"Of course, I'd be glad to have your help, I expect I'll need it and a lot more by the time voting season comes around. I'll definitely keep you in my mind." She felt the other girl's arm come around her which, to be fair, was well deserved even if it did make her feel like a bit of a little kid. "Eeyuck. That's just gross." She shook her head. "Don't like that image in my head."
Gilda brought the photo back down and looked at it. "Don't be silly, I'm the one on..." she paused and squinted at the picture. "the left maybe? It doesn't matter." She put it away. "Point is, I'm the prettiest unicorn and she's the prettiest cow." She met Zephyra's gaze and smiled. "Well we'll have to disagree about sticking out but I bet you get all sorts of lucky breaks because of your height. I'd happily take two feet off you but as for trading bodies, no way." She smiled and thumped her chest with a fist. "I'll stay the prettiest unicorn, thank you very much. You aren't getting this rare beast that easily."

A lopsided smirk tipped up the first year's lips as she nodded, but it wasn't long before she was chuckling once more. "I had to ask." A perfectly sculpted eyebrow lifted as she grinned down to her green haired friend. "So.. you can't even tell yourself apart from her? How amusing." Mirth reflected in the dark crimson pools that were half lidded. "I suppose I'll have to meet her in person to be able to distinguish the two of you apart. And, I'll make sure not to say anything about you calling her a cow. I'd like to survive our first meeting."
The snicker that barely parted her lips hissed through her teeth with a soft 'schick-schick' before she looked back to the lake just as a swan set its wings to land on the calm surface. "That's really too bad. My dream of being a unicorn crushed. What would this giraffe have to do to change your mind?"

Gilda smiled, she was quite enjoying her time with the tall Miator. She was quick on the uptake certainly. "I've never needed to tell the difference, I'm the one right here and she's the one not. Unless she's not." Gilda waggled her fingers and made a spooky ghost noise. "Anyway, there is one super simple trick to telling us apart." She smiled at Zephyra. "But I'm not going to tell you what it is." Gilda smiled smugly. "You'll just have to figure it out for yourself."
Gilda pulled away and walked over to the bench. She hopped up onto the bench and sat on the back rest again. "There's nothing you can do, unless you were a girrafficorne...Uniraffe...Gira..."She threw her hands up into the air. "The whole joke works better as a picture in my head." Gilda shrugged and hooked her feet between the backrest and seat of the bench so she could lean back without completely falling off the bench. "So what's up with you? You've got any brothers or sisters?"

"I'll count that as a challenge and readily accept." Her right hand curled into a fist by her chest and she beamed a smile of pearly whites. A challenge was something Zephyra could never pass up. The exhilaration and thought process needed for such things were an addiction for her. Whether it be a physical challenge or mental.
The redhead almost frowned at the loss of contact, but gave a slight shake of her head against the confusion of such feelings and turned to watch the green haired girl settle on the bench. She then moved to one end and pressed her hip against the side of the back rest. "I am just fine being a regular, ol' giraffe." Her arms crossed comfortably over her chest, trying to hide her grin, but a quiver of her lip gave it away. "I'm sure it was.." The once amused expression on her face completely vanished at the questioning about her family. Zeph had known it would come up eventually, but it didn't mean she was happy to speak of it. "I'm an only child. My mother died shortly after my birth and my father never remarried. His nose has been stuck to far into his company to take any notice of women." Or me.. Her brain added, but she didn't let the words pass her lips. She didn't want to be pitied. The only thing worse than being ignored was to be pitied. "I envy you. I wish I had a sibling."

"Oh please, don't settle for regular and plain when you can be so much more. I beg you, it's only lowering yourself and even if you don't want to ascend, never descend." Gilda's tone became far more serious. "If you even start looking downwards it could lead to a spiral tumble to oblivion that you'll never crawl out of, and you'll doom your descendants to desperate flailing and clawing to get out of the muck." She clenched her teeth. "It's not fair to them so you must never go downwards." As suddenly as the cloud had come, it was gone and Gilda brightened up.
"I'll trade you my brother. He's a real jerk sometimes. Always getting into my stuff and poking around where he shouldn't. Just give me the address and you'll get a nice big box in a bow." She started to lean forward and backward slowly, her feet still anchored in the bench. "He'll give you attention, won't stop ever like a whiny, needy little puppy dog. But disgusting and sticky and weird. Smells like a dog too." She laughed loudly.

