My Character Azriella was originally a male wolf. I think I will post famous glances at "his" life here. :3 His life existed purely in roleplay so forgive me if this is hard to follow:
I present to you..One Gain, One loss...
He entered the denser part of the forest where the brush and trees grew close together. it was warm here and bits of ice dripped on their heads and backs as they walked until they arrived at a den. A small overhang of rock covered a tiny cave surrounded by rich dark soil. This place felt even more like home than his apartment. he looked at her once, wondering how she felt about his den and then took off to stand atop the large rock over the den. With one smooth movement he raised his head to the sky once more, letting the pure raining call of his howl echo through the forest, calling his pack to welcome their new member.
He walked back down to her and smirked, waiting for her to figure out his rank as his pack members began to arrive.
"You are the alpha.. Of course.. Im stupid and slow as always.." said the femme who accompanied him she was new to the pack, or would be as soon as she was introduced. "You know.. You could have said something.." She muttered, gaze slipping to her paws.
A new voice entered the clearing, "Said what dear?" Her voice was soothing, almost unworldly as the ivory fay entered the den site. Azriel had called at such an interesting time. Her smile was kind, motherly and she looked upon the newcomer as if she were her own daughter. Judging by Azriel's demeanor she assumed this femme was a new member, "Welcome child. I am Nicomae, beta of this pack." She inclined her head politely, blinking eyes of radiant sapphire. She glanced at Azriel, her piercing orbs trying to tell him that one of their members would not join this happy gathering, or any hereafter.
She sat perfectly still as if a living statue of diamond, fur shining in the light. The beautiful wolf felt as if she had both lost and gained a daughter, for all in the pack were seen as her kin. Whether this new member should see her as a mother, a sister, or simply a pack-mate, Nicomae would call her as if her own. For nothing could break the bond of a den mother.
"Hello.. My name is Julia Francis.. It is very nice to meet you.." She said and nodded in Nicomaes direction. Responded the other.
Azriel watched these interactions, pleased for the time being as Nicomae's pup skipped in.
A small noise, a pause then POUNCE! The teen still acted very much like a pup as she surprised the other wolf, rolling around her happily, tongue lolling to the side, "Hey there!" she laughed, "I'm Naomi, you're new huh? Juliaa right? Ha, ha, That's great, can't wait till you meet everyone," she looked from her place on the ground to her foster mother, "Hey mother, where's Azzy? Isn't she coming? Is she here?" She rolled over and sniffed the air, "Wait a minute, I can't smell her coming..." She suddenly forgot about the newcomer and climbed the rock above the den, "Azzy!" She howled, "Aaaaaazzzyyyyyy!!!" She waited, there was no reply. "Mother, what's wrong...why isn't..?" she gasped and shut her mouth suddenly, looking at Azriel. He was mad at Azzy from almost missing the hunt, now missing a family gathering? "Azzy's in trouble huh?" She looked to her mother, then the new wolf. Oblivious to the fact that this new wolf had no idea what was going on.
Azriel's gaze hardened and he bore it into Nicomae,
"Why isn't she coming?" He felt a growl threatening in his throat, "Why wouldn't she?" he was standing now, legs tense. His sister has better have an explanation for this, since she already seemed to know something like this would happen. He listened, but there was no reply from the lowly pack member., no answering call to Naomi's howl. He assumed Azzy was gone. The fay who looked so much like him has deserted her pack. She was free to do so, but he was outraged. Desertion. Abandonment. How dare she. His hackles were already bristling as he waited for an explanation.
"She has left us Azriel, she said she was in love. She will never be coming back." She glanced at Naomi, knowing how heartbroken she'd be over her pack-mate leaving. She approached Julia, "Do not worry about her. She is no longer a part of this pack." She sat beside her protectively and met Azriel's hard gaze with her own, "It was her own choice. I told her to follow her heart. So she did. She is free Azriel. You can not hold that against her."
Even though Azzy was no longer part of her pack, she would protect and defend her decision. Nicomae's love did not end with the ties of a pack. She would love forever, and much longer. "I'm sorry Juliaa, that you had to come to us at such a sad time. But there is no need for the rest of us to dwell," she glanced at Naomi, "we have a new member now, and that should fill us with joy." She smiled warmly at Juliaa, but it did nto reach her eyes as she gave Azriel a warning glare. She feared he may do something irrational, and sh would need to stop him. Such a thing she wished the newcomer would not have to see, but like a fierce storm and the cracking of ice, she would move swiftly and without hesitation to Protect Azzy from Azriel's belated wrath.
