Her steps were short, and her attention was clouded with visions of the fruits around her. Or at the very least, where they would be come harvest season. There was much she needed to be here for, but for now, she was simply familiarizing herself with the layout to optimize her adventures here later in fall. These apples, they would provide a delicious pastry for her club. She could hand out the recipe too. So far, all that was missing from the recipe were these apples themselves, and they wouldn't be ready until much later.
Tree to tree, path to path, she paced herself to compartmentalize the way she was striding through. Her grace shone through even in her mixture of street clothes and formal clothes. She wasn't much to care for fashion after all, so she wore a button down shirt and a pair of decent dress pants, but also threw on a purple hoodie over the top of those.
All the while until she came to a stop, she seemed to be void of much expression. Her stop gave her eyes a bit of childlike wonder. This. This was the tree she would come back to. It was just tall enough that she could easily get to the top branches, but also seemed to be in a good section of the Orchard where few would probably venture. She could get many quality apples here.

So, walking the school grounds, without a map, while listening to music and spacing, turned out to be not such a great plan. Now she was lost. And since she was lost, what better way to get un-lost than to climb the biggest tree and look around?
That was all the logic she needed to start her trek up the behometh. What she hadn't thought of was the fact that the tree was in full bloom. This made it nearly impossible to see out through the thick branches.
Now that she had given up on that prospect, the dark haired girl shifted to sit on the tiny branch she was perched on. Only, a threatening crack was heard. She barely got out the start of 'uh-oh' when it gave out under her. A high pitched squeal, a few thuds and unsuccessful grabs for the branches she was dropping past, left the girl plummeting to the ground. Face first at that.
Like a cat, she flailed and put all limbs before her to try to lessen the blow. Save the face! Even so, the dancer ended up in a scorpion like position as her momentum hurdled her foreward. And right at the feet of a pretty girl at that.
Out of embarrassment or pain, it could have been either, really, she remained still then flopped over to the side.
"Ow, ow, ow.." Her fingers touched against her scratched forehead before her blurry vision focused in on the girl.
"I think I lost a life with that one." A nervous chuckle and a scratch to the back of her head later and she was struggling to her feet, swaying ever so slightly.

Suddenly the tranquility was shattered, and the scenery was at risk. She averted her eyes listlessly toward another tree as if to immediately discard this one thanks to the sound of breaking branches. Her surprise at seeing a person plummet down was only written in her eyes, which widened very briefly in surprise before returning to a subdued state.
"Please be careful." she urged. "You almost damaged the tree."
Making little mention of the girl's personal injury or anything involved with her made for a seemingly darker tone.
" And you almost broke yourself."
Seemingly.

"Eh? Oh. Naaah. That's a strong tree. It'd take more than measly, little me to damage it. Just one of the upper branches that was dead.."
She was rambling. Hmpfh. How unlike herself. Vivian brushed her knees off and then reached up to brush the blood off her forehead with the back of her head. She took little offense to the tree being put before her own distress.
"I'm fine."
She rolled a shoulder, placing her hand over it as she moved her arm. Then moved each limb in turn. Oblivious to the girl's cold shoulder, or just choosing to ignore it.
"Yep, all good.. Ah, mind if I ask a question? Do you know the way out of this place? I was trying to get a bird's eye view, but the blooms are too thick to see through."

She was lost? But this was an apple Orchard. A straight line of trees in many rows. She must have no sense of direction at all...
Still, she seemed genuine enough that there had to be something here to witness - some kind of better portion to this than the initial impression let on. It may or may not be worth her time to lead this girl back, easy thiugh it may be. Besides, she couldn't reasonably leave someone alone if they were lost. That would be unjust.
"You may follow me back."

"Awesome! Thank you so much!"
Vivian clasped her hands before her chest and bounced on her toes like an excited child. Then she held one hand out to the girl. After pulling up the sleeve of her baggy, off the shoulder sweater, that is.
"I'm Vivian Fairclough. You can call me Vivid though. All my friends do. I really appreciate the help. I should have been paying attention to where I was going. I didn't know that the schools even had an orchard."

"Yes, you should, but it's of no consequence now." she softly scolded, devoid of basically any form of true connection to the moment whatsoever. "I'm Sadie."
She removed herself from a formal introduction not for security purposes, but because that was the only name she would be called anyway, so logically this person wouldn't need her surname. Not the conclusion some others may come to, but she thought things through in a much more logic driven way regardless of if logic could be applied to them.
"I chose this spot because it is out of the way and I will have a bountiful harvest for my next creation. Naturally, this means I would like to ask you to keep its location private."

