"Song of The Past"
Sister Dear! "Opening" theme
Cast- Yo and Naomi
Setting- Outside an old cottage
Words- 3181
Notes- I actually teared up writing this one. No joke. I know I haven't delved into it too much in RP, but these two have a LONG history. Much like how June and Arceia have a history, but far less sadistic. So writing out this reconciliation actually touched me. I know this sentiment won't really make sense to you guys, but trust me- This was hard to even finish writing, which is why it's so short. ._. I love these two so much and this is a HUGE step for them.
This is part of the RP canon, told in Yo's POV

I got a text, sometime around noon that day. Forget what day it was, but whatever. I'd just finished my last rhymes for the morning anyway. I usually write when I first wake up because that way I remember my dreams which is my main inspiration. Yeah, I write songs about my dreams, get the Hell over it, man. Anyway, what was I saying? oh, yeah, so Naomi texted me at noon and asked if I was back on campus yet. So rather than reply to her text, I found her and gave her a kiss- Like a boss. It was around the gate, so I guess I caught her before she was heading out shopping or something. She melted pretty quick- For somebody with her past anyway. It was adorable.
"Ry-chan~" she whispered. I swear I took her breath away.
"That answer your question Na-chan?" I said, grabbing her hand. "C'mon, I owe you a nice date."
"Wait." why the Hell would I do that? Whatever, right? So I kept listening.
"Before we do anything, I wanted to tell you about my family."
"What about'em?" Oh great. Please, Na-chan, don't do this.
"You seen Arcy or Chiyo in a while?"
"Nope. Kind of assumed she graduated. We were never that close."
"Oh no, she's still here. And she's engaged!"
"You serious?"
"Yeah. After all that drama, they finally sealed the deal."
So, my cousin was moving fast. Oh yeah, I should probably mention my family is damned near all over this campus. But anyway, Arceia wasn't somebody I knew too well. She was more Naomi's buddy.
"That's kinda sweet I guess. How's Ken?"
"That little brat she was dating moved away, so she's with a new brat."
Asami wasn't THAT bad, Na-chan. Ah well.
"Hey, can we talk about this off campus?"
"I-i guess... Scared of my family or something?"
"I don't really know how to approach them yet. Sorry darlin'."
So then she blushed because of how awesome I am. And I motioned for her to follow me with a playful beckoning motion and a wink. We made out way to the tiny parking lot outside campus. I guess Na-chan forgot I was a rock star or something and she just expected me to want to talk in the parking lot. Nah, I'm too cool for that. So I walk on over to my goddamned motorcycle and start it up, and her eyes widen. She looked like a little kid on Christmas or something. It was cute. But I wanted more reaction, so I leaned over the bike and put my head down slightly. Juuust enough room for her to see my bra a bit, and I gave her a smile.
Bam, the blush I wanted.
"R-ry-chan... When did you get this?"
"You're asking about this and not when I learned how to drive?"
So then she kind of pouted. I guess I caught her in a silly moment.
"H-hey that was my next question!"
"Uh-huh. Get on, we're heading outta town."
Sure, she was in uniform. But I wasn't- Tank top, skirt, and some stockings for me. Nothing fancy, but then, I was too cool to care about what I looked like to everybody else.
Ah, the simple life of a rock star. This was all I dreamed about.
"Ry-chan~" she mused. I helped her on, because apparently she had never been on one of these. or maybe mine was just wider than the ones she was used to- It was a Harley by the way. American made, really loud, totally awesome. So, with a totally bragging roar of the bike, we took off. Her arms tightly around my waist as if I was her lifeline or something. The music that came out was one of our songs- I borrowed one of our albums from the guys and had somebody wire a CD player into the thing. So we were blasting TFW down the road, her hair flying back wildly and mine pretty neatly stayed- Gotta love hair ties. We went by a few nice places, saw a few Astraea students mingling in the area. Y'know, the school was way more lax than it used to be from what I hear. I guess like ten years ago, the girls could very rarely go off campus. Nowadays I can just grab girls left and right and take them out for rides. Anyway, once we got to where the city stopped and there was a lot of trees, I slowed down. We passed some old cottage- Looked like it belonged to some rich suits or something. It was a little ways after that when I stopped. Na-chan never said a word on the way. I guess my presence was so amazing she went speechless.
When we stopped though...
"Ry-chan, what's up?"
"This looks like a good spot. C'mon, let's hang out here a while."
"... The middle of nowhere?"
"Yeah, peaceful huh?"
I really had no plans. So I kidnapped my sister. Cool huh?
"So... Who have you seen from the family?" she asked me.
"I saw Ken, but didn't say anything. Pretty little thing she's growing up to be."
"Hey!" she pouted again. I pulled her in and kissed her.
