What kind of clothes does your character wear when she's not in uniform? She's got a relatively simple, yet sophisticated style. Always making sure to look what her mother calls 'presentable,' she will never leave her room without putting on decent clothing. But, after moving away from home she spends considerably less time dolling up in the morning and is rarely seen using accessories. Her style has also come to look more masculine over the years, and she now prefers suits over dresses on formal occasions. She does, however, like to frame her figure which make her appear very feminine, using for example suits fit for women etc.
What kinds of activities is your character involved in?
Flower Arrangement: Yes. She's actively been a part of this society since the beginning of her third year.
Foreign Language: Yes. Drilled from a young age in English and Chinese she's fluent in both languages, in addition to Japanese. Having an English dad and Chinese mom did of course contribute quite a lot to this fact. She often helps other students with their homework and does some private tutoring, participating regularly in foreign language meetings.
Astraea Host club: Yes. She will be joining the host club over the summer.
Others: No.
Is your character on the Student Council? Yes.
If yes, what does your character think of the student council president? She thinks the president is brave, yet fairly immature and inexperienced. She sees her as too naïve and too young for the responsibilities that comes with the title, regretting not applying for the position herself.
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Nayuki is a kind but fairly strong-opinionated person, though she usually shies away from confrontation and heavy discussions. There is, however, a line that may be crossed, if she's provoked to this extent. In this case she will clearly speak up for what she believes is right. Though she is usually in favour of letting her opponent speak their mind although their opinions might differ from her own. The perhaps strongest feature she has is her bravery and courageousness. Nayuki believes in herself and is able to keep quite a calm and confident outer due to her already set standards. She's hard to fool, but also hard to convince, which is a personality trait resulting in both positive and negative scenarios.
Her self confidence may however make her come off as slightly arrogant at times. She's also a bit of a 'the end justifies the means' person, and may do things without thinking them through or seeing things from a different angle. But she's always quickly adjusting her actions by reading people's facial expressions, which is how she usually stays out of conflicts. This makes her prefer to stay around people who wears their heart on their sleeves, rather than those who hides their emotions. If a person is keeping a neutral facade despite being in turmoil inside, Nayuki is prone to upset them in some way. Despite being slightly self-centred she is a sociable person, liking the company of others. She loves to try and keep up an heroic image by helping people and is very hard working.
Nayuki is constantly on a mission to be liked and respected by others, spending a lot of time doing activities she knows will be appreciated. She appears flirtatious and charming, but has never entered any serious relationships, seeing this as nothing but a hindrance. She's also very mentally stable, rarely getting jealous or worked up over things.
Growing up in inland Hokkaido, Nayuki is a girl who favours winter above any season, especially when it comes to sports. She's clumsy with her hands but gifted with well coordinated legs and generally good balance. This is also due to interest from her younger days, always loving to stay outside for hours and hours doing winter activities. This makes her a talented skier, ice-skater and snowboarder. She is, however, a slow runner and very bad at sports involving balls, mostly due to dislike of them hitting her while playing. Neither is she a team player, preferring to mind her own business when exercising and being bad at understanding game strategies in which involves the cooperation of players.
What does your character think of the Etoile position as a whole? Nayuki is neither an avid fan, nor does she particularly dislike the Etoile position. She understand how it might be a good representation of Astraea as a whole, but thinks it's often not really fulfilling its purpose, just turning into a hustle for both the girls and the school.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday? Although she can be convinced otherwise, currently, no.
What does your character think of the current etoiles? Nayuki thinks Coyote is a good Etoile, with a strong sense of justice. She believes she sets a good example for younger girls by being positive and caring. Though she sometimes wonder if the girl is truly taking her position seriously. When it comes to Hiroko, Nayuki's more sceptical, wondering if she's got enough confidence to be an etoile. Though she respects the girl wanting to overcome her fears. The fact that the girls are from different schools also serves as a plus to Nayuki, as she hopes it might help bringing the schools closer together.
What does your character think of the other schools? Nayuki is a fan of the diversity that the three schools together creates. She believes it's a good thing for people of different standards to meet and socialise, and sees no reason for there to be a huge conflict between them due to these differences. And, seeing how the cooperation between the schools results in more facilities for all the students she truly believes the benefits beats the disadvantages.
~History~
History before Astraea Hill:
Three years prior to Nayuki's birth, her parents met and fell in love in Japan. Her mother, Momoko Inoue, although living most of her life in Japan, was born in Xian, China, and lived there till the age of five. That's when her parents decided to move to Japan, in the process replacing their Chinese names with Japanese ones. Momoko was a hard working lady, convinced that she would become a successful businesswoman one day. She grew up in Hokkaido and, after finishing university in Tokyo, started working her way up in a stable financial company. That's where she met Nayuki's father, Will Thompson, an ambiguous Englishman with fluent Japanese and a seemingly charming personality.