"What?!" His voice was a vicious bark, his suspicions had been realized, traitorous wench! How dare she abandon the pack! He growled baring his teeth noticing that Nicame's positin beside Julia was blocking the way out. "Out of my way." He snarled, lowering his head. he would make Azzy pay for this. Since she had left his pack, she thus left his protection, and thus he would unleash his wrath as he willed it.
If Nicomae would fight him, and like a winter storm, she would, then he would fight as well. Nicomae at least understood the demons she was facing, and just to what extent he would go. "I said MOVE!" he munged at her, ivories flashing like white death in the light. He was aiming for her side, for while he still had his sanity, he did not wish to kill her. Yet if the darkness took over that tiny bit of light in his soul, then he would not be held responsible for her death, she knew her opponent, and knew him well. Too well for Azriel's taste, it was about time he had a reason to attack his self-absorbed wretch of a sister. He felt himself wanting to stain her pretty fur crimson, and waited for the feel of her flesh in his jaws.
She leaped away from Julia so as she save her for any side attack and thus let his jaws tear into her shoulder. She turned her daggers on him to pierce his side. She touched his mind wither own. Communicating telepathically. (OOC: forgot to mention that julia, nicomae is telepathic)"Is is free to her own decision's Azriel! She is no longer part of this pck and thus none of your concern! Even you should know that!" She jumped back when his hold allowed it, and know he would attack again, she lunged back at him. Jaws snapping to stop him from passing her. Her brother was monstrous in size compared to her and she was barely a match for him in combat. "Stay Back!" She called to Naomi, knowing her daughter would want to help. "Azriel you must calm down!" She felt her muscles straining against his attacks, "Azzy is free now, you will not harm her!"
"But she abandoned us, left her pack for some other wolf!" He snapped at her again to catch something more tender in his jaws, "She's a traitor, who doesn't deserve to live!" he felt himself slipping at the white half of his face covered in her blood. She had betrayed him, she had left him. All that time ago, it was her who had forced him into desertion. He had no tolerance for it. He began to forget that it was Azzy they were fighting over and his mind ran with bloddied thoughts of her that wolf, forsake her name and burn her soul. How battered and lost was that love? "Ha!" His eyes became crazed the more the thought of her, "Abandonment means death!" He fought until he was free to run and took off into the brush, his sister's blood dripping from his open, crazed jaws. Her! It was her! Just like her! That one, that wretched traterous loathsome little b*tch that she was. "I'll kill her, I'll kill her.' She doesn't have a pack to save her this time, not this time, no I'll kill her!" he laughed, insane, lost in the past. he ad forgotten Azzy, forgotten that all he could remember was the name, he roared it with all his might, all his rage. Thhe scent of blood making him lost even deeper withing himself, that name her name, the reason for his blood lust born of tyranny, "HELL FANG!!"
She yelped loudly as he tore from her and started running, she immediately took off after him trying not to limp. "Azriel!" she cried, desperate; she could smell the adrenaline on him, this was getting out of hand. She fell into a sprint after him, trailing blood behind her but ignoring the pain. If he reached Azzy in this condition she'd-
"HELL FANG!!"
She heard his bestial roar and knew. He was no longer in this world, but now trapped in his past. "Azriel!" she called, catching sight of the black demon though the trees. She ran and lept over a large stone in the way and dove through the low hanging branches, mustering up all her energy to do something incredibly stupid.
She slammed her body into what she thought was his, closing her eyes as she did so. She hoped he would be jarred back into reality, or he would be knocked unconscious by a tree. If not, then her life was now in danger for in this state of mind he was seemingly unstoppable. "Azriel, there is no Hell Fang anymore!" She pleaded, "She is not here, no one has abandoned anyone! Come back to me Azriel!" She continued hounding him, she would parry his attack with her own. She only hoped to calm him down now. Being angry with Azzy was one thing, but this was something far worse than any of his other pack members, or any in the valley could imagine. Only Nicomae knew and understood this side of him, aside from Pyscho, but she was gone as well. No one could stop him, but her and perhaps not even she would be enough.
The sudden mass of weight hit him from one side and he flew back against the clustered trees and dense foliage. He looked to the fay, but did not see, his eyes gone white from rolling back in his head. His massive form and bloodied fur made him look like a monster, something that should not exist and yet here he was. Breathing, huffing, snarling. He leapt blindly careening toward the mass. What was that scent? Familiar. But it wasn't Hell Fang, not her, not his kill. He was after her. This thing would not stop him! He snapped, lunged, jumped back, weaving around his target, letting his instincts guide him. He didn't care, couldn't care, couldn't see as he attcked, rabid and unforgiving.
