Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Anxi is comparative to a young little sparrow sitting in a cage, always dreaming and staring out behind the sunlit bars out the window beyond. With her childish green eyes, there is always a sense of curiosity brewing within them. Anxi is a young soul, naive soul with the mindset of a maid, a fragile build, and the imagination of a princess. She loves telling stories, especially fairytales, as she spent her days telling many a riveting fantasy tale to the younger girls of the orphanage; leaving the older girls to scoff, but not go without a few curious hypocritical ears. She is a bit shy towards those older than her because of the older array of girls that giggled at her or shot her mean glares or gossiped or hit or clawed at her from time to time, but she also admires them; they are like blooming princesses to her just an edge away from becoming a queen. She can be blunt and think rude thoughts when she wants to, but usually only keeps these edges to herself, as to not upset anyone.
Dancing, drawing, and music are the young girl’s passions. She would often practice them when the stern headmistress wasn’t around, and someday dreams to master all three, although she was often told a, “clumsy little bird like her” knew not how to fly and would soon plummet out of the sky before she even could attempt one. Her legs are short, and her face too childish, and her frame light but still young, but that wouldn’t and won’t stop her from dreaming about playing for an audience or gliding across the stage to impress a princess, if possible. When it comes to duties, she will accept any without protest; especially her maid duties. Some might call her a bit of a ragdoll, but listening to others and doing as she is told was something she was strictly taught and reminded every day by the strict headmistress.
When it comes to love, it’s like a cherry pink haze to Anxi. It all sounds so dreamy and wonderful; just like in her fairytales. She would become very shy if someone confessed their love to her; on the other hand, she would become very shy herself and come up with cute, childish little excuses to be near that person.
What does you character think of the Etoile position as a whole? She thinks it is very romantic and gets all flustered and lightheaded just thinking about it. It’s a position fit for a true princess!
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday? Though a princess she may not be in addition to not being very confident with herself, she would love to think about about it. A girl can dream!
What does your character think of the current etoiles? Michelle is a beautiful, white-haired queen to her, and Momo, her adorable pink princess! Anxi admires Michelle’s motherliness and polite mannerisms and feels drawn by her motherliness, and feels like she could befriend Momo if ever given the opportunity. She wishes the girl didn’t have to feel so trapped by the teachings of refined grace, and would just be her fun self more.
What does your character think of the other schools? Miator kind of reminds her of the orphanage, with its strict rules and even stricter nuns. It makes her feel a little more comfortable in this new environment, though, as it is a bit familiar. Spica is a bit to boisterous and sporty for her, but she does not participate in the rivalry. Lulim is something straight out of the fariytales she used to read! So pink and carefree and fluttering. She would love to try on the uniform one day, and secretly thinks the girls from Lulim are very endearing.
~History~
Please write in 100 words or more your character's history before she came to Miator:
Anxi, born under the name “Hanako”, was born in Paris to a Japanese man and a lovely French woman. Her father was a solider and was away at the time stationed overseas. He wrote to his wife often, and though he wasn’t there to see his daughter, he looked forward to the day when he could come back and they could be a full family again. Soon, however, there were no more letters. Her mother waited anxiously day and night. When the mail finally came, she sifted through the letters only to find that her husband had been killed in action. This gravely distraught the woman. With her husband no longer alive and little money to live off of, she sold their large house in Paris and moved with the infant Hanako to London into a cheap apartment. It was cramped and bleak but it was here that she would have to come to call home. She raised Hanako for a year, struggling to acquire enough money just to get by each day, and falling more and more depressed like the clouds that constantly obscured the rainy sky. The financial hole just kept getting larger and larger and soon the poor woman didn’t have enough to support both herself and her child. It was unfair for such a beautiful little girl; a life like this; so it was with a heavy heart that one night the woman painstakingly left her girl at the doorstep of an all-girl’s orphanage, never to return.
