Name: Yoru Kaguya (Ai Ichigo)
School Attending: Miator
Age/ Year in School: 16/Fifth Year
~ Appearance ~
Hair Color: Red
Hairstyle: Short, boyish, and very low-maintenance. Yoru doesn’t like to waste time fussing with her hair.
Eye Color: Auburn (reddish brown), sometimes a bit duller and grey-ish, depending on the light
Height: 5’5
What kind of clothes does your character wear when she's not in uniform?
T-shirts (a mix of band t-shirts and plain/dark colors), skinny jeans, and converse shoes (with little Sharpie doodles all over them) make up most of Yoru’s wardrobe. She’s not a fan of skirts, dresses, or anything that requires too much effort. She does, however, wear the Miator uniform with no complaints (much to her relatives’ surprise). When out of uniform, she is almost never seen without her signature black hoodie (complete with her name on the hood and an intricate red scorpion design on the back). Her fingernails are almost always painted a deep purple or black.
What kinds of activities is your character involved in?
Flower Arrangement: Yes
Foreign Language: Yes
Band: Yes
What instrument(s) does she play? Flute
Is your character on the Student Council? No
If yes, what does your character think of the student council president, Shimizu Hikari? Please answer this because if your character is on the student council, then she would know who Shimizu is and would have an opinion of her.
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Yoru can best be described as cold and aloof. She tends to keep her distance from others, preferring to be left to her own devices. She values music, nature, and art over anything else, and if prompted, will gladly discuss such matters in great depth (these subjects are probably the only surefire way to get her to speak to you). She firmly believes that nature is something beautiful that must be protected (and she is more than willing to do so if need be), and that music and art are windows into the soul. She loves animals, cats in particular. In all honesty, Yoru is more likely to be seen having a conversation with an animal than with another person. This is because she maintains little regard for human life, which often leads people to believe she is entirely emotionless. While this is not necessarily true, the instances in which she shows emotion are few and far between. It would take a very special, very determined person to get her to set her feelings free. The only people Yoru has ever shown any kind of sympathy/affection towards are her two younger sisters and her distant cousin Yukiko Kouri. Despite her cruel and nihilistic nature, Yoru is also known to possess a very down-to-earth outlook on life, rarely getting worked up over obstacles that impede her way. She is also, however, very impatient, and doesn’t like to be kept waiting for very long. Yoru may not show much regard for her fellow humans’ lives as a whole, but she still respects the ideals of others. She strongly believes in the concept of giving respect to earn respect. Yoru is also quite self conscious about certain aspects of herself, most notably her boyish voice (similar in tone to the utaite nano (ナノ) ), although she would never say so out loud.
What does your character think of the Etoile position as a whole?
She believes it’s nothing more than another petty popularity contest. The very notion disgusts her entirely.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday?
Absolutely not.
What does your character think of Chokone Manatsu and Shizuka Myūzu, the current etoiles? While she admires Chokone’s seemingly innocent nature, that’s as far as her emotions go. She doesn’t like the way the schools place the girls onto a pedestal, though she keeps her opinion to herself out of respect for the girls. Despite her disapproval of their positions, she still maintains the utmost respect in regards to them.
What does your character think of the other schools? Yoru does not really acknowledge the differences between the schools. In her eyes, they are just one big school with three sets of uniforms. Nothing more, nothing less.
