Post by Arielle "Airi" Haruno on Sept 2, 2013 1:59:11 GMT -5
Name: Arielle “Airi” Haruno (Ai Ichigo)
School Attending: Miator
Age/ Year in School: 15/Fourth Year
~ Appearance ~
Face Claim: None (at least, I don’t think so…)
Hair Color: Light Brown/blonde (ombre effect)
Hairstyle: Arielle’s hair is long (nearly reaching her hips), and naturally wavy, so she typically just straightens her bangs and lets the rest hang loose. Although, she can be seen sporting a high ponytail when she’s feeling lazy.
Eye Color: Green
Height: 5’0
What kind of clothes does your character wear when she's not in uniform?
Loose t-shirts, flannel shirts, hoodies, beanies, snapbacks and skinny jeans are among Arielle’s favorite items of clothing. Despite her long hair and love of makeup, Airi is really a tomboy at heart. She loves to wear clothes one would typically see on a teenage guy, as she feels they’re much more comfortable (which is why she can’t stand her school uniform and makes sure to never wear it outside the classroom). She has a total of seven bracelets on her right wrist alone, and sports a green wristband on her left. She never takes them off, and will likely throw a fit if asked to do so without a reasonable cause. She also has a silver necklace with a heart-shaped pendant which she never removes, even when in uniform.
What kinds of activities is your character involved in?
Japanese Tea Ceremony: Yes
Ballroom Dancing: Yes
Foreign Language: Yes
Is your character on the Student Council? -No
If yes, what does your character think of the student council president, Shimizu Hikari? Please answer this because if your character is on the student council, then she would know who Shimizu Hikari is and would have an opinion of her.
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Arielle (or Airi, as she is often called) is often described as clever, charming, sweet and chivalrous. She’s extremely loyal to those who are lucky enough to get close to her, and will put everything she has into making relationships (romantic or otherwise) work. She is incredibly kind at heart, but because she cannot bring herself to trust the outside world, she tends to come off as a snarky little sourpuss. She is very much a realist, and will tell it like it is no matter how much it might hurt. She hates apologizing, even if she was in the wrong. However, she does genuinely feel bad when she hurts people’s feelings, so rest assured, she will find a way to apologize should the situation call for it. She is, in reality, terrified of upsetting people. She’s the textbook definition of a people-pleaser. But even so, Arielle is far from an angel. Manipulative and somewhat selfish, Airi isn't beyond stirring up a little mischief or confusion to get what she wants. Luckily for those who don't catch on to her schemes, Airi isn't into a lot of drama or hurt feelings, so her trickery is usually balanced out by the gift of her charismatic presence. She’s also a bit of a heart breaker, and very hard to please, so tread lightly if you think you might be falling for this little vixen. Now, keep in mind, this is SOBER Arielle (someone even Arielle herself hasn’t seen in a very long time). When under the influence, Arielle’s personality changes dramatically. She becomes violent, angry, and downright unpleasant to be around. She will tear you apart (emotionally...or physically, if you get her too angry) in a heartbeat if given the chance. But the Astraea girls are not likely to see this side of her...unless of course, she manages to slip into the winery unnoticed.
What does your character think of the Etoile position as a whole?
She’s rather indifferent to it. She thinks it’s cute to see the lucky couple’s love on display, but the idea doesn’t particularly appeal to her.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday?
If she had a partner who really wanted to, she’d consider it.
What does your character think of Chokone Manatsu and Shizuka Myūzu the current etoiles? She thinks Chokone is incredibly cute, but finds her innocent demeanor a bit off-putting. She’s very suspicious of people like her (despite having a weak spot for cuteness). She doesn’t really have an opinion about Shizuka, other than finding her very pretty.
What does your character think of the other schools? Spica was her dream school, but her parents forced her into attending Miator. Truth be told, she hates her school. Too many rules, too many restrictions, not enough sports… Her list of complaints could go on forever. That being said, her opinion of Lulim is neutral. She doesn’t have much to say other than the uniforms are cute.
