Age/ Year in School: 13/Second Year
~ Appearance ~

Eye Color: Bright blue

What kind of clothes does your character wear when she's not in uniform?
Kotori is almost never seen without her favorite orange and black track jacket (...Naruto’s jacket... XD). She’s a very simple girl, preferring black/white t-shirts/tank tops over girly blouses. She’s a bit of a tomboy at heart. Skinny jeans, shorts, and converse in various colors make up the rest of her wardrobe. She feels extremely uncomfortable in skirts/dresses, but tolerates the Spica uniform because she has to (she wears Tsubomi’s version of the uniform).
What Sports/activities is you character involved in? You may choose "none" or a maximum of three from the list below.
Equestrian Sports: Yes
Horse name: Amu
Horse gender, breed and appearance: Female, black and white Appaloosa
Choir: Yes
Martial Arts: Yes.
Is your character on the Student Council? -No (although she initially wanted to be).
If yes, what does your character think of the student council president, Junko Hiruko? Please answer this because if your character is on the student council, then she would know who Junko is and would have an opinion of her.
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Kotori is characterised as thoughtful, serene, kind, and very polite, as noted from her always addressing people with proper honorifics. She is also very gentle, a trait her father despised, and dislikes competing and fighting. She is extremely shy, to the point of being borderline social phobic. She is very soft spoken and tends to stutter when she speaks. Because of her incredible timidness, it’s not at all unusual to see her hiding behind her brother whenever he's around (or Mochi, her stuffed fox, when she's on campus and her brother can't be with her) in a desperate attempt to remain unseen. Because of certain events in her past, she has developed a habit of flinching when anyone other than Ichiro tries to touch her, despite her secret yearning for that kind of interaction. Her voice (similar in tone to the utaite Kano) almost never rises above a soft, whispery tone unless she is angry (which is very, VERY rare). At a glance, Kotori may seem like a fragile, innocent little fawn. While that may be true in an emotional sense, her physical strength is a different story entirely. From a very young age, Kotori began training in the ancient Japanese martial arts (her father was a highly skilled martial artist). Her strength and skill surprised even her father, who immediately urged her to use it to intimidate others. But Kotori, being the naturally gentle soul she is, refused, maintaining that the art was only meant to be used in self defense, and do to anything else would be incredibly dishonorable. However, if provoked, one must understand that this sweet little lamb can pack a powerful punch, and be prepared to get hurt should things escalate to that point.
What does your character think of the Etoile position as a whole?
She greatly admires anyone who earns the position.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday?
Yes and no. While she would love to be able to do something like that with a person she loved, she would also be very unnerved by the thought of being put in the spotlight.
What does your character think of Chokone Manatsu and Shizuka Myūzu, the current etoiles? She has a great deal of respect for both, but feels she can relate to Chokone a lot better. She sees a lot of similarities between them. She also wishes she could have someone like Shizuka in her life.
What does your character think of the other schools? Kotori doesn’t have a competitive bone in her body, so the rivalry between Miator and Spica doesn’t really mean much to her. Part of her wishes she could have gone to Lulim instead, as the atmosphere there seems much more relaxed.
~History~
Please write in 100 words or more your character's history before she came to Spica.
Kotori is the twin sister of Ichiro Suzuki, separated at birth when their parents divorced. Kotori was taken in by her father, Shinjo Saeki, a violent martial artist whose hatred of Nadeshiko (Kotori’s mother) slowly destroys his relationship with Kotori. His volatile personality and love of violence made him a very dangerous man, especially to his shy young daughter. Despite him personally training her, he still abused her in every way he could think of. Verbally, emotionally, and unfortunately, physically. Outside the martial arts dojo, Shinjo was a cruel man, taking every opportunity he had to hurt Kotori. Those who knew him often said it was because the young girl reminded him (both in looks and personality) of Nadeshiko. Kotori was constantly being beaten, threatened, and emotionally battered. He destroyed her self-esteem, leading her to honestly believe she was a useless piece of trash who would never amount to anything. When she wasn’t being tortured, Kotori spent most of her time cooped up in her room, talking to Mochi (the stuffed fox her mother had given her the day she was born) or drawing pictures to send to Ichiro and Nadeshiko. As she grew older, things only went further and further downhill, which eventually lead Kotori into some rather...unpleasant habits. She fell into a deep depression and began inflicting harm upon herself. Both arms were soon covered with a mixture of scars and fresh wounds, which were later discovered by her father. Upon this discovery, her father gave her the worst beating she’d ever experienced. In his rage, he might have killed her had it not been for a passerby outside who happened to hear the struggle and call the police. Shinjo was arrested, and Kotori was sent to live with her mother and brother. Soon after, Kotori was sent to Astraea Hill, as her mother was not ready to deal with raising Ichiro AND her ‘broken’ child.

Again…It had happened again… The same reoccurring dream that had been plaguing her since that fateful day. The day she had nearly died… It had been a little over two months since that day, yet she remembered it as if it had only been a short time ago. The dreaded look on her enraged father’s face… The sounds of glass breaking and angry yells… The bloody mess her body became… The frantic trip to the hospital…The look her father had given her as they took him away in handcuffs... The scene replayed over and over in the golden haired girl’s mind.
It was on that day that Kotori had lost faith in everything. Despite everything he had put her through, she still believed in her heart of hearts that her father loved her, and when he was taken away… Well, Kotori had convinced herself that it was her fault. Tears of guilt spilled mercilessly from the little girl’s sapphire eyes. She clutched her toy fox tightly to her chest, whimpering like a frightened child. ‘I’m so weak… I’m afraid of everything… Thunder… Spiders… Even people… Why can’t I just be normal…?!’ Her body trembled with each sob, her tears falling like rain onto the fur of her plush fox.
A quiet creaking resounded as the door to the room opened. Moments later, a gentle pair of arms wrapped the trembling fawn in a familiar embrace. “Shhh... It’s okay, Kotori-chan...” Her brother’s soft voice was soothing, and Kotori immediately relaxed into his embrace. The two stayed like this for a while, silently enjoying each other’s company. After a long bout of silence, the blonde spoke softly. “Arigato... Ichi-kun...”
