As Alice prepared to be let go of, something halted Jessie, and instead a chorus if words came out. They sounded out of character to the pink haired girl. Then came something that surprised the snowy spider.
Now that sounded pretty out of character. Intense, too. Even for the spider's standards. Sure, she was uneasy with touch. She only knew how to touch, but never became accustomed to the opposite. Spiders weren't used to mutual interaction. All alone in their web ready to bite and thread their prey. Injecting venom when needed. She knew quite well she was stiff during their dance. It her nature. The whole unfamiliarity of being touched when all she knew was how to touch.
Physical things... Things of surprise if she ended up with a stranger of the opposite gender. What sort of physical things? Her mind was a snow flurry of thoughts. This might not be good, yet at the same time, maybe it wouldn't be that bad. She's already stepped out of her comfort zone - her fragile web - when she allowed for the girl to pick her up. And if touch could burn, it would have. But of course there would be no possible way she could feel the flames.
"Like what, miss McKnight?" She finally managed to say, her voice laced with just a small bit of venom, though it was unnoticeable. Yes, she'd keep her fangs bared until furher notice. Spiders could be cautious creatures after all.

Like what? This was a question that echoed. She didn't know, shed wish she hadn't thought of the idea. Slowly she lowered the other girl, rubbing the back of her head now she let a sigh leave. One that was laced with unconscious regret.
She gazed at the girl but couldn't seem to face her for a moment then she spoke, soft and timid at first yet grew louder as she felt it was important. " l-like... Um... Like just being held a moment ago you were full tension. I ... I know how a touch can strike fear in a person...or discomfort...you never can trust a hand, always second guessing its nature. Will it hit you...or mess your hair. Will a love ling kiss become a bite? .. It is all so....confusing."
She took a breath. She glanced back at the girl which now stood watching her every move. " I mean like if you tired to.... Touch someone's neck...as you've done before from me you get a shiver ..but someone else...may want to take that as an opening. "
Jessie sighed again now running fingers through her pink stands of hair she closed her eyes. " each person is different. And some....can be a forceful devil...waiting for you to slip up..then there will be others that will be a gentle reminder with each touch they give you of why you want them around."
She finally found the icy spiders face again. " don't you want to be able to tell which is which so you can bite when needed and caress when wanted?"

Alice listened to the girl as she was lowered. Jessie had a point A strong point at that. How to touch and the physicality behind it. The possibilities that could arise from even an extend of the hand. The spider was no angel when it came to touching. She often used it to flirt and manipulate; lead a girl on in a false fairy tale before crushing her heart without a second glance back. She'd caused do much pain with her touch. So much tears. Yet she had felt nothing in return.
Was her touch to Jessie? A devil's or an angel's? Perhaps just an icy spirit or a potentially dangerous spider that could snap at any moment. Jessie's own touch to her... She couldn't describe it. Touch was uncomfortable to her. Not because she was afraid of the outcome - if someone were to hit her she'd bite them right back with a dose of venom, but because of her experiences with it. To touch but never be touched. Such was a spider's familiar conduct. A temptress's code. A serial heartbreaker's guide.
"Don't you want to be able to tell which is which so you can bite when needed and caress when wanted?"
The spider didn't even know how to answer that. Her caresses were as venomous as her bite. That was how she caught her prey. But.. She had almost bore her fangs and wrong times during their practices merely out of discomfort of physicality. Frosted blue eyes tightened slightly at the edges, piercing through her partner. How to respond? What to say? For once she had no clue. Stuck in her own web.
"I...suppose." Came out finally. It was hesitant almost; a rare occurrence for the snowy spider. She wasn't all that conscious in her answer for once. Jessie's words had made her think. Reflect and consider. Something she rarely ever did.
Spiders needn't waste their venom carelessly with a bite. One moment of waste could leave them exposed - vulnerable - after all. Just as how Jessie has addressed reactions to touch.

