What kind of clothes does you character wear when she's not in uniform? In uniform or not, Keiko is often seen wearing her long red scarf. Her fashion style is cute and feminine, and she loves adorable keychains which is apparent by looking at her phone or purse. She's mostly seen wearing light blue and light purple dresses during summer, often with a floral pattern. In winter she replaces the dresses for skirts, with a larger sweater on top.
What Sports/activities is you character involved in?
Equestrian Sports: Yes.
Horse name: Shika
Horse gender, breed and appearance: Shika is an Arabian horse, chestnut coloured, with white stockings on all four legs and a white blaze. She has a very typical Arabian look with a small muzzle, slender body and a tail held high. Her mane and tail is dark, almost black in colour, long and soft. She is well muscled, due to regular training and use, especially her back hips which are round and strong.
She's very quick and has an abnormally good stamina, living up to her breed's reputation. Her movements are soft, swift and light. In return she's also easily frightened ("hot-blooded"), needs a steady hand and an experienced rider. It takes time for the Arab to warm up to strangers, making her quite the "one man" horse. Having cared the horse for approximately three years Keiko has a strong bond with the young mare. Shika is currently about 6 years old.
Swim Team: Yes. She became a part of the swimming team in her first year but has yet to make much progress with her swimming. As the passionate girl she is, Keiko is to be found around the swimming pool every day, but is never chosen to participate in competitions due to her lack of speed. She has instead come to be a good helper to the better swimmers, cheering them on and helping them. After she's had a workout herself she will sometimes stay to assist the other girls and coach them to the best of her abilities.
Is your character on the Student Council? No.
If yes, what does your character think of the student council president? Despite not being on the council, Keiko is well aware of the infamous Shoka Donomoto. She thinks the older girl is quite frightening, but is intrigued by her none the less. Always believing no person is completely evil, she hopes someone will be able to warm her cold heart someday.
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Keiko appears as your stereotypical sweet and cute girl. She's easily flustered, naïve and always believes the best in people. She is, however, surprisingly brave, every day taking small steps forward to reach her goals. Loving sports, she exercise every day despite being quite clumsy and in general quite bad at physical activities. Keiko is especially passionate when it comes to equestrian sports and trains horseback acrobatics almost every day. Though she's still lacking in many ways, and falls down at least once a week. Her goal is to one day be able to entertain the whole school on one of the major events.
She easily cries and is very emotional, though she will try her best to put on a brave face none the less. Once she warms up to someone she never hesitates to speak her mind. Being one to easily trust people she's very easy to manipulate and if she is made to believe she is doing the right thing she will gladly carry out almost any favours.
Keiko is very much a small ball of energy. Despite having a slender and fragile body, mostly seen covered in bruises and minor wounds, she'll always climb back up on her horse's back and try again. She easily concentrates on other peoples' conversations when socialising, but has a hard time keeping up in class. Her mathematical skills are far below average and she does quite bad in theoretical subjects. Keiko's intelligence is not necessarily below average, though she is a girl who is always learning by doing instead of reading and listening.
Despite not seeming to have any particular skill, she has always had a special connection with animals. Ever since she was little Keiko would find stray dogs and cats, give them food and sometimes even bring them home; to her parents' despair.
What does your character think of the Etoile position as a whole? As a hopeless romantic, Keiko has always admired those whose love was so strong and convincing they could attain the title of an Etoile. Her feelings for the position in itself is mostly positive, as she sees it as an unique part of the three schools' culture. But she also sees how the pressure on the girls may be a bit too high at times.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday? Definitely.
What does your character think of the current etoiles? She admires and respects both of the Etoiles very much. She finds Hiroko elegant and beautiful, while Coyote is strong and tough. In addition to this she admires Hiroko's dedication and love of books. She is in many ways what Keiko wish she was herself, but knows she can never be.
What does your character think of the other schools? Keiko respects both of the other schools very much, though she has encountered a couple of Miator students in the past which held their nose a bit too high for her liking. Adding the strong competition spirit Spica has towards Miator, the young girl would lie if she didn't admit to having some feelings of rivalry towards students of Miator.
~History~
History before Astraea Hill:
Keiko grew up in a small but loving home in south Japan. Her family owned a farm where Keiko herself was expected to help out from an early age. She became accustomed to long days of labour in the sun, but grew to like it. They did not have too much money to spare, but lived a happy life, surrounded by fresh air, plants and animals. The farm also hosted a bunch of horses, owned by richer people who used their horses for competing. Keiko would often help out in the stable, taking some of the horses out for a ride and prepare their food. This was how she got to know the wealthy, lonely, elderly man named Takashi Yamamoto. They became good friends and she would eventually start caring for several of his horses, despite her young age.
When Keiko turned twelve her old friend died of stroke. Surprising the young girl and her family he had bequeathed most of his money to Keiko, along with one of his young horses, Shika. Wanting their daughter to have a good education the family decided to spend his money on giving Keiko and her older brother proper schooling and sent them both off to prestigious schools.
First Year: During her first year Keiko tried out several of Spica's sports club, trying to find the activities she liked the most. She made new friends and spent a lot of time getting used to the different environement.

"No, no, no! Keiko-san, don’t forget your seat!" Her instructor exclaimed, bringing her hand up to her forehead. The young student before her had a special connection with the horse she was riding, though they were both young and inexperienced. On top of that they seemed to both be slow learners and none of them would get particularly far like this.
"I'm sorry Ikeda-sensei!" The young girl apologised, trying her best to adjust to the teacher's words, but took her eyes off the path before her in the process. That was when a bird suddenly took off and flew past her and her horse, scaring the majestic animal beneath her. In a split second Keiko went from sitting on the horse's back to laying on the ground, groaning in pain as she made contact with the hard surface. She was hit with an intense pain in her left arm, obviously the part of her body that had taken most of the hit.
The older woman immediately ran over to the girl, kneeling by her side. "Keiko-san, are you all right?" She asked worriedly, reaching out for the small girl.
"I-I'm fine," Keiko managed a smile at her instructor, though obviously still in pain. She slowly sat up, placing her unharmed hand beneath her for support.
A relieved sigh came from the teacher as she helped the younger girl steady herself. "Good."
"I'm sorry, Sensei, I know I always make mistakes like this..." She trailed off, clutching her throbbing arm and gritting her teeth in pain. "But," Keiko forced out through closed teeth. "I'll get better, I promise." Just as the last word slipped out through her lips she felt something soft rubbing against her cheek. Her head turned to look at the horse now standing by her side, gently nuzzling her as if apologising for throwing her off. The young girl let of a laugh, letting go of her arm to gently stroke the side of the mare's face. "Won't I, Shika?"
