Post by Koyuki "Koyu" Uzumaki on Nov 19, 2013 16:25:23 GMT -5
My old plot board was getting a little too hectic, so I figured I'd make a new one just for Koyuki (as well as any future charries I decide to put into play on a whim XD).
Name: Koyuki "Koyu" Uzumaki
Face Claim: Kotori Itsuka (Date A Live)
Year: Third (Miator)
Type: Manipulative Seme
Relationship status: Single
Personality: Koyuki is very strict and proud, with a cold outlook on life. Her biggest goal in life is to exact revenge on the outlaws who killed her parents, despite having been told countless times that revenge was not the answer. She’s got quite the mouth on her, and is not at all shy about speaking out when something displeases her. When angered, she shifts into a state of sadism, rendering her able to tear people down with words alone. Despite this crude personality, she maintains a strong belief that ladies are more attractive to others if they act innocent, naive, fragile, and cheerful, particularly around their lords (a concept which was instilled in her by her mother). For this reason, Koyuki tends to be extremely kind and polite in the presence of others, creating the illusion of a gentle disposition. Internally, Koyuki often contemplates about the behaviors and attitudes of her fellow human beings. She finds humans in general to be difficult creatures, but adds that their struggles and lofty goals make them interesting. She is intrigued about how insatiable they are, as they are willing to drag others down to get what they want, even in death. These observations are the basis of her belief that all humans are scum, herself included. Because of that belief, she has no trouble hurting people if they get in the way of her goals. She has little regard for other people’s feelings, or lives, for that matter. She has been known to play games with people’s heads, purposely putting them in danger for her own amusement. She’s quite skilled in the field of manipulation. From a stranger’s perspective, it would seem that Koyuki would be happiest if left to her own devices. But deep inside, she does yearn for a true friend. Someone to stand by her side in her journey to restore the dignity of the Uzumaki family. All in all, Koyuki’s mind is a twisted, complex thing.
History: Koyuki was born to an extremely wealthy family with ties to countless criminal organizations. She was only three years old when a group of outlaws attacked the Uzumaki household seeking to take her away (in hopes of using her to get the money the Uzumaki family owed them). In order to protect her, Momoko Uzumaki (her mother) sacrificed herself as payment and was later killed in a hostile negotiation. Two years later, Kaito Uzumaki (her father) found himself in another bout of debt with the very people that had killed his wife. Before he had a chance to pay it off (after having scammed his way out of paying for quite some time), the criminals retaliated with a brutal assassination. Koyu's first memory is that of her childhood home going up in flames, crying for her father as the fire consumed him. Thanks to the kindness of one of the culprits (who took pity on her because she was so young), she survived the fire with only minor injuries. The mysterious man (who later turned out to be Zenjiro Nakagawa, the brother of Koyu’s adoptive father) dropped her off in front of an orphanage in a town far away, where she was soon adopted by another wealthy family.
From that day on, she grew up in the care of Rikuto and Meiko Nakagawa, who already had a child of their own (Atsuki). A head injury she’d suffered while trapped in the burning house rendered her unable to recall anything prior to her stay in the orphanage. Despite having her memories sealed, as a child Koyuki experienced constant nightmares, a problem which continued nightly until she joined the Nakagawa household and befriended her adoptive brother Atsuki. Atsuki was cold and aloof, but he protected her as needed, comforting her whenever she was afraid. He suffered from terrible nightmares as well (but for very different reasons), and therefore sympathised with her greatly. He even went so far as to allow Koyu to sleep beside him in order to quell her night terrors. As a result, Koyuki formed a strong bond with him. She found comfort in helping Atsuki with his own nightmares and unofficially appointed herself as his guardian, entering his room to check on him, making sure he slept soundly and constantly worrying about his well being. Shortly after her arrival, another change occurred, one that would pave the way for her revenge-driven nature.
It was Koyuki’s twelfth birthday, and the Nakagawa family had invited several extended family members to their home for a celebration. As the guests arrived, Koyu stood at the door to greet them (as per her adoptive mother’s instructions). But the arrival of one particular guest shattered her world forever: Zenjiro Nakagawa, the brother of her adoptive father (Koyuki’s uncle). Almost immediately, Koyuki recognized the man’s face as the one she’d seen prior to blacking out after the fire. Suddenly, dozens of previously repressed memories flooded the girl’s mind, sending her into a state of terrified shock. She remembered everything; her mother’s sacrifice, the criminal acts, the fire that had taken her father and her home...and the man that had spared her life. The sudden rush of memories was too much for the fragile girl to handle, and seconds later she had fainted. When she awoke in her bed, everyone (including Zenjiro) had gathered around her, clearly worried for her well-being. Meiko explained that they had been told to let her memory return naturally, though for her sake they had hoped it never would. Still in shock, Koyuki said nothing. For the next few days, the once kind-hearted redhead was like a ghost of her former self. She spoke only to Atsuki, and the light in her eyes seemed to have disappeared altogether. The first step on her newfound path was her sudden refusal to be addressed by “Koyuki Nakamura”, instead choosing to use her original last name: Uzumaki.
