This thread is to tell the stories of each etoile pair to date, and will be added to as more Etoiles are elected.
The first Etoile pair on the site was Rin Minigawa and Chibiru Kanoa. Chibiru was Rin's first love, and a perfect being to her in every way. The girl, however soon became sick with a disease that would slowly kill her. Chibiru couldn't bare to tell Rin about the illness, or anyone beyond those who already knew. So she hid it. This mysterious girl from Rin's past tried to prepare Rin for the inevitable, making her promise to fall in love after her, without telling her she'd ever have to keep it. One day, out of the blue, the sickness took her. And the school was informed it had been an accident of some kind- all details left to rumor.
Rin was devastated. She knew what had really happened, the illness couldn't have been prevented nor helped nor slowed. Nothing could have been done. She heard of it from the head sister first, then from Kanoa's family. The very same day, after hearing it in person from both sources, she accused the family of not doing all they could to help her, shunned them and belittled them as worthless slime who didn't even try to save little Chibiru. She stormed out to her dorm where she proceeded to destroy all of Chibiru's belongings before collapsing in utter grief and despair.-Cutting her legs on some broken glass in the process.
Later at the funeral, she was given Chibiru's Red Etoile pendant. That pendant remained in a drawer full of ruined photographs of Rin and Chibiru together for the entire year. Even as Rin found new love in Rachel Gavial, and she disposed of the ruined photos, the necklace was all that remained of Chibiru Kanoa.
When the next year finally came and the new compeition was held, Rin gave her own necklace to Arceia Aeducan, the taller and more dominant girl in the pair called the Seme Etoile. Giving away that necklace wasn't so hard, it was giving away a title, and the attention that went with such things. Giving away the other...was much harder.
She gave the red pendant to the shorter and more subissive girl, the Uke Etoile, Chiyo Sakura. And she made sure the girl knew what it meant. She was the first living girl to wear it since it was removed from Chibiru's unbreathing form. She loved the girl who wore it, and that girl meant more than anything to her. Chiyo would do well to know that, and remember it every day.
Chiyo however understood the value of the necklace, since she had a crush on Chibiru before she had died. However Chiyo did not know it have been a sickness that killed her crush, and instead remains under the idea that it was an accident. Her imagination fills in all manner of terrible things. She wondered if the necklace was cursed. Would every Uke Etoile to wear it from now on die as well? Plus She also knew that Chibiru and Rin had been intimate, in fact Rin was the only girl Chibiru had ever been intimate with at all and vise versa. Chiyo awkwardly feared that being Etoile meant that the two Etoiles would eventually be intimate, which scared her, and she was much too embarrassed to think about how she'd feel if it did happen.
Arceia on the other hand, while not holding the same connection to the former Etoiles, seemed dazed by the election. She enjoyed the title, but couldn't decide if she liked being important or not.
However, by the end of the year, Chiyo did not die and instead feared the Etoile curse was something far worse. What if it was simply that whoever wore the Etoile pendants would eventually end up alone? Upon realizing this might be the real curse, she bough a luck charm from Inari Shrine and gave it to Arceia at the Winter Ball.
But it wasn't enough. An evil student from Spica named Shoka Donomoto met them one day by the gate. The girl practically molested Arceia in front of Chiyo, and said something to her. Whatever that something was caused Arceia to nearly rape Chiyo later that night. Arceia stopped herself, but after that moved out of the dorm, and avoided seeing Chiyo at all costs. Chiyo was heartbroken.
When the year came to an end, Chiyo gave away her cursed red pendant to the adorable deaf young girl from Mitaor, Kitsuki Sha. Kitsuki seemed far too innocent to tell about the curse, and she didn't get a chance to pass the message onto Sado, the new Seme Etoile, when Arceia passed the blue pendant on to her.
Sado began to suspect the curse half way through the year after the Winter Ball. Shoka Donomoto had made an attempt on attacking Kitsuki, and rumors spread saying that in fact, the young Uke was cheating on Sado with the Spican Prince.-Which was not at all the case. In the mean time, Sado was-and had never been in love with Kitsuki, she merely ran for Etoile with her because her dear friend Kitsuki had asked her to, but also made her promise not to tell anyone why they were running. Embarrassed that she was only doing it because her father asked her to. Sado was actually in love with a teacher, Inoue Nayuki. When this rumor got out, the view of the etoiles fell. People began to think innocent Kitsuki was nothing but a tramp who wanted to put any handsome redhead like Sado under her spell, and that Sado was some disloyal seductress who had no feelings for Kitsuki and thus was degrading the Etoile title by being with her at all-and not loving her. Maybe the Etoile curse had nothing to do with it, this was all because of Shoka Donomoto, had gone to all this trouble of attacking Kitsuki for the very purpose of starting such terrible rumors. Why? Because Shoka had tried to attack Kitsuki once before, and Sado had been the one to stop her. From then on, Sado had sworn to protect Kitsuki and Shoka had vowed to destroy Sado.
It was time Sado put a stop to it for good, Shoka would pay for ruining Kitsuki's good name. So without regard for her own soiled reputation, she confronted Shoka on Valentines Day.
And the rest is yet to come!
