Name: Rin Minigawa ai ichigo
Age: 20
School Attending: St. Miator Girls' Academy
Subject: Gardening.
Partner: none.
Room: C1 In the convent,
Appearance: A tall slender girl, but she looks very mature. Full breasts, slender legs, pale skin, long dark lashes. She never wears makeup, however does her share of skin upkeep in the washroom. her hands are soft, always manicured, despite her work with soil and plants.
Hair color: Silver
Hair style: Usually down, with a white headband, though she will occasionally pull it back to work. She used to curl it, but now allows it to hang straight.
Eye color: Dark Green
Height: 5 foot 10 inches
Dress: She does don the occasional over sized flannel pajama shirt, comfort in privacy is one of her prized possessions. but our on the campus she tend to wear black, or a a purple and white uniform given to her by the resident nuns as a gift for becoming a teacher. Now, as assistant chancellor she wears a very stylized uniform. It's black and rather somber...fitting for her new disposition.
glasses: Yes, she seems to have developed a need for them and through the kind Sisters, she was supplied with a pair and wears them when reading.
Personality: The former Etoile, Rin Minigawa is a highly respected and much beloved person to most of the other students attending the three schools. She looks very mysterious and also seems to have a number of secrets to match this visage. This makes her a difficult person to figure out or to even talk to for someone just meeting her. Even after all this time. Most of her secrets - and personal problems - seem to be related to her prior relationship with Chibiru Kanoa. Though these have been taken care of, and she finds it easier to get along with others after having come to terms with her feelings about the girl.
She is very skilled on the piano and likes to play it constantly. She loves her new job as gardening teacher, even though she used to avoid all of her duties as Etoile. She is a skilled actress and has participated in Astraea's annual play twice in a row, playing Don Jose in the production of Carmen. She is also noted to excel in French.
Moving on from Chibiru, Rin found a new part of herself. She now questions her feelings for other girls and is less self-conscious about her scars from the incident shortly after Chibiru's death. (see my thread in the inactive threads and characters board "Looking at Rin" for the flashback and a deeper insight into her feelings while she was sill mourning her loss). Instead of remaining a mysterious and sulking girl with too many urges, she's slowly becoming a reserved and quiet woman, who knows and respects the lives and boundaries of others.
As a teacher, she has become a bit depressed. Last year, Rachel never reappeared on campus and must have transferred to teach elsewhere without notice. Rin fears she will never find love again, or when she does, she will lose them to fate as she lost Chibiru and Rachel.
View of the Etoiles: Rin has no idea that Chiyo, the Uke Etoile who took office after she resigned had a crush on her late girlfriend, Chibiru. Even without knowing this, she gave the red Etoile pendant to her because she reminded her of the previous Uke. She finds Chiyo adorable and has a lot of faith in her. Arceia on the other hand, she had respect for, but does not highly relate to her, even though the girl now wears the very Etoile pendant she wore last year. She feels they are both worthy of the title as their love story speech given at the ceremony was more than enough to prove that the strength of their love proves they deserve the title. So she respects and admires them both, perhaps especially Arceia in that she still has her Uke, and Rin has lost hers forever.
Sado and Kitsuki as Etoiles, she finds the two adorable. Kitsuki reminds her of a more innocent Chibiru and Sado reminds her of herself before her precious Chibiru died. She loves to watch them interact but is starting to feel like she is too old to attempt friendship with the new young etoiles, even though she was only 19.
Chokone and Shizuka as Etoiles, When Rin became assistant Miator chancellor she stopped paying much attention to Etoiles. Cho, like most Uke Etoiles, reminds her if her lost Chibiru, and Shizuka seems to be too reserved and distant. Not that Rin is one to judge that any more.
View of other schools: Even as a student, Rin was competitive mostly toward Spicans, and gaining Etoile was a huge kick in the skirt to several of her Spican rivals. Now that she has graduated, and even through her year as Etoile, and the death of Chibiru, the rivalry in her died off as well. Now she is indifferent toward Lerim and Spica, but Miator will always have a special place in her heart.
History: She grew up in an expensive world of etiquette and money. She was also the subject of parents who saw her as more of a show piece than a human girl, she was to be seen, not heard, and the perfect picture of Etiquette and grace. As an only child, she was treated well, however not truly a happy child. At 12, her parents were happy to brag about her acceptance into St. Miator, but as soon as she stepped foot on campus. She was no longer part of their lives. They never wrote, and neither did she. And after graduating, they never requested for her to return home. So, she has assumed her parents have forgotten her, happy to be rid of the burden of having a child. Regardless of her success in earning the greatest honor of the campus, winning Etoile in her sixth year of school, with her beloved.