Over the course of the following weeks, Koyuki became progressively more withdrawn. She was angry at the world for its cruelty, at her adoptive family for keeping secrets, at the criminals for killing her parents, and at Zenjiro for making her remember it all. It was during that time that she resolved to seek revenge on the men who hurt her family, no matter the cost. She began taking classes in sword fighting and self-defense, and studying various vengeance tactics. She became cold and unfeeling, willing to eliminate anything and anyone that stood in her way by any means necessary. She cut herself off from her family, even her beloved brother. Disturbed by the sudden change in personality and worried sick for her, the Nakamura family sent her to Astraea Hill in the hopes that the change in atmosphere would help her return to the girl she once was.
Details: Poor little Koyu... So misguided, so disturbed... But, as with all my girls, I'd like for this little devil to find love. And of course, friendship is always welcome. Koyuki has never been able to truly bond with anyone (save for her adoptive brother, Atsuki), so getting her to trust you will be difficult. But once she does, you'll get a glimpse of the kind person she used to be. And who knows? Maybe you could be the one to bring the old Koyuki back.
Name: Jamie Elizabeth Michaelis
Face Claim: Yui Ohtsuki (Idolm@ster)
Year: Third (Spica)
Type: Chibi Seme
Relationship status: Single
Personality: Jamie is hot-headed, good-hearted, and quite often too quick to speak and act. She has a bad habit of saying the first thing that pops into her head (which sometimes results in her saying some very strange and stupid things). For this reason, people tend to label her as something of an idiot. But make no mistake; She is significantly more intelligent than people give her credit for. She's merely much, much less reserved when it comes to voicing her opinion than most. When she does take the necessary time to think things through (and this is difficult for her mainly because she has too much energy and can't calm down enough most of the time) she's easily as strategic as anyone else. Another often overlooked aspect of Jamie is that she is an awesome judge of character once she's gotten past the first impression. She knows more or less who to trust, and is able to see through people’s facades with relative ease. If someone needs a reality check, it rarely takes her long to ferret out the best thing to say (even though, as noted before, it might take a little while before the right thing comes out due to her tendency to speak without thinking). The same applies to situations in which she is asked to give advice; it might take her a while to come up with something reasonable, but rest assured, what she does come up with will be something worth waiting for. Despite her reputation as a ditzy fool, she really does have a good head on her shoulders. Jamie is not at all afraid to approach people she finds interesting and always makes sure to present a more approachable manner herself. She’s the textbook definition of a social butterfly. Her loyalty to her friends is everlasting and unfaltering, which is why she is said to have a personality similar to that of a dog. A little on the ditzy side, sweet as can be, and ever-loyal. The thing with Jamie, though, is that she is capable of making enemies just as easily as friends. Her loud mouth and opinionated nature have gotten her into more trouble than she’d care to admit. It’s not at all difficult to get her riled up. She maintains little fear in regards to confrontation, physical or otherwise. Back in her hometown, she’d earned a reputation as “a pit bull in a chihuahua’s body” due to the combination of her aggressive personality and her diminutive stature.
History: Jamie was born into a fairly typical middle-class family. Her mother, Minami, had met her father, Edward, during a visit to America courtesy of a foreign exchange program. Several years later, they were married, and now have a total of six children. Jamie and her twin brother Jake are the oldest, followed by four younger sisters (Marie, Brielle, Ami, and Cadence). Despite the somewhat...crowded living conditions, life at the Michaelis household was pretty normal for the first few years of Jamie’s life. Everyone was happy and everything was great. That is...until her father started working the night shift. That was the point when Jamie’s picturesque family began to crumble. As it turned out, Edward was not really working; he was seeing another woman behind Minami’s back. The evidence leading up to the big reveal had already caused countless fights so by the time the divorce process began, the children had already been expecting it. Jamie was devastated by the whole affair, clinging to her mother’s side like there was no tomorrow. Jake, however, sided with their father, which caused extreme tension between the once inseparable twins. Eventually, the divorce was finalized, and Minami took her leave back to Japan, taking Jamie and her sisters with her. Not surprisingly, Jake had chosen to stay with his father. Once they arrived in their new home, their lives continued to go down the drain. The emotionally distraught Minami began bringing countless men home after spending her nights drinking her sorrows away in various bars. The drastic change in her mother’s personality both frightened and angered Jamie, who quickly stepped up to take her place in raising her siblings. Seeing how miserable she was at home, a kindly relative pulled a few strings and convinced Minami to send her to Astraea Hill in the hopes of giving her a chance to be a teenager rather than a makeshift mother.
