What kind of clothes does your character wear when she's not in uniform?
Itachi’s style really does depend on her mood. Most days, you’ll find her in a t-shirt and jeans simply because she can’t be bothered to dress up. But on occasion, you may see her in a skirt or (on an even rarer occasion) a dress, just to shake things up a bit. Despite her obvious boyish appearance, she does enjoy an occasional touch of femininity here and there. Her eyes are almost always hidden behind her glasses (despite her not needing them to see) because childhood events have made her ashamed of them. They’re clear-framed only because her adoptive brother (who gave them to her) felt she’d look silly wearing sunglasses all the time (or even worse, bandaging her eyes like she'd done most of her life), but the principle behind it is the same; either way, she feels she can hide behind them.
What Clubs is your character involved in? You may choose "none" or a maximum of three from the list below.

Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Itachi is enigmatic, aloof, stoic and a little naughty, much like an alley cat (which is why the majority of her old friends knew her as ‘Kuroneko-chan’). True to her nickname, her moods can be incredibly fickle at times. Some days, she’s a social butterfly, ready to save the world with rainbows, hugs and fairy dust. Other days, she’ll bite the head off of anyone who comes within a five foot radius. She can also be sweet and kind (when she wants to be, that is), and is well-known for being extremely affectionate (ie. cuddly, like a giant teddy bear). She thoroughly enjoys teasing people, especially people she considers to be her friends. Her teasing is never malicious, though, and she’s quick to apologize in the event she inadvertently hurts someone’s feelings. She’s really not into drama, so she’d rather avoid it by any means possible. However, as always, there’s more to her than meets the eye. Itachi had an extremely rough past, one which she almost never talks about (the only ones outside her adoptive family who know the details are her two best friends, Kiba and Hikari), which leads many to believe her outer personality is a false one. It is often said that Itachi hides her true personality (an insecure, timid one) behind a mask of playfulness, but it has yet to be proven. No one has ever been able to remove the ‘mask’, so to speak. Itachi is also (somewhat) selfless and (very) protective, thus, she is willing to distance herself from those she cares in order to protect them and stop them from getting embroiled in her own troubles. Another thing worth noting is that despite her playful nature, her vocal tone is almost always dull (nearly monotone at times), which further adds to the suspicion of her not being true to her feelings.
What does your character think of the Etoile position as a whole?
She thinks it’s quite sweet that two girls would be so willing to showcase their love to the entire school.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday?
While she would likely pretend to enjoy the attention, being Etoile might really drive her inner self crazy. She’s never been one to like being in the spotlight. However, if she ever came across a partner who really wanted it, she’d happily oblige.
What does your character think of --- and ---, the current etoiles?
TBA when the new etoiles are announced.
What does your character think of the other schools?
Itachi finds the rivalry between Spica and Miator amusing. It’s not something she herself would ever get into, but it’s fun to watch the other students get into it. She loves the relaxed atmosphere of Lulim and is glad to be a student there.
~History~
Please write in 100 words or more your character's history before she came to Lulim.
Itachi was born in a very rural village in Japan. The villagers took old-school values to a whole new level, choosing to live by ancient laws and superstitions established by long-dead ancestors. One of the many superstitions was that if a child was born with ‘eyes as cold as ice’ (in other words, icy blue eyes), the child’s soul had been tainted by demons in the womb and thus must be destroyed. Knowing this, Itachi’s fearful mother bribed the doctor into bandaging the child’s eyes before the rest of her family arrived to meet her, and telling everyone that she was blind (bandaging the eyes of the blind was another old tradition of their clan). They accepted the lie at face value, of course, and welcomed the newborn with open arms. For the first eight years of her life, Itachi’s eyes remained bandaged. She learned to live without her vision, but not being able to see could not guard her from the insults of her peers. They taunted her constantly, tripping her up whenever they could. It was an awful experience. One day, Itachi became so fed up with their banter that she ripped the bandages off right in front of them...and discovered that she could see. The children, having been told of the legend of icy-eyed individuals being related to demons, immediately took off in a panic, shouting ‘demon-child’ as they fled. Itachi was, of course, baffled by this, as she had never seen her own reflection and thus had no idea her eyes were blue.