Zephyra couldn't help but smile as Gilda began to rant, her look turning serious, which only made her smile all the more. ".. How can I refuse if you beg?" She tilted her chin up and closed her eyes. "I suppose I just don't see anything special in myself to make me any better than any other regular person. Of course, being around you could change that as well. Miss High Horse." The girl peaked open an eye to glance at Gilda.
"How old is he? I'm pretty sure they don't allow you to ship humans through luggage in a plane. It's fairly dangerous." She raised her hand to giggle into her palm. "A good bath could fix most of those problems in no time. Hopefully, it isn't as bad as I imagine. Wolf Hounds can carry a very.. tangible odor after a run through the Moors. I stay as far away from the kennels after my father and his friends return from a hunt. It's enough to turn your stomach when the dogs are thirty feet away, let alone close."

"Good, you'll do well to follow my advice. So would most people in this school. Of course that's why I'm going to become President." Gilda looked over at Zephyra and looked her up and down again. "Well you should look more often. Maybe we'll need to get you a better mirror." Gilda turned her gaze back to the lake. "And if you insist on being blind, I'll drag you up to my level because I'm the highest unicorn and I see better than anyone."
"He's 10, and I'll find a way if I have to. It'd be well worth the effort to get rid of the little snot." she sneered a little, "Eeyuck. I don't even want to think about bathing the brat." She brightened up at the mention of dogs and kennels. "You had dogs? I wish I had a dog. A wolfhound sounds so noble and proud. That would be amazing. You could have it sit at your side while giving speeches, follow you down the streets like a security team, oh it's just dreamy." She disappeared into a fantasy for a moment and the dog in her fantasy looked nothing like a wolfhound.

"A high horse on the top of Mount Everest." She chuckled softly and settled onto the bench, allowing Gilda to be of taller height, so she had to tip her head back a bit to see the girl's face. "Yes, of course. Perhaps someday, I will see the world a little more like you do. You're so optimistic." Zephyra lifted a hand to casual brush back her waist length locks from her face then drew the bundle over her shoulder so the tips would brush against the skirt of her uniform.
"I'd just let him run loose in the stables then send him home smelling even worse than before." She chuckled at the thought of what the stable hands would do if a ten year old was running about in their midst. "At least he wouldn't have as much energy to go through your stuff?" Her slender frame shifted so that one ankle could cross behind the other and her hands folded in her lap, the picture of a perfect lady. "They are my father's dogs. They stay in the kennels. He doesn't allow them in the house. I was never allowed to play with them. Except for one of the runts. He finally gave in after I snuck the pup into the house on multiple occasions. Shiobhan. I couldn't ask for a better dog.. He's probably wondering where I am right now. What would be your idle pet?" Questioning crimson hues turned upon her new found friend.

"Optimistic, yeah, I guess I am, I'd say I'm idealistic though. Also confident. Probably proud, definitely beautiful. There are lots of words to describe me. Frankly we need more words in more languages to describe me." She smiled and leaned back again. Gilda exhaled and leaned back until she was straight. "Eventually the whole world is going to have to praise me, or at least give me a few adjectives."
"Well he'd be your brother so whatever you like. And he's got so much energy I don't think anyone could tire him out. We entire countries could harness him and power the moon or whatever." She thought about the pet question for a moment. "I guess it would be a dog. I mean, what is more noble or loyal? Plus a lot of places have to let them stay with you so it's like all perfect."
Suddenly Gilda's shoe gave up the tension and slipped out of the bench and her other foot came uot right after. She barely had time for a cry before her back hit the ground. The force had also taken off her other shoe which landed several feet away from the bench. "Ow." She said and sat up, rubbing her head. "That hurt."