Details: Hmm... I'm really not sure what's gonna be happening with this one. Acchan and I have something planned with her and Anko, so that takes care of...well, actually pretty much everything since there will be progression from enemies to friends and eventually to lovers. Other than that, I guess we're up for anything. Let's see where it goes. :3
Name: Caelix Brielle Dupont
Face claim: Nutty (Happy Tree Friends)
Year: Third (Spica)
Type: Optimistic Seme/Sadistic Seme
Relationship Status: Single
Personality: To say that Caelix marches to the beat of her own drum is certainly an understatement. Giggly, playful and brimming over with energy, it's not unusual to find Caelix prancing and skipping joyfully through the streets looking for fun, doing cartwheels, singing a song in a silly voice and making up her own ridiculous lyrics… Well, you get the point. Rambunctious and silly, nothing makes her happier than evoking a giggle and a smile from her friends. She is the freest of free spirits, always acting on her whims, following her heart, talking your ear off and getting a laugh or two along the way. If Caelix can keep her friends laughing and smiling, she feels she’s accomplished what she’s meant to do. Caelix is a strong-willed and cheerful girl with a fondness for cute things. One of her favorite hobbies (aside from partying) is to make everything and everybody "cute" at any given opportunity. When disagreed with, she simply smiles and offers candy. It is incredibly rare to see her lose her temper or her seemingly permanent smile. She also has a habit of adding ‘dattebane’ (roughly translated, it means something similar to the english phrase “y’know”) at the end of her sentences, a verbal tick she inherited from her mother (much to the elder Dupont’s chagrin). To most, Caelix comes off as a clueless, childish ditz. In actuality, Caelix is a dedicated talented swords-woman with a reputation for being a genius with the sword. Her older brother often commented that her sword-wielding skills are even superior to his. Her disposition of delight and innocence is, to an extent, an act; it is heavily influenced by her mother, who has taught her that all ladies should act weak and cute, smile often, and be surrounded by nice things. However, it would be wise to note that Caelix is far more complex than she seems. She has been diagnosed with dissociative personality disorder (formerly known as multiple personality disorder), which means that she is not always the one in the driver’s seat. Her alternate personality (only one has shown itself thus far, but her doctor believes there may be more waiting in the wings) refers to herself as ‘Nyx’, and is probably the cruelest person you’ll ever meet. Nyx is crude, violent, and unstable. When Nyx takes over, Caelix becomes a ticking time bomb, set off by the slightest of things. Nyx is the reason Caelix is often feared, but Caelix does not understand why. Caelix has no memory of what she does during Nyx’s reign over her body, and as a result often responds with “Nyx did it” when accused of doing things she does not remember. Simply put, Caelix is a typical optimistic seme and Nyx is a textbook sadistic seme. How such contrasting personalities can possibly reside in one body is beyond most people’s understanding.
History: Caelix was born and raised in England, but still speaks fluent Japanese thanks to being raised by her family’s Japanese butler, Zero Kobayashi. Caelix’s parents were a stereotypical wealthy couple who had no time to deal with the challenges of raising a child, especially one with the sort of complications she had. You see, Caelix has a multitude of psychological abnormalities, including Dissociative Identity Disorder, Nightmare Disorder, Achluophobia (fear of the dark), Astrapophobia (fear of thunder/lightning), Bogyphobia (fear of the bogeyman), Hemophobia (fear of blood), and Isolophobia (fear of being alone). Because many of her fears are aggravated by darkness, she has a great deal of trouble sleeping, and cannot be without light. She also takes great care to avoid cuts/scrapes, as the sight of blood frightens her terribly. She is intensely paranoid and easily startled. She cannot be left alone for more than a few minutes without panicking, which is likely the reason she reaches out to people so often. Still, there really isn’t a way for her to always have someone by her side…at least, not in the flesh. Despite their strikingly different personalities, Caelix considers Nyx to be her closest friend in the world. She talks to her constantly, often leading people to believe she’s insane. All of these things were used by Caelix’s parents as an excuse to stay as far away from their daughter as possible (and to keep her away from the public eye, lest their precious reputations be ruined by their ‘psychotic’ child). As a result, Caelix spent most of her childhood locked away in her parents’ mansion with only their butler, Zero, and his daughter Sakura to keep her company.