Still adjusting to her new vision, she found her way home and demanded that her mother explain why she had been told she was blind. Realizing she had been caught, her mother (who was, thankfully, home alone at the time) quickly pulled her into her room, locking the door behind them. She explained the village’s superstition, and the consequences she would face if it was discovered that she had allowed Itachi to live past birth. She brought a mirror to her, allowing her to see herself for the first time. And when she did, she screamed, breaking down into tears soon after. She didn’t want to die. Not now. Not ever. But now that she knew she could see, she couldn’t allow herself to go back to living with bandaged eyes. Especially not after the children had discovered her secret. It wasn’t long before the whole village knew, having heard the frightened children’s cries. And soon, a mob had gathered at her door, demanding to see the ‘demon’. Itachi’s mother came to the door, claiming that her child was not there, and that the rumors were not true. But the mob could not be reasoned with, and soon they shoved the woman out of their path and made their way inside. They ransacked the place in search of Itachi until they found her huddled in the back corner of a closet. They beat the small child into submission, turning her once porcelain skin into a bruised, bloody mess. The beating didn’t stop until she slipped into unconsciousness, which the villagers believed to be death. They left her bleeding on the floor, having already dragged her screaming mother out to receive punishment (death) for keeping her child alive.
Itachi’s family did little to assist in her recovery, having disowned her for what they believed she was. The most they did was keep the fact that she had not died a secret, and that was only because they did not want her mother’s death to be in vain. And so Itachi was left to her own devices, caring for herself even while severely injured. She was only allowed to leave the house at night, and even then she had to wear a cloak and bandage her eyes. It was a miserable existence which made Itachi wish the villagers’ attempt at killing her hadn’t failed. Four years later, at the age of twelve, Itachi had finally had enough. She left one night, never to return. She walked for miles upon miles, passing through countless villages, until she reached a modernized city. She happened upon a bench near a bus stop and sat there, unmoving, for days. She would not speak to anyone, and never looked anyone in the eye. It wasn’t long before concerned passersby finally had her escorted to the nearest orphanage. It took months for the workers there to get her to speak to them, but when they did, she told them everything (in an eerily nonchalant manner).
Upon hearing her story, a kindly couple (Himeko and Jun) paid the orphanage a visit, bringing their son Natsu (who was about fifteen at the time) along with them. While his parents spoke with the workers, Natsu tried his best to make friends with Itachi. She was wary at first, but it wasn’t long before the two bonded, which solidified the family’s decision to adopt Itachi. The new family went home together (to a place that was far, far away from Itachi’s old village, much to her relief), and began their new life. Knowing the shame his new sister felt about her eyes, Natsu gave her a pair of clear-framed glasses, explaining that they would aid her in concealing them without her looking strange. Though Natsu did hope that someday she would stop feeling that shame, he still wanted to help ease her fears for the time being. Itachi was extremely grateful for that, and she now avoids removing her glasses whenever possible. Three years later, Himeko and Jun made the decision to send Itachi to a nearby boarding school, hoping that the constant interaction with new people would help her stop living her life in fear.

The crisp autumn breeze blew softly through short tresses of charcoal gray hair. The tall, icy-eyed girl stood still, staring blankly at the gate before her. The gate that would lead her into a new chapter of her life…or so she hoped. Itachi Kiyashiki, the tomboyish, unfeeling monster. ‘That’s all I’ll ever be...a monster.’ She closed her eyes for a moment as she drew in a nervous breath.
As she slowly passed through the gate, her eyes wandered about. This place truly was as beautiful as she had imagined it would be, maybe even more so. The scent of flowers loomed in the air, the clear blue sky provided a wonderful backdrop for the beautiful buildings… Overall, this place was like something straight out of a dream.
Sighing inwardly, she continued to walk, thoughts of her new life speeding through her mind like a hurricane. Would she make new friends? Would she make something of herself? Would she finally learn what it meant to truly live? Would she find true love? That last thought made her heart sink. True love… Itachi shook her head, hardening her gaze. ‘I’ll never find that… I don’t even know how to love. I don’t want to hurt anyone anymore…’ Running a hand through her messy silver hair, she chased the thoughts from her head.
She looked around, watching the other students pass by. They seemed so happy, so lighthearted… Would she ever be able to feel like that? She highly doubted it. As she grew closer and closer to the Lulim dorms, she suddenly had a thought. She was going to be alone in the dorm…so why not do some exploring before heading there? No one would be there to wait for her anyway. Shrugging to herself, she turned on her heels and wandered aimlessly in a random direction, ready to explore the campus. Maybe, just maybe, she’d make some new friends along the way…