Waiting patiently for an answer she seems to have tangled both of them in the web. She wondered what Alice was thinking. She watched as icy glaze became intense.
Jessie swallowed. Then she heard the words she once had changed character for. I suppose. Yet this time she didn't push it, if she made the wrong move now they could both fall from the web.
She looked at the girl, a hand rose to meet her cheek, she hesitated, her hand hovered feeling the cold glow of the others skin. "Alice....im going to touch you."
With the warning she let her hand fall to gently touch the cool cheek. As Jessie let her hand cup the snowy angels cheek she let a breath escape. Her thumb glided across Alices jaw.
It was left there for a moment. Unsure if she should let it slide away. Yet she wanted to she Alice's reaction. Besides she had one last thing to say. " I want to do a dance with you, that has everyone in awe."

Blue orbs narrowed slightly once more as Jessie raised a hand to rest it just above her cheek. A warning was giving, and the soft, warm hand gently contacted her cheek. Alice tensed naturally. A few alarms even sounded in her head. She wanted to bare her fangs, but tried to keep them hidden. She tried to focus on the warmth of that hand to distract herself from the discomfort of touch. Of that thumb sliding along her jaw and that palm against her icy cheek.
Then came another statement. One that Alice almost didn't hear in her attempt not to bite. That's right. They were dance partners. Dancing required physical contact. The more comfortable partners were with each other, the more beautifully they flowed. Could Alice even do such a thing? Perhaps, if a poisnous spider could truly be tamed into comfort.
The snowy spider tried to close her eyes for a few seconds, hoping if she shut her eyes off from the world for just a second, she'd forget all about that hand and it's burning warmth. It did little to help. Instead, she raised her own lily-white hand to let two slender fingers softly rest against the wrist of that hand. This gave her a sense of slight control of the situation and calmed her a little. As long as she knew she could have control of this hand if needed; as long as she didn't feel cornered in her own web; she could keep herself from biting. Because one skillful move from the spider could send them both plummeting from that web.
Yes, yes, that was better. She could easily make them fall if she wanted to. All what needed to be done was hit the wrong silken thread and the fragile web came apart at the seams like a dress being sewed. Jessie was stumbling further out onto the finest threads at this point. Would they even hold her? The snowy spider could only wonder.

Eyes were narrowed, Jessie's body shook, and so did her breath. She watch the snowy white haired girl, as she rose her hand placing two fingers over her wrist.
chill rose up jessie's arm... She noticed Alice had closed her eyes. Trapped in thought. Yet some how once her fingers laid on Jessies arm,she calmed..even for a moment.
Deciding on something she took Alices free hand, as gently as possible so not to cause any web to brake . She lifted Alice's hand to her own waist. Before letting the chilled hand be placed over the skin she warned...no...warned wasn't right she allowed Alice to know her discomfort spot. "I am going to allow you to hold my waist, as if leading in a dance. ..there's a reason why I lead, and double step when I start...i didn't learn to lead until later...."
The icy hand was laid over a thin curve of Jessie's waist, it was clear now it was made up of the scare from jessies back. Now it was clear it was made from a base ball bat. Jessie's body finally stopped shaking to freeze. She wasn't use to being felt there. She hadn't let anyone even her doctors touch that area.
" Y-you have control.full control. Now let me touch you with out a guiding hand. "
Her voice was almost cold, shed never spoken to anyone this way...that is since the day she saw her father being taken away. She let her usual soft tone add another word. " please."

The snowy spider's hand was taken gently as to not sever the fragile web. White lashes flickered open to let the two pools of ice focus back onto the girl. Much to her surprise, her hand was guided to Jessie's waist. A location that was next revealed to be a spot of great discomfort. She wondered why at first, but when her palm was lowered to rest against the pale the skin, she noticed a scar there.
A scar... It looked - and felt - like one made from a harsh impact. A bat perhaps? The conclusion circled darkly in Alice's mind. She noticed how the other's body had ceased shaking to freeze completely for a moment. This was definitely a spot of discomfort for her. One of past traumas probably too. Had she been abused in the past? The spider felt a rare twinge of sympathy tighten her chest.
As for control, Jessie stated that the spider had it now. Full control. It made her feel a bit more at ease in the situation. The girl's voice had sounded cold when she had said it. Alice dared not move the hand that rested at Jessie's waist. Nor did she let the fingers there tense any further. If it was a spot of true discomfort, then one movement - whether voluntary or not - would probably horribly frighten the girl or make her extremely uncomfortable. The spider certainly did have full control now.
Frosted blue orbs slithered back up to the boyish girl's face at the final pleading word. Jessie had just granted full control to her. To the potentially lethal spider that could bite her or eradicate her from her web with one wrong move. So much risk was now piled upon the other. Their little game had grown a bit dangerous.
"Fine." The sharp word slid softly from the white spider's pale lips.
She'd moved her own king back across the imaginary chess board of her mind, allowing the other to advance a piece. Not quite a checkmate. Not yet. Alice still kept up her guard but had disabled a small fraction of the ice to allow the other to touch her.