Zeph gave a soft chuckle. "Then why not create your own adjectives? If it is something people only relate to you, wouldn't it be far better?" Her head fell back so it was resting against the back of the bench and she slowly closed her eyes when a ray of sunlight splashed warmth over her cheek. Only then did she realize it was a bit chilly out and goosebumps rose on the skin beneath her uniform. Another laugh rumbled in her throat and an eye barely opened to look at the horizontal form of the girl. "Well then. I think I'll let you keep him. I don't have the patience to deal with that much energy, let alone focus it on a task. That sounds practically impossible."
Both of her eyes flashed open at the cry and she jerked forward before twisting to look at Gilda. "You okay? Don't sit up yet, lay back down." The redhead moved around the bench and dropped next to her friend, giving her shoulders a gentle push. "You're not supposed to move after you've smacked your head." Her eyebrows knit together with worry and she glanced around as if searching for help, but alas there was no one and she turned serious crimson hues on the first year before her. "Do you need an icepack?"

Gilda sat up anyway, ignoring the warnings. "That stuff's for like if they broke their neck or something. I'm fine, really." She rubbed the back of her head. "But you know, if you insist on having me lay down, I'd need somewhere soft to lay my head." Gilda smiled at Zephyra. "You could lend me your lap, you know, if you're serious about having me lie down longer." Gilda tried to look innocent, she didn't try very hard.
"Oh dear, my poor head." She put her hand to her head overdramatically. "The suffering of having my head exposed to the firm ground or cool air is too much for me to bear. Please be kind to a poor pitiful soul in pain and misery." Gilda slightly opened her eyes to gauge Zephyra's reaction.

The Miator student watched on incredulously, her lips slightly parted and 'brows barely lifted. This girl really was too much, but instead of moving away from her the redhead shifted. Hands smoothed over her skirt, so that it was wrinkle free when she settled on the leaf strewn ground. The sight that greeted the doe eyed girl when she opened them was Zeph straightening her skirt and glancing to her with a soft smile. A single hand gently patted her own lap while the other was held out in her direction. "What are friends for, aye?"
A cute pink hue covered the girl's face and she ducked her head a bit so silken locks could cover the expression. This was all so new to her she wasn't even sure to react. This was friendship right? Giving someone a shoulder, er.. lap to lean on when they're troubled. Of course, perfectly normal.

Gilda rolled over to Zephyra and snuggled her head into the perfect position for maximum comfort on her lap. "Thanks Zephyra, you're fantastic." She smiled up at the other girl then frowned. "Hey now, don't be doing that." She reached up with both hands and carefully moved Zephyra's hair out of her face, her fingers lightly brushing against the other girl's cheeks. "If I wanted to stare at a great big hunk of hair, I'd stick my head in my sister's box of wigs." Gilda smiled up at the girl. "There, that's better."
Gilda crossed her hands over her stomach and crossed her legs. "You've got such a pretty face and as nice as your hair is, when you hide your face you're going down that ladder." Gilda closed her eyes and relaxed. "I could fall asleep, you're very comfortable, did you know that? Like the best sort of pillow."

"I know." She piped, trying to act confident, but it practically came out a whisper. Zeph smiled softly and felt her cheeks grow warmer but all that came from her parted lips was a very intelligent, "Uh.." Unsure what to do with herself the redhead remained perfectly still, allowing the other to rest after saying her peace. "I am glad I can accommodate you, Gilda. I was not aware that my lap was that comfortable, as I am not a contortionist and can't lay my head in my own lap." Her grin slowly grew and she lifted a hand to push her unruly locks behind her ears once more.
"So.. Gilda. What do you plan to do for Lá Samhna? Is it.. Halloween here? I've never been to a celebration. Not that it would be all that great since it's just a bunch of farmers sitting around a bonfire.." Her nose wrinkled in distaste.

"Well that's good, I don't really feel like sharing your lap." Gilda laughed. "But that would be wild, being that flexible. There are some crazy contortionist people in the world, I've seen some really weird pictures like you wouldn't believe. It's like the freak shows from old time circuses when people would be standing on their own head or weird stuff like that. It's just totally like their bones are made of rubber. Super creepy."
Gilda thought about the halloween question for a few moments of silence. "I don't know. It's probably halloween because of the americans but it might be just a harvest festival. I know my sister will want to dress up in some crazy costume or outfit which means I'll have to as well. I figure I'll just let her choose for me again. If the school is doing something I'll probably go to that. I'm sure it will be lots of fun, you're bound to enjoy it."
