being while eyes flickered quizzically up to search any sign of realization in her face.

The young lady in front of her to a moment to slide the jacket on. As she did she noticed her fix it so it was left open. This didn't bother Jessica, though it may have confirmed that she was indeed use to the cold but took the jacket in kindness.
As she took her step , Alice had agreed it was time to start, the snowy young woman got ready shifting a few strands of the snow white hair away reviling eyes which could stun anyone. They were a icy crystal cold at first site, yet she new true eyes of cold, anger. These eyes were not it, like snow flakes almost every blink the girl took waiting only caused Jessica to blush. Her own blossom pink eyes looked down to meet the snowy white ones. Jessica had a mysterious style of color it was usually a light blossom pink yet a blue and purple twisted in, much like her personality, they seemed unsure of what color to choose, as eyes met she lifted her hand taking Alice's firmly yet still gentle, she then with slight hesitates held her pam to the girls side gripping her fingers oh so very lightly enough to guide them closer together.
She only could nod to the young snow angle before her , letting her know she was ready, now came the hard part...lead, not follow. Her foot double touched the ground internally trying to get ready for that.

Lily-white fingers twitched at the contact of the other's touch, almost as if they had contacted a mild open flame. It wasn't anything against Jessie herself, it was simply due to the fact that she hadn't willingly let someone - or had to let someone - touch her for a long while. She tried not to make that little fact noticeable however, but it was slightly betrayed by the tensing of her body when the girl's hand came to rest in the proper position against her side. Maybe she herself needed a little work too. Not in dancing of course, but rather, the whole mutual physical contact aspect. The snowy white spider was used to touching, mostly out of manipulative flirtations without proper consent first, though not quite used to being touched herself. That was something she would have to get used to, she guessed.
Letting a soft, amused sound issue from her lips, she adopted a more relaxed position, curling her ivory fingers against the back of Jessie's hand. Next, she raised the other cold hand to situate it loosely on her shoulder, casually allowing it to slip past a strand of a mixture of pink, blue, and purple tinged hair. There was nothing really intentional about it; she was just testing what sort of reaction it would provoke. Seeing how red the other's face was too, she was curious as well if that action would only make her blush more. Naturally, that almost always happened.
Alice could tell Jessie was used to following, not leading. The snowy widow could do both herself, so if demonstrations were at any point required to be given, then she would have no immediate qualms doing so. Sure, it would be a little tedious, but if it had to be done then it had to be done. Though she was interested to see what this girl could do if and before she stepped in to aid her. There was no rush.
"Adequate form." She commented. It sounded genuine for the most part, but there was little emotion present in her eerie voice. Not that there was much of any at any time in the first place. Shifting her weight slightly as to make herself lighter on her feet, she returned her momentarily distracted gaze back to the unique pink-purple orbs of other girl. White lashes fluttered half-way over the icy pools, analyzing her next move. She rarely ever made direct eye contact - in truth, she was staring a bit above Jessie's eyes - but she had feigned direct contact long enough to make it appear like she was holding the girl's gaze. After all, if you couldn't look someone directly in the eyes, you couldn't see their soul. And Alice's was a colloquial, frozen-over soul that was not very warm nor very pretty to look at.

Body's that holds close was a twisted temperature of cool and warm. She head a soften sound blinking she caught the girls gaze again to see if her grip had been to much yet it didn't seem to be the case.
She lets a breath whisper through her lips as she calmed. Feeling a hand cross her hair then neck to be placed on her shoulder, usually this act would get her flustered but no one had touched her hair since that day. The good memories and the bad memory flashed. This caused her grip to tighten, unconsciously yet it happened.
She closed her eyes bringing her self back to the task at hand allowing her mind to think of the touch it was soft, cool like her mothers as she brushed through her hair, that is what she had to focus on. Words of the others praise,or at least she took it that way tore her from her thoughts .
Her eyes opened in time for her first movement. Her foot slid forward, and unlike her privet practice she did not stumble.

The experimental reaction had provoked a tightening of the grip; one that didn't seem all that conscious as if occurred. Alice made note of it. She guessed that perhaps this girl was a bit head shy - a lot of girls she came across commonly were. Though there was always the chance that that may not be the case. The snowy spider decided not to dwell on it for too long right now. Maybe later, should it surface again.
When Jessie composed herself, Alice watched her initiate the first move and took a step to flow perfectly with her. White ribbons of hair fanned out like a lion's mane of serpents as she moved. Any source of folly seemed to be eradicated. At least for now it had. This intrigued the snowy white spider. Of course, however, she still kept herself prepared for future errors or stumbles.
"Excellent start." The compliment rolled softly off her pale lips. Jessie was doing well so far.
(One of the songs I usually listen to when writing with Alice: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckOh86bm798 It's a darker remixed version of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata)

Nodding to the excellence of the beginning, she could take her thoughts off of the task at hand. Each moment , each step, she wouldnt fail. Their flow seemed to match it maybe this was only to her they made it across the stage. glancing down for the foot work only for a moment she kept her eyes to the girl across from her. They had made their way across the stage, she began to think more of her dance partner. Alice needed a lot for these practices, so that she could show her family a dance of perfection. At least that is what Jessica had began to think, her past has let very little imagination to any other outcome.
This lead her to over think, what happens if Alice were to fail? Jessie closed her eyes no family would do as her father did to her. Taking another breath she tried to get back to the dance, opening her eyes their flow had not changed. She took a step back to allow for there bodies to twirl into another direction. Yet there was nothing but air behind her heal, blossom pink eyes widened she had gotten to close to the edge of the stage, they were going to fall.
With little time to act she only pulled the snow cold body against her own as she hit the floor. dazed she slowly sat up, it wasn't as bad as she had thought, her eyes gazed at the snowy hair below her chin. " You alright"
Her voice whispered out, she had caused trouble.

The dance seemed to fall into a sufficient flow. Follies were nearly inexistent as they made their way across the stage. This genuinely surprised Alice, yet the emotion failed to connect with her monotonous features. Jessie seemed to elapse into her thoughts and even closed her eyes at open point. It didn't worry the snowy white spider; she was used to drifting off herself when dancing. Even when said activity involved a complex ballet number littered with countless twists, bends, and pivots.
Then came a sense of folly. A miscalculation of the edge of the stage. Alice barely had anytime to react before her body was abruptly secured against the other's and gravity over took them. Icicles of white hair swirled in a snowy white cloud as she fell. The impact was certainly felt; like a quaking jolt; but no pain issued out of it. Because the widow could feel no pain. It had been a condition that she had been born with. And sometimes that wasn't the most beneficial bodily condition. Many times she often wondered if that may be the reason why she caused pain to others. Perhaps, but as soon as a conclusion would be drawn, she would dash it out of the countless threads of her venomous mind.
Frozen blue orbs flicked open; cloudy, at first, from the daze of the impact. With white lashes drawn half-over the narrowed colored pools, she cast her gaze up at the boyish girl before her.
"I am alright." She responded, batting a few troublesome strands of white hair from her face. She had dealt with plenty of falls during ballet rehearsals. "Are you hurt yourself, miss McKnight?"
Surely the impact must have been worse for the boyish girl. Or well, it probably was, but Alice wouldn't be able to tell either way since she couldn't feel the pain from it. Perhaps it wasn't the best time to take a moment of observation, but now that she actually focused on it, she noticed just how undeceive in color Jessie's hair and eyes were. An interesting composition indeed.