It didn’t take long for Caelix and Sakura to become best friends. Having lived alongside Caelix all her life, Sakura (who was only a year younger) understood exactly how to deal with the girl’s various disorders. Even Nyx, who was known for her hatred of every living being on the planet, eventually learned to tolerate Sakura’s presence (despite her blatant hatred of Sakura’s pet name for Caelix, ‘Kitty-chan’). The two were practically inseparable. As a symbol of their friendship, Caelix wore (and still wears to this day) a red studded collar Sakura had given her, and in return, Sakura wore Caelix’s red ribbon (which Caelix now wears around her wrist). Unfortunately, their friendship (which had slowly been blossoming into love) was cut short when Sakura began to get sick. She passed away only a few months prior to Caelix’s transfer to Astraea Hill, apparently from a previously undetected brain tumor. Caelix was absolutely devastated, which caused her to withdraw herself completely. This gave Nyx leeway to take control as much as she pleased, much to everyone’s chagrin. In fact, Nyx took control so much that Zero feared the real Caelix had disappeared completely. He could only hope that her time at the new school would help her come back for good.
Details: So... The idea for this one came about while I was watching Total Drama All Stars (yes...I still watch the Total Drama series. It's a guilty pleasure. xD). The relationship between Mike (a boy with MPD who's constantly switching between five different personalities) and Zoey (a really sweet girl who tries her best to see the good in everyone) really warmed my heart, though I'm not entirely sure why. I guess it was just the depth it had, which is something most cartoon relationships lack. Given that description, I'm sure you can guess what I'm getting at. I want someone to be the Zoey to Caelix's Mike. Someone sweet, caring, and understanding. Maybe someone who has an understanding of MPD, or in the very least someone who won't fear her because of it (or any of her other various disorders). The way I see it going down, Caelix meets the girl and there's an instant connection between them (friendship wise, I mean). They develop a friendship, which later turns into mutual affection. Now, up until this point, Caelix has managed to keep Nyx in check (really, though, Nyx is just waiting for the perfect time to make her move). The other girl may have noticed a few odd ticks here and there, maybe a few glimpses of brief personality swaps, but nothing concrete yet. Then while they're hanging out one day (maybe on a date or something), someone does something to trigger Nyx (Nyx is usually triggered as a defense mechanism, so maybe some bully comes in and tries to hurt one of them, which would instantly bring Nyx to the surface.) and the other girl finally sees the side of her that Caelix was trying so hard to keep hidden. Caelix would later come clean about everything (including all of her various disorders), and then...well, we can go from there when the time comes. This is just one idea I had, but I'm open to others too, so please feel free to toss 'em out there if you have 'em!~ ^-^
Name: Itachi Kiyashiki
Face claim: -name unknown- (Ibuki Mangaka)
Year: Fourth (Lulim)
Type: Chibi Seme
Relationship Status: Single
Personality: Itachi is enigmatic, aloof, stoic and a little naughty, much like an alley cat (which is why the majority of her old friends knew her as ‘Kuroneko-chan’). True to her nickname, her moods can be incredibly fickle at times. Some days, she’s a social butterfly, ready to save the world with rainbows, hugs and fairy dust. Other days, she’ll bite the head off of anyone who comes within a five foot radius. She can also be sweet and kind (when she wants to be, that is), and is well-known for being extremely affectionate (ie. cuddly, like a giant teddy bear). She thoroughly enjoys teasing people, especially people she considers to be her friends. Her teasing is never malicious, though, and she’s quick to apologize in the event she inadvertently hurts someone’s feelings. She’s really not into drama, so she’d rather avoid it by any means possible. However, as always, there’s more to her than meets the eye. Itachi had an extremely rough past, one which she almost never talks about (the only ones outside her adoptive family who know the details are her two best friends, Kiba and Hikari), which leads many to believe her outer personality is a false one. It is often said that Itachi hides her true personality (an insecure, timid one) behind a mask of playfulness, but it has yet to be proven. No one has ever been able to remove the ‘mask’, so to speak. Itachi is also (somewhat) selfless and (very) protective, thus, she is willing to distance herself from those she cares in order to protect them and stop them from getting embroiled in her own troubles. Another thing worth noting is that despite her playful nature, her vocal tone is almost always dull (nearly monotone at times), which further adds to the suspicion of her not being true to her feelings.
History:
Itachi was born in a very rural village in Japan. The villagers took old-school values to a whole new level, choosing to live by ancient laws and superstitions established by long-dead ancestors. One of the many superstitions was that if a child was born with ‘eyes as cold as ice’ (in other words, icy blue eyes), the child’s soul had been tainted by demons in the womb and thus must be destroyed. Knowing this, Itachi’s fearful mother bribed the doctor into bandaging the child’s eyes before the rest of her family arrived to meet her, and telling everyone that she was blind (bandaging the eyes of the blind was another old tradition of their clan). They accepted the lie at face value, of course, and welcomed the newborn with open arms. For the first eight years of her life, Itachi’s eyes remained bandaged. She learned to live without her vision, but not being able to see could not guard her from the insults of her peers. They taunted her constantly, tripping her up whenever they could. It was an awful experience. One day, Itachi became so fed up with their banter that she ripped the bandages off right in front of them...and discovered that she could see. The children, having been told of the legend of icy-eyed individuals being related to demons, immediately took off in a panic, shouting ‘demon-child’ as they fled. Itachi was, of course, baffled by this, as she had never seen her own reflection and thus had no idea her eyes were blue.
