Is your character a nurse? No.
What subject does she teach? Creative Writing
~ Appearance ~
Hair color: Black with maybe just a few strands of grey, but dont mention that.

Eye Color: A bright golden yellow, that seem almost like cats eyes.
Height: 5' 9.5"
What does your character usually wear to class? What does she wear outside of class? Outside of classes Akumu wears a simple black top and dark jeans, with a long black military-style coat over the top. During class she is always seen wearing a grey fur lined hooded cloak, though she'll only wear the hood up if she's in a particularly sour mood.
Please describe your character's personality in at least 200 words or more:
Akumu is quiet and secretive, she's cold hearted and cruel, her mood ranging from playful and flirty to a destructive childish tantrum within seconds. This can make her seem very two-faced, and it's true that perhaps she is a little emotionally unstable. To other's she appears 'creepy' and maybe even 'evil', which is exactly what she wants them to think. She's a little too eager to play the 'mean teacher', feeling like she has to play up to the role and act up a little so that she doesn't seem weak or soft.
Akumu may seem nervous and skittish, often jumpy, but only if she's caught on her own. Around others she'll be dark, imposing, intimidating. Well if people are going to fear her, why not give them a reason too? That's her attitude at least. The mostly unseen nervousness is because she’s not used to the school environment, she feels trapped within it. She’s most comfortable during the night, the dark is calming too her, and she finds it much easier to think. So you'll probably find her sat in the school ground in the middle of the night, writing the thriller and horror novels she's been working on.
She’s extremely graceful, quick and light on her feet, and often enjoys dancing. Being a rather artistic introvert, she also likes to play music, reading and of course writing, which is why she teaches it, even though she doubts that any of her students will ever grasp the true beauty of literature. However, Akumu's mind is a very dark place indeed, and one of the reasons why she turns to creative writing is to escape. Her own thoughts and ideas sometimes before too much for her, possessing her with little whispers and weakening her conscience just a little.
Was your character a student at Astraea Hill before becoming a staff member? No.
Please explain your character's history in 150 words or more:
It is said that no one is born evil, they become evil. Evil is a subjective, one-sided view, and often the reasons behind such darkness is ignored. But most people who are labelled as 'evil' often have reasons for being so, tragic happenings in their past which have caused them to shun the light of the world. And for Akumu this couldn't be more true...
Believe it or not, Akumu was once a bright and beloved girl, loyal to her friends and even admired. Though no one would remember this of course, for people often forget the good in favour of the bad. Things started to change for Akumu when she fell pregnant with a child, and though she was still young, at the time she was thrilled. She threw everything she had into preparing herself to be a good mother, and cherished her unborn child above anything else in the world.
Tragedy struck the aspiring mother's life when she least expected it. Sadly Akumu was never to be a mother, for the child, a baby girl, was stillborn. And the harsh reality is, this happens to many a woman before her, many a child denied life. But Akumu did not take this well, as to be expected, and she grieved for a long time at the loss of her daughter whom she had planned to name Sera.
This grieving period did not get better, as Akumu's friends and family had hoped it would. In fact as time went on, Akumu sank further and further into her grief, and some would say it drove her mad. The once bright young woman became very dark, very distant. And where before she'd been loyal and caring, she became cruel and untrustworthy. Far from being supportive, her relatives shunned her, fearing the person she'd become.
Akumu travelled alone for a long time after that, and it was by coincidence that she'd stumbled upon Astraea Hill. She quickly became intrigued by the schools, and began to imagine what it would have been like if her daughter had grown up and had attended one of them... Akumu's mind never liked imaginary things to stay that way for long though, and so the idea formed a new hope in her. If her daughter didn't get the chance to learn, at least Akumu could help to teach and nurture the minds of the young girls here.
History Before Astraea Hill:
Akumu's past a bit of a mystery to both students and teachers alike. No one knows anything of her family, or where she comes from. Though according to rumours there may be a select few who knew her before she started teaching at the school. However what the history is, no one is truly certain, and Akumu keeps it that way. Of course people fear the unknown, and since she’s such an anomaly in the school, students tend to avoid her where possible. Akumu doesn't talk about her history. At all. Ever. In fact her life is very much, just as she is, kept in the shadows. A secret. So none of the students, or even any of the other teachers will know anything about her when she arrives at Astraea.
Life as a student at Astraea: N/A

"Hey, you there! Excuse me miss?"
The dark haired woman turned around slowly at the sound, not recognising the voice, and in fact not even having heard anyone walk up to her. Her expression was distant, almost empty, looking but not truly seeing. Her usually glowing yellow-gold eyes seemed vacant and lifeless, but as she finally realised that someone was standing before her, they refocused, to finally see the person.
A young woman, most likely a student, stood a few feet away from her. The girl had a single hand outstretched as they called, and it was as if she wanted to come closer, but for some reason she was wary to do so. As Akumu studied her, a strange sensation began to creep over her, an aching nostalgia. the feeling was so odd, and yet, she felt as if she knew this young lady….
It happened too fast. In a split second, pale gold eyes widened in both realisation and terror, a ragged gasp escaping the womans throat in a wheeze. She remembered… not quite clearly enough, but also too clearly than she was comfortable with at the same time. There where whispered voices at her ear, dark and taunting, and the little girl calling out to her…
Akumu clutched her head, shaking slightly, whispers of “no" leaving her lips here and there, accenting the air in the otherwise silent area. It was too soon, far too soon. The memories were still too fresh, and too painful. Since losing her precious baby, Akumu had been a victim to her own nightmares, and naturally they had wasted no time in making her relive the memories.
"Ser-…." no. She couldn’t bring herself to say the name. This was surely just another nightmare, another trick? And it was... as Akumu shook herself out of the trance like state she'd been in, she looked back at the student. It was not, and never would be, her baby girl. Instead a terrified first year stood before her, eyes wide with fear, mostly likely at what she had just witnessed. Akumu sighed and ran a hand through her messy black hair as the girl ran off... "I should have known."
