Hika hadn't really been in the best of spirits as regularly as usual in the past couple of months. Sure activities had kept her busy, and she loved working with her fellow hostesses in the Rose Garden. Since she'd first started working there she'd really grown into an effective hostess for girls who could get really stressed out with exams and the like. You learned a lot on the job and her senapis had taught her a good number of approaches that suited almost every girl who strolled in looking for companionship. Or just a nice cup of tea. Aside from clubs and school, though, she'd kind of had a bit of a hole in her life since her first year had ended. Though they'd been friends almost immediately Hika hadn't seen her first friend at LeRim in months. Though her friends had told her the girl was okay Hika had been awfully worried. Every day she'd wait by the dorm room hoping to spot the girl and strike up a conversation with her. She'd written classy classics just to raise the girl's spirits if there was ever a rough day at school. Alas it seemed that Hina was no longer there at all. Time passed and this fear was proven correct - Hika was officially without a roommate again.
Since the new year had begun she'd thrown herself into her studies and her work at the Host Club. Her reputation had preceded her a bit, and she got fan letters a few times which was pretty neat. Every time she got lonely in her dorm room she'd gotten back to work on writing a true Classy Classic. Something that could capture the attention of students and also assume a classy air that contemporary writings could lack at times. In short the project had become to turn one of her short classics into a full length script for a play! Hours upon hours had gone into refining it, getting it just right to have the true feel of a near-Shakespearean level of production! Now it was complete, and she'd been encouraged to seek out the LeRim Drama Club to explore the possibility of having it performed.
So with the script in hand (freshly printed off at her own expense) Hika arrived at the Drama Club, hoping against hope that her efforts had been fruitful. Were these girls really into the existing classics like Hina had been? Would they turn their noses up at her script? Never! It was so classy they wouldn't be able to help but take her up on the offer. Plus it had no royalties so that was a bonus. Smiling confidently she looked around to see who might be the person to take the matter up with. Uncertain of who was in charge, she decided to try a different tactic.
Posing dramatically, she announced, "Forsooth! I hath brought to you fine ladies a script which may bring much fame and fortune to those who perform it upon the stage! Written by none other than Hika-chu herself!"

It had been a long day so far - she had a hard test that she had spent the entirety of the previous night studying for. Luckily, Riho had a good feeling about it, so she didn't have to stress about it too much. She had rushed through eating lunch so she could get caught up on a reading she had to do for class, but now it was finally a part of her day that was fun - club time! In particular, drama club. She had never done drama before this year and had signed up for it on a whim, but she was actually really enjoying it! The blonde wasn't embarrassed to stand up in front of everyone and read, and the things they read were really fun! They did everything from Shakespeare to more modern plays, and they even learned a little about the history of theater and such! She still wouldn't consider herself an actress, but it was definitely something Riho had come to enjoy.
She reached the classroom and took her seat next to some other girls who she had talked to in the class before. She was finding it easy to make friends here, and in her others clubs too. Aside from a few odd people, the girls at the school seemed to be really nice! The blonde turned her head to talk to the girl next to her, but just as she opened her mouth, the door slammed open with a bang. Riho turned around in her seat to see who had come in late, but didn't recognize the girl in the door way. She had bright blue hair and blue eyes, sporting the classic Lulim uniform. The newcomer seemed to be very flamboyant, posing dramatically and making a statement in an old english style. This girl was interesting! Riho smiled at the bluenette in the room, and giggled softly to herself. A few people around her looked uncomfortable, but Riho ignored them.
"A script?" she asked. "That's great! I'd love to perform something written by another student!"

