Here are a few pictures I drew up on paper. I became inspired while watching the negima series my brother downloaded for me. Ibreally like how they came out. I'm working on Rin's line art and will eventually finishe them all. Rin~ Two pictures of Rachel~ (Here she is standing on a bridge with her arms propped up on a rail. Sorry I didn't draw that. I'll draw the full picture when I do the line art.)

Oooh, you should! I can't wait to see the finished copy of the third one, I'm really looking forward to seeing the way you fit her in with the background and anything. You need to teach me how to do poses!~

I shall and hopefully I'll have the line art done soon so the details will be better. And poses are pretty easy when you use the skeleton stick person. There are some tutorials online if you would like me to send a link to a useful one.

That'd be awesome. People keep telling me to use the skeleton stick person, but I get too lazy and impatient. =/ And my drawings always end up looking weird when I try. I must not be doing it right or something. Tutorials would be great! <3

I was the same way when I first started. I find it easier once I have drawn the face then I can do the rest. I'll get a tutorial for you soon.

Really? Then I wonder if I'm just doing it wrong. But yeah, for some reason my proportions turn out wrong when I use the stick figures. I mean, they turn out more proportionately correct, but not the way that I like my drawings to look.
The tutorial would probably help, though. For some reason, I just haven't been able to do it myself and that really bothers me. =/

Sorry I haven't replied to this sooner. I have been working on the pictures and been dealing with some stuff. As far as your porportions go, it's really practice that defines that. I took pictures of three pages of my manga art book I've been studying for you. I think they might help. If not, I can make my own tutorial up for you if you would want. Here are the line arts for my pictures...I added in Arcy's character even though I didn't post the drawn picture. Rin: Arcy:(by the way, I nominate her for an "Ask Arcy" forum) The Two Rachels: (I still haven't managed to draw the background for this one)

I think I've seen the book you use before! I looked at it in the store and thought of buying it. I remember the thing about the body types. XD *sings* It's a small world after all~
Thanks for sending those, though! I guess I need to stop being lazy and I should actually...practice. TT^TT
By the way, they look very nice. I like Arceia, she looks sort of serene. Something about her makes me think of Hotaru from Sailor Moon. XD I think your drawing style reminds me a lot of Sailor Moon (anime version) and the DB series. It's very cute. ^^

You should have ha! It's really useful. And yeah, yuki(who use to be on here) told me to practice drawing different things thousands of times and that's what makes a manga artist so good. I feel I have improved since then.
And thank you. She does look serene doesn't she ha. And yeah, I draw a lot of sailor moon stuff so it's hard to draw differently. And I have recently been trying my hand at DB style so yeah, it's really fun.

I started out with Sailor Moon style, but I learned to draw by copying the manga. So my drawings tend to have short torsos and long legs. Not as obvious as in the SM manga though. It's a good idea to practice like that. I'm just so lazy~! And I get bored so easily. I really tried drawing this one character over and over and over again in different ways. But I got so bored with it. But if it helped you improve, it sounds like it really works so maybe I'll try it. I do have a really hard time drawing the same thing more than once. For some reason, it comes out looking so completely different the second time.

Yeah, I tend to go for a more natural look but the heads on my pictures tend to be too big. I still need to improve on that. But draw circles over and over until you can draw a perfect one...I still suck at that but getting better.

Your drawings are wonderful, so don't you dare say that you suck. Everyone's too hard on themselves and on their work. I remember my art professor telling me once that it's usually the drawings that we think are the worst that are actually the most interesting and the ones that we think are the best sometimes are outshone by others. Something like that. He said it so much better. Lol.
I tried for a while going for a more natural look, I think I have some of those on my deviantart. But even though it turned out nice and I liked it a lot, I realized that I didn't have as much FUN drawing them as I did drawing the ones with the sort of strange proportions.
Well, when I try these stick figures, I'll show everyone the horror that takes place. XP I've been using one of those little wooden drawing model things. But he can't always move the way real people do so it's a little frustrating. I've been using posemaniacs a lot for the more complicated stuff. Or I take a picture of myself doing it. XD The stick figures would probably make much more sense.

Well thank you. That was very insightful. I haven't taken any classes unfortunately...I was going to take some online classes for animation but I couldn't.
Yeah, it is more fun drawing unique things. I just don't do it very often. I feel like I should master normal before adding my own twist to it.
Lol well I hope it goes well for you. I can't take pictures of myself for reference. I wish I could though. I've never used a wood person before. I wonder what that's like. By the way, the signature with the angel wing, did you draw that?
