What kind of clothes does your character wear when she's not in uniform?
Most of Koyuki’s wardrobe is made of black lolita dresses, red plaid skirts, corsets, and leather. Lots and lots of leather, most often in black or red. Actually, pretty much everything Koyuki wears is black or red, with the occasional bit of white mixed in. Her trademark clothing items are the black ribbons in her hair and the upside-down cross she wears around her neck. She’s almost never seen without her black kitten heels (she won’t admit it, but she likes to wear heels because they make her feel tall).

Foreign Language: Yes

What instrument(s) does she play? Flute
Is your character on the Student Council? -No
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Koyuki is very strict and proud, with a cold outlook on life. Her biggest goal in life is to exact revenge on the outlaws who killed her parents, despite having been told countless times that revenge was not the answer. She’s got quite the mouth on her, and is not at all shy about speaking out when something displeases her. When angered, she shifts into a state of sadism, rendering her able to tear people down with words alone. Despite this crude personality, she maintains a strong belief that ladies are more attractive to others if they act innocent, naive, fragile, and cheerful, particularly around their lords (a concept which was instilled in her by her mother). For this reason, Koyuki tends to be extremely kind and polite in the presence of others, creating the illusion of a gentle disposition. Internally, Koyuki often contemplates about the behaviors and attitudes of her fellow human beings. She finds humans in general to be difficult creatures, but adds that their struggles and lofty goals make them interesting. She is intrigued about how insatiable they are, as they are willing to drag others down to get what they want, even in death. These observations are the basis of her belief that all humans are scum, herself included. Because of that belief, she has no trouble hurting people if they get in the way of her goals. She has little regard for other people’s feelings, or lives, for that matter. She has been known to play games with people’s heads, purposely putting them in danger for her own amusement. She’s quite skilled in the field of manipulation. From a stranger’s perspective, it would seem that Koyuki would be happiest if left to her own devices. But deep inside, she does yearn for a true friend. Someone to stand by her side in her journey to restore the dignity of the Uzumaki family. All in all, Koyuki’s mind is a twisted, complex thing.
What does your character think of the Etoile position as a whole?
“A position of power gained by manipulating others into liking you…? How intriguing.”
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday?
Yes, but more for the prowess it brings than anything else.
What does your character think of ---- and ----, the current etoiles? TBA when the new etoiles are announced!
What does your character think of the other schools? Koyuki doesn’t have much of an opinion in regards to Lulim, other than the fact that most of its students seem a bit too...happy for her taste. She acknowledges the rivalry between her school and Spica, but finds the whole idea rather pointless.
~History~
Please write in 100 words or more your character's history before she came to Miator:
Koyuki was born to an extremely wealthy family with ties to countless criminal organizations. She was only three years old when a group of outlaws attacked the Uzumaki household seeking to take her away (in hopes of using her to get the money the Uzumaki family owed them). In order to protect her, Momoko Uzumaki (her mother) sacrificed herself as payment and was later killed in a hostile negotiation. Two years later, Kaito Uzumaki (her father) found himself in another bout of debt with the very people that had killed his wife. Before he had a chance to pay it off (after having scammed his way out of paying for quite some time), the criminals retaliated with a brutal assassination. Koyu's first memory is that of her childhood home going up in flames, crying for her father as the fire consumed him. Thanks to the kindness of one of the culprits (who took pity on her because she was so young), she survived the fire with only minor injuries. The mysterious man (who later turned out to be Zenjiro Nakagawa, the brother of Koyu’s adoptive father) dropped her off in front of an orphanage in a town far away, where she was soon adopted by another wealthy family.
From that day on, she grew up in the care of Rikuto and Meiko Nakagawa, who already had a child of their own (Atsuki). A head injury she’d suffered while trapped in the burning house rendered her unable to recall anything prior to her stay in the orphanage. Despite having her memories sealed, as a child Koyuki experienced constant nightmares, a problem which continued nightly until she joined the Nakagawa household and befriended her adoptive brother Atsuki. Atsuki was cold and aloof, but he protected her as needed, comforting her whenever she was afraid. He suffered from terrible nightmares as well (but for very different reasons), and therefore sympathised with her greatly. He even went so far as to allow Koyu to sleep beside him in order to quell her night terrors. As a result, Koyuki formed a strong bond with him. She found comfort in helping Atsuki with his own nightmares and unofficially appointed herself as his guardian, entering his room to check on him, making sure he slept soundly and constantly worrying about his well being. Shortly after her arrival, another change occurred, one that would pave the way for her revenge-driven nature.
It was Koyuki’s twelfth birthday, and the Nakagawa family had invited several extended family members to their home for a celebration. As the guests arrived, Koyu stood at the door to greet them (as per her adoptive mother’s instructions). But the arrival of one particular guest shattered her world forever: Zenjiro Nakagawa, the brother of her adoptive father (Koyuki’s uncle). Almost immediately, Koyuki recognized the man’s face as the one she’d seen prior to blacking out after the fire. Suddenly, dozens of previously repressed memories flooded the girl’s mind, sending her into a state of terrified shock. She remembered everything; her mother’s sacrifice, the criminal acts, the fire that had taken her father and her home...and the man that had spared her life. The sudden rush of memories was too much for the fragile girl to handle, and seconds later she had fainted. When she awoke in her bed, everyone (including Zenjiro) had gathered around her, clearly worried for her well-being. Meiko explained that they had been told to let her memory return naturally, though for her sake they had hoped it never would. Still in shock, Koyuki said nothing. For the next few days, the once kind-hearted redhead was like a ghost of her former self. She spoke only to Atsuki, and the light in her eyes seemed to have disappeared altogether. The first step on her newfound path was her sudden refusal to be addressed by “Koyuki Nakamura”, instead choosing to use her original last name: Uzumaki.
Over the course of the following weeks, Koyuki became progressively more withdrawn. She was angry at the world for its cruelty, at her adoptive family for keeping secrets, at the criminals for killing her parents, and at Zenjiro for making her remember it all. It was during that time that she resolved to seek revenge on the men who hurt her family, no matter the cost. She began taking classes in sword fighting and self-defense, and studying various vengeance tactics. She became cold and unfeeling, willing to eliminate anything and anyone that stood in her way by any means necessary. She cut herself off from her family, even her beloved brother. Disturbed by the sudden change in personality and worried sick for her, the Nakamura family sent her to Astraea Hill in the hopes that the change in atmosphere would help her return to the girl she once was.

