Celeste Kirigiri
Celeste can be summed up pretty simply. She's pure, and she's innocent. Driven by the selfless desire to help the weak, she has no desire for glory or respect, though it often comes her way. Inspired by the teachings of Christianity and Buddhism, as well as the simple direction of magical girl series, she's developed with a somewhat naïve and pure vision of the world- everyone is naturally good, it's just that some people have been led astray by some negativity or another. She may not be able to help those with really complicated issues- she'll try her best, though- but if the strong oppress the weak, she'll most certainly step in and stand up for the little man. It's the main thing she's confident in, after all.
This girl is stupidly strong. She wrestled a boar to death, despite taking its tusk into her stomach. She often trains herself for the sake of becoming more capable- a better protector. Limber and strong, she's a resilient force in a fight. She's been described as a force of nature when it comes to her fighting. It's pretty accurate- wild, fast, and destructive. She lacks the discipline that some martial artists might have. But what she lacks in refined abilities, she makes up for with raw power and skill. If it came down to a raw brawl, chances are, she'd win. She's not a warmonger, though. There's only two situations in which she'll fight- to defend another or herself, and in a case of mutual agreement, or, in other words, a spar. While not necessarily a fan of competition for the sake of competing, she does acknowledge that the best way to better herself is through trial by fire- in other words, testing herself against others.
With her almost endless supply of energy and willingness to throw a punch, it'd be somewhat easy to forget that Celeste is, in fact, a girl. Despite that, she is very much a maiden at heart. Somewhere along the way, she became uncomfortable in girly outfits. Perhaps it was her height, or the fact that bullies never seemed to take a girl in a sundress very seriously under they had a bruised face and bloody nose. But, regardless, at the present, dresses and girly outfits only leave Celeste embarrassed and self-conscious. Ironic, given that part of her inspiration came from magical girls, most of which having some pretty. . . unique outfits.
While she doesn't think too highly of herself in terms of looks, there is one part of her outer appearance that she takes great pride in- her hair. In Celeste's case, her hair really is her life. She washes it no less than twice a day, brushing it before and after washing, as well as before bed and after waking. Among the quickest of ways to upset or irritate her is to bother her hair without permission. Very few people ever get to so much as touch it with her permission. The ones that she's willing to let brush or play with it are people that are very close- people she'd be willing to trust her life with.
That said, she really is a girl at heart. Sure, she might be willing to punch your lights out if you're picking on someone, but she enjoys romance stories, cute animals, and other things as much as the next girl- though she's a bit strict on what sweets she eats. Self-conscious as a child due to her appearance, she's grown used to being stared at, to a degree, but sometimes, some stares are just so intense that she feels chills going down her back. She's very sensitive to unexpected attention, compliments, sudden derision, and the like. It's a lot easier than the general populace would assume to reduce the girl into a smoldering, blushy maiden, or to cause the golden giant to cry.
The girl is inexperienced in the ways of the world. She's so eager to hope the best for people that she can't always see through the lines and pick up on subtleties that may be blatantly obvious to others. While not an idiot, she can be naïve. You could even say that her willingness to get into a fight is because of her pure and simple ideals. It's almost horrendously obvious that, if left to her own devices, the girl will always remain “innocent”. She's the sort that honestly believes kissing will make you pregnant. To her, a risque evening includes holding hands and eating the same sundae.
In a way, she's a fool- the kind the world could use a few more of.

Enemies
“I understand that bad things have happened to you. I understand that something had to make you this way. I understand that, and I want to help you, I really do. But I will not allow you to bully others just because you can! I don't like hurting people, but I won't hold back if you don't stop!”
Ever the hero of justice, Celeste will sometimes go out of her way to fight a person if they're a bully or just generally evil. She's not mean about it, though. She gives people second, third, and even fourth chances. It's mostly her naivety and gullibility, but her heart is just too big to condemn people. Outside of “evil”, she doesn't really have a reason to be enemies with others. But it wouldn't be too odd for people to dislike her due to her childish mentality- or as a result of being pummeled. She can be noisy and almost nauseatingly good-natured. Sometimes, that will rub a person the wrong way.
Friends
“Of course we can be friends! Friendship and love are two things the world needs the most. Bullies and other bad people wouldn't be the way they were if they had friends. If you ever need my help, just shout real loud! If I can hear you, I'll come. I promise- cross my heart, hope to die. I'll be in your care!”
