With the introduction given by Yukari, Coyote nodded her head and adopted a friendly grin. She was the more than happy to make the newcomer feel as welcome as possible. After all; this was essentially how she joined Yukari in the kitchen, as well.
Hikari's guess at Coyote's response was more than accurate. The Canadian gave another, this time eager, nod of her head, "Yeah!" She said, "Anyone who knows more about baking than me is gonna be a big hand!"
It was a joke, but there was some truth to her remark, which she punctuated with a chuckle. And, as Yukari had put it, the more the merrier. What started as a quick mission had suddenly gotten sidetracked into an impromptu baking lesson. Still, Coyote was having fun and that was the important thing.

Smiling, Kiyoko thanked the two girls and made her way into the kitchen. "Actually, this is my first time at Lulim," she said. "I'm only a first year, and I'm in Miator. I was really afraid I'd end up getting lost on the way over here!" She giggled softly before remembering why she was here.
"Oh, I got off topic! Sorry about that! So, um, what should I do, Yukari-san?" Setting her present down on a back corner of the counter, she moved to the sink to wash her hands. "I'll do whatever you need me to do. Especially taste testing," she giggled. After drying her hands, she bowed before the two girls. "Also, thank you for allowing me the chance to work in the kitchen!" Smiling, she added "And your ears and tail are really cute, Yukari-chan."

Yukari smiled happily as Coyote voiced her approval. She knew the other girl wouldn't mind. After all, she seemed almost as friendly as Yukari herself. She listened intently as the newest edition to the kitchen began to speak again. "Actually, this is my first time at Lulim. I'm only a first year, and I'm in Miator. I was really afraid I'd end up getting lost on the way over here!" "Oh really? I'm a first year too!" She giggled softly. "I'm glad you didn't get lost. And I'm super glad you and Coyote-san showed up. I really appreciate your help, nya!" With a grateful grin, she walked over to one of the cabinets and pulled out a bucket filled with various supplies. As she carried it back to the table, Kiyoko continued her speech. "Oh, I got off topic! Sorry about that! So, um, what should I do, Yukari-san? I'll do whatever you need me to do. Especially taste testing. Also, thank you for allowing me the chance to work in the kitchen! And your ears and tail are really cute, Yukari-chan."She blushed a little, giving the girl a sheepish 'thank you' for the compliment about her ears and tail. Most people usually thought they were weird, so hearing someone say they were cute was a welcome change. "You don't have to thank us, Kiyoko-san. You're more than welcome here. And, Coyote-san and I were going to start decorating the gingerbread houses so... If you'd like, you can help us with that." She said thoughtfully, pondering what else there might be to do as she set the bucket down on the table. "We've also got a whole bunch of cookies and brownies that need tasting." She said, pointing to the table of goodies as she laid out the decorating supplies. "So both of you, feel free to help yourselves!"

Christmas was a time for gift giving and letting people close to you that you cared about them. At least that was how Maiko interpreted it. When the proposal of Miator offering gift wrapping and a secret Santa for the Christmas Eve celebration, the blue haired fourth year had gotten into the thick of things. She really wanted to help make sure everyone would have something special to talk about after things were all said and done. A great way to do that was to volunteer her services as something of a coordinator for the secret Santa portion of Miator's efforts.
As a result she sat at a table which had been decorated by a lovely green velvet table runner. Behind it were many rolls of wrapping paper, all ready to be used for other girls' gifts. Prepared gifts were also readied and stowed away underneath the table, in case anyone forgot to buy a gift. Maiko herself sat smiling and ready to assist anyone who walked up. In a separate box next to her feet waited several presents, ones she'd bought for several friends. Given the somewhat casual nature of the occasion Maiko had chosen to wear the pink skirt and white top purchased on the trip where she'd met Atsuko. Her hair was braided and rested over her left shoulder, with a Santa hat resting atop her head.
"Well, I certainly hope the girls like what I got them," she thought aloud, glancing down at the gifts she hoped to distribute personally at some point.