The waves of the lakes water hit them, it was getting late... How long have they been there?. Shed gotten a Fine. Neither a agreement nor a disagreement in what was happening. Jessie tried to relax. She trusted Alice. But she still did have one haunting thought, was she going to be let go,to fall from this web. No. She had to trust her partner. This finally led Jessie to relax her hand that laid on Alice's cheek was left to wonder if chosen .
Her hand glided down to the girls neck her fingers wondered threw the ribboning hair. To lay onto the others shoulder.
She peered at the Icy spirits eyes. They didn't seem dark or annoyed. She seemed better then before, as far as comfort. Yet uneasy in a way. " Tell me what you want....i. ..just want to help you."

It had only be but a few seconds before she had offered what could assumed as a neutral stance on the situation, but she felt like she wanted to push her partner away when her hand began moving again. This time down her neck to stop at her shoulders. Alice's eyes narrowed again like an irritated feline, beginning to become frosted over with their usual malice.
Then came an interesting phrase. Of a desire to help. Though what was there to help? The spider's only reaction had been tensing at every little touch. There were no vulnerabilities present in her being to be smoothed out. Every touch was like a burn to her, burns that couldn't hurt because of her bodily condition that allowed no sense of pain. Spiders just simply weren't meant to be caressed and touched. Tamed tarantulas maybe, but not a widow such as she.
"Being touched is not a spider's direct comfortability, miss McKnight." She'd finally found her voice after that long while of lost composure. It was a little icier than before and held the same authority. "Spiders-- no, widows have no high desire for the contact."
The snowy spider had frosted her icy guard back up to its natural fullest. She'd found her position in her web again, and had posied once more, fangs having flashed another time that day slightly.

Each word meant something, and each sentence the other spoke had truth woven into it. Jessie knew this. Yet she was conflicted, she never met someone like Alice, everything was so cold .... Like a frozen figure Alice was hidden again. The spider had crawled inter the ice, sealing the crack with web.
She hadn't been pushed to fall but she was left to be forever tangled in web. Jessie was in a loss of what to do. She only wanted to help, yet how can you help when she didn't understand the very person you want to help.
Pulling away she felt her hand leave the frosted porcelain skin, the same frosted skin left her side. " we should go... Its getting late. "
She didn't wait for a response. It was her turn to quicken a ending of practice. " I am sorry we never really danced.. Maybe we can do some in a day or so... We should probably meet in the theater again, less distractions."
She was lost in the storm she had caused.

Alice could still feel the burning warmth of the boyish girl's hand long after it left her face. Ever her palm that had been in contact with the girl's side prickled with the same feeling. Every fiber in her body relaxed now that the physical contact had dispersed. It had been kind of an uncomfortable experience for the snowy spider.
An apology was spoken next as well as a suggestion to meet once more in the theater. It was getting late. Perhaps close to curfew by now. Alice was almost relieved by it. She needed time to think. To sort through the storm that had been stirred up today. She hasn't expected anything like that to had occurred. They hadn't practiced either.
Jessie seemed lost. Tangled perhaps. Alice took little note of it. After what had occurred today, she just want to hide away to think for a while.
"It's alright." She offered, her voice still laced with the same unrelenting ice.
She left it there and made her way elegantly back to the shore. Once on dry land, the spider gathered her clothes and began to slip them on. She hadn't gone too far into the water, so she hadn't gotten that wet except for her lower half. Buttoning her long-sleeve undershirt, she left her vest off, instead choosing to hold it over her shoulder with an angled wrist. Not looking back at her partner, she merely gave a flick of a free hand accompanied with a few words of departure:
"I will be seeing you then, miss McKnight."
That was all she gave.
