The edge of the sparkling water of Maiden Park's vast lake was dyed in a deep purple. Not the water itself, or course, but rather, the organic reflection. A girl enflamed by a rich caramel skin, a veil of purple hair, and a pair of emerald eyes moved in strange, incongruous forms across the rippling surface. Above the ghostly reflection hung the watchful iris of the nearly full spring moon. Its warm silver glow bathed each undulating crest of water in a sparkling crown of light. They sloshed noiselessly against a pair of trembling caramel legs.
The end of a pale pink nightgown hung in a bundled clump high above the water's greedy reach. It occasionally swirled upward in the cool night wind , propelling it higher, yet not quite high enough as to preserve modest innocence. Sun kissed fingers pinned the fabric against both pairs of quivering legs and the slightest form of an inquisitive whimper slipped past coral pink lips. The water was rather cold for a night's visit to the large lake, but Lumi had had her reasons for seeking its liberating chill. She had dozed off not too long ago into a light sleep, one that would come to be corrupted by a nightmare of the inferno that ravaged her family two years ago. She was a peculiar dreamer, as she felt everything she came into contact with or touched while in the surreal world. That meant fire. And in the recesses of her hypersensitive dreamworld, it had burnt.
Haunted by the realistic nightmare, she had escaped to the lake in an attempt to cool herself from the imaginary flames. Now chilled, she felt a little more relaxed, but her eyes still held pent-up tension. No good... Though maybe it would be best if I just stayed out here for a while... Lumi shook her head to recompose herself and focused on her moonlit reflection. What a beautiful night... So peaceful and quiet. Yet...almost lonely. Though who am I to deserve company of any sort? Especially now in this state... If someone came along, she would quickly pull herself together and veil the true reason of her what could be called slightly crazy trek out into the cold lake at night, but who would be wandering around in the middle of the night in the park anyways? Now that she thought of it, the idea kind of concerned her. Oh well. At least it was a beautiful night.
