This is her favorite outfit and she sometimes pulls on a black fedora and a jacket mirroring the pattern of her bag to add more flare. Is your character on the Student Council? Yes
If yes, what does your character think of the student council president? Shogi thinks Himiko Miyamae is really cool and admires her love of sports and adventures. She thinks she is an amazing leader – one that is defiantly fit to fill the responsibility of being Spica’s Student Council President. Along with her great leadership qualities, her overall openness is something Shogi really admires. It pleases her to be able to serve on the council with a great president.
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
All in all, Shogi’s cheerful exterior rivals her darker interior. On the outside, she is very cheerful about pretty much everything and though not very clear at times, she is a bit more on the rebel side. A lover of adventures, Shogi tries to make an adventure out of everything. Whether it be challenging herself to something she has never done before or simply just trying to haul herself out of bed every early morning, some kind of adventure is always formulating in her head. She is known to get overly excited at random times – something she is trying to change after realizing it can be VERY annoying. It is because of this one might regard her as someone that is suffering from a never-ending sugar rush.
It isn’t very hard to regard that assumption as true, however, for the girl practically runs on sugar. Lollipops, pocky, cookies, chocolate, konpeito – and the list goes on. Sweets are an equivalent to a tangible form of happiness in her eyes, so she prefers to carry them around with her everywhere regardless if she is forced to keep them hidden or not. Sometimes you might find a trail of candy wrappers that will lead you right to her. When she is not consuming inhumane amounts of sugar, she can be found completely burned out and not willing to do anything that requires her to get up and be active. It makes her become really lazy and sleep a lot. (Waking her up when she is in this state is really hard)
Though easily outgoing, the Shogi that seems to spew words out one-hundred miles per hour that you can seem to never shut up can become a little shy at times. When embarrassed or even in front of someone she likes, she may become flustered and start tripping on her words. During these times, she is prone to becoming very clumsy to the point where she will somehow manage to trip herself on a flat surface and face plant into anything nearby. She will do this at random times, however, even is the situation is different. Some regard it as endearing, others quite frankly annoying. It’s almost like her mind just leaves her for a moment. She is working hard to fix this as to not be regarded as a lousy scatterbrain as her nee-sama always calls her.
Her cheerful interior all comes crashing down when she finds something she likes or if someone leaves her. Be it a person, item, or animal - once her heart becomes attached to it, she won’t let anyone have it or be in possession of it. If an item, she will go as far as breaking it violently to not let anyone have it – if a person, she might chase off anyone who even looks at them in a certain way. Yes, Shogi is a yandere at heart. Developed out of a strong phobia of being left alone, she finds it hard to trust people sometimes, and has a bad habit of turning her back on someone she surmises will leave her even if she is told otherwise. Practically anything she touches can become some sort of weapon she will use to guard the object or person of her feelings. (Because she plays baseball, she keeps a baseball bat near the foot of her bed just to scare people) These mildly psychotic episodes do not fall into play if one is to steal her candy – she has more than she needs, and though it might upset her a bit, she really does not care that much if someone took some while she wasn’t looking. Taking a piece of candy doesn’t deserve a missing hand or finger.
Overall, Shogi is incredibly cheerful and will try her best to make anyone happy. If she cannot, she might become a little depressed, but will not stop in her efforts. If a stranger girl is crying or upset, she will prance right up to them and try to cheer them up with a smile, a hug, a piece of candy, a friendly conversation, or a friendly kiss on the cheek. To Shogi, everyone at least deserves to smile even if just for a second. Though a semi-psycho yandere inside, she is always willing to plaster a smile on her face and keep herself happy no matter what. Just like her nee-sama, she wishes to stay strong through everything. No matter how many fake smiles it may cost.
What does you character think of the Etoile position as a whole? She admires it and adores the thought of two girls truly in love working through hardships together hand in hand. It is a well-respected title and requires a huge responsibility overall, but thinks the whole ordeal to even get a chance at the title is unsavory.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday? Yes, one day if she had a chance. She would never openly admit it, but if the right girl came along, she might just end up chirping the desire unconsciously.
What does your character think of the current etoiles? Shogi greatly respects Akemi and Ayuki and hopes to perhaps one day have the pleasure of meeting them. She thinks Ayuki is absolutely adorable and pure. Seeming pretty easy to take advantage of, she worries a little about her, and hopes no one comes along and manipulates her. As for Akemi, she admires her colorful personality and strong determination. Maybe seemingly a little arrogant at times with a love of showing off to others. Overall, Shogi admires and respects them.
