Hi,
I've been a member of this site since February 7th of 2010, and I grew here a lot in that time. I'd even argue that I've had an impact on keeping the place alive once or twice when it was dying. But that's not the important thing here. We aren't here for a history lesson. The topic says it all- I'm debating(not decided yet) on relieving myself of duty. I feel like my influence and usefulness to the site has passed, and the role would be better suited to others who are not only more active, but more enthusiastic. It's not an easy decision and I'm still trying to make it. This place gave me refuge from a lot of things and gave me a nice place to build my skills. But, as of right now I think I've reached that point where I'm an old man yelling at the kids across the street to get off my lawn, and that's about the content I produce here.
I'm aware of how out of nowhere this is coming from, and as I'm a professional I will not delve into details too deeply, but I will say that a mixture of personal issues, administrative disagreement, and general feelings of "it's time to pass the baton" have lead me to this. I very much still support SPRP and all it does, but I think it's time to move along. Make way for some new folks to test their hand at running things around here. I'm just not as active and by that extension as useful to keeping things organized and working around here. So, while I debate this a little more I'll probably be away from the site. The other mods, or at least a few of them, have access to me offsite and may discuss this with me if they wish. I just thought I should drop this down here as a sort of maybe goodbye, just in case, so that I wouldn't have to type it out again if I did make the decision and wound up feeling too emotional about it to be professional in my words.
Later for now,
-Zach