"Nobody beats you, hun."
"Ry-chan~"
"Anyway, who else is still in school?"
"Well... June, Ken, Arcy, me, and you. I think that's it."
"Didn't Arc have a little sis too?"
"Oh yeah! She's a smart one. Found Arcy all by herself. I'd watch out for her, she'd be the first one to find out who you are."
"Got it. Was that the main reason you asked me about Arc back on campus?"
"Yeah..."
So it went quiet for a minute. I didn't like that.
"Hey love, question."
"Ry-chan?"
"Why did we fight so much back home?"
And then I created more silence. It was awkward after a few seconds, and then it stayed awkward for another like ten minutes. Finally, she hugged me and it sounded like she was about to cry.
"Mom and dad... They always talked about how great you were. How you could do anything. They paid for your tuition and even if they messed up the signups, you shrugged it off and kept going. I..."
"Hun, just spit it out. I'm not gonna judge. Past is past, I'm just curious."
"I was jealous. They Favorited you. But I also really admired you. You could do anything and you always got along with everyone..."
"Big bad Na-chan was like that?"
"Ry-chan... I only started doing that stuff at first because I wanted to be unique too. I wanted to be fun and stuff like you, and this guy came along, and..."
"I think I've heard all I need to." I stopped her. No way did I wanna hear about my girlfriend's past sexual escapades.
"Hey, I ever tell you where I got the name from?"
"Huh?"
"My name. Yo Seioni."
"Oh! No, never."
I put a hand on her hip, then pulled her in again.
"From my favorite little blue devil." I kissed her.
Big bad Na-chan, so easy to make her melt for somebody so worldly. She grabbed onto me pretty tightly and started crying. Loudly too. I'm surprised the owner of that cottage didn't come out and yell at us. That is, if anyone lived there still.
"Hey hey, Na-chan, calm down~"
"Y-you... Ry-chan, you never wanted to let me go, even back then..." she managed between gasps and from being muffled in my shoulder. "You... Did you like me this way even back then?"
"Na-chan..." I really wish I had an answer to that. But honestly, I don't know.
"Things were complicated back then. All I know is I didn't want to leave you behind. I needed Na-chan somehow in my life."
"R-ry-chan!" she started crying harder. I guess genuine romance was something she didn't know yet. Then again I shouldn't be surprised. Far as I know, her only relationships were one night stands until I showed up. Er... Not showed up. Stole her? Nah, that didn't work. Oh, wait, the plot. Let's get back to it.
"Na-chan, you know what I don't think I've ever said to you, even when we were kids?"
She could only manage shaking her head as a response.
"I love my Na-chan."
She kind of didn't respond for a while. The thing was though, I really did. I mean I'm not sure why it took me until we were a couple to say that, but I'd always loved my sister. Even...
"I always have, Na-chan. When we were little I would always be curious about you. Mom would tell me not to disturb you while you were napping though. You were always so sleepy, and you were so cute while you slept."
She really was. I know I can't really fully explain it, but she was like this sweet, innocent doll that was so peaceful and carefree. You'd never expect to see that out of her now though, especially considering the past. But, Naomi was quite the cute kid.
"I remember one day, when we were out in the yard and Ike-kun was babysitting. He gave you a red ball, and you just couldn't take your eyes off the thing. The simplest things were like treasure, and you were some kind of amazing treasure hunter..."
She kissed me this time, her face felt wet though. Must have still been crying.
"Ry-chan, I love you too. I... I'm sorry I was always so jealous. I just wanted to be liked so badly. Ike-kun and Ayano-chan were friendly, but they were always busy, and you know how rarely dad was around..."
"Yeah..."
"Mom wasn't exactly nice either. At least back then. I don't remember why, but I never wanted to be around her."
"I don't know, Na-chan. But I really hope you can forgive me as well."
"W-what Why?"
I sighed.
"For tearing our family apart. Running away, faking death like this... And even back then, I was too caught up in my own world to notice how much you wanted me around. I've been a horrible sister."
I'm not sure if it was just what I said or how I said it, but something made her pull away from me. I felt betrayed, abandoned, and hurt-- And this was just her releasing me from a hug. I don't want to think about what might have happened if she pulled away so fiercely during anything else. She had a look to her eyes that just seemed downright wrong for her.
"Stop saying things like that, Ry-chan! You were not horrible!" she snapped, arms crossing at her chest. "You inspired me, and even if the family really misses you... Even if they don't ever find out what happened..."
I could tell she was shaking by this point. I mean, you'd be able to as well if you saw this; She was trying her very hardest not to just collapse right there. I wish I had something snarky to say right now, but even us badass rockstars have soft spots, you know.