His muscles burned from the attack, the running, the blood, the adrenaline, her it was her He could smell it now. So much blood, all that blood. "Hell Fang! We meet again," he tore at his opponent, "you betrayed me, forced me from my home when you knew I had no when to go! You didn't understand, you could never understand, and you will die for your ignorance!" He could see it now, those falsely sweet eyes, that black fur, so dainty, souch a lie. He could remember his jaws in her throat, her blood on the cave walls. He cry for help that would mean his permanent banishment. "how dare you Hell Fang!? How dare you!" He kept attacking and each time he heard the satisfying rip of flesh he laughed, drowing in his own mind.
Julia had gotten so shocked by his attack so she had frozen but now when she heard them fighting out there she felt like she had to do something so she started running towards the sound. She could hear him screaming about some Hell fang.. Maybe there was another wolf now but when she reached the place she saw him ripping and tearing at Nicomae she let out a scream from the shock and then ran toward him and pushed him out of balance. She couldnt just let him keep hitting and tearing at Nicomae! "Azriel! Stop this!!" She screamed at him in fear. She now understood what he had been talking about all this time but she couldnt just let him do this.
She cried out again and again as he attacked her, pinning her. She tried to howl but knew if she did it would only feed his twisted memory. Her fur now looked liek stained ptals among the red of the snow. He could smell her, he was following her with his nose and fangs alone. "I'm not Hell Fang!" she choked out through the blood in the throat. She twisted her body this way and that to kick him off, keep her from finishing his gory scene. If he thought she was Hell Fang, he would be going for her throat. "No! Azriel Stop! Come back to reality! I'm not Hell Fang! Someone!" He was barking loudly, but not howling. She wasn't sure if anyone would hear her. She knew he was beyond reason, her voice was falling on deaf ears. At this rate his frenzied fantasy would kill her, he needed to come back to reality. "AZRIEL!" She shouted as he tore at her again. She kept calling his name in the vain hope that he would come to his senses. If someone came what would they do, what could they do? She couldn't take it, she howled as loud as she could, someone, anyone. She did not want to die here. The victim of her brother's macabre past visions.
Julia was growling at Azriel trying to get his attention so he would stop hurting Nicomae. She kept tackling him so he lost his balance but she couldnt come to the fact of hurting him bad.. But it was like she had to. She couldnt think clearly and was starting to panic. " Azriel!! Its me you want! I am Hell Fang!" She screamed in desperation. But wouldnt know if he would fall for it.
Two Hell Fangs? No, couldn't be. He had torn her, ripped her, this one at his feet. Or had he? He couldn't remember, blind in vision and defied of clarity of mind. If this once allowed herself Hell Fang then she would die as well. he went for her next, throwing his massive form at her. If she was fast enough, she would avoid his jaws. The last time he had gotten like this, it had taken her entire pack to stop him, and the seventy miles of running for him to regain his senses. If no one could rival him, would his unharnessed rage go unstopped? Would he be left in madness killing all for a vision, a blur of the past? What thing would he become? Who would stop him? Who could stop him? And with another roar of rage, he lunged again.
Azzy entered the commontion:
"No!" She cried out as she spotted the bloodly lump on the ground and immediately knew it was Nicomae, her eyes flew in horror to the monster facing away from her and toward Nicomae? But wait, no, this one was younger, couldn't be. But she was about to look a lot like the pile of meat on the ground if someone didn't stop Azriel. She knew it was him, though she hardly recognized him, "Johnny!" She pleaded, knowing he could do something, but hoping she wasn't wrong and she ran to Nicomae on the ground. She nuzzled and licked a the bloody heap, "Are you alive? Don't die Nicomae! Not because of me, please...." She licked at her wounds frantically and looked up worried for the other girl and Johnny. "Azreil!" She cried, "Johnny!" She was confused, but knew he had to be stopped. She had never seen this side of her alpha before, and it terrified her. How could he do this to Nicomae? His own sister? SHe went back to trying to revive her old den mother.
Naomi heard her mother's cry and ran as fast as she could, she found them and froze. Not in all her life had she ever seen so much blood, she had never seen Azriel like this, and her mother..her mother...? her mouth fell open as she saw the heap and Azzy.
"Azzy!" She ran to her, "What happend? Mother? Mother? Wake up! Mother!" She couldn't think, she didn't understand any of this, what was happening, why was Azriel hurting everyone?