Her Etoile Partner however, Miss Chibiru Kanoa, died of an illness, but that has been covered up by endless rumors claiming a much more dramatic accident occurred. Hardly any students from the three schools know the truth. So for the year, she acted as Etoile alone...will someone ever fill the gap left in her heart? Yes. While they have yet to make it official, she falls more in love with Rachel every day.
Soon after the loss of Chibiru she met her new room mate Rachel. Rachel's dislike for Rin and the initial rejection made Rin want her more. But it wasn't long before Her repression of Chibiru's memory came crashing down and she missed her more than ever, becoming distant from her roomie.
One day she met Akari, who had a very close resemblance to Chibiru, which intoxicated Rin's bleeding heart. And right after this, during a snowstorm, she met another girl by the name of Chibiru who's resemblance to her dead girlfriend was so remarkable, Rin almost lost it. Luckily, she realized the new Chibiru was not a reincarnation of her departed loved one, and she was able to pull herself together long enough to focus on Rachel and Akari.
Thanks to Akari, she had the strength to move on past Chibiru's memory. However, as her year as Etoile came to a close, she found herself in love with Akari, for saving her from her own memories, and Rachel, her new room mate for being the first girl who didn't want her. She now questions her feelings for Rachel, would she have been just another girl to fill the gap? Or is there something real? With the year over, and Rin suddenly the gardening teacher for Miator, and her Etoile title gone, she now has to sort out her feelings as an adult and successful woman, rather than a sad girl with no family.
Doing so was tough, she met her lost sister Miaka Minigawa who was born without her knowledge. The two are not yet very close, but it feels good to know there is family that cares for her, even if it is only one girl. She still battles depression as she lost both of her loves Rachel and Chibiru to fate. She feels she may be alone forever, however, such morbid and sad thoughts must be placed aside. Rin was taken under the wing of Miator's Chancellor and may be in line to take the seat by the time she is 23.
Sample post: (I'm just going to use the post I mentioned above, it's a wonderful display of my ability..I think lol.)
Cold. The coming storm, bitter wind and approaching darkness all seemed to mirror Rin's current mood. She wasn't one to brood, usually she kept her head well under control. Even out here in the forest near her Green House she wouldn't completely loose it. In fact it wasn't like her to break down and cry, not since that day.
However as she walked, wind whipping her hair with increasing turbulence, she could hardly remember that day or even what had led up to it. It seemed her memory had erased all the specifics, but she knew that it had to do with her. Her name was gone from her mind, her face was just a shadow, but her scent...that sweet flower. Her touch, so warm and timid. It was the memory of love she remembered. So lost was she in though she almost forgot the rain and wind, she could almost smell her vanilla scent, feel her, the sun the- CRACK!
Thunder broke across the sky, spider lightening lacing the crowds with electric intensity. She felt her heart call out like the fury of nature before her, however Rin's demeanor outside was calm. She stopped walking, standing like a pillar among the dark trees. The autumn leaves danced and swirled quickly and violently about her feet, the empty branches scraped together, leaves crunched, the wind howled, and Rin simply sighed. There, straight ahead through the storm, she could see the sun setting. Brilliant pinks and golds heavily framed by the storm that held her and Astraea Hill. It was strangely beautiful yet angry.
She found herself a boulder at the foot of a oak tree and sat down, ignoring the weather. The bark of the tree would surely soil her uniform as she sat back and closed her eyes, but sometimes all that mattered was just getting by, not a bit of bark on black, stiff fabric. Rin could care less at the moment, she rarely cared about much of anything. There were her fans, her responsibilities...Rachel.
There came a sting, followed by flashes of Rachel's cute face, scrunched into a frown, her fiery gaze, angry, defiant, resistant...resisting her. Then came thoughts of her so unsure, red with blush and unease. She made Rin want to pounce her like the dragon upon the tiger, and yet cradle her like a tiger to her cub. Would she forgiver her if she fell for another? If she were to replace her? No. None could, and Rin had tried only out of her request.
"Hey Rin..." her voice, for the first time was somber.
"What is it .....?" Her name was still a blank in Rin's mind, Rin closed her book and looked at her room mate, "Daijoubou?"
