When not in uniform, Kira usually wears a plaid flannel shirt with rolled up sleeves, and a tank top underneath. Combined with blue or black skinny jeans with black combat boots. Is your character on the Student Council? No
If yes, what does your character think of the student council president, Naomi Shizuoka? N/A
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Kira is very average. Her grades have never been the worst, but they are no where near respectable. This makes her very intimidated by more intelligent people. She tries her hardest in school, but is easy to say "I can't" and give up. She is easily flustered when she doesn't understand what someone is saying, and can't memorize facts, even if her life depended on it. She often has to write things down.
When it comes to making friends, Kira is never one to initiate it. She can barely ask a stranger for directions, let alone start up a conversation. She was raised in a seen-not-heard environment, and would rather die than say something stupid.
Despite having a hard time making friends, she is really nice once you get to know her. She is kind and caring, and tries to avoid making enemies. When she does have an enemy, the only thing that she can think to do is to avoid them completely.
She is a very good listener, but not very great at giving advise. She is used to people ranting and taking their anger out on her, even if she doesn't deserve it.
Kira really enjoys cooking and baking. She can almost never go wrong when given a recipe. When she gets comfortable, she can improvise and spice up any dish. The only time when she is really confident is when she is cooking.
What does you character think of the Etoile position as a whole?
She likes the idea of representing the entire school, but she never quite understood the romance that the Etolies are involved in.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday? She doesn't think that she's cut out to be one.
What does your character think of Maiko Suzumi and Kagami Hiruko, the current etoiles?
Kira doesn't know them very personally, but she really admires and respects the Etoiles. She finds Maiko to be extremely intimidating. She is so poised and elegant, while Kira is shy and casual. Not to mention Maiko's height is enough to make Kira feel like a bug. She has seen Kagami on her horse once and thought that she was so graceful. As much as she'd like to get to know them both, she has had a negative experience when it comes to the very popular.
What does your character think of the other schools?
She really loves how Spica teaches their students about individuality and independence. She also loves the traditions taught in Miator. She has yet to figure out the rivalry between the two.
~History~
Please write in 100 words or more your character's history before she came to Miator:
History before Astraea Hill:
Kira grew up with her father, mother, and younger brother, Kei. The night of Kira's birth, her father beat her mother for giving birth to a girl instead of a boy. From that moment, Kira was a disappointment.
Three years later, the family got a boy. From that moment, Kira didn't exist.
She tried her hardest to make her father proud, but nothing would change his mind. He believed that women are meant for one thing, and men are the ones who deserve respect.
Her mother loved her dearly, but wasn't allowed to show it. If she ever dared to encourage Kira in any way, she would expect beating that night. This means that her mother could only show her what women were supposed to do according to her father. Kira's mother helped her get interested in cooking, and she soaked it all up. It was the most attention that she could ever get from her mother. Kira only wishes that her mother showed off her cooking abilities to her father.
Kira's brother is extremely intelligent-almost a prodigy. Their father has invested all of his energy in making sure that his son had the best. However, Kei resents his father for mistreating his sister, who is his best friend. Kei tried his best to help his Kira with school, while Kira was always there to comfort her brother through everything else.
Kira's father was finally fed up with having a stupid girl as his first born, and wanted to disown her. He didn't want Kira to have a "negative" influence on Kei. As the last hope, Mother convinced him to send her to an all girl's academy, and they agreed on Astraea Hill. He took out a loan to afford tuition, and sent her on her own.
Kira didn't like the idea of leaving her mother and brother, and she wishes that she can take them both and get far away from her father together. Her brother promised to write to her every month. She hopes that going to this school means that she can make something of herself and to prove to her father that she isn't worthless.
First Year: She went to a public school, and didn't have any friends. Her grades started off alright, but began to slip when it got too difficult.
Second Year: Still at her old school, she made one friend. Her grades remained average.
Third Year: Kira's grades never improved. Her one friend turned on her in order to befriend a more popular girl, and she was once again alone.
Fourth Year: N/A
Fifth Year: N/A
Sixth Year: N/A
Sample Post:
It was one o'clock. Kira sat on the edge of her seat as the bus bumped and sputtered down the street. She lived only a little bit further from her destination than she liked, so she was forced to take public transportation to get her at least halfway there. She wished that her mother could drive her, but only her father was allowed to use the car, and her father had put her on her own. She was used to it by now.
It was only the beginning of Summer when she heard the news. Kira and her family were sitting at the dinner table.
"Kira," her mother spoke up, "Your father and I have some thing to tell you." Mother turned her head to Father, who returned a harsher look. So she was forced to continue. "We have decided to put you into Astraea Hill School this fall."
Kira looked up from her plate confused. Her family didn't have the money, nor was she smart enough to be accepted into such a prestigious school.
"How come?" Her brother, Kei, asked.
"Well...uh-"
"That girl is a disgrace to this family. I want her out of my house," Father interrupted Mother. His voice was calm, as if this was a fact. That Kira was worthless and her mother was to blame.
They've all accepted this as fact by now.
It was one-thirty. The bus let Kira off as far as it would take her. She had another mile to walk, but she was okay. She chose to leave as early as she could. She wanted to be away from her father almost as much as he wanted her out. Besides, she considered the time that could be wasted if she ever got lost-which she did frequently.
After a long mile of walking, she finally arrived at the gates of Astraea Hill. She wasn't quite sure what this meant for her future-failure, redemption, new beginnings-but she could only hope that it would work out for the best.
It was almost two o'clock. She was an hour early, and had not a single clue as to where her dorm was. She looked around to see if she could find directions to anywhere.
*Alright, I'm gonna have to ask for directions.* she thought. She looked around some more, but none of the faces seemed very friendly. The girls in black looked so elegant compared to her worn-out clothes. The girls in white looked so confident. The girls in pink looked nice, but they were so huddled together. Not very inviting to her.
*Nope. Nope nope nopenopenope. I'm just gonna find it myself.*
A half an hour later, she finally found what she thought was the building where she registered. She got her uniform, her room, and her schedule. The lady at the counter gave her directions to the Strawberry Dorms, and let her know that any nun would be happy to help her. That eased her nerves a bit.
She had fifteen minutes to change and meet with the Head Sister. She managed to find her room and used her new key to open the door.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" she was startled by the girl behind the door.