Still adjusting to her new vision, she found her way home and demanded that her mother explain why she had been told she was blind. Realizing she had been caught, her mother (who was, thankfully, home alone at the time) quickly pulled her into her room, locking the door behind them. She explained the village’s superstition, and the consequences she would face if it was discovered that she had allowed Itachi to live past birth. She brought a mirror to her, allowing her to see herself for the first time. And when she did, she screamed, breaking down into tears soon after. She didn’t want to die. Not now. Not ever. But now that she knew she could see, she couldn’t allow herself to go back to living with bandaged eyes. Especially not after the children had discovered her secret. It wasn’t long before the whole village knew, having heard the frightened children’s cries. And soon, a mob had gathered at her door, demanding to see the ‘demon’. Itachi’s mother came to the door, claiming that her child was not there, and that the rumors were not true. But the mob could not be reasoned with, and soon they shoved the woman out of their path and made their way inside. They ransacked the place in search of Itachi until they found her huddled in the back corner of a closet. They beat the small child into submission, turning her once porcelain skin into a bruised, bloody mess. The beating didn’t stop until she slipped into unconsciousness, which the villagers believed to be death. They left her bleeding on the floor, having already dragged her screaming mother out to receive punishment (death) for keeping her child alive.
Itachi’s family did little to assist in her recovery, having disowned her for what they believed she was. The most they did was keep the fact that she had not died a secret, and that was only because they did not want her mother’s death to be in vain. And so Itachi was left to her own devices, caring for herself even while severely injured. She was only allowed to leave the house at night, and even then she had to wear a cloak and bandage her eyes. It was a miserable existence which made Itachi wish the villagers’ attempt at killing her hadn’t failed. Four years later, at the age of twelve, Itachi had finally had enough. She left one night, never to return. She walked for miles upon miles, passing through countless villages, until she reached a modernized city. She happened upon a bench near a bus stop and sat there, unmoving, for days. She would not speak to anyone, and never looked anyone in the eye. It wasn’t long before concerned passersby finally had her escorted to the nearest orphanage. It took months for the workers there to get her to speak to them, but when they did, she told them everything (in an eerily nonchalant manner).
Upon hearing her story, a kindly couple (Himeko and Jun) paid the orphanage a visit, bringing their son Natsu (who was about fifteen at the time) along with them. While his parents spoke with the workers, Natsu tried his best to make friends with Itachi. She was wary at first, but it wasn’t long before the two bonded, which solidified the family’s decision to adopt Itachi. The new family went home together (to a place that was far, far away from Itachi’s old village, much to her relief), and began their new life. Knowing the shame his new sister felt about her eyes, Natsu gave her a pair of clear-framed glasses, explaining that they would aid her in concealing them without her looking strange. Though Natsu did hope that someday she would stop feeling that shame, he still wanted to help ease her fears for the time being. Itachi was extremely grateful for that, and she now avoids removing her glasses whenever possible. Three years later, Himeko and Jun made the decision to send Itachi to a nearby boarding school, hoping that the constant interaction with new people would help her stop living her life in fear.
Details: Itachi's an interesting one, to say the least. Given her rough past, she has some severe emotional issues that need to be addressed. Despite the fact that she seems like a playful, happy person, she has an emotional time bomb on the inside, ready to explode at any second. What she needs is someone patient, someone who understands what it's like to be so severely misunderstood (or mistreated, in her case). I want someone who can get her to open up about her past, and ultimately, someone who can get her to take her glasses off (which may not seem like much, but it would be a huge achievement for her, as well as a huge step in a relationship). Other than that, she's open for anything. :3
Name: Chiyuu Nikaidou
Face claim: Sanae Kochiya (Touhou Project)
Year: Fourth (Spica)
Type: Protective Seme
Relationship Status: Single
Personality:
Chiyuu was once a kind child who, despite their fear of her, tried desperately to be friendly towards others. Unfortunately, her family’s actions severely twisted her personality. Misled into believing nobody cared for her, Chiyuu used a razor to carve the kanji for "love" into her left wrist, as a symbol of her resolution to be a "demon loving only itself", and to live up to the expectations of her family and peers. Chiyuu became emotionally withdrawn and strangely silent, as she was consumed with loathing towards everyone but herself, her cousin Sosuke (whom she was able to relate to, as they both had similar personalities at the time), and her younger sister Ichigo. She learned to derive pleasure and a reason to live by terrorizing her family — and by extension, anyone who posed a threat to her existence. This was only worsened by her family’s continued emotional abuse, resulting in Chiyuu's remorseless and sociopathic nature. It came to a point where even little Ichigo feared her beloved ‘onee-sama’. However, a chance encounter with a stranger turned Chiyuu’s life upside down. Soon after her tenth birthday, Chiyuu met Usagi Nakamura, a kind young woman who had moved to Chiyuu’s town for a job as the guidance counselor at the