Amoretta Lilianne Reinard
Amoretta is a fluffy ball of seething distaste and distrust towards human beings. After the events with her father and brother, and the relapse in a German school, the girl cut her heart off from the world, letting only her mother and those her mother specifically made note of inside. No one would be able to tell it from a distance, though. On the outside, she's just a quiet, somewhat anti-social girl. At worst, she could be called cold or distant on occasion. She's civil when the situation demands it. She aims to be a shadow in the background- to pass through society as a prop or background character. Being the focus of attention, being surrounded by people, and being actively dragged around by people are all things that, frankly, terrify her.
Once you get passed the outer shell, then the inner wall erected for her protection, though, you find a soft, gooey core. Like a tootsie-pop. In reality, Amoretta is afraid of trusting people, and the resulting scenarios make the girl feel lonely. Her fear of being backstabbed, though, greatly outweighs her desire for trust and fellowship. She herself would not dare admit it- even to herself. She wholeheartedly believes that people can't be trusted, that they're all twisted, corrupt, and seeking to do harm to one another. It's this conviction that gets in the way of her subconscious wants.
Despite her beliefs, there are two types of people she finds it easy to trust. The first is children. They're too young to understand and be corrupted by the world. The second is the elderly. They're too weak- and probably senile- to harm her. On the other side of the spectrum, there are two types of people she absolutely refuses to even entertain the possibility of trusting. Those are the overly tall and doctors. The prior is due to Amoretta's height of 4'5. The latter is due to her general lack of faith in doctors and their “practice of medicine”.
Her interests pertain mostly to electronics, books, and art. She's good at tinkering with computers, a native to the internet, and a gamer- though, even in multiplayer games, she tends to solo. Everything she plays or reads tends to have an edge that reality doesn't- in other words, she enjoys things that would never happen to her, as a normal human being. Ironically, despite her run-ins with the twisted, she has an almost obsessive interest with the dark and morbid- an intense love for the macabre.
Her eating habits are deplorable. She loves sweets and often binges on chocolate-based goods entirely, outside of her aiming for meats. The interest in the latter, however, is mostly due to the fact that she believes the additional protein and whatnot will help her grow. Milk usually finds its way in there for beverages. Oddly enough, the girl enjoys hot drinks- usually too hot for others- but prefers her food lukewarm, or even cold. She often claims that the food is too hot for her mouth, which is nothing short of confusing, given her choice temperature of drinks.
All in all, she's a unique and quirky girl.

”You are too loud. Why will you not cease your useless prattling? You disgusting little vermin! I just want to step on you repeatedly and crush you.”
Now, from the get go, Amoretta believes everyone is an enemy to some extent. But only in the sense that they can't be trusted. Real enemies, the ones that provoke a sense of dread or the need to extensively protect herself, are the ones that truly earn this title. See, when Amoretta feels genuinely threatened, she gets a little crazy. I mean, the last time someone did something unexpected, it took three girls larger than her to pin her down. And she's not that strong. Or physically capable. Whoever focuses on her enough, or triggers her, or just directly confronts her with the intention of starting crap had better be a good runner.
It wouldn't take much to get formally accepted as a threat. Someone may do it by accident. But, what it boils down to is the basics. Attempted bullies will receive a degree of vicious whiplash. “Friends” that end up betraying her trust will likely be targeted with vicious animosity- not excluding physical violence, harmful traps, and the like. Those that just get too touchy or forward will need to watch out for fountain pens, but if they're fast on their feet, they shouldn't have too much to worry about.
“I don't mind if you. . . stay around for a while. Just don't get too. . . loud, please.”
Amoretta has absolutely zero friends from the get-go. And any friends coming in will be taking the long, hard route. Of course, like any good pathway or game or what-have-you, becoming someone that Amoretta can tolerate is actually not that hard- it's just that nobody had the chance to do it before. Continued persistence in bothering her will likely just get an agitated response, but a careful, observant approach will bring forth great riches and prosperity. Offer her something she might like, while not provoking her cautious nature. Engage her in a conversation about the things she likes, and she just might forget her distrust.
I would like for her to make a few friends. Maybe gamers, maybe artists. Perhaps someone tries to open a conversation about stories and gets lucky? Plenty of ways to get around her defenses, even if she tries to clam up later. Friends that can actually make her think there's a chance to trust people and not receive whiplash would be great.
“I trust you. That's. . . more than I can say about most people. I would like it if. . . you didn't leave my side. F-for a while, at least. . .”
