And Yuwa herself believes she's worthy of Etoile, she's worthy of everyone's admiration and she'll work hard to get it. In Yuwa's mind, even though her eyes are set on only one, everyone should have their sights set on her.
Explain your character in 200 words or more:
Yuwako’s a bright, ambitious and obnoxious girl. She looks down on anyone who might be doing less than what they’re capable of(in her eyes anyway). Because of her Superiority(inferiority) complex, she always strives hard at doing whatever it is she’s tasked with.
Whether it’s Student Council work(especially Student council work), or her after-school activities. Mostly, it’s to make sure her Mama in heaven is proud and because she and the Student Council President have a history, even if she doesn’t remember Yuwa at all.
Because of Yuwa’s traumatic past, Yuwa also developed a cold and unfeeling personality. As well as a violent obsession towards her love. For Himiko-Sama, Yuwa’s willing to do anything. Including dragging down anyone who tries to steal Himiko-Sama or disgraces Himiko-Sama.
She feels as though Himiko-Sama’s the only one qualified for Etoile and would do anything to help her secure the position.
Outside of her one-sided love for Himiko, Yuwako has a fascination with looking sexy. Whether it’s wearing exotic gothic clothing, or revealing garments. It makes her feel alive and to forget her pain. The same thing with overtly flirting with guys or girls(though it’s more girls lately). Her relationship with her younger sister Momoko keeps her steady even in spite of the tough times. But her greatest wish is to hear Himiko-Sama confess to her. No matter how long it takes, she’ll persist until she’s won Himiko-Sama’s heart.
But she knows. She knows she’s the darkness; Himiko-Sama’s the light. Everything that Himiko-Sama dislikes, she’s become. But, she can’t stop!
Yuwa’s Past
Yuwaku Lily grew up in a family of 5, with her two older brothers and three younger sisters. At 14 years old, she was smack dab in the middle. Not quite an adult yet, and not quite a child. So she wasn’t treated with kiddie gloves, instead her brothers humiliated her and used their age as a way of demoting their superiority. Though deep down, Yuwaku instinctively felt that her brothers were acting that way because they noticed she had a talent. Whatever she did, she strived to do it well. She would be unusually obsessed over things that caught her attention and that allowed her to thrive.
Her Father wasn’t around very often as a highly successful businessman but her mother was awe-inspiring. Both as a mother in the house, and as a defense lawyer, her mom told her how she defended people who were sometimes wrongly accused and allowed the other side to tell their story.
Though her life had its various difficulties, it wasn’t all that bad until a certain day.
Perhaps the thunder and rain was a precursor of things to come, but it was a typical day. The brothers were at their college dorms, Momoko-Chan, her 9 year old sister was hugging on her like always and the younger 7 year old Elisa-Chan continued to pout, apparently very jealous of the special connection she had with Momoko-chan.
“Yuwa-Chan, be a dear and watch over the house” Her mother called out. Mom and Dad were taking her youngest sibling, 2 year old Teresa to daycare. “Yes, mother!” Yuwa called out, glad to be recognized by her mother. “We’ll be back later” Her deadpan father responded, and Yuwa sighed. He was always such a mood killer. “See you later.” She said in a monotone voice that suggested it would be a typical day.
But it wasn’t a typical day. The roads were extra slippery and the traffic was awful. A car was trying to beat the red light and…..
Just like that, Yuwaku was awoken out of her daily routine and into a nightmare. Her mother, father and her youngest sister all dead! When she heard of the accident, she immediately rushed to the scene, screaming out “Mother! Father! Teresa-Chan!” The shock disturbed her so much; she immediately went into Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and was hospitalized for about half a year.
During that half a year, she was a shell of her former cheery self. She blamed everything, the world, her brothers, and anything she could possibly think of on the deaths of the ones she cared for the most. Her eyes were blacked out and it seemed as though she had lost all hope. But there was a patient in the hospital, unlike her; this patient just came over for a typical checkup but still.
“Why are you looking down on the ground like that?” Her question, piqued with curiosity was able to awaken the slumbering soul inside Yuwa. She didn’t mean to lash out with anger, but she spoke in a harsh tone “Why’s it matter to you? Can’t a woman be depressed?” Yuwa expected her harsh words to push the girl back, she was a few years older but still, she seemed feeble and weak. Instead, she grabbed Yuwa’s hands.
“You’re not depressed! You’re just beating up on yourself! Does that really make you feel happy?” She cried out passionately to Yuwa, which made Yuwa snap even more.
“What do you know!? Have you ever lost your mother, your father and your youngest sister in a single day!? So what if I’m beating up on myself? So what if I’m not happy? This is how I’m coping!”
Then the girl slapped her cheeks, it was a soft and yet harsh slap to reality for Yuwa, who was so shocked she couldn’t even speak.
“You’re not coping, you’re just torturing yourself under the sadness of losing those dear to you! That’s no way to live! And it’s not the way your parents or your sister would’ve wanted you to live! Live! For your family, for yourself!” As the girl imparted these words of wisdom unto Yuwa, Yuwa could do nothing but take it all in.
Then, she started sobbing. She was no longer angry; the chains around her heart were unshackled by this girl’s passionate feelings. “But, how can I live? How can I heal the wounds in my heart?”