Christmas Eve... The one day Yoru had always looked forward to as a child. It was the only time her home had been peaceful. No fighting. No arguments. No violence. Just love. But those days were gone. She was here now, and that was that. She wasn't expecting much, though deep in her heart, she still held hope that Christmas at Astraea Hill would bring back the peaceful love she missed so much. As she wandered the Miator campus, she couldn't help but notice how festive everything looked. The decorations were beautifully done, so much so that even Saint Nicholas would be proud. Students dressed in holiday-themed outfits, many complete with red Santa hats, were bustling about, wrapping and delivering gifts. With her signature black scorpion hoodie and red plaid skinny jeans, Yoru felt a bit out of place (although, thanks to her cousin Yukiko's irritatingly consistent urging, she was also sporting a red Santa hat). Cradled in her arms was a fairly large transparent box with a glittery red and gold ribbon tied around it. Inside was a beautiful ball-jointed doll, made in the likeness of her dear cousin. A homemade gift, yes, but it was the only thing she could think of. She had never been very good with this sort of thing. Still, she hoped Yukiko would appreciate her hard work. She contemplated going over to Spica to give it to her, but figured it would be best to wait as she knew the other girl was probably spending time with her new girlfriend. With nothing left to do but wait, the boyish redhead walked to the nearest empty space (one of the walls near a wrapping table). Setting the gift down beside her, she slid down to the floor, resting her back against the wall. She pulled out her sketchbook (which she always carried with her) and began to quietly sketch the scenery, looking up only to casually glance at the clock every once in a while. Part of her wondered if she should be helping her fellow students in organizing the event, but she wasn't about to go ask them. If someone wanted her assistance, they'd ask for it. Until then, she would continue to work on her art until it was time to meet Yukiko.

"Oh, you go to Miator?" she said to Kiyoko, "I got a friend over there! I'm a second year, at Spica, myself."
Coyote was inclined to agree with the newcomer from Miator. Yukari did have a few cute accessories on. And those little "Nya"s she had the tendency to punctuate a few of her sentences with only added to it. She chuckled a little at Yukari's sheepish acknowledgement of the compliment and Coyote loaded the trays she had been carrying into the oven.
Now it was time to start decorating the gingerbread house. In addition to give a "proper" taste test to the baked goods that were already prepared. That was another activity Coyote could say she was looking forward to, as well.
As she rejoined the other two, she grabbed herself a cookie and one for both of the first years. "Here! Let's get started, then!" she grinned and took a bite of the cookie she had grabbed for herself. It was very good, as a matter of fact, "Wow! Good job, Yukari!"
She looked at the pieces of the house and the decorations that Yukari had gathered. It seemed a little daunting at first, especially with all the pieces laid out. But, between the three of them, she figured it wouldn't be all that bad.

Brigitte grinned as she pressed her knight down onto it's new space, trying to ignore the crestfallen expression of her opponent, an unremarkable second-year who had decided to take up the chess challenge against Brigitte. "Checkmate," she said with a smile. "Aw, don't feel bad, you've just got to keep practicing. I bet you'll be able to beat anyone soon." This perked the girl up considerably and she balled up her fists in determination, exclaiming something about how next time she'd beat everyone blindfolded. Brigitte felt her sense of pride inflate at this - she was always proud to inspire the next generation of Spicans, after all - and proceeded to clean up the board, putting the chess pieces back in order for the next pair to play. In truth, for once she wasn't completely interested in creaming everyone in the board games, as much as she enjoyed showing off how amazing she was. She had a large bag at her side, crossing over her chest and decorated in Christmas colours. She hoped nobody would look in. It was supposed to have been a surprise for those whom the items inside would belong to, and she'd already given out most of them - mostly to fellow soccer team members - but one person in particular was evading her, as usual. She supposed she could understand why, the sports seasons were in full effect and the Christmas break offered a short lull, though she found herself rather unlucky in locating her. With a stretch she stood, waving to some other girls as she headed out of the games area, walking at a brisk pace though she didn't quite know where she was going, though she eventually found herself in the Lulim wing, marvelling at the creations these girls were coming up with. She passed the kitchen on her way to the next dorm, partially out of curiosity as to what the Miator girls were doing and partially to poke fun at the elf outfits she'd heard of when she stopped and took a double take. Well, there was who she'd been searching for. Coyote-hymn seemed to be occupied with two other girls and cookies - Brigitte realised her mouth was watering, she hadn't had anything to eat since leaving the gymnasium earlier but shook the thought out of her mind - and this posed a problem. She backed up against the wall on one side of the doorway where she wouldn't be seen, tapping her chin. With a quick nod - why was she deliberating on this anyway? It was just a gift - she moved over into the line of sight of the girls, should they look over to the door, and knocked on the door-frame to politely announce her presence. "Er, hello," Brigitte said in her distinct accent. "Sorry for intruding! I was looking for you, Coyote-chan. Do you have a moment? I have something for you." Word Count: 473 OOC: Ooooo what could it be?

It was nice that Coyote had a friend at Miator. Although.... "Well, this is a bit embaressing to say," Kiyoko answered. "But I don't actually know anyone at Miator, myself." She blushed, laughing a little. "I'm pretty shy, so..." She let her sentence trail off, smiling sheepishly.
As Coyote handed her the cookie, the pink haired girl's eyes lit up in excitement. "Ooh! Thanks, Coyote-oneesan!" She bit into the sweet, and hummed in appreciation. "It's delicious, Yukari-chan!" Kiyoko could most certaintly agree with the older girl that the cookies were tasty. Yukari had definitley done an awesome job.
Turning to the unassembled gingerbread house, she stared at it, trying to assess it's pieces. "It looks pretty complicated," she started. "But I think these are-"
The small girl was interrupted by a knoch at the door. Turning, she saw a girl about Coyote's age standing there. Talking in her accent, the stranger seemed interesting the small girl, and she leaned over, trying to get a closer look.