Awkward, loud, and somewhat odd in her mannerisms, Celeste would be a quirky person to have as a friend. At the same time, though, you really couldn't hope for someone better. She'd sooner kick a dog than talk about you behind your back. More than that, she'll confront anybody talking bad about her friends. She'd likely do it, anyway, if she knew the words were lies. She's honest, perhaps painfully so, and wishes only the best for everyone- not just her friends. She'll try to be as impartial as possible, though. So looking to her to simply take your side when it suits you won't be the best course.
All in all, she's a giant of gold, with a similarly colored heart.
“I don't know what it is, but when I'm near you, I feel like I really am invincible. I feel very warm and happy. A boar? I could fight a tiger-bear army without fear if I knew you were near. I don't know if this is what love is, but, please, don't leave my side?”
As mentioned above, Celeste is a very innocent girl. Sex? She doesn't even know what it is. Kissing makes babies, obviously. She's the sort of pure girl that wouldn't know what to do with holding hands, or sharing the same dish. If she was with someone she really liked, they'd probably have to be pretty forward to get her to do anything odd. Just holding pinkies together is embarrassing for a girl like Celeste, never mind a romantic hug or things like that. Of course, if someone did win her heart, they'd have a very faithful puppy that'd probably follow them wherever. When not fistpumping a bully's face, anyway.
Plot Concept Analysis
“Love and friendship make the world go 'round. Let's speed it up, faster and faster! We'll move faster than light!”
-The Black Knight and the Steel Princess-
One of the things I really like about Celeste is the fact that, despite her almost boyish attitude and willingness to knuckle-bump someone's forehead, she's very much a girl of the innocent maiden variety. For that reason, I honestly find the thought of an outwardly girly, but inwardly princely or knightly girl standing as a dynamic for her. Even better if they were shorter. But these are just minor details.
The Black Knight is an older girl that's taken an interest in Celeste. This is either an innocent degree of amusement in her antics, or a genuine infatuation with her- preferably with her purity of mind, but physical interest turned to genuine interest is also fine. Of course, the Black Knight doesn't have any normal means of starting up a conversation with her- nothing substantial, anyway. Or maybe she even confesses, and, being the blockhead she is, Celeste completely misses the point. Either way, this would maybe continue until, one day, the Black Knight manages to catch Celeste in a risky situation- probably when she's changing herself in private, or perhaps when sneaking out to don a diaper after clubs (she knows how to manage herself enough to avoid discovery normally, you know).
Perhaps to tease, perhaps to exert control, the Black Knight would then blackmail Celeste. Nothing nasty, mind you. Just light-hearted things that will embarrass Celeste to no end. For example, forcing her to don a more feminine wardrobe for a while, and just generally reversing her outer appearance to match her heart. Perhaps the Black Knight's interests or affections twist into something darker at this point- after all, power over someone does corrupt even the strongest of wills.
And so, the embarrassments and humiliations would rise over a time frame. I would expect the Black Knight to also be getting closer to Celeste during this time- not just being an overlord, but someone pointing out their interests much more vividly- with actions. Wouldn't be too shocking for them to steal her first kiss around that time, as well as tell her that they'd protect her secret- though also make it blatantly obvious that, while they'd protect her happiness in that regard, they'd still control her. Around then, Celeste would probably break down- emotionally, not mentally, mind you. Embarrassment and shame would have mounted to entirely new levels, likely causing her to run out.
Around that time, those that liked Celeste more openly- fans, club members, classmates, or those she saved- would have gotten a whiff of something foul. The climax of this plot would be the confrontation between these people and the Black Knight. The Black Knight can keep a secret, but it'd be great if they weren't physically capable. Why's that, you might ask? Well, once Celeste manages her emotions and works out her feelings, she'd come back. Seeing the Black Knight surrounded by girls out cold with be a bad end on this route. But seeing the Black Knight being cornered and beaten by those girls would call out the hero.
The Black Knight can protect the Steel Princess's secrets; likewise, the Steel Princess can protect the Black Knight. In protecting the Black Knight, Celeste would be showing her acceptance of the Black Knight's feelings. In return, embarrassed kiss she'd deliver would act as her reciprocation and declaration. Their time together would not end there, but that would be the climax- the peak of the plot's course. It'd be something cute to have happen, at least.
More later. Maybe.