local elementary school. Upon learning of Chiyuu’s family situation, Usagi immediately took it upon herself to befriend the girl, hoping that in doing so she would be able to bring back the happy child she’d once been. After months upon months of failed attempts, Chiyuu finally cracked, spilling every pent up emotion she had to Usagi. This was the first step in Usagi’s mission to purify the girl’s blackened heart. She nurtured the lonely girl, showing her that there was a world full of people that weren’t out to hurt her. Over the course of a few years, Chiyuu became incredibly close to both Usagi and Usagi’s daughter Hinata (who was three years younger than her), and eventually (after a lengthy legal battle) came to live with them when she was fourteen. After that, a very different side of Chiyuu re-emerged. Though she still maintains a (somewhat) sadistic, melancholic personality, she is nowhere near as volatile as she once was. It is now possible to approach her without the risk of being physically injured, something that had never been possible prior to Usagi’s intervention. What was once pure hatred is now emptiness and indifference. Nowadays, it is very rare to see her show any kind of genuine emotion at all. On the rare occasion she does crack a smile, it’s likely a feeble attempt to give the illusion that she is happy. However, if one took the time to really look at her, they’d see that her smiles are almost always empty and hollow (she never smiles with her eyes). It’s almost as if the light in her eyes burned out long ago. To Chiyuu, a smile has become something of a mask, something she can put in place to hide the emotional wreck inside.
History:
Chiyuu is the (somewhat) distant cousin of Sosuke Nikaidou. The two were close when they were very young, but their various family problems drove them apart after a while. Chiyuu’s past is something she tends to avoid divulging in conversation. She was born to an impoverished family in a small village in rural Japan (in striking contrast to her cousin Sosuke, whose family had long since abandoned the village in favor of a more modern lifestyle). Her mother died during the birthing process, which (according to the age-old beliefs of her family) was a sign that her child was devil-spawn. Of course, modern times (and general common sense) would say otherwise, but Chiyuu’s family took their beliefs very seriously. As a result, Chiyuu underwent a series of ritualistic torture throughout her childhood (which left her with a multitude of jagged scars), her deranged family hoping to “purify” her soul. When this failed, they resorted to neglecting her completely, treating her as if she didn’t deserve to exist in this world. She was forced to sleep beside her mother’s grave each night as a constant reminder that she had killed her. She was taunted by her family, and shunned by the other villagers (who, unfortunately for Chiyuu, had similar old-school mindsets). She couldn’t go anywhere without someone calling her a demon child, looking at her like she was a monster. And soon enough, that’s exactly what she became. She carved the kanji for the word ‘love’ into her wrist as a symbol of her vow to live up to her reputation as a self-loving demon. When she was taunted, she began to fight back. She would yell and scream and throw things at her antagonizers, even going so far as to threaten them with any feasible weapon she could find. At one point, she even stabbed her uncle with a penknife after he told her he wished she’d died with her mother. The slightest things would make her snap. The scariest part, though, was that her actions actually brought her pleasure. It got to the point where her entire family feared her, even her little sister Ichigo, who had previously been one of the only people she’d ever had a real connection with. It seemed as though Chiyuu had finally hit rock bottom. Then one day, shortly after her tenth birthday, everything changed.
A kind young woman named Usagi Nakamura took a job as a guidance counselor at Chiyuu’s school. She immediately took an interest in the isolated child, which was further increased after hearing the terrible rumors about her. She bravely approached Chiyuu, narrowly dodging an attack in the process, and took her under her wing. Slowly but surely, she began to gain her trust, encouraging her to come out of her shell. It took several long months for Chiyuu to finally speak to Usagi and give the woman her side of the story. This only served to strengthen Usagi’s resolve to bring the real Chiyuu back to the surface. She spent countless hours working with the emotionally destroyed girl, even going so far as to introduce Chiyuu to her daughter, Hinata, in the hopes of giving her a real friend. It wasn’t long before Chiyuu and Hinata were inseparable, with Chiyuu protecting the timid child at every given opportunity. Four long years later, Usagi’s goal was nearly complete. Chiyuu was a very different person than she was when she’d first met the Nakamura family. Though she still had quite a bit of trouble displaying genuine emotion, her nihilistic, sociopathic tendencies had been watered down quite a bit. While she remained extremely guarded (and prone to intimidation) with strangers, with Usagi’s family it was a completely different story. When Hinata was around, Chiyuu was as gentle as a lamb, never hurting anyone or anything (unless it was absolutely necessary). It seemed that Chiyuu had finally taken a step in the right direction. And, after a lengthy battle for custody, she soon came to live with Usagi and Hinata, and together they moved to a city far away from Chiyuu’s village. By sheer luck (or so Chiyuu thought), they happened to move to the same neighborhood as her beloved cousin Sosuke. However, the two were unable to reconnect, as Sosuke had already gone off to school. Determined to reunite her adopted daughter with someone who she could relate to, Usagi pulled a few strings and had her transferred to Astraea Hill.