Despite her parents' protests Momoko entered a relationship with Will and the two got married within a year. Momoko did however come to realise that she had entered a one sided marriage, finding a man who had long ago married his job. Having Nayuki did nothing to improve their loveless marriage, him distancing himself even further from his family and Momoko growing more and more cynical. She was left to mostly take care of their daughter on her own, forcing her to let go of her own dreams of making a career.
In the end Momoko never got that promotion she had worked for, her husband eventually chose even alcohol before her and her daughter and she felt herself slipping into depression which resulted in the loss of her job. But she saw divorce as a final defeat, in which she would not let happen, although her husband was becoming increasingly violent. Instead she focused her energy on her daughter, forcing her own dreams onto Nayuki. By doing this she quickly became a prime example of a tiger mother.
These events formed the very base of Nayuki's childhood, mostly directed by a fierce and strict mother and an absent, alcoholic father. She spent her early years worshipping her father, imagining him to be a kind and loving figure, despite his rare presence. However, this would all slowly but surely change as she became more aware of his alcoholism. At the age of seven the young Nayuki for the first time got to really know her father sober, seeing a very different man than the one she had looked up to. Under the influence of alcohol he would always laugh and joke around, without it he became easily angered and stressed. She soon came to distance herself from him.
Her mother was strict, but Nayuki grew up learning how to adapt to her ways. Almost. She worked hard and did well in school, but nothing she ever did was good enough. Still Nayuki kept her positivity and determination close, always believing she would one day truly impress her mother.
First Year: The order from her mother that she would be leaving home to attend the prestigious St. Miator came as a surprise to Nayuki. However it was a pleasant surprise and most of all a great opportunity. She quickly settled down in her new home, loving the freedom she experienced here in comparison to her home. Despite not making many friends she was an active participant in class and loved the school and its facilities. She also served as a maid during her first year, coming off as determined and highly professional to her seniors. There were especially one upperclassman whom Nayuki adored. She wanted to be like her more than anything and would subtly start copying her habits and ways of expression.
Second Year: Nayuki's admiration for her senior reached its peak during her second her. She started desperately wanting to be the elder girl, thinking her as an example of perfection. The upperclassman did however catch up on this after a while and ended up having a serious talk with the young Nayuki. This talk made an enormous impact on Nayuki as it in fact was the closest she had ever gotten to speak her mind and vent to someone who actually wanted to listen. It also changed Nayuki from being someone who desperately wanted to become someone else, to a girl who first and foremost wanted to find herself.
Third Year: During her third year Nayuki became more interested in building relations with people around her. She signed up for two clubs and actively participated in the meetings. She also found joy in helping and assisting others. This was the year where Nayuki truly found herself and gained a lot of confidence. Someone not so fond of her behaviour change was her mother, resulting in a falling out between the two. She threatened Nayuki to have her come back home, though her father, being the source of income for the family, had the ultimate say and wanted her to stay. This made Nayuki regain if only little, but some respect for her father.

Whenever summer reached its peak, bringing warmth and humidity, Nayuki always missed the winter dearly. She definitely preferred the cold over the heat, using fans and water to constantly cool herself down. Today had been the last day of school, in other words, cleaning day. She always loved to participate, usually to be found all over the place lifting heavy desks or swiping the floor. But after hours of work she really would've done anything to throw herself in a pile of snow. Instead she found herself sitting by the lake, her hand resting on top of the novel she was currently reading. She did, however, not really feel like reading and instead studied how the sky was perfectly reflected in the silent water below. It was truly breathtaking when filled with such beautiful clouds.
Feeling a tad bit too impulsive, and due to what might just be the early stages of a sunstroke Nayuki quickly stood up and took off her shoes. She hadn't brought any swimwear, but the thought of a cooling bath suddenly seemed too tempting to resist. She threw her socks on the ground and concluded that her uniform would dry quickly in this heat anyways and started jogging towards the lake. In a split second she had jumped into the water and was surrounded by the soft cool fluid. She stayed below the surface for a few seconds, enjoying the silence till the burning in her lungs brought her up.
After spending several minutes in the water she had eventually just started floating around on her back, watching the clouds slowly drifting. It was oddly therapeutic and she wondered why she'd never been a fan of cloud gazing up till now. Perhaps it was yet again the sun affecting her, she concluded as she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.
How did you find our website? As far as I can recall I searched the Internet for a SP roleplay and was lucky to find this amazing webpage. ^-^
Notes: Hi guys~. I hope you've all been well. So, here's the result of a 'rebooted' Nayuki. Please take good care of he—I mean include her in as much drama as you can. Her personality might change ever so slightly as I'm still a bit unsure where she's going. C: And I'm sorry her history includes so many details about her parents, but I figured as they're a pretty big part of her life that some background info on them as well would be nice. It's written in favour of her mother, so I might rewrite it to show her father in a better light at a later point.
