The woman seemed surprise, and offered a proceeding smile that appeared almost forced. Lumi assumed that is most likely was. “I understand, Officer Braum.” Purple curls bobbed in a tight, fanned out wave as she bowed her head in acknowledgment. Officer Braum’s reaction had startled her to a degree. Though she kind of was starting to expect nothing less in comparison to the woman’s stern personality. Not that that was in any way impounding, however. Lumi would never permit herself to state such a remark.
The dorms were soon almost in view; the stately roof peeking out from over the surrounding trees like an elevated shadow. Lumi’s footsteps slowed upon the sight. It was almost time the two parted ways. Had she left a good impression on the officer? Most likely not, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t keep an open-mind. After all, who could forget such an embarrassing encounter with a klutzy, foolish, strange girl as herself? Something about that brought a blight of insecurity to surface within her. She brushed it away and cast a directionless glance at the woman, a gentle smile tugging at her sun-kissed lips.
“We are almost at the dorms now, Officer Braum.” She stated quietly. She wondered if perhaps the officer would be relieved to get away from her. Perhaps. Still, she was interested on how her impression would play out.
(I'm sorry this took so long!)

Eva had followed the girl and as the dorms came into view she looked to them with about as much excitement as she showed when she first got to the school. Her face kept her usual cold stare stained upon it as she looked about taking in the scenery to ensure she would not get lost again. She looked to the girl and nodded in appreciation of the girls assistance before walking forward but then something happened. She didn't really notice but she had caught a crack in the walkway hit the tip of her shoe and she found herself quickly falling to the floor. She tried to reach out but it was to late and she smacked her face right into the stone floor. She didn't remain there long as she quickly pushed herself up, her nose was bleeding and she tried to sniffle back tears from pain but she then quickly stood up and ran off towards the dorms hoping to not be seen in such a state by the girl she was with though it was almost impossible not to notice it. She took off so quickly that she didn't even realize her glasses had fallen off of her face and landed at Lumi's face, they were in plain sight to the girl.

There were no words of verbal response from the officer. Just that icy gaze the student had come to be familiar with and a seemingly gracious nod. It appeared as if this was the end of their encounter. Lumi watched the woman take a few parting steps forward, only to find herself rigid in unfamiliar shock as Officer Braum suddenly stumbled and smashed face-first into the ground. The expression of shock failed to fully link with her visage, though the confines of her lavender eyes had stretched far beyond their normal arch at the sight. Was she hurt? Bleeding? Both?
Concerned emerald orbs were trained on Officer Braum as she collected herself. Sure enough, there was blood there. Fresh and streaming from her nose. Was it just her imagination, or were there tears present as well? A sniffle shuddered from the woman, and the bold, closed-off Officer Braum she knew just a second ago crumbled. Before the student could even fully react to the situation, the young adult fled in the direction of the dorms.
Lumi failed to call after her. While she desperately worried about the officer's well-being, she feared that if she pursued her, it might only upset her. Something suddenly glinted at her feet and the girl unlocked her rigid knees to retrieve it. A pair of glasses flared up at her. Were they Officer Braum's? She didn't recall seeing the woman with her glasses when she ran off, so she assumed rightfully so. She'd surely have to return these to her. Lumi cleaned them with a gentle rub of her sleeve and shifted her gaze back to the dorms. Perhaps their little encounter wasn't over just yet.

Eva ran as fast as she could with almost inhuman speed, she tore across the walkways and quickly disappeared into the confines of the dorm but then was struck with a sudden realization. "Wh...which room is mine?...." she sputtered as she know knew she had nowhere to hide. She quickly began to try doors that she knew didn't belong to anyone hoping to find something, anything she could hide away in and collect herself but the more locked doors she found the more she seamed to break down and became more hectic in her search. She eventually found and unlocked door, a janitorial closet that she quickly opened but accidentally dropped her bag to the floor. She grasped for it as she began to hear footsteps but was to late as she saw a figure come around the corner and slammed the door shut leaving her bag behind as she held the knob to keep it closed. She could feel her self be taken hold of by her sadness as tears well'd up in her eyes and she tried to keep herself from crying as she feel to her knees. "Jus.....just great...." she sputtered out. "Day one and...and your already crying in...in a closet...." Her entire life seemingly flashing and compounding the current emotional attack she was having. "Why am I always just so useless..." she spoke more loudly then before but it was still quite.