And Azzy's mate Johnny was close behind...
Johnny saw the injured wolfess and immedatly reconzed her as the wolf he had met on the clifs, Azrile's sister! 'he did that to his own sister?!' thought as he stepped to face him, he looked crazier then ever. JOhnny lunged at him, snapping his teath at Azriel's throat. he wou;ld not hame any body else if Johnny could help it
This presence was different, male. Not Hell Fang, not her. With the small wolf attacking him from one side and the new wolf who nearly rivaled him in siz attacking from the front, it was enough to slow him down. It wouldn't be hard to throw off the other wolf, but this big one was a problem, and was a good match for him in strength. Ingoring the smaller femme and the commotion around him, he went to Johnny throat. His eyes still rolled back in his head with rage.
"Don't die!" he heard someone call. Die? Was she dead? Hell Fang was dead? HE started laughing as he attacked Johnny as if it were a game he had won. This fight was now a trifle. "Where is she? Let me see her!" He fought off Johnny to turn toward the direction of the sound. Hell Fang's death, her death was his to claim, it had happened. Like a wonderful dream, he had killed her. What a sight, what a sight, Hell Fang was dead. Finally dead! But he couldn't see. He imagined her in the caves, the scent of her blood, her motionless body. Yes, that's what need needed, peace. Rapture.
But wait, her alpha, that must be this one, this new one. He turned on Johnny again, "You rid me of my home, you stole her from me, now you will pay for that. Help her now, fool! You can not! Hell Fang is DEAD!" He dove into Johnny's open jaws, fighting and snapping at anything that could get near his mouth.
Johnny saw him turn back to him, he looked him nin the eyes, they were empty, like a ghost.
JOhnny was a bit confused when he statred to yell at him "what are you talking about you mad man!" as AZ lunged at him, one thought went though his mind, "got to time this perfectly." As his teeth got close to his face, He suddnealy moved to the side which left his shoulder open, but then moved his hed in and snapped at his ear as hard as he could....
It worked the sharp pain cut through his head as his teeth would cut through Johhny's side. That one jarring pain was eough to snap something back in his mind. "She's dead!" he kept saying as he suddenly let go and stumbled away, laghing and panting, "she's dead, they're all dead. I killed them, they won't do that to me...again..." His eyes fell back, staring ahead. He was walking away from them all, into the brush, The blackness of his own soul. "She's..dead.." he was muttering to himself now, alone in the brush several yards from them. They wouldn't be able to hear him rambling as his dazed vision began to swim from loss of blood. "She's dead...She's finally.." the blood coming from his wounds and the adrenaline rush had left him weakened. He was alone now, He flopped onto the ground but couldn't tell where he was, he couldn't think about anything else. "She..Hell Fang is finally..." And all reality left him into the darkness as a tear trickled from the bloodied white side of his face.
Johnny was going to follow him, but he dident seem to pose to much of a threat, so he turned his attion to more important matters.
he rushed over to the wonded one, dispite his once again wonded shoulder.
"how is she?" he asked Azzy, and then saw her pup, "hey," he said softly "are you ok?"
Azriel seemed to limp off in a daze and disappear, though Azzy couldn't tear her eyes from Nicomae. "Please say something!" At least Johnny, was alright, that much she new at least, but.. "Nicomae..." She listened intently for a heart beat and couldn't hear it over the pounding of her own heart. Anything, a nose a breath an twitch. Something to say she was still alive. She burid her nose into the femme's shredded coat and whined, "Nicomae...not because of me, please not me..." She sobbed now but she wasn't sure. there was a tiny hope that she might still live through this.
Julia came up to them all wondering if Nicomae would make it.. She was very shocked by how Azriel had reacted to this thing about this Azzy.. And how it ended up.. Horrible.. She just wanted to sit down and cry.. "Is she okey?" Julia asked with a puzzled look on her face.. She was scared as hell for this kind wolf to die..
Naomi looked up, her eyes wide and teary like a puppy. "Is mother going to...die?" She asked Johnny. She didn't know this stranger but he was older than her, and she saw him as an adult, and adults always had answers. She saw Azzy crying into her mother's fur and this brought tears to her own eyes. "Mommy?" She asked, nudging her her voice cracking with the pain. "Mommy? Are you okay? Mommy?" She put her belly to the ground, her tail tucked between her legs, as she nudged her mother's snout with her own, "Wake up..mommy don't be dead now...please..I love you mommy..."Her whines echoed Azzy's as she waited for a response as well.