She looked at the carpet, "Rin...if..if I ever had to leave..would you be sad?" The girl pulled her knees up under her chin, exposing ruffled pink panties but notice how the color complimented her creamy skin, her soft features, her hair...like a china doll she was.
"It would break my heart.."Rin replied, just as somber now and walking over, socking feet padding across the room so she could sit and hold her dear ____, "I love you, more that I will ever love any man, any husband or any other girl. You are my soul mate ____, I would be more than sad my darling. I would miss you like the moon misses the sun."
The girl in her arms relaxed,
"Could you ever be happy without me?" This girl wasn't the type to be jealous or condescending, her question was innocent, and Rin's reply was true.
"If you wished it of me, yes." Rin was very serious, this girl was never so melancholy.
"Promise me Rin-kun, promise that if I ever had to go away, you'd be happy again without me." The girls eyes were dark, her face like fallen moon.
"I promise," she said, kissing the girl's head sweetly, "I promise.."
After that they had kissed and cuddled until they fell asleep. Rin had thought to ask why the girl had been so somber, but it felt like she needed her to just be herself, to just love her instead, so she had. Then without warning...she...had....Rin could remember it clearly now, as if the raging storm reminded her with each stinging raindrop hitting her face.
"Minigawa-san!, Minigawa-san!" the headmistress called as Rin stormed to her room. No. Why hadn't ____ told her? Why hadn't she trusted her enough to confide that she was...that- Rin slammed the door, the sound startling her into a choked sound before she threw the lock in place. She was one of the few student given permission to add a lock to her door. She stormed forward toward the window, back again to the door, back to the window. The headmistress and a few sisters were at her door calling her name. "This is not how a future Etoile should act! Come out here and apologize!"
Rin ignored them. She said her lover's name, again and again. A whisper at first, then speaking volume. Rin had hardly noticed she was on her knees, white stockings against peach colored carpet, her manicured nails clutching her shoulders, she doubled over, eyes wide tears forming hot and painful in her eyes. Her heat beat as if it would tear from her chest. She just kept saying her name...her name...
She flew up as if possessed and like a wild animal began to tear at the posters; she took down the vase of roses and shattered it against the the ground, petals, broken glass, water, thorns--everywhere. She tore the books from the shelves, the blankets from the bed, the mattress from the frame, stuffed animals torn apart and the curtains torn to shreds, ripped from the golden rings that held them in place. And all these things...these things did not belong to Rin...no...her lovers things.
She had fallen to her knees, the glass cutting her legs turning her stockings red, her hands red. She was bleeding, she could no longer tell if it was the sisters outside screaming at her, or if the sounds of heartbreak came from her. Her name, her name, shortness of breath, pain, was it her heart? or her body? She fell over into the soggy carpet, was it the water or her tears? She called her name, closed her eyes, she screamed and screamed and screamed....why? Why?.....Why?"
"Why did you have to die?" she whispered to the storm, to her "Why did you make me promise...to.." She opened her eyes and looked around. It was dark, the rain still fell, thunder rolled overhead again, and there was a rustling in the brush nearby. Rin's deep green eyes watched it with disinterest, it was probably a sister, come to fetch her. But then she saw reddish-brown...that was it, her hair had been reddish brown. Could it be? Was Rin's mind indulging her fantasy? She stiffened and sat up.
There it was, the most sacred name, the one she never spoke, had vowed to never say again...perhaps just this once...just one more time...she'd say..
"Chibiru?" her voice was flat, and yet as that sacred name passed her lips, it brought back echos of her screams,
"Chibiru! Chibiru!! CHIBIRU!!!"
However from the brush emerged a single doe, a solitary peaceful creature. She looked frightened from the storm and she stared at Rin, the whites of her eyes visible around the pools of deep brown. Rin stared back, cursing herself from saying such a name to an animal. Suddenly the doe bounded off into the foliage once more, gone.
The silver-haired girl sat back and closed her eyes again, rubbing her hand where the glass had cut her so long ago. She had worn black stockings ever since that day to cover the scars on her legs, luckily her hands had remained clean of scars. After the punishment she had received from headmistress she had never acted out again either. Sighing she said it once more... "Chibiru..."she whispered, so quietly it was if she hadn't said it at all. She should be getting back soon, but the rain was starting to soften, it calmed her and her memories. Rachel's face passed trough her mind as she tried to imagine Chibiru's porcelain skin in the rain that day....she had promised. There was a reason Chibiru's name had been forgotten, a new name had to take it's place...
"Rachel...."
