What does your character usually wear to class? What does she wear outside of class? To class, Alarice likes to keep it professional- She wears her school's colors in the form on various outfits that vary daily. They range from blouses with skirts and stockings to full suit coats depending on the temperature, and also based on the season. She never overdresses, but she does tend to make sure people can pick her out as an official when need be.
Except off campus... Where her wardrobe changes from formal and proper to a mix of her secret love for cosplay and her very American wardrobe. She has a lot of clothing that seems more fit for clubs and bars than anything else.
Please describe your character's personality in at least 200 words or more:
Alarice tends to be very disciplined and as such comes off as cold. Her students call her strict but fair, and her co-workers labeled her as a "weird mix of snobby and friendly" for lack of better terms to use. She tends to be blunt and upfront in most matters (except romance) and yet despite this, she can manage to soften the blow of bad news with the right word choice- Which she also carefully thinks about. As she is very calm and collected, she tends to think of everything before she says it. This pretty much leads to her having an air of snobbish "I'm always right" type answers. Yet, those answers come with the right tone and words to not anger people who really listen to them.
This carries to on and off campus, although if you manage to make it into her home or personal space at all, you'll find that she has a slight quirk when talking specifically about gaming. It's a topic she could ramble on for hours. However, only her close friends see that aspect of her. What her students and co-workers might see, however, is a very obvious love of war. She researches it as a hobby, plays a lot of Chess/Stratego, and has a very sophisticated way of speaking. Rather than casually saying "Are you okay?" she will ask "Faring well?" and that is one small example. There's not much to be said about fears or anything of the sort, as the ones she does have, she keeps very well hidden behind this semi-emotionless mask.
She can be noted as having a love for snakes as well.
Was your character a student at Astraea Hill before becoming a staff member? No.
Please explain your character's history in 150 words or more:
History Before Astraea Hill:
Alarice grew up in America, but she was born in London. Her parents moved to California when she was still young, but just old enough to have developed her English accent. Despite the move, she never really lost it. Her life in California was different at best- Her mother made her attend an all women's school due to some kind of worry, and she studied there until her graduation from Middle School. There, she quickly became a Mathematics and History fanatic, as well as she met a friend who turned her on to gaming and anime.
What she expected to be a simple hobby eventually turned into her favorite pasttime- She frequents conventions to this day. Most noteworthy, she cosplayed at Comic Con in San Diego until she began college- Her flagship cosplay being Lyndis from her favorite game, Fire Emblem. She concealed this hobby from her schoolwork until college strictly because she had her parents to help pay for the conventions and her schooling- When she hit 18, they stopped paying for her entirely. She could still live with them, but they would not pay anything for her.
That was okay- She had gotten herself a part-time job taking care of the animals at a local pet store. She grew fond of one of the snakes, and eventually bought it- One of those large yellow snakes that could constrict you easily. She calls it adorable and sees nothing weird about it. This job and her schooling all helped her to achieve her dream- Becoming a teacher in Japan. Her strange love for war was useful in history lessons, and her degree shows her clear prowess in the field. So, with her pet snake and her degree, she applied for Astraea Hill.
Life as a student at Astraea: None.
Years since she became a member of the school staff:
Sample post:
"Well met to you, class." came the voice of the Sensei, her back turned to them to write on the board. There was a few whispers as to the identity of the woman before them- her hair cleanly pulled back and braided gave so many different shades of blue off based on the lighting it was under that there were also whispers of her actual hair color as well.
"You may call me Truesdale Sensei." she snuck in, continuing to write and draw as needed. This would end up taking up the majority of the board, and it was entirely in English.
"I welcome you to our studies into the foundation of society- The civilizations before us that established what we know. The Mayans, the Romans, and all who fall between and before them."
Finally, her work was done. She turned to address the class, and doing so her hair danced behind her into the various shades corresponding with the light level of the room.
"We will take this topic in immediately, as time wasted is useless. You are tasked with using your English knowledge to determine who wins this battle," her hand raised to the board's left, and from it fell a small blue flag. Her hand opposite did the same, with a red flag. There was a mountain-or at least it was supposed to be one-outlined where she was standing. On top of the mountain was a single red dot, and on her left was five more red dots. To her right was ten blue dots. There was only one arrow drawn, and it was pointed from the red dot on the top towards the bottom, facing the blue dots.
"Red team or blue team? I trust this is a good beginning to ease you all into the subject- We will take this further when the correct answer is given."
What the class did not know was that this wasn't an official assignment. She simply wanted to test their quick wit. It was clear that the red dot on top of the mountain had a vantage point on everybody on the blue side, even if they outnumbered the reds. This was a basic strategy. As was this quick lesson- misdirection was equally as important as the trap itself after all- and this was a trap.
She was determining who would become the first student she called on when the actual lessons began.
