What kind of clothes does you character wear when she's not in uniform?
Outside of her uniform she can be found wearing somebody else'. Or sometimes she'll wear some incredibly elegant dress. Or perhaps torn up jeans and a tank top. It all depends on her mood and how she most wants to interfere in someone else' life. However there is one constant. When she's on the job, she has a special costume in the back of her closet that she just has to wear. It's the classic Sherlock Holmes costume based on the classic Basil Rathbone interpretation. She's even got a little pipe though she keeps that especially hidden from the nuns.
What Sports/activities is you character involved in?
Martial Arts: Yes
Other? - Theater: Yes
Is your character on the Student Council? No
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
She generally goes around with a smile and is quite happy most all the time. She sometimes gets a little too playful with those around her but always shrugs it off as nothing when it's pointed out even if she really does feel something for the person. Most of the time she flirts for the sake of flirting, making others uncomfortable is something she finds extremely funny and quite useful in case a fight breaks out. Kari believes that people tend to be more honest when off guard. She also tends to sneak around, gathering information on everyone and planning for future meetings. She's perfectly willing to use dirty methods to end a confrontation before it even begins. Her love of Holmes also leads her to model much of herself after him, though to varying degrees of success. While she does try to trust people, she has a small paranoia that everyone is lying to her. This came from the rather constant fear of betrayal that was passed on by her father's paranoia. She ends up constantly planning how to take everyone down, using their own personalities against them.
She can also be a little random, though in reality the random is something she's carefully thought out beforehand for her nefarious purposes. Her experience in theater and acting has given her experience in ad-libbing and improv. She's even gotten fairly good at stitching, though she uses it more for alterations than making new outfits and costumes. She's put a lot of effort into getting uniforms for every other school, even the Miator maid uniform though she doesn't really fit in that one anymore.
What does you character think of the Etoile position as a whole? It's an amusing gimmick for a popularity contest but it's good to see what the public loves. Plus it gives an easy target choice if she ever decides to topple the regime.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday? Never.
What does your character think of Sado Kagami and Kitsuki Sha, the current etoiles?
Sado is a fake, she must be. She hides it well but Kari has seen the spark, the underlying layer. There's no reason to expose her yet but in the future there may be a requirement and she'll be ready. Kitsuki is a forgetful airhead, a ditz with a disability. It's not a good combination for her and would be easy to take advantage of. With the proper planning, one could go in during her naps, remove her hearing aids, and then she would be completely unaware of the world opening it up for any sort of manipulation.
What does your character think of the other schools?
Le Rim is interesting, so many people, so few with plans. She could go in and shake that place up if she really wanted to. As for Miator, she really missed a trick on that one. She spent a lot of time wondering if she could somehow import a maid, or at least someone to get her food and watch out for nuts.
Other: Allergic to nuts
~History~
History before Astraea Hill:
Growing up with a father who was a Colombian drug lord, being born on a plane over the ocean, and having a birthday on the day of fools altered her entire life and pointed her in a strange direction. She was taught the art of misdirection, lying, and subterfuge from a young age. Her father would sometimes use her as a second pair of eyes as soon as she was able to talk. As she grew older she decided she didn't want to follow his path in life, but the damage was done. Nothing seemed interesting to her and she was too young to take on a proper job.
Her biggest goal in life was to become a detective like her hero, Sherlock Holmes. Her father had introduced her to the detective at a young age and taught her that he was the pinnacle of humanity. His powers of deduction, to read lies, histories, experiences, simply with a keen eye was the talent that Kari wanted to obtain for herself and she worked hard to develop it, though she wasn't entirely successful. She wondered if there were jobs she could do that would let her work on her talent further, she looked at many of them but even if she did try for a job in some intelligence agency, her family history would surely get her passed over. So she decided to try to make her own way through life and her first stop was going to an actual school with teachers her father hadn't hired where she could get at least a few notable honors and make a name for herself. From there, maybe she could do something great.
She enrolled herself in St. Spica's Girls Institute after a long search to find a school. St Spica seemed perfect, it was prestigious and many students had gone on to affect or change the world in some way, the same way she wanted to. It was the perfect chance. That was when she was 15 and a fourth year. It was a very productive year for her, she made a few contacts, or friends, and started collecting data. There were so many girls around and they were all so interesting. She hadn't been able to interact much back home since she wasn't allowed out but now she was just throwing herself out there. That was how she learned that she loved showing off and started working around the drama department. She never bothered in any shows but Kari was praised for her mimicry. However outside of the drama class she was not praised. She was a rather poor student. Her grades were passing most of the time but it was a close thing. Science was her worst subject despite her hard work. She just couldn't seem to keep any of the facts in her head which drove her crazy.
First Year: She made a splash in the theater department, taking bit roles and scaring off roommates. She went through three before being left alone. Here she discovered her love of acting and the joy where everyone was obviously lying, rather than trying to be trusted.
Second Year: Her second year saw her in larger productions, as more important roles. Even taking the villain in several plays. She went through only one roommate before spending the rest of her time alone. She also began writing plays at this point.
Third Year: She produces her first play, a theater version of Hound of the Baskervilles. Problems with the live dog lead to her being banned from using animals in school productions. No roommates came to her that year. She also stole several of the spare Holmes costumes for her own personal use.
Fourth Year: She decides to become a playwright and a government agent. Much of her time this year was taking classes she thought would help as well as sending out applications to agencies she thought might be good to work with.
Fifth Year: She spent most of the first half receiving rejection after rejection. She then retreated into her fantasy world where there was still a chance for success. She had a new roommate who she quickly frightened off and was left to write plays in misery and dejection which colored her work. In the second semester, she found herself a new cast of younger girls to play with. Seducing them into the theater lifestyle for a play that she wrote herself. The play was a mild success. She finished up the year early so that she could pursue opportunities to join law agencies however and did so without telling any of her new friends.
Sample Post: The school was bustling, girls were running back and forth to do whatever it was they though was so important, Kari watched them dart by, her eyes following them until another figure caught her attention. That girl had loose socks, probably had been exercising her legs, walking around the campus, that would explain the worn shoes. Another girl, one of her buttons was only half in. She didn't use her mirror. It was afternoon which meant that she'd probably gotten out of some gym class and hadn't checked on her way out. No friends in the locker either, they would have mentioned the button.
Another girl passed by, this one amid a group of five. The ringleader. She was a cute, good looking specimen. She was laughing, joking. The other girls laughed too but one laughed a little quieter. She looked younger, less sure of herself. Kari watched for a sign. There it was. Every time she would start to lag behind the leader would give the underclassman a glance that would force her to catch up. There was something more there. The underclassman was pristine though, not a thread out of place on her uniform. Perhaps she was a clean freak, but Kari was sure that it was to hide something.
"Aha." She muttered, even without her pipe and cap she had caught it. When the dominant one looked back there was a brief hand movement from the underclassman. She would always bring her hand back almost to her upper thigh but stop. Kari didn't think the girl knew she was doing it. Kari stood up and picked up her bag. She had to do some research but then it would be time to ruin somebody's day.