A door slammed shut in her peripherals just as Lumi rounded a corner in the meek beginning of her search. What was that? She was about to brush it off as nothing more than a student down the hall, but dashed the certainty when her eyes latched onto a familiar bag. Was Officer Braum perhaps behind that door she barely had seen; but heard; be closed? That bag was clearly hers, so it was a liable possibility. Lumi approached the object in almost complete silence. If Officer Braum was indeed behind that door, there was no guarantee what state she would be in after she fled, though the girl assumed she would probably be crying and upset. It probably wasn’t the best idea to pursue her, but, despite her lack of honest facial expression, the purple haired girl was concerned for the officer. She positioned herself up against the wall parallel to the door after moving the bag aside, emerald eyes fixated on the knob. Assuming the woman was probably holding the door shut, she skipped making an attempt to open it altogether. The girl lingered in the tense silence in an almost lethargic strategy before allowing her soft tone to shatter its presence.
“Officer Braum…?” She called quietly, folding her arms in front of her in a relaxed manner. If there was one thing the strange girl had most, it was a seemingly endless supply of patience. “Officer Braum, are you alright?”

Eva heard the faint voice of Lumi who had obviously followed her but Eva just pulled a single hand from the knob and covered her mouth in hope to remain silent but this was causing her to freak out a little more. "No, no, no I cant have a student see me like this. Ive only been here a day." she thought to herself as she remained silent though the light was on in the closet and anyone outside could tell that something was obstructing the light at the bottom of the door. "What should i do? What should I do?" she thought this over in her head as she tried to react to the situation but decided that remaining silent was the best option.
(Sorry for the short reply)

Emerald eyes washed jadedly over the knob. Something nagged at the girl that the woman had withdrawn from it, but even so, she kept herself fixated in her spot like a poker-faced manikin. The only emotion that riddled her caramel features was the soft overtone of concern. It probably wasn’t best to open the door without the distressed officer’s consent, so she would wait patiently until she opened the door herself.
“I know you might not wish for my presence at this moment, but I am concerned for your well-being, Officer Braum.” The student felt like she was talking to nothing but the door itself. Though behind this door was a person, a person of which the interior light of the closet betrayed. “However, if you find it suitable I leave, I will...”
There was a pause, and in that pause Lumi cast a glance down at the pair of glasses she clenched gently in a tan hand. She had found the woman to be quite peculiar. Cold and icy, with perhaps a bit of warmth bordering on a jagged ridged of cruelty. Misunderstood, maybe. But yet in this situation Lumi perceived her as perhaps a bit insecure. It stirred a light sympathy within the internally monotonous girl.
“And…I don’t think that you are useless, Officer Braum.” That last remark had been stated a bit quietly, referring to the soft murmur about always being useless she had heard from the woman just a few seconds ago. It felt almost alien for the girl to state a personal opinion - for that was far out of her obedient, respectful norm. But it was honest, she thought, at least. Without the aid of Officer Braum, after all, she probably wouldn’t have made it down safely from that tree.
(That's alright)

Eva had listened to what the student had to say and knew what she was trying to help but in the end all it did was make her feel like a child, as if she wasn't worth the time she was being given. "Why is she the one being the adult here when that's what i'm supposed to be?" she thought to herself before doing all she could to fix herself and calm down. She stood up and straightened herself out before reaching to push her glasses up the bridge of her nose to find them missing. She sighed and then shook her head before opening the door to the student out there. "What are you talking about?" she asked now calm and returned to her usual cold state. "I was.... I was just inspecting this closet for any form of security risks is all." She lied to the student to attempt and keep an image that had long been shattered. "By chance have you see...." she began to mutter before seeing her glasses. "Ah you have.... may I have them back?" She asked with a slight blush.