~History~
Please write in 100 words or more your character's history before she came to Miator: Arielle was born in the small town of Kobe, Japan. Her father, Luciano (a handsome Italian man), met her mother, Chikaru (a charming Japanese woman), during a foreign exchange program back in their high school days. Luciano decided to stay in Japan with Chikaru, as his family did not approve of their marriage. They were a fairly happy couple, despite the family disputes surrounding them. So when the news came that Chikaru was pregnant, the two couldn’t have been happier. Arielle was their pride and joy, the physical embodiment of everything they dreamed of. They showered the girl with love and affection, making sure she always had everything she needed. She grew up speaking both Japanese and Italian fluently (and will often alternate between the two out of sheer habit). Now, with two loving parents like hers, one would think she’d grow into a proper young lady… But that’s about as far from reality as it gets. Around the age of 12, Arielle began to rebel, doing anything and everything in her power to get under her parents’ skin. But it wasn’t entirely out of spite; For behind their picture perfect parent-daughter relationship, there were some rather…dark secrets. Arielle’s parents were very religious, you see, and they did not respond well to the way she looked at girls. They tried everything they could to “fix” her, from church lectures to straight camps, but nothing seemed to work. All resources exhausted, they turned to the internet for help. There, they found a man named Kenji Yamanaka, who claimed his psychiatric techniques were guaranteed to guide girls like Arielle back onto the ‘right’ path. Her parents were desperate and, after a few e-mails and phone calls, soon found themselves inviting Kenji into their home. The man seemed friendly enough, so when he requested that they step outside for a few moments to allow Arielle to speak freely to him, they readily agreed. That decision was a mistake they would not soon forget. As it turns out, Kenji Yamanaka was not a child psychiatrist; he wasn’t even Kenji Yamanaka. He was Ryan Foutley, a sleazy tourist and a registered sex offender, convicted of 3 counts of sexual assault (all three involving underage girls). That being said, I’m sure you can guess what occurred behind that closed door. The result was a very traumatized little girl, two traumatized parents, and a heap of trouble for everyone involved. And to add insult to injury, Arielle still liked girls. After that disturbing incident, Arielle’s rebellious ways were taken to the extreme. She began sneaking out, going to parties, and coming home wasted. She was drinking and smoking almost every day, which (according to her therapist) was because she was afraid of the feelings that would be waiting for her when she sobered up. She was an emotional wreck, doing everything she could to try and repair the damage to her heart. She had gone through eight ‘serious’ girlfriends before her fourteenth birthday. She now has three tattoos (‘Dream of Paradise’ on her left arm, ‘Forever and Always’ over her heart, and a trail of broken butterflies on her left shoulder), several piercings (a monroe, snakebites, naval, tongue, and three in each ear), a drug/alcohol addiction, and more emotional problems than her broken heart can handle. At their wits’ end, her parents decided to send her to Astraea Hill, hoping that the strict atmosphere of Miator would help her get herself back together.

Sample Post:
Everything had gone well so far. The car was safely in the driveway. The stale silence of the air had gone nearly undisturbed. Soft patches of grass silenced any echo her footsteps might have made. She had done it. She had made it back without a hitch. Tresses of long brown and blonde hair stuck to the sweat-soaked skin of her neck. She slipped the car keys into the pocket of her black leather jacket, wiping her clammy hands on the front of her dress. A trembling hand reached slowly for the doorknob, her heart pounding wildly in her chest. As the cool metal touched her skin, she felt the knob begin to turn. Her heart nearly stopped when she realized the light was now on. The door swung open.
“Arielle Marie Haruno! Where in God’s name have you been?” Her mother’s booming voice pierced through the silence like the world’s sharpest knife. The robust woman glared fiercely at her daughter, her eyes swollen from worried tears. The sleeves of her nightgown were streaked black with mascara after taking the place of tissue. “O-Okaasan, I’m so sorry! I can explain! I was at the party, and I was running late, but my phone died and-“ Sharp words quickly cut her statement short. “Don’t give me that garbage!” Her mother hissed, gritting her teeth. She stood in front of her daughter, peering down at her like a cat eyeing its prey. “Do you have any idea how worried I’ve been? I explicitly told you to stay away from that party! But you didn’t, and to top that off, you stole the car! There will be hell to pay when your father hears about this, young lady.” Her words were dripping with anger and worry.
A sudden flash of anger lit up in Arielle’s eyes. “Oh really?” She growled defiantly, her sudden change in demeanor stunning the older woman into silence. “What’s he gonna do, call another ‘psychiatrist’?” She spat the word as if saying it left a nasty taste in her mouth. Her breath was thick with the scent of liquor. The shocked, painful look in her mother’s eyes only egged the drunken girl on. “I’ve been to Hell and back, Okaasan... I’ve looked the Devil straight in the eye... And he hurt me in ways your mind couldn’t even imagine… So don’t even try to scare me with that crap. If there was a God, he would have saved me long ago. I believe in the Devil. I don’t believe in God. And I don’t believe in Heaven. Because...” She leaned in close, her livid emerald gaze slicing into her mother’s shaky azure one. “I’m the Devil’s child now. Heaven and I...are strangers.”
