Name: Victoria "Tori" Miller ((skittles))
School Attending: Spica
Age/ Year in School:
~ Appearance ~
Face Claim: Darjeeling (Girls und Panzer)
Hair Color: Light-to-middling blonde of a sort of corn variety of yellow. Tori insists you refer to the tone as 'corn potage', since that sounds more cultured.
Hairstyle: Typically, as she feels befits a true lady, Tori wears her locks up in a neat and efficient braided bun whilst leaving feminine bangs in the front. On truly rare occasions she'll let her hair down, which reveals it's naturally wavy when not bundled up.
Eye Color: Deep sapphire blue, a hint of mischief never far away in the way they twinkle.
Height: 5'2"
What kind of clothes does you character wear when she's not in uniform? Being of the upper class, at least so far as she's concerned, Tori tries to dress in a way that reflects this. Often this means semi-formal outfits that consist of plain but somewhat lacy blouses and tops, long skirts and riding boots. Red is one of her favorite colors so often at least one part of her non-uniform clothing will feature that color. If possible she prefers the red to be a jacket or other second layer on top, in emulation of 'proper British jackets'. It's not unheard of for her to dress casually but she's semi-formal more often than not.
What Sports/activities is you character involved in? You may choose "none" or a maximum of three from the list below.
Equestrian Sports: Yes
Horse name: Inevitable Come From Behind Victory ("Evvy" for short)
Horse gender, breed and appearance: Female, Mangalarga Marchador, a mostly chocolate brown coat most prominent towards the center of her body, fading into black towards the rear, head and hooves. Evvy also has a black mane and tail, with a single white splotch just above the rear left hoof.
Fencing: Yes
Hockey: Yes
Is your character on the Student Council? No, that would simply monopolize too much of her time to be worthwhile for a truly cultured Englishwoman. Student governance can be left to those who wish to lead. Besides the free time she saves by not being on the student council can be spent finding pretty maidens to socialize with.
If yes, what does your character think of the student council president, Himiko Miyamae? Tori may not be on the Student Council but the reputation of such a prominent girl certainly has heard of Ms. Miyamae. From what she gathers the girl is a hard worker and devoted to her peers, but quite peculiar in her interests. To Tori's mind this makes her a bit uncouth, and she's not sure the girl is suited for the leadership position. On the other hand she wants to do it, so let the young woman be so long as Tori is free to pursue her own interests.
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more: Tori's basic outlook on life can be summed up as simply seeking out whatever makes her happy, then seizing it at every opportunity. She's quite playful and will toy around with things so long as she finds them entertaining. This is not to say she is neglectful or cold-hearted, just more that she's often flitting between different things that catch her attention. Joy can be brought through a variety of sources of the same sort of thing, often with Tori not being terrible discriminating in her tastes. However her interests tend to be wildly varied and easily categorized as 'things Tori believes that rich people would do.' Her family is so newly wealthy that she feels responsible for perpetrating an image of cultured refinement it simply does not have in reality.
In everyday life she carries herself with surprising grace despite this reality, makes a point of dressing up semi-formally out of uniform and maintaining the air of an English aristocrat. It's ruined the moment she speaks in her native tongue, since she has a thick Cockney accent and vocabulary of lower class slang littering her words. Either by natural inclination or in part to act like a proper upper class lady she's rather polite and pleasant to everyone she meets. She's not above insulting those she thinks lesser of, or flirting with anyone she remotely likes. Sometimes the flirting is just joking and intended to cause them to become flustered. Others it's a way to pass the time. Still others it's a genuine sign of affection from her to the girls around her, admittedly a rather peculiar one.
In secret she feels kind of restless about herself. Suddenly becoming a family of wealth opened up a world of possibilities with very few answers as to what would really make her happy. Left kind of to her own devices she's branched out all over the place to try and find what makes her heart sing. Thus far it's been very mixed results. It's also led to her having a very high opinion of herself as a 'proper Englishwoman', though she gets very defensive about the smallest thing as a way to cover her previously lower class origins.
