Climbing the still hill to cherry tree glenn didn't see to phaze Chiyo, though she slipped on the grass a few times, she made it to the top where the wind was blowing strongly. She skirt waved around her thighs showing off peeks at her soft-pink panties. "I love it here!" She called back to Arcy, who was sure to be close behind her. The pink petals, swirled in the wind all around them, they were in a hidden grove, as if the rest of the world didn't exist beyond these blossoms. Her long pig tails floated in the beeze behind her and she turned back to look at Arcy,
"Follow me! The wind's not so bad this way!"
Crossing the grove to where the trees began to follow the hill back down, but still atop the the hill, five trees were grouped closely together, blocking out the wind.
"Ah," she said stepping into the pink shelter and giggling as she picked a few wild cherries from the branches. "This is my favorite place, it's so pretty!" She sat down against one of the trees, but then grabbed Arccy's shoulder and pointed out the way they came. There, dancing in the middle of the grove was a tiny swirling tornado of pink petals. Into the air until it disperses sending petals raining all around. "Flower rain!" She giggled, "Magical isn't it?" She meant no pun, but smiiled waiting to see if Arcy felt the same about it.

The path was not intraversible, and so Arceia was staying very closely. Chiyo certainly was an odd one. And very fun at that. The last time Arceia had this much fun with a person...
"Time to get up!" A voice called from the kitchen to her. It was one of her sisters. The oldest one, Laolyth, had prepared a meal for the three of them. Today was special. The middle girl, Teldra, offered Arceia a warm coat. "We got do this before it gets dark!" She said, allowing the door to open for them. They were going to build a treehouse, in the woods behind their home.
"It's breathtaking, Chiyo." Her slender arm reached out for the whirlwind, knowing she couldn't reach it from here but making the motions anyway. The day was great, and she was spending it with somebody equally great. "The last time I had seen anything close to this, I was with my older sisters. That was probably six or so years ago." Her heart skipped a beat, now turning to see the real site of the place. The main attraction to this fun place. As if straight out of an anime cliche, Chiyo and the petals coincided in such a symbol of beauty, Arceia just couldn't help it. She reached for Chiyo's soft hands, and hoped it wasn't ill received.

Chiyo was a bit surprised and blushed a bit as Arcy took her hands. She didn't really know what to do, other than squeeze, so she did.
"I've never brought anyone here.." she said, her voice a little quieter than usual, "but you seemed like I could trust you so..." she felt like they were in a fairy tale and she found herself expecting Arcy to take the lead. A breeze wandered through the circle of threes hiding the two girls. This year was starting out wonderfully, with this girl holding her hands, these trees strong a tall, the flower petals falling all around, and a romance just barely beginning.
Chiyo was touched, even though she wondered if she were the only one as strongly affected by the simple brush of fingers against fingers.

"Chiyo..." Arceia's arms wrapped around Chiyo, bringing her in whilst still holding her hands behind her. Was it too soon, she wondered? Or was it right to do now? She had never done this before, it was hard to gauge. Chiyo though... She was the first friend Arceia had since her sisters, and she hadn't seen them since they both graduated. She'd never connected with another girl this much. "You can trust me with anything." Said Arceia, her head now resting gently against Chiyo's soft hair. That sweet scent she had about her just kept at it, and reminded her of comfort and of belonging. Their bodies were pressed tightly, and Arceia was not letting go anytime soon. Though it kept bothering her that she may be too quick. What if this wasn't the right time to her? Was it maybe not what she felt too? She had to ask. "I-I really like you, but... Is it too soon, Chiyo? Am I moving too fast?" She certainly hoped to hear that Chiyo was all for this as well. They met in the rain, became friend, then room mates, and then... She'd hoped there was a next step forward for them.

Chiyo's eyes were wide, she was startled. Part of her wanted to yell 'That's great, this is fine!' but the other part...the stronger part pushed her away awkwardly. She was blushing so hard her face was pinker than the blossoms that surrounded them. "I...." Her gaze fell to the ground. "I like you you too...but..." she wasn't used to intimate touching, a simple hug or holding hands was fine, but more than that...Chiyo had yet to have ever even been kissed. Her pink skirt fluttered around her legs in the breeze and her hair move with it in harmony. She bit her lip.
"I..I'm sorry.."I'm not used to that...just...take it slow," she tiny voice peeped like a baby bird in the small circle of trees. "Let's...be friends for more than an hour okay?" She tried to smile feeling bad, but still meaning well. "I'm sorry," she figured this was embarrassing for both of them and felt like a frozen atature as she wait for Arceia to reply.

Sinking. With every word and movement of the girl, that is what Arceia's heart did. There was always an error in judgment. Perhaps Chiyo was right, and they should wait a bit. That nagging feeling in her mind told her to keep trying. To press tighter than before and hug the breath out of her as she wanted to do. But she couldn't do that without permission.
I guess I'm just not good with timing.
Her hands released those of her room mate's, and she slowly took steps back until at an appropriate distance away. When she lifted her head, her features were built into a smile. "It's okay, Chiyo-chan. I was hasty. You're right, we should get to know each other better first."
What am I saying? I don't want to know you better, I want to know you entirely!
She gave a nervous laugh, trying to think of some way to brighten the conversation and not severely damage what could already have been wounded, metaphorically. Her only idea was to forget that she had ever confessed and try to move on in an unrequited crush situation for the time being.
With the end result in mind, and knowing exactly what she wanted, Arceia placed a hand on Chiyo's shoulder and kissed her cheek delicately. "I'll wait for you, Chiyo. I promise. Until that time, we're best friends."

Chiyo's demeanor had fallen as Arcy spoke, until it look as if she were about to cry when the girl released her hands. She felt so bad, but the kiss turned it all around. As if the girl had forgotten the entire dark cloud that had formed over them, she smiled brightly. "Best friends!" she agreed, taking up Arcy's hand again. It's not that she was opposed to dating the girl, in fact, she wanted to, but she wanted to be sure. And finding that out would take time.
The school bells began to chime, signaling lunch, "Dong, ding donnnng, dong, ding donnnng," was the sound that reached them, "Back to the lunch room I suppose," she smiled, and began to drag her new friend by the hand down the hill.