The woman soon opened the door – she didn’t appear to be crying anymore, to her relief – and murmured a lie that almost made the girl laugh. She would have, but the presence of a lighthearted smile had already occupied her tan lips. The icy image of the officer she had become acquainted with had been restored. Well, partially. “Of course you were.” She responded honestly to the lie in her usual soft tone. Though a small uplift of a corner of her lips betrayed that she had perceived its falsehood. Officer Braum next mentioned her glasses, a faint blush painting her face, and emerald orbs flickered to the optical aid protruding from a gently closed hand. This whole encounter had been quite a peculiar one, she had to admit. Just a while ago she was stuck in the confines of a tree with her glasses lost far below, only to have the officer return them. And now here she was returning the glasses of the woman who had helped her retrieve her own. Whether chance or simple coincidence, it enthralled her, nonetheless.
“Yes, you may." With the start of a warm smile, the student handed the officer her glasses, trying to make sure that she did not accidently touch Officer Braum while doing so as to not upset her. If she did, though, it was by pure accident.

Eva looked the young girl over and could tell she could see right through her but it would not stop her from trying to keep up her facade. Eva tried her best to show a look of annoyance to the student but could not keep it up, She sighed somewhat distraught in the situation and she just covered her blind eye up with a hand, something she did whenever she was embarrassed. She took the glasses in her own hand but found a surprising sensation as she grabbed them, the students own hand touched her. The girls skin was quite soft and it made Eva feel even more embarrassed before gently pulling her hand away. "Im.... Im sorry.... Im not much of an adult now am I." She sighed before shouldering her bag and pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose. The thought of feeling someone elses hand on her own, something she hadn't felt in age. She had not felt the touch of another in a long time and just the simple act of touching her hand caused her mind to spiral. "th...tt.tt.t....thank you..." she stuttered keeping her eye covered.

“Perhaps, but by default, you are more of one than I, Officer Braum.” The student reassured. Officer Braum seemed borderline flustered at this point; having failed to maintain her icy front and perhaps a product of coming into contact with the girl’s accidental touch. Whatever the cause, this blight of embarrassment had caused the woman to veil her white eye. Lumi assumed the pale orb was sightless. Not that that optical blight bothered her in any way; she found the officer’s contrasting eyes to actually be quite unique, though one lacked sight. Everyone had their imperfections and scars, and it was important to respect that. Even if the owner of said characteristics was insecure about them.
“My pleasure, Officer Braum.” A soft smile tugged at the edges of girl’s caramel lips, and her tight purple curls bounced as she performed a mild bow. When she rose from its subtle arch, her vibrant eyes flickered to the officer’s hand which covered her eye. Officer Braum had proved to be a unique individual. Maybe a little rough around the edges at times, but only to protect the cold guard she seemed to strive so passionately to sustain. She wasn’t all that bad of a person. In fact, she wasn’t a bad person in Lumi’s opinion at all. Maybe just a little distrusting of others, but that was common among people.
“Please excuse my inconvenient opinion, Officer Braum, but there is no need to hide that eye of yours.” She started softly, permitting the corners of her frozen lips to uplift into a warmer smile. Again, she had allowed herself to state an open opinion. It was still out of her characterized norm, but yet again she had let one slip. “It’s not at all unsightly to me.”

