Crouton cracker chips!
Came up with this by experimenting and trying to make a cheap crunchy snack. Turned out really good!
Ingredients:
2/3 cup bisquick or similar product 2 1/2 tbsp butter 1 egg 1/2 tbsp salt Added seasonings for flavor (examples: more salt, pepper, garlic, parmesan cheese, popcorn seasoning...whatever flavor you want as long as it's a dry powder)
You'll be cooking this on a lightly greased frying pan or flat top.
Directions!
1. Mix the bisquick, butter and egg together in a small bowl with a fork and then spread a thin, but still opaque layer of mix onto the cooking surface and cook on low heat until golden brown or until edges turn up, then flip.
2. While the opposite side is cooking, lightly appear or sprinkle this side with water and add your flavoring. The water just makes the seasoning stick to your snack. When the other side things golden brown, flip and repeat with the water and seasoning. NOTE: just sprinkle or lightly spray with water, too much water will Ruin the snack! Do not pour water into the pan or dip pieces in water!!
3. Break up the mixture "pancake" as desired, I chose tho make little sticks, but you can break it however you want. Don't over break or you'll just have crumbs!
4. Cook until completely crispy and golden brown.
5. Remove from heat and cool completely before storing in a sealed bag or container.
Great on salads, with soup or by themselves! Enjoy!