What does you character think of the Etoile position as a whole? Despite disinterest in the institutions of student leadership, Etoile is absolutely a different matter. It's incredibly romantic, beautiful, poetic and a longstanding tradition which all makes it something an aristocratic lady would be proud to achieve. Of course it does also require one to commit to one partner, which might in itself be somewhat difficult to do.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday? There is certainly a genuine interest on Tori's part in the position, though she honestly doesn't see it happening immediately. If she's to commit herself to one girl in particular she wants to ensure that the girl is truly someone she wishes to be with exclusively. This might be difficult but one never knows what will happen in a magical place like Astraea Hill.
What does your character think of the current etoiles, Maiko Suzumi and Kagami Hiruko? Maiko is a wonderfully mature girl who carries herself with the grace and poise that are everything a noblewoman should be. She's selected a rather lovely companion from what little Tori knows about them. A little shy, that Kagami, but she's a Spica girl and therefore has the full support of Tori. Given her demeanor Kagami is also a good example of traditional feminine virtue at the side of her noble partner. Hard to come up with a pair that would be more fitting based on that combination!
What does your character think of the other schools? Every school has a noble and upright history, though Tori is obviously partial to St. Spica as she attends classes there. In terms of official competitions she gets behind Spica over its traditional rival in green and black. Otherwise she finds that each institution has its own particular tastes: Miator refined in pure feminine grace and beauty, lovely girls who are the very image of traditional womanhood. LeRim is filled to the brim with confident but still feminine girls whom are bursting at the seams with creativity and ingenuity. Both are worthy sister schools to noble Spica in her mind.
~History~
History before Astraea Hill: Extremely specific details about the early years of pre-Spica are hard for Tori to come by on account of her not being in the loop, as it were. Some basic information slipped through the protective screen her father threw up around her as she grew up. While she's aware that her mother and father separated not just from marriage but also by sheer physical distance. Mother returned to Japan, supposedly while pregnant with a sibling whom the incredibly young Tori had never gotten to meet. Through the years she became aware that she did in fact have a little sister somewhere in Japan, but that was about as far as the knowledge went. Things were tight financially for her single father for a while as she grew up in London learning English and to a lesser extent Japanese. During these formative years she picked up the local Cockney accent and slang to boot, whilst she learned Japanese from very formal sounding audio learning aides and her father's rusty and sparse Japanese. At some point her dad found a new woman, a nice enough lady with whom he set out to seek his fortune and elevate their status in society.
By means still not known to Tori, the family actually struck it rich enough to move on up to a considerably higher standard of living. The important part for Tori was that suddenly she had all sorts of access to things that before were simply unattainable. Yet neither she nor her father were quite sure how upper class sorts were supposed to act, so instead she just reached out for anything that she thought might make her happy. Eventually this led to the Millers deciding it was best to send their daughter abroad for an education at a proper private school. One renown for forming girls into independent young ladies: St. Spica's Girls' Institute.

Sample Post: There were so very many things available to a girl on Astraea Hill to pursue it was difficult to know where even to begin. Surely there was no shortage of athletic clubs open to a budding Englishwoman which would benefit both her feminine nature and her independence. The problem would not be whether they were, in fact, open to her joining but rather if they were suitable for someone of Victoria Miller's demeanor. There were a few that seemed likely choices for the blonde half-British student with an aristocratic streak in her. Equestirian sports were tailor made for such a girl, providing ample opportunity to grow into a refined young woman, riding upright in the saddle so that the masses might gaze upon her in awe and affection. True enough she had joined that club with her horse Inevitable Come From Behind Victory, but that wasn't enough. She simply had to have more in her life, as if there was something else missing from her days as a Spica schoolgirl.
Which is how she ended up on the ice at the skating rink Spica had built to accommodate certain winter sports. Wearing numerous pads under a bulky shirt whilst skating around with a stick in her hands, waiting for the puck to return to her section of the ice. Yes, Tori was there for ice hockey! Despite how undignified it might appear to outsiders there was a certain grace and finesse required to play the game well. She couldn't deny there was also a particularly satisfying sensation when she was able to make a big hit on defense as well. Today she had made a friendly wager with the reserve goalkeeper: if Tori could score a goal during their practice power play, she'd get to kiss that goalkeeper. The puck dropped to the ice, shot out from the two girls fighting for control and right to Tori. Too good of an opportunity to pass up she slapped it hard into the corner of the net.. or would have, had it not clanked off the crossbar. Shrugging it off she winked at the cute reserve goalie and skated back to the starting position.
"Three more chances to score," Tori thought aloud, then smiled confidently.