Yukari smiled proudly, blushing a bit as the two girls complimented her cookies. "Arigato, Coyote-san! Kiyoko-san! I'm really glad you like them, nya!" She giggled, picking up a piece of the gingerbread house in front of her. Just as she was about to start working, another girl appeared in the doorway. It seemed she was here looking for Coyote-san. "You're not intruding, don't worry. Welcome!" She said, giving the girl a friendly wave. As the stranger moved to speak to Coyote, the pinkette smiled warmly, deciding it best to leave them be. 'Coyote-san's lucky to have such a nice friend...' She thought, smiling at the two as they exchanged words. She looked over at Kiyoko, who was watching the two curiously. Giggling softly, she began putting the gingerbread house together, letting her own mind wander as the girls conversed. She remembered Kiyoko saying something about not knowing any girls from Miator, which reminded her of her own Miator friend. A certain boyish redhead she had met while wandering the campus one day... "Hmm... Maybe I should head over to Miator after this... I bet Yoru-kun would love some cookies!" She murmured, not fully aware that she was speaking aloud. When the gingerbread house was finally assembled, she carefully began the icing details. It was an activity she found fun, yet somewhat relaxing. She hoped that when the other girls started, they'd feel the same.

It was nice to be able to share the cookies. Even better when they were as tasty as they were. Well, that had little to do with Coyote. Not even the next batch had much involvement on her end. Aside from just being the one who popped them into the oven.
"Well, you're a first year." she said to the shy Miator, "So I'm sure you'll be able to make some friends at Miator! You already have some at Spica and LeRim, now, so that's a great start!"
She grinned with her encouragement to the pink haired girl. Before they could get started on the gingerbread house, another person entered the kitchen. A person with a very familiar voice. Coyote turned to the latest addition and found a fellow Spica. One that she had not seen a great deal of, lately.
"Brigette?" she said, grinning through her disbelief, "Hi!!"
"Come in!" she grabbed another cookie and rushed over to the other girl, presenting the baked good (that she didn't make) to her fellow athlete, "Guys! This is Brigette, she goes to Spica, too! Brigitte, this is Kiyoko and Yukari!"
In her excitement, Coyote almost forgot that the older girl's appearance came with a purpose. Well, it seemed that there was a more direct goal than Coyote's own directionless quest to pick up goodies for her friends. This was actually a bit earlier than she would have liked to run into people that she knew...seeing as how she was without any gifts of her own to return.
"Ah...you have something?" she quirked an eyebrow, wondering what, indeed, this mysterious thing was.

Brigitte peered about at the other girls curiously. Two first years seemed to be Coyote's compatriots, and they were baking cookies. Well, at least she didn't seem to be intruding on too much.
"Nice to meet you, Kiyoko-chan and Yukari-chan," Brigitte grinned at Coyote's introductions of her compatriots. "I'm Brigitte, from the Spica soccer team."
Maybe it was redundant to say her name twice, but she didn't particularly care. This was, potentially, the next generation of fans filling the benches to watch the games. At the offering of the baked good she smiled and accepted it.
"Ah, did you all bake these? It smells delicious!" She took a bite of the offered cookie, stopping for a moment and then swallowing. "Oh wow, it -is- delicious. I don't think even my aunt could have done better."
She offered a wide grin to all of them as she finished the cookie and then reached into her bag, drawing out a wrapped package that seemed floppy, the type that held some sort of clothing. The package was decorated in a lovely white wrapping paper with blue snowflakes and multi-coloured reindeer all over it, with a little tag offering greetings.
It had taken her quite a while to hunt this down, a jersey from the Montreal Hockey team, going only off a symbol she'd seen in Coyote's presence at one point. She'd figured that Coyote already had one, but Brigitte had multiple shirts of her favourite Soccer team, so if Coyote was anything like her, it wouldn't be much of a problem.
"Most of my friends got their gifts already, but I've been having a hard time tracking you down. So here, this is for you." She grinned widely at Coyote. "I think you'll like it... I hope I got it right."
After a second thought, Brigitte reached into her bag once more and drew out a card. "Oh, and I also have a card, here you are. Almost forgot. Happy Christmas!"