Congratulations. You triggered her relationship flag. The lucky person that manages invade Amoretta's heart will find that they acquired a very faithful girlfriend. Hers would be the fluffy and affectionate love. Innocent, you could call it. She would take pleasure in simply being around the other person, and would be much more open with them about her feelings than even the ones she considers friends. The only thing they'd have to worry about is cheating. But, you wouldn't cheat on her, right?
Amoretta will have only one lover. Even in fiction, she loathes polygamy as a social structure, and, beyond that, she wouldn't do well with having to share an object of her affection. Whoever manages to get this role must have been a friend for a while. That said, Amoretta would have also needed a number of friends by this point, because the level of trust she'd be willing to give another person would be immense. Players need not apply.
“The odds and ends must be stacked in a particular way. . . no, stop. Get out of the way. I'll do it.”
This segment is for odds and ends, as well as the occasional plot idea. It's also the primary field that will be edited over time if I can be bothered to ever reopen this post.
Completed Experiences
Seething Silence - Amoretta met Chidori Tsukino, her roommate.
Waltzing Unto Oblivion - During the summer break, Amoretta experienced a fit of illness and fever. She was taken to the infirmary by a Noriko Tsuchikami. An exchange of societal, religious, and philosophical opinions were exchanged simply on the whims of an ill Amoretta. She also decided she wouldn't mind meeting the woman again.
Concepts and Ideas
-The Roommate; Filled by Chidori Tsukino-
-The Hero-
Amoretta has a weak body, a weak immune system, and plenty of other problems. Add that she an insomniac, and that her diet can sometimes be mostly sugar, and there's obviously going to be some problems. Occasionally, she'll faint. Someone will need to be there to help her and carry her- either to the nurse or her dorm room, or something. This person would likely end up doing it several times over the year. I'd imagine, since they have the duty, that they'd be a little worried for her. Over time, they'd manage to get her to open up. This can either lead to friends or lovers, depending on how the cards are played.
-The Servant-
It would be amusing for Amoretta, the misanthropic little ball of hatred that she is, to get a servant that stalked her, aiming to assist her in any way, shape or form. Think Soushi from Inu x Boku, if you've read/watched it. It could be an existing student, or it could be a specially-created character- could even be one of the servants back at the Reinard estate in England, though that'd take a bit more input from me.
-The Trigger-
As is suggested in her profile, Amoretta is not the most stable of individuals. With psychosis running in the family, as well as enough psychological trauma to leave two to three people mentally scarred, it's only a wonder that the girl isn't a little psychopath yet. Mix in a lack of sleep due to a combination of back pains and night terrors/daymares due to her father's attempt at turning her into a doll as well as her nervous disposition and general lack of trust towards others, and you'll realize that the grounds for some degree of trouble are already prepared.
The Trigger is a person, or a small group of people, that, under a certain set of exceedingly stressful circumstances, causes Amoretta to break. This isn't the sense that she has a psychological breakdown and cries, but in the sense that her emotions and mental stability completely deflate and cause her mind to, for lack of a better phrase, shut down and erect a new line of defense- a secondary personality.
This isn't some B-grade drama flick plot I'm looking for. What I want is a genuine case of Dissociative Identity Disorder, caused by a set of circumstances that drives Amoretta into a corner so thoroughly and mercilessly that, feeling as though she can no longer protect herself, she breaks under the stress. It would take a lot to get her like that, really, but there are some things I can implement that would make it easier for an interested party.
That said, the trauma she needs isn't physical. A physical threat just gets a reflexive reaction- like the German girl kissing her in her history. What she needs is purely psychological and emotional. It could be caused by spite. It could be caused as a joke. It could even be a twisted variety of love. Something just needs to trigger her.
As for how it plays out, it really depends on how active and forward the partner is. It could be drawn out over several threads, but that'd probably be tedious (the actual snapping, not the process to the snapping). The event would hopefully occur only once, perhaps persisting for a few in-world days until her subconscious rationalized everything and fixed itself.
If done correctly, this could lead to several improvements for Amoretta. Firstly, it'd help her rationalize and get past her fear towards her father, which would, for the most part, solve her night terror issue. Secondly, it'd build up her confidence on an interpersonal level- to the point that she'd be willing to speak her mind to people that she doesn't necessarily trust all the way. On top of these, she'd probably be able to finally put her issues with doctors to the side long enough to have her back fixed, which would improve her sleeping capability. As a result, her tolerance towards others would increase, and her general irritability would drop.
So to summarize, if done correctly, this plot could result in huge personal growth for Amoretta, basically solving her major obstacles towards having a productive school life.
And that's all for now because I'm too lazy. /effort