"Sadie.. Hmm." She seemed to be contemplating something as her thumb tucked under her chin and her index finger tapped against her lower lip. Viv then flashed a bright smile at the girl and tucked her hands behind her head as she turned her attention toward the sky.
"Princess, huh? That does seem to suit you. Rather cold and frigid toward us lowly folk. Not worth your time, am I?"
Her eyes shifted so she could watch her in her peripheral vision. It would be fun to push this girl's buttons, but first she had to find them.
"Perhaps, perhaps. It is a nice quiet place to take a date after all." Viv took a few quick steps forward and spun so she was looking at the smaller girl face to face. She even bent at the waist so their five inch difference vanished. "But we can keep it a secret between the two of us if you agree to meet me here for a date or two."

Was this some kind of a joke? Surely. Ah well, if that's the price she would pay for preserving the location of a good tree, she would take it. And yet, she had a feeling this girl was about to give her a reputation of sorts. A kind of public image as someone who dates others at first sight, and maybe as a cold hearted woman. This was also fine, as the only thing she would do in that situation is the same thing that she would do here. Work.
That was life. Working for what you want and not caring who gets in the way.
"I will accept." she bowed respectfully, the same tone crossing her lips and not a trace of a blush to be found. "Please take care of me."
She only agreed to the terms of the deal. She had no intention of taking things further.

Even knowing it would be polite to return the bow and the words, Vivian had no need for such politeness. Instead slender fingers cupped the girl's cheeks and gently led her out of the bow. The grin that met her was like a cat's whom had just caught the canary. Moments later their lips touched. A chaste brushing before she pulled back and started walking again.
"Promise sealed with a kiss. That's how it goes in the fairytales, right, Princess?"
Of course she would take care of the Princess. She would take care of every Princess. Vivian was a just Knight after all.
"Those creations you were talking about.. You'll bring some for me to try next time right? I'd enjoy something made by my Princess' hand. I'd treasure ot forever, actually." She gave a nod to this as if assuring herself that she would.
"I'll even help you get the better specimens from higher up. That's where all the best ones grow, no? Where they get plenty of sun. I think I read something like that somewhere."

Most things didn't get to Sadie, and this was no different. She had honed her patience and disconnection over many years, she wasn't about to show any of that now, even if that had been a first.
"I am creating Apple Roses." she stated, ignoring the kiss almost entirely on the outside. "They will be in season soon, and I hope to sell them as well. Perhaps I could also make cider."
Listing her ideas wasn't rambling. It was marketing.
"I cannot provide these things on a date taking place prior to returning here at least once during apple picking season. Please be patient for that."

"No worries. I'm a patient person. Like I said, I'll help you out picking them. If you need any help making the stuff, I wouldn't mind helping with that either. I'd get to spend more time with a pretty Princess after all. We could make it our first date."
Her hands slid into her jean pockets as she shuffled along.
"Plus I wouldn't mind learning new things. I'm not that great of a cook. I grew up in a dorm and they didn't exactly have cooking classes there unless you were going for culinary."

This woman was certainly playing at a different game than she was used to, but that was fine. She had without trying just acquired an assistant for the collection of her apples. That much did matter, and she was glad to have it. The faintest fragment of a smile traced the smallest moment one could record before twitching away into a deadpan look.
"We can do that."
A simple way to describe the situation. No words wasted, no breath used that wasn't needed. Straight forward was the name of this game and she knew it well, so she would drive the game back in her favor with it.
SShe began to lead toward the way out of the Orchard, beckoning only once with a lighter gesture to signal that they would be ready to move.

Vivian smirked smugly at the faint smile that the other girl gave. So she wasn't devoid of emotion. Wonderful. This game just got all the more fun. It would be a fantastic trial to get her to smile more. It was cute after all.
How far could she take it before the girl had had enough? They had just met after all.. Maybe she shouldn't push it after getting her to accept the idea of a few dates. She hadn't minded the kiss, so she could at least link arms with her right?
The dancer fluidly moved to the girl's side and slid her arm into the space between her elbow and body. She drew the appendage closer to her own body as her hand gently grasped her forearm.
"I don't want to get lost again."
Riiight. Because that was a logical excuse to cling to a girl you just met. But she was just too cute! Ugh. Oh well, she had already done it.

The only challenge was, Sadie wasn't sure what she thought about this girl herself, so it was even more difficult to form a reaction to something. Her mindset took her to different places, such as how delicious her pastry could be. How she could get her ingredients timely. How she could extend her paragraphs to meet a certain quota within the site and not be lazy. Wait.
"You will be just fine." she stated without care, semi pushing the girl away by lifting her arm and instead grabbing her hand. Not linking hands like a couple would, but more like a handshake. Like the way a person would hold another's hand in a crowd to not get separated. In this new position, she began moving forward once more, not breaking stride despite the additional weight she may have been dragging along, or perhaps not speeding up to follow suit if the girl stepped ahead. She would not break stride for anything.
It was also good to note the gesture of grabbing hands was accompanied by no external noises of displeasure, nor was the separation of arms. She was silent until spoken, even so far as to barely having an audible breath in silence. There was no true way to tell if she was enjoying herself or not, which is how she was used to behaving.