"Even if the family is torn apart, I'll always have Ry-chan! I don't care what else happens!"
That hit me right in the pride.
"N-na-chan..." I could barely form sentences at that point. It was here, I realized I was blushing pretty brightly. Such ill demeanor for one such as myself. Anyway, I'm not sure what happened in the next two minutes, but somehow things scrambled into an attempt at a hug, and then she landed on me, and suddenly I'm on the ground with a face full of Naomi.
Not a bad accident if I do say so myself.
"Never say that again Ry-chan, please." she said, breaking the kiss momentarily. She seemed to be doing that in a very rapid pattern, like she couldn't decide between conversation and intimacy. I certainly would not complain either way.
"Ry-chan was nothing but good. It's me who was petty. I shouldn't have tried to live in your shadow like that. I should have found my own way. But mom and dad were so happy with you, I just... I lost sight of what counted, Ry-chan. You."
This time, it was my turn to make HER explain things.
"So, have you found your own way through all of this?" I asked, smirking as best I could manage with a bright blush and while being pinned.
"Yep!" she declared. Unexpected, but awesome. "I'm on Spica's Archery team now with my friend Yumi! I didn't realize I had a knack for it, until after you..."
"Died."
"Y-yeah, that... But, she taught me how and now I'm really good! But I guess the turning point for me was in doing that stuff. The night I met her was a few nights after I had heard about you... She was out practicing, and I was trying to get my mind off of the day, so... I did what Naomi does best."
"No need to explore that."
"R-right. But, she didn't really respond to it very much. And then she caught me smoking, and told me I couldn't do Archery with bad lungs. I didn't believe her until I got to try it. Then I told her about my other addictions. I kind of stopped caring who knew at that point- If Ry-chan wasn't around anymore, why was I still around? That's what I thought. But she helped me quit smoking, and then... Then I told Chiyo, who helped me quit drinking, and then mom and dad paid for rehab! A-and now, Archery is so much fun!"
"Na-chan... Exactly how much were you doing at the time?"
I think she didn't expect me to dig so deep into that.
"I, uh... E-er, A lot..." she held her head down. "Lots of street drugs, and... Lots of unmentionable activity..."
"I see." I really didn't have a better response.
"B-but I'm better now! I'm healthy for Ry-chan!"
"Did my 'death' play any part in this recovery?"
"Lots!" she exclaimed almost immediately. "I wouldn't have done it otherwise! Ry-chan... In a way, your doing what you did might have saved my life. So to revisit this; You're not a horrible sister!"
She kissed me. This time it lasted quite a while. A bit longer than I expected.
"You're a wonderful sister, and a perfect girlfriend." she winked. At that moment, I realized why so many guys and girls had fallen into her trap. That wink had me hooked. It was a confidence that I wanted to be a part of- A confidence that would shout out 'Hey! I don't care what you think!' and that was probably what it did to everyone else. She genuinely had the best face for such playful expressions. I made a mental note to try as hard as I could to not completely ravish her the next time she did that- Which would take all of my willpower.
"Do you think we've gotten enough out in the open, Ry-chan?"
"I would love to say yes, but I'm afraid I do have one more confession." I started to let my arms wrap around her, and rest neatly on her back. Before long, I pulled her back down, holding her there pretty tightly, and kissed her neck. She made a noise that reminded me that we were still technically in public, and I moved back up to her lips to silence her for the time being.
When I finally broke it, I gave a smirk.
"R-ry-chan... That wasn't a confession..." she sighed and layed against me. "Not that I mind."
"The confession is, I know how to unhook your bra from outside your clothes."
She flushed bright red and started mumbling something. I took a large amount of pride in my mini-victory over her, which she noticed and immediately turned away, fake pouting. It was cute, much like all the other times she had pouted today. However, this time she had the task of awkwardly re-aligning everything to fix the damage I had done- She couldn't just do it the easy way, since we had no idea if anybody would be driving by or if anybody was in that cottage for that matter. I had her trapped and I knew it.
"You know that was good, don't lie. I got you good." I joked, sitting up with her still in my lap.
All she did was wink again, without bothering to fix her bra situation.
"It's not a prank if I enjoyed it."
So, remember that willpower thing I said I was supposed to have? Damn you, Na-chan, you really know how to push it to the limit.
"Well played." I managed to say back, through very shallow breaths. Damn. We certainly had been out here a while hadn't we?
"We should probably head back." she suggested, getting off of my lap and offering me her hand. "God only knows what type of crazy rumors are flying around about the big shot rock star taking some quiet Spica girl out for a motorcycle ride by now. You know how gossipy the schools get."
"Let them talk." I said, managing to find my way to the aforementioned bike. "The band could use the publicity, and I want campus to know you're mine."
