Is your character on the Student Council? Fortunately for St Lulim, she is not.
If yes, what does your character think of the student council president, Naomi Shizuoka?
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Naoko is not what you would call a reserved and quiet person. Restraint, especially, is not one of her strong suits. She tends to do what she wants, when she wants and rarely has concern over what others might think of that. Naoko's upbringing has not granted her a great deal of discipline. As a result she is quite impulsive and can often come across as something of a loudmouth.
In spite of these characteristics, she has a clever mind. Depending on how it's applied, though, is where most people might find objections. If only Naoko cared about these sorts of things. Ever the trouble maker, she finds herself getting into (and having to bail herself out of) some tricky situations.
Above all else, however, Naoko does consider herself to be a very loyal person. When she does make friends, she always finds herself quite protective of them. And often reacting in extreme ways to those who might do them harm.
What does you character think of the Etoile position as a whole?
Not a bad gig, if you can get it. Certainly it does involve a great deal of commitment. Naoko could almost admire people with that kind of dedication. Almost.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday?
Naoko would have a greater chance of becoming President of the United States.
What does your character think of Shizuka Myuzu and Chokone Manatsu, the current etoiles? Shizuka seems like a bit of a stiff. One of those serious types that might not take too kindly to a practical joke or two...which IS quite tempting, now isn't it?
Those shy and quiet types always try and keep their distance from girls like Naoko. Which always provides a different kind of incentive for Naoko to bug her. Oh, the things she could do!
What does your character think of the other schools?
Miator and Spica? She doesn't understand what the big deal is over their rivalry. They both seem stuffy in their own way. Which makes them rather similar, now doesn't it? Either way, she's happy with Lulim...at least there's a bit more wiggle room.
~History~
Please write in 100 words or more your character's history before she came to Lulim.
History before Astraea Hill:
Naoko Kaneko has had anything but a stable life at home. Her parents didn't play much of a role. She never knew her father and her mother always had...something else to do. So, the majority of the parenting duties were left to her uncle, Shinji. A decision that was made out of convenience, more than they were based on his aptitude at the task. While he wasn't inclined to mistreat Naoko, his dubious employment was not a very good factor. Nor was his willingness to simply look the other way when teachers found her behavior to be less than admirable.
Naoko did look up to him, however. As a rolemodel, she probably should have been a bit more selective, but he did impart a good deal of knowledge. And Naoko, behavior issues aside, was a very quick learner. While the skills she did learn were hardly applicable to your more traditional fields of employment, they could hardly be written off as worthless.
Things were going about as well as one could expect. She would get yelled at by a few teachers, occasionally attempting to contact her uncle, but Naoko was fairly content. She even had something of a small gang of classmates who would help her out.
Yes, Naoko couldn't ask for more. Except for one day, when she met a very pretty girl. This particular young lady was unlike the rag tag collection of young would-be hoodlums she typically ran around with. She came from an obviously wealthier background and attended one of the private schools in the city. It was unlikely that they would ever meet, yet alone get along as well as they did. Surprisingly, though, they hit it off right from the start.
Naoko only knew her as “Juliette”. It was a fake name, she had no doubt about that, but she didn't want to press the issue. And looking back on it, she doubted she would have done much differently had she known the truth. As it turned out, “Juliette”s father was a politician. And in the world of politics, scandal was to be avoided at all costs.
In what was bound to be a minor issue, her parents were to be divorced. The public separation would likely make things uncomfortable, but manageable. Not that she was looking forward to it. So, Naoko decided to cheer her up with a little joy ride. The scooter she had was “borrowed” from a neighbor and she fully intended to return her home before sunrise.
Juliette's parents made an ill-timed trip to her room and found their daughter missing. Understandably distressed, they began a search that eventually led to police intervention. Finding their daughter in a shady part of town, kissing such an undesirable girl as Naoko was hardly ideal.
It was a disastrous situation for all involved. Fortunately for Naoko, the threat of a career damaging scandal helped minimize the repercussions. But, it was enough of a situation that led to her mother making a rare appearance. Taking her away from her uncle, her friends and her dearest Juliette, Naoko was sent packing to St. Lulim. Maybe that would keep her out of trouble...Maybe.
First Year: N/A
Second Year: N/A
Third Year: Naoko transferred in pretty late in the year. Despite that, she did manage to make a friend surprisingly quickly. It would be the equally troublesome Mai Kiriko. Or, as she would prefer to put it, a kindred spirit. Naoko is looking forward to "livening" things up around the school. After all, when life gives you lemons, make sangria!
Fourth Year: Business has been a little rocky for Naoko. Sure, she's been able to make a few yen here and there, but a few of her bigger plans have not turned out nearly as profitable as she would have liked. She also found that she hasn't been hanging out with Mai as much as she would have liked. A shame to not have someone who appreciates her skills around. While her other pursuits seem to have fizzled out. Another Miator girl and her had certainly turned a few heads at the Winter Ball. But that girl seemed to have eyes for someone else.
Fifth Year: Now that Naoko is pretty much the go-to girl for anything you are not supposed to have, she has been enjoying herself more and more. From providing party favors at the Halloween Party (that no one was supposed to go) to dressing in her usual outlandish outfits for the Winter Ball and generally causing a scene. At that very Ball, she saw the powder keg that could lay between Miator's self-styled Grand Prince and one of her pals, the Ice Prince of Spica. She even snuck in a dance with one of the Miator girl's girls and had a grand old time. The only question now is...whether or not she "carelessly" happens to "leave" a match around this rather explosive situation.
Not to mention the thought of how cool it would be to have a harem of her own. In between her gallivanting around Astraea Hill, Naoko has found a willing and eager pupil. One Etain Adair had expressed her interest in learning some of her skills. And Naoko is more than willing to pass them along to other eager young "entrepreneurs".
Sixth Year:
Sample Post:
Naoko watched the city begin to disappear into the horizon. It would be a long time before she would be back. Her mother didn't even stick around to see her off, let alone actually drive her out to this new school. Which wasn't a very big surprise. And when last she saw her, she was still pretty mad...so, a few hours alone with her in a car was probably worse. The nameless driver didn't seem to know, nor care, the circumstances of surrounding her trip. He just listened to his radio and ignored her.
Eventually she might just take a nap. But, for now, she was going to sit and watch as things got more boring. This was hardly an ideal situation. Naoko wanted to stay with her uncle. She wanted to stay with her friends. And most importantly, she wanted to stay with “Juliette”. If only things were that easy.
A curse slipped out from lips. A quiet sound, that didn't even register with the driver. Not that it was directed at him. The disinterest was mutual. The two of them were just crossing paths. Victims of circumstance. Naoko would have to find some way to entertain herself. Maybe when she reached the campus. It was big and full of rich girls. A smirk curled it's way upwards. That actually didn't sound too bad when she thought of it, like that. Somewhere she wondered why her mother didn't do this to begin with. Maybe it was just the convenience of relying on her brother.
She would figure something out...she usually did, anyways....