~History~
Please write in 100 words or more your character's history before she came to Miator: As a child, Yoru’s life was far from happy and peaceful. She was the main caretaker of not only herself, but her younger siblings (twin sisters, Sora and Temari) as well. She also had to struggle with (and still struggles with) chronic IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), which was very difficult to deal with without her parents' support. Her parents were in a very turbulent marriage, constantly fighting over petty things. And unfortunately, that fighting often led to domestic violence. Yoru’s father was a volatile man able to be set off by the slightest of things, though strangely enough, his violence never extended to his children. During such fights, Yoru would often take her sisters to the home of her cousin Yukiko, who (at the time) she was very close to despite their homes being a fair distance apart. While the kids played, Yoru and Yukiko would talk, sharing secrets and troubles they couldn’t imagine sharing with anyone else. The two were more like sisters than distant cousins. But shortly after Yukiko’s brother passed away, everything changed. Yukiko withdrew herself, refusing to let even Yoru into her heart. This hurt Yoru deeply, and despite the circumstances, she couldn’t help feeling a bitter resentment towards the other. Things in her own life weren’t getting any better either. Her parents’ fighting had worsened, to the point where Yoru was leaving the house every single day. Her sisters still stayed at Yukiko’s place, but because of the tension and growing distance between them, Yoru chose instead to wander the streets until the time came to pick them up. During her time on the streets, she witnessed terrible things. Crime, poverty, violence... With each passing day, her faith in humanity grew weaker and weaker. And then came the day she lost it completely. She came home to see if her parents had stopped their bickering for the night (a ritual she went through every day before bringing the girls back), only to find a seemingly empty house. She called for her parents, but received no reply. Curious, she wandered through the house, knocking on every door until finally, she was greeted with a chilling sight. Her mother’s battered body was sprawled out on the floor of her parents’ bedroom. There was broken glass scattered about the room, and the smell of blood nearly made her vomit. To any normal person, this would be a devastating, tear-inducing scene that would likely scar them for life. To Yoru, however, it was simply the long-awaited outcome of her parents’ stupidity. She did not scream. She did not cry. Not a single tear. She simply called the police, informed them of the situation, and let the law do its thing. Soon afterwards, her father was arrested and tried for murder, and Yoru and her sisters were placed into the care of Yukiko’s parents (their only known relatives). Yukiko had already been sent to Astraea Hill at this point, and after careful consideration, her parents decided it would be best to do the same for Yoru as well.
History before Astraea Hill:
(Below are the sections for your character's history during her time on Astraea Hill. If you are joining as a first year, you do not have to fill out the sections below until the end of the year. If you are joining as any other year please make up a history for any years before her current year, even if she was attending another campus. If you have already played your character here on SPRP for a year or more (in rp time), please add any events you role played to the appropriate history section. Any years you have not yet played, you may leave blank, but you will fill them out when your character reaches that year in school.
First Year: Attending a different school
Second Year: Attending a different school
Third Year: Attending a different school
Fourth Year: Big things happened for Yoru this year. She got roped into some love-triangle drama at the Winter Ball, made a few new friends, and ended up falling in love with Junko Hiruko (who was, ironically, one of the girls involved in the Winter Ball fiasco). She gained some confidence with her newfound friendships, which was how she was able to gather the courage to confess her love to Junko on Christmas Eve. She met Junko's parents (and tore them a new one when they hurt Junko's feelings during their cafe visit). And she patched things up with her cousin Yukiko.

“Onee-chan, please don’t go!” The quivering voices of the distraught five year olds rang out in unison as their tiny arms clung tightly to Yoru’s waist. In a rare display of kindness, the boyish redhead offered a comforting smile, her hands gently rubbing their backs. “Come now, you two... You know I have to go. But I’ll be back to visit as soon as possible, okay?” As she leaned down to kiss their foreheads, she found herself wrapped in an even tighter embrace. “We’ll miss you... And we love you...” The girls mumbled into the hug, eliciting another soft smile from the older one. “I love you both very much...” She said softly, giving them a quick squeeze. “But I have to go now. Be good for Yukiko-chan’s parents.”
As she walked out the door, her auburn eyes caught sight of her taxi. The driver rolled down the window, eyeing her suspiciously as she approached the car. “Hey, kid! I’m here to pick up a girl who’s headed to Astraea Hill. Her name’s, uh... Yoru, or somethin’. You know her?” The redhead’s stony expression remained unchanged. “Yoru Kaguya. That’s me.” She stated simply, sighing inwardly at his surprised reaction. “You? But... That can’t be right. Miator’s an all GIRLS school!” The man exclaimed, clearly confused. Yoru remained unphased, aside from a slight irritated twitch of the eye. “...I AM a girl.” Her tone was cool and flat, but there was no mistaking the hint of vexation beneath it.
The man’s eyes widened as he apologized profusely, but Yoru ignored him completely. The awkward tension in the air during the car ride was incredibly thick. Not that it particularly bothered the boyish girl, who stared blankly out the window the entire time. Observing the scenery brought her peace, and she was glad that the driver at least had the sense not to interrupt that. When they finally arrived at their destination, Yoru stepped out of the car without a word, ignoring the driver’s friendly farewells. With a soft sigh, she began to walk, wondering what her new future had in store.