Grandstanding to promote your work to a group of theater enthusiasts would be expected to generate interest in that product. Hikari wasn't actually sure just how quality of work her play was in the grand scheme of things. So many illustrious authors had penned wondrous works which became instant classics that she had extra reason to doubt her writing. Just how likely it was that her own work would stand out in a crowd was really up in the air compared to established playwrights. That being said she was confident that her play would be a classy classic if it ended up being more than just a novel first attempt at a play's script. She'd been particularly inspired after rewatching a movie recently which itself was a classic in fact. Discovering that it didn't have a stage adaptation was quite surprising to her considering how great its story and characters were. All of that had motivated her to adapt it into a Shakespearean sounding play which she hoped the girls in the Theater Club would approve of. Or was it the Drama Club? Honestly she wasn't really sure but they were the people to see when it came to judging the quality of your script.
The blonde's enthusiasm helped her get over any anxiety she'd had about the play's quality. Actually this girl seemed really nice, which helped push Hikari into the next stage of the plan. Now that she'd been accepted into the fold she could present her script to an expert for appraisal. Hikari smiled really widely when she thought about how she would stack up against the relatives who'd made a name for themselves at each of the three schools. Yoriko Suzumi had been an Etoile who'd made Miator girls' hearts swoon. Yuki Suzumi had been a proper lady who lived up to Miator's lofty expectations. Both Maiko and Hiroko had become Etoile with girls from Spica, both of them being very popular. Now Hikari Suzumi would be adding her name to that pantheon, etching her name next to the title 'playwright extraordinaire'. It would be fantastic!
"I'm so glad you're excited about it! I promise you won't be disappointed," Hikari told the blonde, breaking from her faux Elizabethan verbage, "It's got everything - thrills, laughs, ghosts, romance! If you stage it, this play will make every one of the actresses and crew famous and popular!"
Then she held it out for the blonde to examine, "Courtesy of Suzumi Hikari, creator of Classy Classics!"

Honestly, Riho didn't have much experience with theater. Although she was excited for the opportunity, she was afraid that she would let this girl down. What if she wasn't good enough and ruined the whole play? It's not like she would be the only one acting in it, so maybe it wouldn't be that bad... She looked up at the blue haired girl, who was smiling gleefully. There was no way she could back out now. That would probably disappoint her more then if she performed poorly! So, she smiled back up at the girl. "I can't wait," she replied enthusiastically. Giggling slightly, she commented "A ghost story? Sounds exciting!"
Something about the girl's name stuck a chord in her. Riho was still fairly new to the school, so she didn't know everyone. However, she felt like she had heard the name Suzumi around before. Maybe she had a sister in one of her classes? Well, thinking about it now would be no good. She held out her hand, offering it to the other girl. "I'm Kanazawa Riho. It's very nice to meet you!" She grinned, taking the script. "So, this is a series? Classy Classics?" She flipped through the script, skimming the pages. It seemed to be very well written, and, as Hikari had said, full of ghosts and thrills. "This seems really good," she commented. "I can't wait to start rehearsing it."
Looking around the room, she realized they would have to get a team together to fill all the roles and figure out casting, but that wasn't really her department. Looking up at Hikari again, she smiled. "Are you going to act in your play too, Suzumi-san?"

Hikari was already starting to brainstorm what the programs and posters for her first full length Classy Classic would look like. Nevermind that she had only just handed the script to a member of the Theater Club for inspection. There would be a production of this show and she was very curious what the promotional materials would look like. Plus there would have to be costumes and that was a totally different matter! Should they go with the type of look which the lines in the play heavily suggested, making that extra effort to look Shakespearean as well as sound it? Who would make those costumes? Surely there were crafty girls here at LeRim who would be able to design and sew the costumes. Yes, this would be fantastic!
Her confidence was vindicated when Riho told her that she couldn't wait to start rehearsing it. Clearly that was a sign of approval on behalf of the drama club. Now they got to the fun part - finding people to help! She grinned as she responded to the question, "Classy Classics is a series of things I write! It takes things people are familiar with and crafts them into classy language which transcends the ages!"
After shaking Riho's hand she added, "This is the first full length Classy Classic, the first of many I hope! And acting in it? I'm not too sure - I guess I could direct it since I adapted it and everything. If we need someone extra to jump in I'd do it, sure! I think you ought to be in it too, Kanazawa-san!"