The headmistress there found the baby and took her in. She provided for the baby and took care of her as her own for the first few years until she became old enough to function on her own. Hanako was a quiet, anxious child, always teaming with nervous energy. This was the most defining aspect of her, and it was because of this, the old mistress came to call her Anxious, or “Anxi” for short. Even though she was raised by the headmistress herself, Hanako, now Anxi, she wasn’t given any special privileges. She tended to the other girls of the orphanage like a maid, finding her days encompassed by sewing their dresses or cleaning or dusting. They carried themselves as if they were one day to be royalty, rather than orphan girls. Anxi began to see herself more as a little maid as the days went on. The girls weren’t very nice to her, and she was often giggled at and whispered about behind her back, but she always kept up her head and never faltered, even when physical lashes were involved. When she turned the necessary age to being schooling; twelve; the head mistress began wondering what to do with her. Having been raised more like a measly drudge for twelve years, she hadn’t put the girl through much schooling in the specialized orphanage. But she couldn’t just have Anxi stay behind while the other girls were finally finding homes and families to adopt them. No one wanted the poor Anxi. Either that, or the prideful headmistress just didn’t want to give her up. So it was one day, after she had tended the old-fashioned hearth of one of the older girl’s that Anxi was called in her office, expecting an important errand to run. The headmistress had been eyeing an all-girl’s academy in Japan. She would send the young girl there. Not only to rid of her of the dreary orphanage, but also in hopes that she return a proper young lady. Over the next few months, she hired many a skilled tutor to quickly teach the girl Japanese. Anxi barely had any time to adjust before her things were packed and she was saying goodbye to the only motherly figure she had known at the terminal gate of the airport. A little girl of twelve all alone flying to a new foreign land. She would just have to treat it as an adventure.

“She’s such a dreamer.”
“Never will get far in life!”
“Look how she just stands there gawking about, no posture!”
“Haha, what kind of family or man would want a little bird such as that.”
When the chattering voices from the other girls became too much, Anxi would escape away into the attic with her little bucket and mop. She had it turned over and stood on her toes on top of the old metal thing, the handle of the mop clutched tight to her chest and a small hand reaching up to the glowing skylight. The melting orange light dyed the old, dilapidated room in a rosy dusk light. This was her sanctuary. Her heaven. Every evening at the same time. Particles of sparkling dust fluttered around her like miniature fairies. They tickled her nose and she would only provide them with the faintest of giggles, afraid that if she laughed to loud the magic would be gone.
She could hear the shuffling of the other girls down on the floor below. Sarah giggling about something mean and stupid Emmalynn had said, Claudia humming while brushing her doll’s tight golden curls. Lily and Lolli whining for seconds, but instead receiving a harsh scolding by the pristine Ruth. Finnie would stay in her room and Yorkie would be shifting the coals of another’s. Maria would be singing while brushing sweet little Grace’s hair over and over and over until it flowed like silk over her slender shoulders. If she listened hard enough, she was sure she could even hear Penelope’s music box going round and round as she mimicked the ballerina twirling within the ornate musical box.
Anxi finally let out a breath and hopped off the bucket, being carefully not to knock it over. Even if it was empty, it was a bad omen among the girls of the orphanage. A few “fairies” swirled about her black bob, some catching in the black strands. The mop handle rested more comfortably in the crook of her arm. She had to watch how careless she sometimes became up in the security and privacy of the atiic; if she was too reckless she would smear her apron and then the headmistress would surely have her head! She didn’t want to go back to wearing that faded gray garb again after just earning a new Sunday dress to scurry around and tend to her maid-like duties in.
The small, flightless little bird just stared up at the sweet glowing inferno of the approaching twilight and the tendrils of the few old-fashioned chimney smoke that still whisked through the air from time to time. Her eyes felt heavy and her body felt so light. Perhaps if she closed her eyes she would soar away into that dazzling sky, adrift among the stardust and clouds forever. A smile graced the small girl’s rosy lips at the thought. She closed her eyes and smiled up at the square of light.
One day…
