Hair Color: A shade of purple that's borderline pink in certain lighting.
Hairstyle: Esther's hair falls all the way to mid-back when allowed to hang unimpeded. For day to day wear she lets it do just that, sometimes with a red or white hairband to keep stray locks from impairing her vision. When doing anything athletic she'll pull it into a ponytail or bun out of practicality.
Eye Color: Darker shade of purple than her hair, more like violet.
Height: 5'1"
What kind of clothes does you character wear when she's not in uniform? Despite the athletic training she's undergone and still undertakes, Esther prefers pretty girly clothing. Shorter skirts, feminine tops, anything with a bit of lace or frill is her style of clothing. A normal outfit will be some sort of skirt and top combo in softer colors, possibly with leggings as well, along with comfortable athletic shoes. She also adores clip-on earrings and has several pairs she likes to coordinate with her wardrobe.

Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more: Esther is fairly emotionally torn on how she should act with others, and this informs her personality. On the one hand she's used to being defensive and confident around people in order to assert herself enough that she doesn't get picked on. This is more learned than natural, however, and she's much gentler and soft deep inside. Which Esther should show herself at a given moment is always a concern for the purplenette. As a compromise she typically carries herself with confidence but is incredibly soft spoken. No matter how tough she might have become she's generally afraid of raising her voice too much; bad things happen when you raise your voice. At times she has problems with her temper, and this can lead to somewhat rash behavior as a result.
Quiet as she is Esther is diligent and hard working, stubborn enough to see through her goals to the end. She's not very talkative but she does try to make friends despite a nagging concern that she might be picked on again. Helping others is really important to her, partly in the hope that she'll be praised for her assistance. This extends to authority figures as well - on the one hand she resents those who come off a little too stern, but on the other she desperately seeks the affirmation of their praise. With what's happened so far in her life, she needs both to truly find herself and find someone she can latch onto amidst a sea of uncertainty and troubles.
What does you character think of the Etoile position as a whole? Giving someone an example to follow is a wonderful idea in theory. You need a heroine to look up to and model yourself after when you're growing up, and the Etoiles generally embody the schools of Astraea Hill well. So long as the Etoiles are worthy it's truly the shining star of the campus.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday? Understanding what it means to her, Esther knows she'd have a long road to being worthy of Etoile. On the other hand she is fueled by the passions of duty to be a better example than she who was just elected Etoile before Esther transferred in.
What does your character think ofthe current etoiles? Ayuki is a very cute girl who reminds Esther of herself in her quiet nature. Why she should choose to pair herself with someone like her partner is a mystery to the purplenette. Akemi Aracelli is a complete phony who bring shame to the name of athletics, no matter what title she might grace herself with. To be blunt, Esther isn't a fan of the seme Etoile.
What does your character think of the other schools? Esther is very happy that she's going to school at LeRim because Miator frankly scares her a bit. Mostly it's the traditionalist mindset that accompanies the femininity she'd otherwise be at home with. Stern rules really don't make her feel comfortable. Spica is too focused on sports for her tastes, as she'd rather distance herself from athletics a bit. Girls who do attend those schools aren't bad because of those traits though she does feel sorry that they won't have quite the freedom LeRim offers.
~History~
History before Astraea Hill: Esther Goldberg is a very strange girl to be attending a Catholic school in Japan, having been raised very far away near the Mediterranean Sea. She's aware that she was born to a surrogate mother since she grew up in a family with two fathers, but for a long time only knew that much. Growing up in Israel, both her fathers had served in the military as per national law. One had been discharged after an incident that saw his vocal chords destroyed in an attack, so she was used to a very quiet home overall. Learning sign language was important to basic daily activities. As children are wont to do, classmates ended up teasing her about her family; her other father, at the time still actively serving, insisted she get tough so that people wouldn't bully her. He had her take lessons from a friend who'd been an Olympic-style wrestler, and she took to them with enthusiasm thanks to how empowering it made her feel. Not satisfied with that, dad pushed her harder and harder and often had her undergo strange, rigorous exercises once he was discharged from the army. None of his strict behavior was intended to harm her but it did make Esther resent him just a bit. After winning a national competition she started competed in a tournament in Japan at her father's encouragement.
Over the course of a year her world fell apart. Her mute father contracted a disease which would take his life after five months of illness, at which point Esther started asking about her birth mother. All her living father had been able to tell her was the family name and that the family ran a shrine around a certain area. Then, during an emergency, he was called back into service and this took his life as well. Esther was crushed. No living relatives were in her homeland, but her father did have a cousin living in Japan. With her birth mother being Japanese as well Esther was sent overseas to attend school with her remaining family as support. Thankfully she'd learned the language well enough that getting into a school wasn't terribly difficult, though it took some doing to get the one she wanted. After arriving she spent a lot of time trying to hunt down her birth mother's family, with the uncle's help. Locating the most likely suspects and after calling them, she was determined to attend the same school. A sister went there, a big sister! Finally she'd have a sibling to hug! But after she passed the entrance exam and moved in, her uncle dropped off the radar. Though worried, she's been so occupied by classes that she didn't have time to look into it. Every day she didn't get to look for her big sister wore on her.. but she was determined to find her, and do something that was long overdue: give her the biggest hug ever.
Sample Post: It'd been a long and windy road to get this far but finally she stood at the gates of her new school. LeRim Academy, or whatever its full designation was, was beyond this structure ready to welcome her. At least she really hoped it was there to welcome her after everything the past year had brought her. Those troubles were past her. Esther had to focus on what lay before her for this coming year: her first at this school that was so well regarded by everyone she'd talked to. It had to be LeRim if she was going to attend school in Japan. Nothing else would suffice! A place where she could be more feminine without the constraints a more formal establishment would present to her. Really it was the uniform that had won her over in the end with all the little frills it had. The single greatest factor in her attending this place was that somewhere inside was the one person she thought might accept her fully with open arms. All these years she'd spent in a foreign land when a sister was alive and well in this place! Somewhere within was her big sister, her nee-nee, whom she intended to work hard to help in any way that she could. When she didn't work hard she lost people so it was really important to not mess it up. If her nee-nee rejected her Esther didn't know what she'd do.
"Nee-nee will understand," she told herself as the wind gently blew her hair over her shoulder, "Nee-nee will love me.." At that she picked up her bag and took the first crucial step inside the gates that lead to her future, and hopefully, her nee-nee.