Details: As always, I'm open to pretty much anything with her, but the main focus is romance. Chiyuu's been through hell and back, so getting her to open up might be a little on the tough side. But she's much more gentle than she was prior to meeting her adoptive family, so violence won't be an issue (unless someone wants to bully her or someone she loves, in which case...well, she stabbed someone once. Keep that in mind. xD). I can see her falling for someone who's really shy, maybe a little insecure. Someone she can protect. She has a bit of a crush on Kagami, so taking that into consideration, it's fairly easy to see the type of girl that peaks her interest.
Name: Annika 'Nika' Beilschmidt
Face Claim: Elsa (Frozen)
Year: Fourth (Spica)
Type: Tsundere Seme
Relationship status: Single
Personality: As a member of a politically influential family in Germany, Annika was trained to behave like royalty from a very young age. She is calm, reserved, regal, and experienced in grace and poise. But beneath this elegant appearance, Annika is quite complex; in truth, she is incredibly troubled with her emotions, a trait that stems from her constant suppression as a child. When she was younger, she was quite playful. She and her younger sister Emerie were always together, whether causing mischief or playing games. However, ever since one of their games indirectly led to her sister's death, Annika began to live in fear of herself (having been told time and time again that her wild imagination and knack for inventing games had been the cause of the tragedy). As a result, she desired isolation from everyone she cared about out of fear that she would hurt them, and chose to keep things to herself rather than communicate or be around anyone. Despite this desire, it is clear that Annika is sensitive towards other people and their well-being (given the fact that the main reason for her self-induced isolation stems from a desire to keep people safe). Unfortunately, despite her moral reasoning, she often comes off as aloof and cold towards anyone who tries to befriend her. But really, that just isn’t the case. There is a liberated side to her personality as well, though at this point it would take a miracle to bring it to the surface. Without stress or fear of hurting others (in other words, when she finds herself in a place where she’s completely alone, even if only for a little while), Annika reveals herself to be strong and unafraid, yet with an air of elegance still surrounding her. Armed with a sense of freedom, she is confident in herself and her abilities, letting them roam free with grace and beauty, all the while no longer worried or daunted by her restraints. Her strong love for creativity blossoms, often expressed through music (and, more rarely, painting). She is a talented pianist, gifted with a lovely voice as well, which she utilizes whenever she can (in other words, she loves to sing). All in all, the REAL Annika (not the plastic version her parents force her to be) is sweet, caring, fierce when she wants to be, elegant, protective, kind-hearted, mysterious, creative, intelligent, and playful. You simply must be determined enough to break through her walls to see this.
History: Annika was born into a fairly wealthy German family. Her father was a politician, and a talented one at that, able to manipulate even the smartest of fools into doing his bidding. Her mother was no better, constantly using her looks and her body to get what she wanted. When the couple gave birth to their daughters (first Annika, then Emerie two years later), they saw an opportunity to expand their horizons. They raised the girls to be perfect little princesses, hoping to someday marry them off to the sons of potential business partners (which would, of course, significantly increase their wealth). When they looked at the girls, (particularly Annika, because she was older), they saw dollar signs. Nothing more, nothing less. And no one had a better understanding of that than Annika. She resented her parents for their lack of love, and for their constant stifling behavior. She wanted to be free to be herself, something her parents would never allow her to do. She wasn’t allowed to befriend anyone her parents did not approve of (in other words, anyone who wasn’t the child of an influential family). She wasn’t allowed to act in any way that might be seen as “improper” for a lady. She was forced to fit into a cookie cutter mold of the “ideal child”. And she absolutely hated it. Her only relief was found in her younger sister Emerie, whom she considered to be her best (and only) friend. The two were always together, with Annika always inventing new games for them to play. One day, however, things went horribly wrong. The girls (at the time, ages 9 and 7) were outside playing a game in the snow. Annika suggested that they pretend to be mountain climbers, a game which they both thoroughly enjoyed. As always, the large tree in their backyard played the role of the mountain. Emerie, who normally stayed on the ground (since Annika was worried about her getting hurt), decided on that fateful day to try for the first time. Long story short, her “mountain climbing adventure” ended with a terrifying fall, a broken neck, and the loss of a life. Emerie died before EMTs even had a chance to get to the scene. Losing her sister was devastating for Annika, and after her death, she became withdrawn. She refused to interact with anyone, terrified that she would end up hurting someone else. Frustrated with their daughter’s refusal to open up (mostly because it inhibited their chance of marrying her off in the future), her parents decided to send her to a seemingly well-known boarding school in Japan (she’d been studying Japanese for years, as the families of many of her potential suitors were stationed in Japan), hoping it would snap her out of her self-induced isolation.
