Is your character on the Student Council? No.
What does your character think of the student council president, Himiko Miyamae?
What does she do, Miwa wonders? Surely the school has staff... older staff, to take care of things? She doesn't really understand what sort of things a student council president would do, but whatever it is, she's sure Himiko must be doing it right.
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Miwa's personality is somewhat hard to describe, since she expresses very little positive emotion by which to judge what kind of personality she might have. Most of the time she seems down, but not upset, more like empty or melancholy. She has a dead, spaced out look in her large blue eyes, making it clearly obvious to outsiders that she's very distanced from the world, almost as if she's not there. "The light are on, but no one's home" so to speak. She can almost always be found with her headphones on over her spiky hair, listening to music to further aid in drowning out the world. The only time Miwa may seem content is either when she's sleeping, or when in the company of her dear horse Nightlight. Nightlight isn't just for riding or competitive sporting events, no, he's always been a pet and a very special companion to her. On the inside Miwa is calculative and deep thinking, the emotions she doesn't show on the exterior boiling inside of her, growing and morphing. So understands people and their actions and subsequent emotions on a different level to most, and if she were older one might perhaps label her a sociopath. She has a habit of trying to determine a persons motives and feelings before even talking to them, liking to get a measure of someone before communicating with them. Mostly though this intelligence goes to complete waste, because Miwa is the exact definition of "lazy" and sleeps the day away whenever possible. Perhaps then, that's why she always seems so spaced out and drowsy, because she's almost always in a "just woke up" state. There have been many different opinions as to why Miwa is always so sleepy; some theories include that she's depressed and finds it easier to sleep than face the world, or the possibility of chronic fatigue was even considered. No conclusion was ever drawn however, but Miwa thinks it might be a little of both. She wouldn't call herself 'depressed' per say, and sometimes the tiredness really does overpower her. The few times you catch her awake, she'll greet you with passive sarcasm, or simply won't say anything at all.
What does you character think of the Etoile position as a whole?
It's a popularity contest isn't it? A popularity contest under the façade of love. But then again, she could see why people would be drawn to the idea of it.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday?
Perhaps, maybe? She really doesn't think about it too much. It's not something she particularly aspires to achieve, but would still gladly take part in it if asked.
What does your character think of Kagami Hiruko and Maiko Suzumi, the current etoiles?
An etoile couple from two different schools? Miator and Spica no less. Well now she's really confused. Isn't there supposed to be some kind of rivalry between those two? Maybe they were hoping to end the rivalry? That's kind of noble, she thinks, and she might even admire them for it. Secretly she thinks the titles are a little mixed up though; Maiko seems more like the uke type, but she could be wrong.
What does your character think of the other schools?
Overall she's indifferent to the other schools and what happens in them. In fact she's a little confused about why they're three separate schools, and don't just merge into one bigger school. Why does Spica concern itself with Miator so much? And where does Lulim even fit into the equation?
~History~
History before Astraea Hill:
Miwa grew up with her three sisters, two brothers, her parents and her grandmother on the rural outskirts of Japan. Even at a young age, Miwa showed a maturity beyond her years, always distanced and aloof from the petty squabbles of her siblings and her family. Her family were somewhat radical, big believers in hopes and dreams, and most importantly having fun and following your heart. Every day was about being 'positive' and 'self growth', which was something little Miwa could never quite get the hang of. So it's safe to say that Miwa and her sleepy seriousness never really fitted in with the rest of their lively bunch. To this day she still seems to show that same maturity that she showed as a child, however now it only further accents the appearance of being shut off from the rest of the world. Sleeping became a habit at first, when she wanted to avoid some kind of crazy family activity. Yet over time the habit became something she regularly needed, growing tired far more quickly that the average person her age. Her parents could tell that she simply was not happy at home, with the loud vibrancy of their big family, but still they wanted the best for her. So after a lot of thought, they had a chat with Miwa on one of the rare occasions they managed to catch her awake, and asked if she would like to go to one of the Astraea School's, hoping she might be happier there in a more formal environment. Miwa of course picked to go to St Spica, since it was the only one of the schools that would allow her bring along her beloved horse Nightlight. She knows her family are sad to see her go, and feels mildly guilty that she couldn't fit in with them, wonders if there's something 'wrong' with her. Still, she's appreciative that her parents were willing to let her do this, and hopes she can fit in better here than she ever did at home.

stranger in the waking world "Miwa-chan, get up! We'll be late for class!" The raven haired child groaned loudly, right arms flailing out to one side in the direction of her room mate, in the hopes of shoving her away. She must have missed, because the other girl carried on persistently calling her. Miwa turned to last resorts, and grabbed on of the pillows from under her head, tossing it in the other direction. There was a satisfying 'oomph!' sound as the pillow obviously hit it's intended target, followed by a huff. Next thing she new, that same pillow came flying back in her direction, colliding with a nest of messy black spikes. Miwa simple grunted, didn't even bother to remove the pillow from the top of her head, and rolled over with every intention of trying to recapture the dream she'd been having. Besides, the bed was soft and comfortable beneath her. Why would she willingly leave that comfort to go and sit in an uncomfortable school chair? She was certain that by now, the teachers were used to her habits. There wasn't much else they could do about it, short of expelling her. And if they tried that she would claim that her sleeping habits were due to health reasons, and they couldn't discriminate her for it. Now if only she could go back to sleep... "Ugh. Sleeping. Go awaaaaaay!" "Oh fine! But I'm not covering up for you again!" The words came in the sharp, grumpy tone of her room mate, whom honestly she'd assumed had already left. The slamming of the door that came approximately 15 seconds later confirmed her departure. Only then did the first year reach up and retrieve the poor abused pillow from atop her head, returning it to where it had been. There now, that was much better. She could practically feel herself drifting on that borderline between asleep and awake. Somewhat subconsciously, she pulled the covers over her shoulders, and gave a half-asleep sigh of contentment as she snuggled into the bed covers. No less than a few minutes later, a soft snoring filled the dorm room, and Miwa was sound asleep as per usual. *** She jolted awake with a start, eyes foggy and head clouded as she blinked her way back to the land of the living. At first Miwa was unsure what exactly had woken her up, and then she realised that the alarm on her cell phone was going off. She grabbed the device grumpily, and without even glancing at the flashing screen, switched it off before tossing it unceremoniously to the floor. Minutes passed in silence, and then just as the first year was starting to doze off again, she realised what the alarm was for: she had to feed Nightlight! With a sudden renewed energy, Miwa flung herself out of bed and out of the door. Only when she got outside did the absence of shoes occur to her, and at top speed she dashed back the her dorm and slid her feet into fluffy blue slippers. They would do for now, and hey, at least they matched her toothpaste-esque pyjamas! By the time she made it to the stables she was extremely out of breath, one hand clutched over her chest as she heaved loudly. The pecheron seemed to sense her presence almost instantly, a soft whinnying from one of the stable compartments filling the area. When she was at last able to breath, a soft chuckle escaped the sleep-ridden girl as she approached her friend, patting his neck affectionately in greeting. Nightlight gave a contented snort, leaning into the touch of his owner, but clearly impatient for his snack. "Alright, alright. Here ya' go buddy. Sorry I slept in again. I guess you're used to that by now huh pal? Haha, yeah that's what I thought..." | ► 638 WORDS |
