Cooking Club: No
Arts and Crafts: No
Book Club: No
Theater Club: No
Computer Club: No
Manga/Anime Club: Yes
Other? None
[/ul]Is your character on the Student Council? No, but maybe someday....
Please explain your character's personality in 200 words or more:
Kiwako seems like a mature, put together young girl. She does what needs to be done and is efficient. She may not be talented, but she is a hard worker, to the point that she will not eat or sleep in order to finish what needs to be done if she thinks it will take too much time away from studying or other important things. She is cordial and polite, even friendly. Despite oftentimes being very businesslike, she appears to be a happy girl, smiling and laughing when appropriate.
However, all of those things and all of her relationships are superficial.
Really, she is a rather sad child who wants nothing more than to be loved. She is afraid of showing her true feelings and so is very careful about the way that she acts so as to maintain appearances. She loves romance anime and manga, sometimes imagining herself as her favorite characters with someone to love her the way they do in the stories. Kiwako acts strong and put together, but when alone she easily falls apart. Although she wants to be loved, she is convinced that people will hurt her or take advantage of her, the reason that she holds people at a distance and is afraid of showing her true feelings despite her desire to be loved.
Kiwako is also extremely claustrophobic and afraid of the dark.
What does you character think of the Etoile position as a whole?
It sounds like a fantasy. Two people declaring their love to the school, who care for each other so deeply and work together to protect each other. Although she doesn't like the way that people obsess over the girls and are willing to spread rumors.
Does your character want to be an Etoile someday?
She would love (almost) nothing more.
What does your character think of Shizuka and Chokone, the current Etoiles?
Cho: Their story is sweet and wonderful. It's a fairy tale, or an anime, which Kiwako absolutely loves. That said, Kiwako's expectations for Etoile are exceptionally high and although she adores the love between the two Etoiles, she doesn't think that Cho has what it takes to be Etoile and to have the whole school looking at her.[/font][/ul]
What does your character think of the other schools?
She doesn't care one way or the other. The only reason she chose Lulim was because of Arceia. Not that she was pushed into choosing the teacher's alma mater, just that she wants to follow in her adopted mother's footsteps and get Arceia's pride, approval, and love.
~History~
History before Astraea Hill:
Kiwako's family wasn't particularly well off, nor were they poor. They lived comfortably. Her father was handsome, hardworking, and kind. Her mother was pretty, competent, friendly, and kept their home looking impeccable. Kiwako got her parents' good looks, was intelligent and hardworking like her father and was kind and reliable like her mother. The parents were proud of their daughter, bragging about her perfect behavior, grades, and good looks whenever given the chance. They were the perfect, happy family. Or so it seemed.
Kiwako's parents were domineering. They expected nothing less than perfection from their daughter. Her mother had dreamed of being a pianist until pregnancy got in the way. She spent endless hours practicing, with Kiwako at her side. Whether or not the girl wanted to be. She was often tied to the piano as her mother practiced so that her mother could keep an eye on her and make sure she was safe. She wasn't allowed to interrupt her mother. Should she need to go to the bathroom or need a drink of water - or cry as was the case when she was an infant - she was forced to stay where she sat. If she soiled herself, she had to clean the mess she made after practice was over, sometimes hours later.
In fact, as a child, she was often tied to her mother and dragged everywhere in the house that her mother needed to be. After all, her mother needed to keep a close eye on her to make sure that she was safe and behaving herself properly.
If she misbehaved, she was locked in a crate meant for dogs, with bars on all sides but the top and a hard bottom. The top had been converted to a comfortable chair for her parents so that they could monitor her while she was being punished. Often, she was left there overnight to think about what she had done. When her parents went out without her, they left her in the same place. Locked in there with only limited water, sometimes no food, and no bathroom, she passed the hours by imagining herself living in the manga that the other girls in school sometimes showed her.
Her parents were careful never to hit her and to make sure that she wasn't underweight. They weren't monsters, of course. They thought of themselves as kind, loving parents who cared properly for their daughter. She wasn't allowed to return home late. She wasn't allowed to visit friends. Friends were not allowed to visit her. Her computer access was monitored closely and limited only to schoolwork. She had no access to television and non-academic books. Her free time revolved around her studies. Kiwako was punished for anything less than the highest score in the class.
One day, Kiwako had fallen ill and missed school. Worried classmates came to visit. This was her parents' first mistake. While her classmates waited downstairs, her parents argued loudly with her upstairs in her room. They heard it all. After the argument, Kiwako appeared from her room, thanking her classmates and urging them to leave and never come back. After what they had heard, they were all too willing to agree. Finally, the small girl had reached her breaking point.
The only time she wasn't under her parents' constant observation was at school. That didn't leave her much time to research family legal cases and local lawyers, so she picked the first one she could find and finally managed to write a letter to a local lawyer named Samus Drystan.
As her home situation was deemed unsafe during court proceedings, her grandparents and other family members were notified. None of them wanted anything to do with her. Her classmates allowed her to stay with them. She moved frequently and was never fully welcomed. The students were too uncomfortable after what they had witnessed with her family and their parents acted as though Kiwako was the one at fault, somehow bringing this on herself. She spent much of her time studying, watching romance anime or reading manga borrowed from whoever she was staying with at the time.
After long, drawn out court proceedings, she was finally freed from her parents, but now had nowhere to go. So, Arceia Aeducan took her in. With the paperwork finally gone through, Kiwako was officially adopted by the Astraea Hill teacher. Maybe this is finally her chance to be with a family that loves her and treats her the way happy families treat their children in the manga and anime that she loves.

It was her first time in the Lulim uniform. She looked down at herself. It wasn't that going to a private school was strange for her. In fact, it was an ordinary part of life. Her parents had always pushed her to get into the best schools. By their standards, St. Lulim would have been a failure. Miator or even Spica would have been preferred. Maybe that was one of the reasons that she had chosen Lulim. How did you find us? Ai here!
Only one of the reasons.
She had wanted to show Arceia, to make the young woman proud and to see Kiwako in the uniform of her old school. The teenager pushed her hair aside. Well, there would be plenty of chances. For now, she strolled through the cherry tree glenn, admiring the view. In truth, walking with no aim like this was somewhat invigorating, even empowering. She had never done something like this before. She had always been in a hurry to get home, never able to take in the scenery and rarely outside for longer than her parents deemed necessary. She liked this.
The Lulim student sighed and stopped at a tree, settling herself comfortably underneath it and closing her eyes, trying to imagine what this place would look like come spring.◦ ◦ ◦ ◦

NOTES: So, yes. I stole parts of her history from Sybil (in case someone recognizes it) and some stuff that someone I used to talk with a lot told me.