Business was kind of slow so far, since things were just getting underway. Maiko felt tempted to get up and see what the other schools were doing for their activities, but restrained herself. So far there weren't any other girls around to take over for her. Being in charge of her station she didn't want to just up and leave. It also meant that she didn't have anyone to talk to until someone else was on shift with her.
Then she noticed a boyish redhead sitting down against the wall, attention focused on drawing. Maiko's curiosity was piqued at noticing the sketchbook. She'd never met the girl before, and found herself curious about her. Doing her best to remain polite and not intrude too much on the girl's personal space, Maiko turned to face her.
"Hello there.. can I ask what you're drawing?" she asked politely, "I've always envied artists who can draw, it's so amazing what they're capable of. I'm really terrible myself."

Yoru sat quietly, her pencil gliding softly across the page as she drew. The colorful decorations, piles of wrapping paper and gifts, the smiling faces of the students, and a lovely Christmas tree to top it all off... Part of the reason she loved drawing so much was that it always seemed to bring about a feeling of peace and tranquility, no matter what was going on in the surrounding area. Her mind was so focused on the piece in front of her, in fact, that she almost didn't notice the girl beside her turn to speak to her. "Hello there.. can I ask what you're drawing? I've always envied artists who can draw, it's so amazing what they're capable of. I'm really terrible myself."The sudden voice snapped the redhead from her self-induced trance. Blinking in surprise, she turned her gaze to the source of the sound. It was a Miator student with long blue hair fastened into a braid, a Santa hat that matched the one Yukiko had forced upon her, and curiosity evident in her eyes. After taking a moment to observe the girl, Yoru spoke cautiously. "It's nothing special, really... I just thought I'd make a quick sketch of the scenery in here. The decorations are beautiful." Her boyish voice nearly made her cringe, a light blush tinting her porcelain cheeks as she spoke. She tilted her sketchbook slightly to give the other girl a better view. "And I'm sure your art is just as beautiful. The greatest artists are oftentimes the ones who doubt themselves the most. And besides, all art is beautiful if it comes from the heart." Her seemingly cold expression did not change, though the sincerity of her words shone through. Part of her wondered if maybe she should at least make an attempt to appear friendly. After all, it wasn't every day that someone approached her like this. It wasn't every day that someone actually wanted to talk to her. Now of course, it wasn't that Yoru disliked people. She simply...distrusted them. Still, somewhere deep inside, her heart yearned for company. It took everything she had to give the girl a small smile.

The redhead seated on the floor with a sketchpad was an intriguing person. She bore an emotionless expression as she spoke that should have denoted dispassion or disinterest in the question asked of them. Yet she also spoke sincerely about art in an almost poetic manner. Her voice was a little masculine sounding, but seemed to suit her appearance. None of this made Maiko certain what kind of person the girl was, other than a certainty that she was probably a good person of some kind. Nobody who liked art that much could be bad. As she'd been doing a lot lately, she decided to try and get to know the girl better.
Seeing the little smile the redhead offered, Maiko smiled back and replied, "I'm afraid my drawing is beyond saving. Sometimes it's difficult to manage even a stick figure, let alone anything that resembles a person, place or thing. But you're really talented! It looks like you're capturing the happy essence of our Christmas Eve events with great accuracy."
She paused for a moment before adding, "I suppose I should introduce myself, shouldn't I? My name is Suzumi Maiko, fourth year at St. Miator. Can I ask your name?"

"I'm afraid my drawing is beyond saving. Sometimes it's difficult to manage even a stick figure, let alone anything that resembles a person, place or thing. But you're really talented! It looks like you're capturing the happy essence of our Christmas Eve events with great accuracy.""You're so modest... You sound like Yukiko-chan..." She couldn't help but let a little chuckle slip out, not fully realizing she had mentioned her cousin's name. "Even a stick figure can be beautiful. Simplicity has it's own charm." The redhead blushed a bit at Maiko's last comment, clearly feeling a little flustered. "Arigato... I...um...I'm glad you like it.." She said softly, unsure of her own words. It had been a long time since she'd actually had a conversation with...well...anyone, really. Not only that, but there was something about this girl that made her feel almost...at ease. Almost. For a split second, her auburn orbs flickered with a hint of emotion, but it disappeared as quickly as it had come. "I suppose I should introduce myself, shouldn't I? My name is Suzumi Maiko, fourth year at St. Miator. Can I ask your name?"She looked up at the blue-haired girl, nodding slowly. "Yoru. Kaguya Yoru. I'm also a fourth year at Miator." She responded, a bit more confidence creeping its way into her voice. "It's...uh...really nice to meet you, Suzumi-san." Yoru had never been one for formality, but she felt it would be best to be polite. Yukiko's parents (and Yukiko herself) had been urging her to at least attempt to make some friends, after all. She had promised to try. And Yoru Kaguya never went back on her word.