Johnny sent a worried glance over at Azzy, then looked back at the pup
"sh-she'll be fine kid."
He walked over to Azzy "Azzy, are you ok, I am sure She will be fine." he said and sat next to her
Must listen to lullaby, requiem or gravity on the playlist as you read this.
"Mommy?" that word, through the red, she opened her eyes as the haze cleared. Such a beautiful sight, her daughter, her pack. She opened her mouth, no sound, she tried again there was a gurgle, then "Azriel...Where is he?" Her voice was like an autumn leaf, fragile, so close to brink of...What was that?
Whirr That noise..Her vision faded to darkness and then back again, "Azriel..."
He was alright, she sensed it, "Good.." she breathed, "Don't blame him for this," her voice was quieter now, like an undetected breeze trough the winter air. "It's not..." she coughed and blood found its way from her jowls, "his fault." she could hear the ruckus of tears, "Why the tears?...I'm sorry I never got to meet you Juliaa" she tried to say, but there was no sound now. "I love you too," she tried to say telepathically to her daughter though she thought all could hear it.
"I'll stay.." she said though her mental connection, "I'll never leav.."
A wind blew through the gathering, her fur rustled, a bird cried out. There was a tiny breath, like the whisper and then silence. Nicomae, shaman of the forest, descendant of the Lady Azmith lay still. Her blue eyes glazed in permanent silence, her pain gone. Her only wish, that someone look after her brother as she had, and would continue to. Soon, very soon. But now there was silence as a soft, quiet snow began to fall.
Johnny's face was stone solid, he showed no emotion. he shifted to his anthro form and closed her eyes, then shifted back.
"she is with Azmith now." He said quietly..
Julia felt tears on her face. She didnt notice that she was crying intill she felt the tears on her paws. Falling down.. It was just so heart breaking.. How could heaven take such a kind and caring soul away?? She bowed her head in respect for the dead body.. Then she had to turn away to hide the pain and tears in her eyes. SHe had only met this person today.. But that was what she was crying for.. Now she never will get the chance to know her.. She sat a distance away from the crying wolfs and blamed herself for not stopping Azriel in time.. If she didnt have frozen like she did this would have not happened.. She laid down on the ground and just listened to the painful cries the forest and her pack members made.. 'Azriel.. His sister.. What will he do after this..' She thought slowly to herself.
Johnny Looked away, He had known her only a little bit, but she had a profound effect one his life, it was her words that had inspired him to start a pack in the first place.
He also blamed him self, Johnny figured that he was the reason Azriel went nuts, he had taken one of his pack members away, He could not stand to look at her body any more.
Naomi stood slowly, her tiny pup-sized body shaking with grief, the misery, the sheer sadness consumed her and she raised her head to the sky letting her requiem ring out over the valley. Her howling cry of heartbreak raised up above the trees, beyond the clouds to Azmith. To her mother. The entire valley would hear the sound of mourning from Nicomae's adopted daughter. As the note met it's crescendo and fell again, she couldn't help but howl again, poring her soul into this last cry for her mother. She didn't look like a pup now, she looked like the teen she had become and though her innocent eyes were wide like a pup, they now held the sight of death that deemed her mature for all to see. Her eyes were closed and she howled again, for her mother, the only mother she had never known.
Azzy joined in the call, howling to the rising moon through the falling snow. Her voice falling in harmony with Naomi's and the grief, the sound of harmonious sympathy and pain filling the air, there was no escape from such a sound. The sound of heartbreak. She too howled again, and a third time. This was no longer her den mother, no longer her family, but the pain was the same. She could not ignore that this was a tragedy, and her fault. If she hadn't left the pack then...But now it was done. She would still stay with Johnny, and perhaps this was good reason to leave the pack anyway. She always knew her old alpha had something dark inside him. The very thing she feared was within her as well. Nicomae had said not to blame him, but azzy's heart felt cold toward him. They would be enemies now, she couldn't bring herself to forgive. How could Nicomae still forgive him even after she knew he had killed her? it didn't make sense, and still she called out. Mourning her old friend and almost-sister.
They sent a fresh bolt of sadness through his hart. He eyes locked on the pup. ‘poor thing.’ Johnny thought. Then a slightly frightening thought crossed his mind. ‘she wont be safe here, what if he finds her?’ he dident even give Azriel the grace of thinking his name. he walked over to Azzy and licked her face. “I am so sorry. This is my fault.” He said. Then leaned in much closer and whispered to her,
“the pup wont be safe here, she seems to know you should we watch her for a while?”
