Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Ruri is a very kind person, but she may not seem like it at first. Since she's so small, she often gets picked on or overlooked. To prevent this from happening, she tries to act tough to people she meets, but it isn't long before she starts being nice to them and trusts them completely. However, she still gets embarrassed about feelings of friendship and love, and blushes whenever things like that are brought up. In fact, she even pretends like she doesn't have feelings like this, but never really does a good job of it. In these types of situations, it's likely that she's going to become mad and start yelling and denying things for no reason. She's easy to see through, but pretends like she isn't. In short, she's a tsundere.
Despite her outer behaviour, she actually values the freinds she has more then anything else and doesn't know what she would do without them. When she really likes someone, she becomes soft spoken and timid, until she snaps out of it and becomes upset. Academically, she gets good grades and can normally help anyone who needs it. Besides this, she really likes to cook, and is on the swim team. She also likes anime and manga alot, but tries to keep this a secret since alot of people think that sort of thing is dumb.
What does you character think of the Etoile position as a whole?
It must be nice, to be so in love like that. Since she's so young, she still looks up to them.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday?
What?! No, that's ridiculous. Who cares about love, anyway?
What does your character think of Kagami Hiruko and Maiko Suzumi, the current etoiles?
Ruri doesn't know Kagami, but she's heard Maiko-oneesama saying really nice things about her, so she must be nice! She's really pretty, too.
As for Maiko, Ruri sees her in the hallways alot, and thinks she's really smart! She also helps people out alot, which is a really nice thing to do!
What does your character think of the other schools?
Hm, Ruri will always cheer for Miator in competitions, but she won't openly diss the other schools.
~History~
Ruri grew up in a house with both of her parents, and five sisters. Out of the five, she was the third youngest - the middle child. However, her parents gave her plenty of attention, not like the typical middle child stories you hear. Her older sisters were both very competitive, but they were an inspiration to Ruri, and she strived to be as good of a sister to her younger sisters (Ichigo and Manami) as her elder siblings (Kanako and Haruhi) were to her. Ruri has always been embarresed to show her affection for other people, that's just the way she is. This made her goal of being a good older sister a little difficult, but her younger sisters could still see that she cared and appreciated her.
So, she had a relatively normal childhood, except for her next door neighbors. The couple that lived next to the Izumi's was two lesbian women, raising a son. They were very well known in their neighborhood, but not well liked. Ruri grew up always seeing their house being egged, vandalized, and people yelling and shaming them in public. On two occasions, people had even accused Ruri's parents of raising their daughters to be lesbians, just because they lived next door. There were times when she would even hear her parents talking badly about these people, and Ruri grew up believing that they were bad - until she met her grandmother.
The family never talked about her mother's mother, in fact, Ruri and her sisters didn't even know they had a grandmother for a long time, until the eldest one, Kanako, started asking about it at the age of fourteen. Not being able to handle the pressure, their parents set up a meeting with the grandmother, dropping the kids off in the morning and picking them up after dinner. They themselves never stepped a foot out of the car. It turns out that their grandmother was a lesbian, and the sweetest woman Ruri had ever met. She couldn't understand why her parents didn't like homosexuals after realizing her grandmother was really nice, and when she got home, she went into a fit, demanding that her parents apologize and explain themselves. However, they couldn't be moved from their views, and Ruri, disgusted, asked to go to school at Miator, to become free of the negative enviornment.
Sample Post:
A piece of celery was lifted up from the plate in between two chopsticks, and raised to the little girl's mouth, who chewed on it carefully. It was was stir fry night, a dinner she particularly enjoyed, but her sisters, on the other hand...
Well, the older two were currently having a battle for the last piece of pork, chopstick against chopstick. Sparks flying, the two girls threw insults back and forth like it was their job, Ruri watching, amused, the entire time.
Next to her, Manami giggled. "They're so funny," she cooed. "They can have all the porks they want, 'cause I like leeks the most!" The six year old grinned, up at her sister, proudly showing off a piece of leek in between her chopsticks. Eating it quickly, she smiled at her favorite food, but looked at a loss when she realized...that had been the last leek on her plate! Her smile was quickly replaced by a frown, and it wasn't long before her bottom lip was quivering.
Sighing, Ruri picked up a puece of leek on her own plate and put it on her sister's. The already big eyes grew larger, lighting up with joy. "Really, onee-chan?! You're the best!"
Ruri quickky looked away, embarrassed by her sister's praise.
"I-It's not a big deal. Just eat it slower this time, ok?"
Manami nodded in determination, and proceeded to nibble on the vegetable.
Their parents had missed this whole encounter, instead too busy talking to themselves. As Ruri walked by to put her plate in the sink, she caught tidbits of the conversation.
"...Nasty...I saw them kissing in the yard this morning, with that son of theirs. I'm sure he's going to end up just like them."
"I heard that they were bring sued for public indecency."
Oh, they were talking about the neighbors again. This was something she had heard her parents talking about before, but Ruri just tried to ignore it. She saw all the people doing terrible things to the house, and didn't want to imagine her parents like that. But, if her mom and dad thought that two girls in love was bad, then it must be. So she didn't question it, never talked about. In her mind, lesbians were some terrible cult thst worshiped the devil or something equally as bad, and she accepted that. After all, adults were there to tell you what was right and wrong, and kids were there to listen. At least, that was what Haruhi had told her.
"Night," she called, before going upstairs.