“By filling those wounds with new people. Sure, they may not be blood-related but they’ll share your dreams, they’ll laugh with you and they’ll pick you up.”
“Friends?” Yuwa asked out loud. The girl nodded. “Yes, friends.” “Are we, friends?” Yuwa asked the girl. “Of course we are.” Yuwa then cracked a smile, to the astonishment of the doctors who were there. The girl also smiled and hugged Yuwa, apparently the girl wasn’t one for hiding her feelings. This made Yuwa blush a crimson red, only Momoko had embraced her like this.
“I’m Himiko Miyamae.” Himiko’s soft and kind voice vibrated through Yuwa’s heart and mind. “Pleased to meet you.” She then chuckled, a soft laughter that expressed innocence and joy. Yuwa softly replied. “I’m Yuwaku Lily. I’m pleased to meet you as well, Himiko-chan.”
The two had played for the whole day, until Himiko’s checkups were complete. After that, she hadn’t seen Himiko-Chan again. But her affection for her grew stronger, even 3 years after the accident.
Sample Post:
The Day was Sept, 14, 2014. It’d been 3 years since her mother, father and younger sister died in an accident. Her brothers, the selfish bastards that they were decided to not only move out but not even care for her and the other two remaining sisters. They simply sent over money. Neither adoption nor foster homes were an option to the three of them, not even to Alice who despised Yuwa. They all wanted to remain together. Yuwa thought that Alice might be more jealous of Momoko, and then she is hateful of Yuwa. Yuwa understands that though, because of the burning feelings she has for a certain special someone.
After eating some toast and scrambled eggs, a young girl with pink hair curls was looking peering over the wall in the kitchen. “Yuwa Onee-sama.” She whispered. “Momoko, come here.” Yuwa replied and Momoko rushed up to her. Yuwa hugged her tightly.
“Onee-Sama, Alice was being mean again!” Yuwa sighed, the responsibility of a parent dawning on a 14 year old is impossible. Her father was rich though and left a handsome estate, so it was a lot better than most in an impossible situation like this.
“What’d she do?” “Alice took the toilet paper away while I was going to the bathroom!” Yuwa sighed, sure, Alice was only 7 and maybe the loss of her parents was as hard on her as it was on Yuwa but still. Yuwa walked to the bathroom with Momoko.
“Alice, what are you doing?” Alice stuck her tongue out at Yuwa “Oh look, it’s stupid Yuwa. You’re just backing up Momoko again right?” Yuwa snapped at her “I’d protect you too! We’re all family! It’s all we’ve got!” Alice pouted back and observed. “Seems your only family is Momoko. You don’t care for me!”
“That’s not.....!” Yuwa paused as Alice threw the roll of toilet paper at her and stormed out of the bathroom…. “Alice…” Yuwa was stunned. She then put the roll back in its proper place to be accessed. After leaving Momoko alone to do her thing, Yuwa began packing up for her first day at Spica. As she began to leave the room, Momoko was in front of the door. “Onee-Sama…..I love you.”
Momoko hugged Yuwa and brought her down, and the two shared a French kiss. Sure, it wasn’t right. But Yuwa was Momoko’s first. “Momoko” Yuwa said, placing her hands gently on her shoulders. “I’m not the woman you think I am. I’m obsessed with someone I also love. Even now, your kind kisses placate my soul. But I don’t think of you as anything more than my beloved sister.”
None of that phased Momoko in the slightest. “I know, Onee-Sama. My love for you will always be unrequited but it will also be eternal. No matter what happens or who you’re with. I’ll always love Onee-Sama.” “Momoko-Chan, please watch after Alice for me when you both walk to school.” Momoko kissed her cheeks and nodded. “Yes, Onee-Sama”.
Walking to school was a tradition for younger students, but for Yuwa she needed something more private. The wounds from 3 years ago were still burning badly. As well as the one hope that she gained from that day. The servant in charge brought up the limousine and Yuwa sat in the back, holding a heart-shaped necklace in her hand.
“I’ll give this to you.” Himiko said as she handed Yuwa the necklace. “What is it?” Yuwa asked. “A symbol of our friendship. So that no matter what happens or how far we’re apart, we’ll always be together! Yuwa-Chan!”
“Himiko-Sama, are you doing well?” She whispered to herself. “I’m fine, I’ve grown stronger. Mentally and physically, so that one day I’ll find you and then confess my love to you!”
The Limousine arrived at Astraea Hill, and she beamed a smile. The first full healthy smile she had in years. It was her father’s suggestion to attend Spica, because his friend had a daughter who attended Spica and raved that it was the best school on the Hill. It definitely had the toughest entrance exams, despite the high B- grade, it barely qualified.
But more importantly, she attended because of the possibility that she was here.
“Himiko-Sama, if I can find you in this garden of maidens. I’ll confess all of my feelings to you. You saved me; you made me who I am. And now, I’ll show you the depth of my feelings!”
She heard a choir all of a sudden; she didn’t know that singing was a part of the curriculum here. She wandered aimlessly, in search of where that song was coming from. Forgetting that she was supposed to go to the main school to register (and she didn’t even know where that was).
So, this is it. Apologies to advance to Himiko, when crafting the kind of character I had in mind I wanted to go with an admiration route. And your character jumped out at me. If it's uncomfortable or if it interferes in anyway, I apologize and I'll change that part of the character.
