I'm now looking for a global moderator, post here if you're interested.
Job duties include:
The most important thing is to know the rules inside and out so you can see if someone is breaking them. As for everything else a mod is responsible for, have a look:
1. Looking over character profiles.
When a new person joins, I look to see if they have the password (ai ichigo), a good size sample post, something better than "dont know or dont care" under the "view of etoiles" section, a sufficient avatar, and at least 200 words personality and 150 word history. As well as a lengthy sample post. if they post something really short, encourage them to add to it.
If they don't have these things done, direct them to do so. :3
2. Site cleanup-old posts
Once every two months, on or near season change, it would be helpful if threads older than two months got moved to the inactive threads board. Make sure to click "no" in the drop down menu when it asks if you want to leave a note saying you moved the thread.
3. Site cleanup-inactive users
Once every two months, on or near season change, it would be helpful to look for members who have not posted in over 3 months and move their character's profile to the inactive board, click no in the drop down menu that asks if you want to leave a message saying you moved the thread. When you do this message me so I can change the number of students for their school.
4. Nit-picking
This is a duty that I tend to neglect. Its going through and making sure people remember to rate their threads as 1p, 2p or 3+p (or any combination of the three) on every single thread, and that everyone in that thread participates with the correct word count in their posts> by that I mean making sure no one is making 30 words posts anywhere or writing anything really super ridiculously short.
Also checking to make sure there is no powerplay or godmodding on site, and if there is, interrupt the thread pointing out the problem and ask that it either be modified to eliminate the powerplay, or include a note stating the other person approved the powerplay in the post so we (the staff) don't freak out, along with a note saying the message that interrupted the thread would be removed as soon as the powerplay or godmodding was fixed.
5. Chat watch
Make sure no one in chat cusses or acts mean or starts fights or is basically making people uncomfortable or breaking any of the rules.