What does your character think of the other schools? Shogi thinks Miator is a bit strict and does not like the ladylike policies it enforces its students to follow. Completely aware of the tension sparking between Miator and Spica, she prefers to stay out of it unless directly involved. As for Lulim, she adores the outfits and the school’s fun extra-curricular activities. It seems a little too laid back to her sometimes.
~History~
Please write in 100 words or more your character's history before she came to Spica.
All her life had been comprised of people coming and going. Of others opening doors just to slam them shut again without looking back. Shogi grew up alongside her twin sister Shumi in a small house in Aomori, Japan. With only her mother to support them with various low-paying jobs, the house was always ablaze with stranger voices and faces of those that paid to rent various rooms. These people rarely stayed, and those she had grown attached too merely blew away too quickly with the bitter winds that had stolen the others. She began to grow afraid of being left alone after seeing how easily people can leave, and her obsessive yandere interior quickly overtook her.
It wasn’t until she met a young woman by the name of Kumi Shirogane at age ten did it make its violent appearances. This woman was a skilled florist whose remarkable talent with flowers was yet to be recognized. Shogi spent hours with her every day, enjoying her time with her. That beautiful florist had been her first crush, though she was too young at the moment to even realize what love was. All she knew was being around Kumi made her happy. Six months after she had first moved in, the woman’s boyfriend came to visit and stole her away to live with him in Kyoto, leaving Shogi heartbroken and upset. It was then her aversion to men implanted itself into her brain and she began to get a little violent on those who threatened to leave her. A man stole Kumi away… And they would steal everyone away from her…
The next few years Shogi spent trailing in Shumi’s shadow. She had always admired her twin sister and respected her sister dearly though the girl never returned the respect mutually. Whenever Shumi threatened to leave, Shogi’s yandere tendencies would counter her threat, but she would never get violent with her sister. At age twelve, Shogi discovered Astrea Hill’s St. Spica Girl’s Institute and quickly begged her mother to let her enroll. No men. A fresh start. A lot of girls. As long as she forced herself to stay happy during her time there no matter what happened, nothing could go wrong, right? Her mother soon enrolled her and she was whisked away to Astrea. This time alone…without someone’s hand to grab on to. It was here that her fear of loneliness would be stretched… Just how long could a sweet smile really cover the obsessive psycho inside?

“I’m home, you idoit!”
That voice…
“Nee-sama! Nee-sama! Welcome back!” Shogi flew down the hallway with a lollipop jutting from her mouth and tackled her black-haired twin Shumi. The soaked girl growled and struggled violently in her arms. Small beads of frigid water struck the excited peach-haired girl’s face when Shumi moved. They slipped down her ivory cheeks like tears. It made her shiver.
…The one I know so well…
“Why are you all wet, nee-sama?” The peach-haired girl inquired with a giggle. It was meant to be quiet, but it came out more like a whispered shout. Shumi crushed her bare foot with a shoed heel to silence her.
“O-Ow ow ouch-!”
“Jeez, so loud! I cannot believe you forgot!” She was practically screaming.
So angry…
The edge of anger that laced her sister’s mature voice soured Shogi’s blueberry lollipop. She could not comprehend why her sister was angry. What had she forgotten? Perhaps her sister was mistaken? Agh, so stupid! Why can’t I remember?! As if she had ran out of time to guess, Shumi peeled her wet jacket off and chucked it at her, aiming for her head. It missed, but it was enough to drop the other girl a hint at just how mad she was.
Going farther and farther away from me…
“You were supposed to stay and help put away the track team’s materials!” She snapped. “It started to rain, and I got caught in it while you had already ran off hours ago with the umbrella! You…You lousy good-for-nothing scatterbrain! This is the seventeenth time you’ve abandoned me like that!”
“Nee-sama…I’m-“
“I don’t want to hear it! Just forget it! I’ve had enough…”
Leaving me…Again…
With that, Shumi collected her jacket and slipped it on yet again. Shogi’s eyes widened when she saw her reach for the umbrella resting just beside the door. Her sister…was leaving her. She’d rather be outside in the rain then with her…. A scatterbrain…
¬But…You promised-
As the girl pulled the door open, Shogi seized her wrist. Her thick peach bangs shaded her eyes from view and an alarming grin was stretched across her face. So tight was her grip on her sister’s wrist that the sickening crackling of bone became present. It made Shumi want to vomit.
“You promised you wouldn’t leave me again…”
And with a muffled gasp the door was slammed shut-