"If.." she looked to the other wolf, the white one who looked so much like..like..Nicomae, a new wave of tears fell as she thought the name, "She's not a pup anymore...she'll take care of herself. They are still a pack and...the new wolf can watch her. She...She isn't my.." she remembered the days last summer when she had to babsit the pup so often, "responsibility anymore..."She nuzzled into his fur, "I don't belong here now...and it's best I not be here when he wakes up. I'm not sure..how he'll react." she felt her feelings change, "This is not my pack," she walked over to julia, "Take care of her will you? Naomi...Take care of her for me...and for..Nicomae too..you.." she sniffed, "You look so much like her I...I'm sorry I caused all this..." she looked at her a moment, but there were no more words. It was time to go.
Johnny noded.
"of course." He said and looked at the other two. "I am so sorry. if you need help, if he wakes up and hasent changed, you just call and we will come." Johnny said and turned and licked Azzy's muzzel, "lets go." he said and start walking back to his territory.
And now Azriel returns...
Waking was hard, pain, so familiar. She had been there...no, not she, not her….it was someone else. She was gone, he knew that. Where was he? His eyes opened to the bright daylight beneath the forest. This was his forest, his home, his territory with his pack…his pack? He could smell them, he couldn’t remember but…that scent. No, not that scent. He limped quickly back, following the trail of his own blood. First he saw the shuffled dirt, the signs of a fight. There was no scent of Hell Fang here and yet…blood. All tha-
“No…”he breathed. She was there, half buried in the snow. Nicomae, she was dead, he could tell and his scent was all over her. He had done this. How could he? Yes he had dreamed of taking her snide throat in his jaws, but never would have…He gaped at the body and couldn’t bring himself to think. The snow surrounded him, though it had stopped falling now. “Nicomae…I..I killed you…” he said it out loud as if to make it more real to him. His kin, his only living kin…and she was gone. Naomi wasn’t even related to him, for she was adopted. He no longer had any related family. He was alone, if it weren’t for…
He looked at Julia and Naomi, both looked so much like her, so much like Nicomae, his only sister. He had done it again, only he had finished it. She was not living, not limping away to some traitorous form of help. Traitor. Azzy? He could smell her too, but she was gone. The throbbing in his ear started, he didn’t doubt it had nearly been torn off, but he knew Azmith would have it heal like new all too soon. His rage toward Azzy melted, powerless before bitter sorrow of the betrayal he had committed himself. His only promise to himself, never harm a pack-mate, especially her, was broken.
He remembered when she had found him, that day at the lake back before he had met Hell Fang. She had been a teen then, like himself, “You,” she had said, “I know you!” She had run to him, the scent he could not deny was quite like his own. She had revealed herself to be his sister. Her fur had been darker then, black and shining green in the light. With her age shifting to adult it had all left, a white wolf, her color as pure as her soul. Her eyes still the same crystalline blue. So beautiful. He bowed his head over the body, as the snow began to fall again, then it turned to rain, washing the blood from them both. One could not see the tears on his maw now. But the pain in his eyes cut deeper than his teeth ever could. His howl rang out, low, but powerful; the sound of his own misery, his shame, such self loathing. He let it all out as his heart swelled with grief.
“Nicooomaaaaaaeeeee!” Was his cry, though his howl was the only sound heard and he lay down before her, feeling broken. He was sure he would lose them now, the rest of his pack, they would surely leave him, he stared at her, the rain falling, melting the snow and turning it to mud beneath him. ‘What will I do?’ he thought, he deserved to be alone. Should have been from the start, it was Azmith’s fault he had come to gain a pack to begin with. It was her fault, that goddess was as malicious and vengeful as he. His gaze was sad, but did not move, he blinked slowly, liquid gold eyes still upon the corpse. He deserved it, the desertion Hell Fang had given him so long ago. He should never have spited it or her. This was too much to pay for his madness. He cursed the darkness in his soul as the white half of his face was cleaned of blood. He had returned to reality. There was no madness in him now, only the sadness for his crime. “Nicomae…”he whispered, “Nicomae…” he fully expected to be abandoned by the last two members of his pack. The Azmith pack would cease to be, and he would be alone, as he should be. His heart bled within for her, his only sister now dead, “Not you...I never meant you,” he thought, “I never wanted to, never...not you…” he let his thoughts wander through the rain and the soft wind that trailed through the trees. “I’m so sorry…” he whispered aloud the only feeling left in his aching heart and closed his eyes.