Details: So what I want for her is pretty much the same thing I want for all my girls: true love. I can see her falling for a really shy girl, someone she can nurture and protect. She really needs someone to show her that it's okay to be herself, and help her heal from the emotional torment she's been putting herself through since her sister died. She also needs someone who can take care of her during her weakest moments (I have a plot planned for her which will be explained in a later post).
Name: Kazuko 'Zuko' Sakuragi
Face Claim: Kasuka Heiwajima (Durarara)
Year: Third (Lulim)
Type: Tsundere Seme
Relationship status: Single
Personality: Zuko is eccentric, immature, and extremely mischievous, which puts her at odds with those around her at times. She lives mostly for self-gratification, which she sometimes achieves through selfish acts of lying or cheating; but consequentially, she has a bad habit of getting herself and other people in trouble. She becomes frustrated, frightened, confused or sad all too easily, but simultaneously has extreme difficulty expressing her emotions (with the exception of anger; she’s rather good at showing that), making her behavior very unpredictable. She is also very impulsive, impatient and immature at times, which often leads to others treating her like a child (which only serves to further irritate her). Zuko has a firm belief that being treated like a child gives her the right to act like one, though she is perfectly capable of being serious and mature. Deep inside, she really is wise beyond her years; she’s simply too stubborn to prove everyone around her wrong. She’s a true tsundere at heart. Despite her seemingly selfish personality, Zuko does genuinely care about her friends. When it comes down to it, she would give her life for a friend in a heartbeat. Though she has a difficult time showing people that she cares (often resorting to comedic insults and offhand comments to show gratitude and kindness), she truly does care. She has proven on multiple occasions to be able to understand her loved ones' inner workings, sensing when even the slightest of things is wrong with any of them. She is extremely intuitive, always willing to listen, and has been said to give good advice when asked to do so. Like her late older brother, she has a strong sense of justice and comradery. She has no tolerance for bullies (despite sometimes acting like one herself) and will do whatever she has to in order to resolve confrontation. Zuko also has no problem fighting if necessary, so bullies beware. It would be wise to note that she’s a trained martial artist and a weapons enthusiast. To add to her already (somewhat) confusing personality, Zuko also has an intense fear of thunderstorms and the dark...to the point where she goes into a state of panic and anxiety and essentially reverts into a child.
History: Zuko spent the majority of her childhood living in her brothers’ shadows. As the fourth born child of a family with three (very successful) sons (ages 21, 19, and 18), it was always rather difficult for her to get her parents’ attention. Eldest son Akira was accepted into a very prestigious university. Second eldest Ichigo was a talented soccer player. And the youngest son, Atsuki (like his sister) was an aspiring musician who had recently joined the military like his father. Their parents were incredibly supportive of their boys...so much so that, for the most part, there was little support left for Zuko. And when the twins came along, the neglect only grew worse. Everything she did was always wrong in their eyes. It was always “Why can’t you be more like -insert brother’s name here-? He’s done -insert one of many achievements here- and you can’t even do -insert action here- right!” The same old song and dance no matter what she did. She tried to be a good student like Akira, but her grades never seemed to be high enough. She tried to be sporty like Ichigo, but her various health problems (severe Crohn’s Disease, mild asthma, and various joint problems) prevented her from getting very far. She tried following her musical dreams like Atsuki, but her parents never supported her like they did him. For years, Zuko tried her hardest to please her parents. But after a while, she decided that her journey to gain acceptance and love was a pointless one. And so, she started anew. At the age of thirteen, she became extremely withdrawn, refusing to interact with anyone but Atsuki and the twins (Sora and Jun), the only people in the house that actually cared for her. Atsuki became her main caretaker, making sure she took her medication for her Crohn’s, caring for her when she fell ill, and providing general emotional support. When Atsuki was shipped off to fight in a foreign country’s war, she became even more withdrawn. The deep connection she had with him was her only real solace in the world...which is why the news of his death hit her the hardest. For days, she wouldn’t leave her room, refusing to eat and barely sleeping. She just couldn’t grasp the fact that he was really gone. She began wearing his favorite forest green hoodie everywhere, even sleeping in it at times. His dog tags never left their place around her neck. Finally, when her parents could take no more of her sulking, they shipped her off to boarding school.
Details: So what I want for her is pretty much the same thing I want for all my girls: true love. I can see her falling for a really shy girl, someone she can nurture and protect. I can also see her falling for a more dominant girl, someone who can push her into the role of the uke (whether accidentally or by force). Anything goes, really. I'm always up for ideas, so feel free to toss 'em out there. ^^