A wash of glistening moonlight crept stealthily through the cracks of a dust covered window. The eerie glow made the otherwise pitch black corridor all the more unnerving. The soft echo of footsteps was the only sound that sliced through the stale silence of the air. Koyuki’s dark ruby orbs scanned her surroundings with deep seeded intensity, her mind unable to focus on anything else. Tresses of long, crimson hair bounced lightly with every step. With each passing minute, the path before her seemed to grow longer. After what felt like an endless journey, her footsteps came to an abrupt halt and silence reigned free once more. Before her stood a small table, adorned with a lacy cloth. The table stood proudly on its four legs, though the wood was chipped and the paint had faded. The edges of the cloth were a soft brown shade, stained with age. Upon the table, a small book rested. Its cover was worn with age, covered in dust after having been left untouched for so long. Koyuki reached out a trembling hand, the gentle touch of her fingertips leaving light streaks in the dust as they brushed against the cover. She felt a chill run down her spine, causing an involuntary shiver. Her chest rattled slightly with every shaky breath. She could feel her heart pounding violently.
Gathering every ounce of courage she could muster, she lifted the book from its place. The second she pulled back the cover, memories began to run rampant. Kayuki took a step back, nearly stumbling over her own feet. She was utterly taken aback by the sudden dizzying frenzy her thoughts had spun into. The memories flew relentlessly at her like raging bullets. Images were conjured that had long before been tucked safely away in the depths of her mind. Images of her parents... Her loving family… Her carefree days... And the tragedy that had taken them all away. Her hands immediately found their way to her head, trying desperately to somehow block the rush of emotions. Having lost its support, the book fell to the floor with a sickening thud. The reverberating echo only seemed to fuel the girl’s madness. The book must be destroyed... The thought put a halt to all others. Her piercing crimson gaze burned into the book, having lost any remaining threads of sanity. Allowing the darkness to caress her mind like a security blanket, Kayuki slowly reached down, pulling the book into a tight embrace. Holding it tightly against her still trembling chest, she began to run. She ran as though being chased by bloodthirsty demons. In the depths of her twisted mind, that was exactly what was occurring.
She was running. She had to run. She had to get away. Away from the memories she did not wish to remember... Vivid red flames erupted behind her, filling the corridors with intolerable heat as they rushed to pursue her. Her eyes struggled to adjust to the sudden change. Her chest heaved laboriously as her lungs filled with smoke, her entire body shaking with each breath she took. The hardwood floors caught her knees as she collapsed, letting the book tumble onto the ground beside her. As the flames slowly surrounded her, her eyes never left the book’s faded cover. Do it... Destroy the book... Do it now...! The voices in her head were deafening, defeating any hope she had of regaining her sanity. And then…
Koyuki awoke with a start, a shrill yelp piercing the air. Her tiny frame trembled violently as she struggled to calm her breathing, her body dripping with sweat. Slowly and carefully, she shifted into a sitting position, pulling her knees to her chest as silent tears began to fall. She was so immersed in her own thoughts, she didn’t bother to lift her head upon hearing the door to her room creak open. “Ne, Koyu-chan… Did you have another nightmare?” The familiar voice of her brother immediately brought a feeling of comfort to the frightened girl. She looked up at him miserably, nodding her head as she dove into another fit of tears. In no time at all, Atsuki was by her side, pulling her into a comforting embrace. They stayed like that for quite some time, with nothing but the sound of Koyuki’s quiet sobs. After a while, the boy managed to convince her to go back to bed, but not without agreeing to stay by her side. As she snuggled up to the raven haired boy, a soft smile tugged at her lips. “Atsuki-kun… Thank you…”
