Darla Tsuriya
At the core of things, Darla is a person that has few attachments to the world, despite her outer behavior. Her ability to remember everything she senses could be considered a wonderful gift if in the hands of one with aspirations or a drive to improve the world. For a person that had been trapped and ruined by her circumstances, though, it was just a curse. To put things simply, life itself has gotten old and boring. Every time she finds something to amuse herself with, the sensation is transient and closes the window of hope she has ever so slightly. She's a genius, but she's not a creator. She could play, recite, or recreate anything that requires only learned skill, but she could never create anything without copying or spinning off of an existing item.
It's for that reason that her existence is stifling. She can experience, but not create- once something is recorded, it's old, and no longer interesting. She seeks thrills. She desires the obscure. She needs the things that are otherwise rejected, unwanted, or forbidden. These things keep her relative state of sanity in tact with less of a threat of her simply snapping. She's moving a million miles a second in a five foot per hour zone.
She's not the strongest of people, though. In fact, even without her body going through withdrawals and habitually getting the shakes or just rejecting sustenance, she'd easily be beaten in a test of strength. Muscle memory and her having watched fights gives her a bit of an edge, but emulation only gets so far. She's pretty fragile, despite her almost indomitable personality.
Fear? Zero. Darla's common sense and ability to interpret danger are skewed. Where one might view a wild dog as a threat and avoid it out of fear of injury or death, she'd casually walk to it, wondering whether she'd feel pain or if it'd back down. If challenged, she wouldn't back down, regardless of her chances of success. She's hard-headed that way, so long as it interests her.
Darla cooks for herself usually. Her food, however, is very unique. It could be considered poison to some. She deliberately creates contradictory food for the sake of a unique experience. It's not that she's bad at cooking- she can prepare perfectly good and healthy food at will for others. But she's experienced the “good”. Now she desires the strange. The only other noticeable hobby she has is making stuffed animals. They're known for being extremely realistic. Well, there's reasons for that. She typically dumps off her products on her older sister, though.
All in all, the girl is not a monster, even if, at the core, she is rotten. She's a victim of circumstances. If a person really gets to know her from the inside out, they'll be able to see through her acts and her own corruption.

Enemies
“Why go out of your way to start something? Conflict briefly revives my interest in others, but any chaos you bring about will be lackluster and bland. You're worse than a C-rated film played by children who take themselves too seriously. Please, let the door hit you on the way out.”
Darla is much too lazy to start a war between herself and others. While it would amuse her to watch a person squirm, it's typically better to watch a conflict from the sidelines. More can be seen that way, and playing the Devil's Advocate can fuel the flames. People are the primary variables that can spark her interest, if only because they can sometimes perform in unpredictable ways. But, due to her flighty nature, and her habit to meddle, it's not unbelievable that she could cause some degree of strife directed at herself.
Friends
“There's a reason I avoid you, you know. Spending time with me won't end well for you. That, and you seek me out regardless. The time we spend together is pleasant, but if it occurs too much, it'll be bland. I don't want to be bored with you. So I do this for the sake of our friendship. It's really not you. It's me.”
There are few people that Darla cares about enough to consider friends. There's a good reason for that, though. Her early years were crap, and she's only been at Astraea for a short while. Even then, while her personality and abilities might attract some of the more easily impressionable girls, she grows bored and annoyed with their presence rather quickly. Now, given that she's usually polite enough about things, there's probably plenty that consider her a friend. A true friend, as her quote might suggest, will be a person she goes out of her way to avoid. It's not because she hates them. Nor is it because she's angry. It's simply because she treasures them and wants to render herself incapable of considering their presence bland or boring.
In other words, it's her single best effort to remain interested in others without crossing lines that she knows shouldn't be crossed.
Lovers
“I've been loved before. Then again, men rarely got as a good a chance as I gave them in the past. And my family is just. . . very kind. Do you really understand just how impure and corrupt I am? And still love me? I'm not sure whether this is interesting or scary. Either way, you're unique. I can't promise love yet. But I will be there for you.”
Given that Darla has already experienced both familial love and the superficial, temporary “love” felt between two sharing their bodies, it's borderline impossible for Darla to fall for somebody else. But she would not be against letting someone else love her- and responding gently- if she believed they knew enough about her. Whether or not they could change her, though? That's purely up to chance and their own perseverance. There''s a chance. It's a variable. Variables hold infinite possibility- just ask Darla, they're the slim hope that keeps her going.[/right]
Ideas, Plots, and Concepts
Completed Experiments
Sisterly Surprises - Opting to avoid the parties of Christmas Eve, Darla stayed in her dorm room, waiting for Aoi. After an exchange of gifts, and a light bit of teasing, the two shared a moment in which Darla showed affection in her own, special way. The thread concludes with the two sharing Darla's bed until Christmas morning.
The Origins of Lapin Warfare - Darla conceptualized Roger, the Bunny Warrior in this event. More than that, she met an Aohana Chiharu, an upperclassman of Miator. After converting the other girl's opinions in regards to the slaying and innard-removal of rabbits and other "helpless" animals, Darla came to a startling realization. She could feel embarrassment.
Down the Rabbit Hole - Darla, in a streak of soul-wrenching boredom, crafts the details of a world to be enacted in a play format. As a result, she crafts some oversized clothes and some bunny ears. And also harasses her sister. They also shared details regarding fictional words, specifically Darla's ideal world, one without boredom for her. Sadly, soon after the events of this thread, Darla lost interest in the idea of enacting a play, her mind having created a megaverse for that particular existence.

The Club
I'd find it highly amusing if Darla actually had a fanclub somewhere in Astraea. May not be entirely because of her attitude or smarts, though. During the earthquake, Darla was on campus. When trapped with a few other Miator girls, one was injured and bleeding, and the rest were panicking. While they probably would have been fine with time, Darla, being about as bored as could be, decided that that was the easiest chance to play the hero. She gave the group direction and divided their labor towards tending to the wounded and digging themselves out, giving directions on both along the way.
She may have done zero actual labor, but the fact that she took change and helped out probably painted her in a positive light to those girls and others. So, maybe, just maybe, she has a small group of fans. It'd be amusing.
More later when not lazy.