Eva pressed her hand against her eye more tightly as it was mentioned and then looked to the student somewhat fearful, she knew she should wear a patch over it but thought it would stand out more. She also once tried contacts to hide the discoloration but it caused her severe pain so that wouldn't work either. She knew that the eye was easily noticeable and feared how the students would speak of her, how they would gossip and tell tales. She was worried that the student before her was genuinely honest but that she would tell her friends who might not be. "P.....please d...don't mention my eye to anyone ok?" she asked in a completely different tone from earlier. The cold heavy voice she originally addressed Lumi with was replaced with one filled with fear but somehow appeared cute as well. Eva didn't wait for a response before quickly changing the subject. "W...were is this room?" she asked, stern once more as she handed Lumi the paper.

Fear was prevalent in the officer’s eyes. It was clear that any matter concerning that eye alarmed her. Lumi couldn’t draw to a conclusion as of why at first, but at deeper thought surfaced the possibility of true fear. Fear of being pointed at and disfigured by the possibly harmful words of others that looked upon the sightless eye. Officer Braum was insecure about it to the point of fear, she concluded, and it brought on a sympathy that flashed briefly across her frozen features. The woman next addressed her in a tone that Lumi almost found a bit endearing; though she would be ridiculed to openly admit it. She beamed a softer smile of reassurance.
“I will do nothing of the sort, Officer Braum, that I can assure you.” She paused for a moment then continued, “I have not a soul to tell.” The words were genuine and honest. Lumi had no friends as of the current moment. Specifically, she had had no time to venture out and meet any of the beautiful roses that crowned the school, let alone deemed herself worthy to even be in their radiant presence. The officer had been the first person she had encountered at Astrea so far. Still, she wouldn’t dare tell anyone even if she had a friend to tell.
A paper was handed to her, and she received it with a gracious bow, acknowledging that the woman’s stern tone had returned. She wasn’t too enlightened about a great deal of locations yet, but knew enough at the present time to locate a select certain ones. She was sure she had seen this specific one before. “Ah, this one? It’s on the second floor, I believe, just a few doors down on the…right-hand side.” She explained softly.

Eva nodded as she slowly lowered her hand throughout all of Lumi's explanations revealing her eye bit by bit, still worried about the students own thoughts. She now understood that she wasn't the only new person to this campus and felt kinda bad for dragging the poor girl around with her for her own gain. "I...Im sorry to bother you with this but could you jus....just show me were it...it is?" She had a blush on her cheeks from how embarrassing the situation was but she was also trying to be as kind as she could towards the girl even though she was so worried. "I...I..... thank you...." she murmured out as she hoped she wasn't coming across as odd. (Your much better then me at this and I can never seem to be as good as a word smith as you )

Lumi’s smile only softened as Officer Braum slowly withdrew her hand from her eye. There really was no need to hide it, especially in front of her, for she didn’t find it an unsightly blight in the least. Just another defining characteristic that should be respected. The amount of blush layering the woman’s face increased when she requested the girl’s assistance once more. Lumi had already assumed she would have to show her its location, but nodded in acknowledgment nonetheless. “It’s not a bother at all, Officer Braum. I will gladly assist you.” She relayed with a slight bow. There was a kinder chord about the woman presently. A heavy sense of worry seemed to still linger, although it appeared to have eased a little. The woman was obviously very insecure about that eye.
“You’re quite welcome.” In truth, the verbal statement of gratitude had shocked Lumi a little. She hadn’t really expected the officer to express any sort of open gratitude towards her through that cold guard. But that guard appeared to have been shattered long ago, if only just in the slightest, though shards of its wall remained here and there. The student adjusted her glasses before proceeding down the hall, softly calling for Officer Braum to follow. The room wouldn’t be too far away, nor would it take very longer to get there. Their encounter seemed to be coming to its end. Hopefully she had left a good impression… “If you may please excuse another of my inconvenient opinions, Officer Braum, that eye is nothing to be guarded about. It’s just as nice as your other one.” Another opinion had slipped out. Another crack in the etiquette of her flowering mask. She chastised herself mentally for being so open. Her opinions weren’t very important, were they?
